What if renewing your mind is more practical than we make it?In this episode of Friends With God, Joe explores Romans 12:2 alongside Philippians 4:8 and the science of neuroplasticity and attention. From worrying about work and relationships to the simple example of suddenly seeing your dream car everywhere, our minds are constantly being trained by what we focus on.Paul gives us a surprisingly practical roadmap: focus on what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy. This isn't about pretending problems don't exist. It's about consciously choosing what gets your attention.Your practice this week: Notice what you're focusing on, look for what you're grateful for, and see what begins to change.

Yes!  You are in!  There's a battle around your mind.  Doubt me?  Lots of companies tracking, monitoring and feeding you.  You talk about cruised and hey, there's a pop ad for a cruise line.  Coincidence?  I think not.  How do we counter that?  Stick around, we'll tackle it, here you go...Thanks again for clicking in.  For podcasts also can shape minds.  That's a good test.  Look at your podcast line up.  How many strengthen you?  Encourage your heart?  On the flip, how many whip you up?  Get you agitated?  Hint:  news will most likely agitate.  So how about some Good News? What % of your time is in the Good News?  The Word?  I bet you and I have room for improvement.  As my Brother John Paul of the MonDudes says, "You got to get in the Word, man!"  He's right, Pretty simple truth.  So let me ask in a different way, what % of your time is in the Word vs. Ways of the World?  You know the difference.  The Word has 66 books.  Confession, I mainly leverage the screen version, YouVersion Bible App.  More convenient.  My phone is almost always with me.  So instead of hitting the news app or social media apps first.  The Word gets first.  Ideally, it gets more screen time too.  All that leading to this verse that my TuesDudesPM is tackling and marinating in...1 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 2 Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.Source:  Bible.com, NLT VersionEnding on a prayer note...

Last week, we explored a powerful idea:You are not your thoughts or your feelings. So the next question becomes...If I'm not my thoughts, then how do I actually begin to heal the part of me that still gets triggered? Many of us try to change our reactions by talking ourselves through them.We promise we'll stay calm next time. We'll communicate better. We'll be more patient. And sometimes it works......for a day or two.But if your emotional reactions keep returning, it may be because there's a younger part of you that's still waiting to feel safe.In this week's episode, I want to introduce you to one of my favorite healing practices—using your imagination to access four powerful inner resources that help bring calm, wisdom, protection, and comfort to your nervous system. It may sound simple, but there's fascinating neuroscience behind it: when we vividly imagine an experience, the brain begins creating new neural pathways almost as if it had happened in real life. That's one of the beautiful foundations of neuroplasticity.Episode Timestamps00:48 — Why communication tools aren't enough when your inner child is hurting02:19 — Why imagination can literally help rewire your brain04:42 — Resource #1: Creating your Safe Space07:51 — Resource #2: Finding your Wise Counsel (yes... Have you ever caught yourself thinking, "I'll finally be happy when I lose the weight"? Or maybe, "Once I hit that number on the scale, then I'll finally feel confident." Maybe your mood rises and falls based on what the scale says each morning. Maybe you spend more time counting calories than you do talking to God. Or perhaps your thoughts about food, exercise, and your body have quietly become the thing that consumes your mind, your emotions, and even your sense of identity. If that's you, I want you to know something—you are not alone. I've been there too. Today's episode isn't about guilt or shame. It's about freedom. We're going to wrestle with a difficult but incredibly important question: Has weight loss become an idol in your life? That may sound like a strong question, but I want you to stay with me. Because sometimes even good things—like wanting to be healthier, stronger, or lose weight—can slowly begin to take the place that only God was meant to fill. Today we'll explore what Scripture says about renewing our minds, why our hearts can so easily attach our worth to our bodies, and how to pursue health in a way that honors God without making our weight our identity. Because here's the truth: Your value was never meant to be measured by a number on the scale. Your identity has already been secured in Christ. So if you're ready to stop striving for your worth and start living from the identity God has already given you, then this episode is for you. I'm so glad you're here. And if anything in today's conversation resonates with you, I would love to hear from you. Do you ever feel like food is constantly taking up space in your mind? Maybe you're thinking about what you ate earlier, what you should eat next, what you shouldn't eat, or whether you've been "good" enough today. Maybe you're already promising yourself that tomorrow will be different—that you'll finally get back on track. If that sounds familiar, I want you to know you're not alone. So many women spend their days mentally consumed by food, calories, body image, and the pressure to get everything right. It can feel exhausting. And the more you try to control it, the more food seems to control you. But what if freedom isn't found in thinking about food more? What if it isn't found in stricter rules, greater willpower, or trying harder to be disciplined? The truth is that real transformation begins in the mind. Scripture teaches us that lasting change happens from the inside out. When our minds are renewed with God's truth, everything else begins to change. We stop being driven by fear. We stop making decisions from guilt and shame. We stop obsessing over food and start living with greater peace, purpose, and freedom. Today, we're talking about how to stop letting food consume your thoughts and how to renew your mind with God's truth so you can develop a healthier relationship with food, your body, and ultimately with Him. Because freedom isn't just about what you're eating. It's about what you're believing. And if you're looking for additional support on your journey, I'd love to connect with you. You can email me at taraj@dietditching.com. Also, be sure to join our Facebook community, Lose Weight Live Free, where you'll find encouragement, support, and other women pursuing health without being consumed by food and body struggles.

