Born in a South American commune, into the cult The Move, Paula began suffering trauma at a very early age. Emotional abuse, sexual abuse, religious abuse, and physical abuse were her normal at the hands of both men and women. The distortion of scripture demanded perfection of her, but somehow didn't apply to the evil of her perpetrators. It's amazing that in the midst of this religious mayhem, she survived by making God her secret friend. At the age of 24 she married and left the cult, but happily ever after isn't what came next. Paula has been on a healing journey for a long time, and works with others to obtain their own inner healing. Bio: Founder of Bloom In The Dark, Inc., Paula is a Media Executive, Producer, Director, Writer, and Cohost of international television shows. Many people have pain and wounds they don’t talk about. Fear and shame create a cycle of isolation and hopelessness. But the Bible is light to these dark places. After suffering decades of abuse of all kinds, Paula found herself as a single mom in a new city, jobless, with three young boys to homeschool. In these circumstances, she heard God’s call to start a ministry helping people still caught in the darkness of brokenness and shame. Bloom in the Dark started with real, raw stories of people who found hope and restoration in the gospel with the slogan, “Use the fertilizer of your past to bloom in your future.” The book turned into a TV show, Bloom Today, now syndicated around the world and on Amazon Prime. Paula’s co-host and ministry partner, Ginny Priz, adds her own story of addiction and choices that turned into painful and embarrassing consequences. Together, Paula, Ginny, and their team of counselors, life coaches, pastors, and more, share the good news that there is no pit too deep in your life to experience freedom, joy, and abundant life in Christ. Habakkuk's complains ring true today: Oh Lord, How long shall I cry for help and you will not hear?... Why do you make me see iniquity and why do you idly look at wrong? Destruction and violence are before me; strife and contention arise. So the law is paralyzed and justice never goes forth. Many people today suffer at the hands of others, creating pain and sorrow. I'm glad we have hope. Today my guest is Paula Mosher Wallace and she will share her story and ministry: Bloom in the Dark. God can "restore the years the locusts have eaten" and he has done that for her.

I met Paula at Jeff Goins's Tribe Conference and we spent a lunch break learning more about each other, something that led to me asking her to join me on the show. We touch on several of the discussion points we brought up during that lunch break but go deeper into things than we did on that day. Specifics that we covered on the show include: Paula shares her experience with productivity in business and her personal life (3:44) Why (and how) Paula challenged me on my methodology and philosophy of TimeCrafting (6:03) What Paula believes the "missing piece" is to most - if not all - time management systems (8:46) When and where does the emotional time management piece come into play if one's day was mapped out (15:49) We look at strategies that you can use to keep going even when emotional turmoil shows up (20:04) Why does Paula think people fight off their emotions when it comes to this kind of thing? (22:32) What Paula recommends people do to get started with taking emotional time management into account (28:32) The importance of finding whatever you need to use to help you keep your intentions front and center (33:09) What's one thing that someone can do right to get started with emotional time management? (37:34) The things you can do to help you either work through or offset the toll that emotions can have on you (44:30) Does Paula journal...and what are her thoughts on journaling? (51:17) Quote "It's understanding that I have long term and meaningful - kind of what I call 'eternal' goals - like my relationship with my children that is not a task." - Paula Mosher Wallace Relevant Links https://amzn.to/2Kn6F5V (Bloom In The Dark) https://tribeconference.com/ (Tribe Conference) https://productivityist.com/podcast215/ (Episode 215: Running Down a Dream with Tim Grahl) https://amzn.to/31Beiew (Bloom Forward Journal) You'll find that I thought we'd be wrapping up this episode at about the 30 minute mark but Paula and I kept going. This episode is definitely more of a back-and-forth conversation than I usually deliver. I was so involved in the conversation because I feel the piece Paula is bringing to light is that crucial. Honestly, the big takeaway from this episode is that taking and making time to take emotional time management into account is important. Really important. No Longer A Victim! Healing From Sexual Abuse with Paula Mosher Wallace Sexual abuse can be so devastating and can be a deep secret for many years. So often people who have been sexually abused are living a life full of shame and self-loathing. In this episode you'll hear from Paula Wallace, who was sexually abused as a child, and now uses her story to help others who are healing from sexual abuse. Get to know Paula Mosher Wallace and her ministry and book, Bloom in the Dark. Born in the jungles of Peru to missionary parents, Paula’s beginning in life was anything but typical. Raped at the age of 5, Paula was caught in a cycle of damage and abuse which lasted into her thirties. From sexual abuse to later mental, emotional and even spiritual abuse, Paula developed a victim mentality, which fueled decades of continued abuse. The trauma she experienced caused her to develop a variety of psychosomatic illnesses which, at times, left her bed-ridden. Broken beyond endurance and suicidal, Paula cried out to God for help. He miraculously intervened, faithfully walking with her through a dramatic healing process. Along the way, Paula learned to stand up to her abusers and stop attracting predators. She now knows, from personal experience, the healing, deliverance, and hope that only God can bring. As an ex-victim, Paula’s passion to help others resulted in her writing Bloom in the Dark, a compilation of true stories shared by women who have walked through personal darkness and abuse. Each story tells how God met, healed, and restored an ex-victim. Readers discover that they are not alone and that there is lasting hope and healing! Through the ministry of Bloom in The Dark, Paula focuses on writing and speaking to female abuse victims—raising awareness about abuse, bringing hope to victims, and partnering with ministries to help victims recover. A single mom living in Nashville, Paula homeschool's her three sons, ranging in age from six to fourteen. The boys are a key part of Paula’s support team and her biggest fans. Together they enjoy swimming, hiking and roller skating.
