Tonight's show has a bunch of non SharePoint content it, and it's all good. I start off talking about some changes I'm making to the video download for this Netcast. Unless there's a public outcry I'm going to switch both video feeds to mp3 files. Next I talk about a blog post I read about using the Office Web Apps with files in a file share. Then I talk about scaling out SharePoint 2013 Search. Then I spend some time talking about how much I love my Surface RT and how now anyone can get one for the low, low price of $350. I spend the rest of the Netcast talking about SharePoint and Windows patches that are hell-bent on destorying your precious, defenseless SharePoint farm.
Welcome to my 150th Netcast. I spend a lot of time talking about the March 2013 Public Updates to SharePoint and the Office Web Apps and the patches for the Workflow Manager. I also talk about how to use PowerShell to prune out unwanted versions of files. I also explain why all web applicatiosn, even the ones you don't like very much, must get a root site collection.
Tonight's episode is super-sized and chock full of fun SharePoint information. I talk about how to load balance the Office Web Apps and how to quickly do Active Directory syncs in SharePoint 2013. I also talk about your options for using antivirus software with SharePoint and when you should use it. Finally I talk about a problem I troubleshot and the process I went through. The chat room was their normal disrespectful rowdy selves.