Your life is moving in the direction of your strongest thoughts. If you've been stuck in negative thinking, battling fear, insecurity, anxiety, or old patterns that won't let go, this message will show you how God transforms your life by first transforming your mind. Real change doesn't start with behavior modification—it starts with renewing your thinking. Discover what the Bible teaches about overcoming destructive thoughts, winning spiritual battles, and becoming the person God created you to be. In this sermon, Pastor Travis Hearn of Impact Church teaches how lasting transformation begins when you allow God to renew your mind and replace old ways of thinking with His truth. In this sermon, you'll learn: • Why your thoughts are shaping the direction of your life
• How to recognize and defeat the lies holding you back
• What it means to take every thought captive to Christ
• Why changing your mind is the first step toward changing your future
• How to break free from toxic thought patterns and spiritual strongholds
• What Scripture teaches about becoming a completely new person in Christ You don't become who God created you to be by improving the old version of yourself. You become transformed when God chips away everything that doesn't belong and reveals who you were always meant to be. The caterpillar never returns after becoming a butterfly—and God wants to do that kind of work in you.

His attention never drifts. His care never wavers.Through reflection, Scripture, and guided prayer, this teaching invites you to step into praise, re-center your mind, and experience what it means to live in the awareness of God's presence. You'll also learn how to pray the Psalm—turning your attention from distraction to delight, and from anxiety to awe.Music Credits:Vikersund by RØRE - MB01V0UASAACPKEAlta by RØRE - MB01IWZVJASGKHF

You’ve prayed about it. You’ve repented of it. You told yourself this was the last time… and then you ended up right back in it. So why does this keep happening? In this episode of The Uncommon Christian, Jon Ellis breaks down the real reason you keep going back to the same sin, pattern, or struggle—and why trying harder hasn’t worked. Because you’re not dealing with a habit. You’re dealing with a stronghold. Strongholds aren’t just external attacks—they are internal belief systems built over time. And until those beliefs are dismantled, the cycle continues. This episode walks through what a stronghold actually is according to Scripture, why behavior-based solutions fall short, and how to break the pattern at the root. If you’ve ever felt stuck in something you genuinely want to be free from, this episode will give you clarity and a real path forward. Why do you keep going back to the same thing—even when you don’t want it anymore? In this episode, Jon Ellis exposes the real reason cycles don’t break: it’s not just behavior—it’s belief. Learn what a stronghold actually is and how to break it by exposing the lie, replacing it with truth, and living in obedience—even when it’s hard.

How does God heal the mind? And what happens when faith and science meet in the middle of our pain? For decades, conversations about mental health and faith often felt disconnected. Drawing from years of clinical work with trauma, addiction, and mental health struggles—as well as global work in crisis zones—Dr. Benzio has seen first hand how the way we see our circumstances and the beliefs we hold can literally reshape our brains. In this episode, Davey and Dr. Benzio discuss how our belief systems shape our decisions, how decisions influence our brain through neuroplasticity, and how God uses community, truth, and spiritual practices to renew our minds. If you've ever wondered how faith intersects with mental health—or how God can bring healing to your mind, emotions, and story—this conversation will help you see that the path to transformation may be closer than you think. On January 11th, 2026 Kris shared a powerful message about developing a wealth culture with a legacy mindset. In this sermon, he shares Joseph's story from a perspective you may have never considered, how his supernatural gifts were disconnected from God's eternal wisdom. We often celebrate Joseph's rise to power, but fail to see how his slave mentality and broken upbringing created solutions that enslaved future generations. Are your high values actually your core values? Kris challenges us to examine whether our supernatural experiences are paired with the mind of Christ, or if we're making decisions based on past wounds.
