If I could give you one piece of advice for 2024, it would be to make sure that your emotional regulation skills are on point all year long, and that those emotional regulation skills involve all aspects of your being, including your physical body, your nervous system, as well as your spiritual body. And so that's the major theme for 2024 if I could put it in a sentence: it's integrated healing through especially the physical, spiritual, and emotional parts of your being. And this podcast episode is going to dive a little bit into the astrology of why. You probably remember that I released my book, "Food Heals: Physical, Emotional & Spiritual Stories to Nourish Your Soul and Transform Your Health" back in December 2019. It was an anthology filled with inspiring healing stories from amazing people, designed to show readers how our bodies can heal themselves when provided with the right tools. The plan was to kick off a book tour in March 2020 to connect with all of you, but as you can guess, fate had other plans. Just after my first book signing in Orlando, the world went into lockdown mode, and my entire book tour was canceled. It was heartbreaking, but I refused to let that be the end of the journey for "Food Heals" "Food Heals" is more than just a book to me. It's a passion project that resonates with my belief in the incredible power of healing through food. The book contains a collection of heartfelt stories that speak to the core of the human experience. Just like the beloved "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series, "Food Heals" touches upon the triumph of the human spirit over adversity, reminding us all that we are capable of remarkable healing. "Chicken Soup for the Vegan Soul" if you will ;) The pandemic threw a major curveball my way, and it felt like "Food Heals" didn't get the attention and promotion it deserved. But instead of dwelling on the disappointment, I decided to explore new ways to share the book's powerful message. That's when the idea of creating an audio version for Audible struck me, and I couldn't be more excited about it! Recording and editing the audio version of "Food Heals" has been an amazing journey. As I delve into each story, I feel a renewed sense of connection with the healing power they hold. I wanted to share this experience with all of you, Food Heals Nation, in the most intimate way possible. So, I decided to release each story free for you on The Food Heals Podcast. It's been a rollercoaster of emotions for me, recording and reliving each narrative, but it fills me with immense joy to do it. Every story is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the miraculous healing that can occur when we nourish our bodies with the right tools. In this first "book club episode, I will read Chapters 1-4 of the book: Chapter 1: Turning Pain Into Purpose and Trauma Into Triumph By Allison Melody Chapter 2: What is a Food Heals Story? By Allison Melody Chapter 3: You Can Transform Helpless Health Struggles into Vibrant Life and Vitality By Dr. Stephen Cabral Chapter 4: If I Can Heal Myself, So Can You By Abby Phon Thank you for being a part of this beautiful journey with me! This month on the Habit Thrive Podcast, we have been talking all about our hearts.
Not that we have spoke on it somewhat on other episodes but we are coming a little different today. It's alway better to bounce off someone else and today guest did a great job at doing so. Knowing what each type of health is and where your trauma that relates to each comes from is only half the battle. But it is defiantly a starting point. The 5D Academy with Zarathustra explores universal wisdom to foster total freedom from suffering in all areas of your life; health, wealth, love, and self. Each Academy podcast contains valuable insights and takeaways to become the best version of yourself and create an authentic, fulfilling life. Zarathustra transmits 5th Dimensional Quantum frequencies in each episode with transformational tools while discussing different topics to help you maintain this new frequency in your daily life. Zarathustra has created a practical system of transmitting the truth to his audience allowing transformation and freedom from suffering. Spiritual development requires an open heart. It is virtually impossible for a seeker to advance to higher consciousness if they don't love themselves. The belief system which has been ingrained in our cellular memory from childhood that we are not good enough results in a conditioned mind. The conditioned mind holds the false belief that there is something missing in our lives, that we are incomplete, that we need to gain something in order to become happy and whole, which is not true. After a life time of searching, Zarathustra has blended a practical system of Eastern and Western methods and techniques to help the Academy members to free themselves from anxiety, negative thoughts, lack of self-love and self-acceptance and destructive emotional patterns through a systematic way to raise your vibration to 5D Vibrational Frequency, which enables you to live a vibrant life of freedom and happiness. The Key Elements To Freedom: Zarathustra recognizes continuity and consistency are the key elements to freedom. In order to help you achieve your spiritual goals, it's best to have a highly effective spiritual practice, free of dogmas, false beliefs and superstition that helps you raise your vibration to 5D Vibrational Frequency as well as the ability to maintain this newly found higher level of consciousness. This translates to a life filled with inner peace, self-love and happiness which is the goal of every spiritual seeker. New knowledge and benefits are gained with each replay. Kathryn Rogers is founder and CEO of Maya Moon Company, the original organic cacao chakra truffles and Maya Moon Collective, a cacao café in San Diego, California. Kathryn launched the company following a 10-year career in strategic brand management and executive leadership in the wellness and sustainable food sectors. After building a successful farm-to-table catering company from the ground up in San Diego, she decided to pivot the Vivacious Dish LLC brand to launch a packaged food product. Maya Moon was born out of her love for the environment and an allergy to processed sugar: so she set out on a mission to create a decadent treat that supports health and wellbeing for their customers and the farmers they source from. Kathryn is working on the ground with organic and regenerative cacao farmers in South America to create strategic and mutually supportive alliances that are self-sustaining. Together, they are tackling issues related to climate change, deforestation and community development as they relate to growing, processing and distributing cacao.Since it's launch in 2019, Maya Moon has grown to include a team of 11 chocolatiers and cacao-tenders, serving up hot and cold drinking chocolate, pastries and cacao truffles at their first brick-and-mortar cafe in San Diego, CA. They also ship organic cacao truffles and drinking cacao to customers nationwide. We discuss: What are chakra truffles? What is ceremonial drinking cacao? What is heart medicine? What are differences in chocolate from various regions? Website: www.starseedkitchen.com

If you don't have your health, what do you have? This is a question that many people ask themselves when they are faced with physical or mental health issues. And it's a valid question. After all, without our physical and mental health, we would be nothing more than a shell of our former selves. We would be unable to work, play, or even enjoy life. So, yes, physical and mental health is important. But how important are they? Some might say that physical and mental health are the most important things in life. After all, without our health, we would be nothing. We wouldn't be able to live long, healthy lives. Others might say that physical and mental health are important, but there are other things that are more important. For example, our relationships, our careers, or our hobbies. So, what is the answer? How important is physical and mental health? The answer is: it depends. It depends on what you value in life. If you value your physical and mental health above all else, then yes, physical and mental health are the most important things in life. But if you value other things more than your physical and mental health, then no, physical and mental health is not the most important things in life. It's up to you to decide what is most important to you. If you ask anyone how important it is to have a healthy mind and body, they'll likely say it's extremely important. What most people don't realize, however, is that our spiritual and mental health are just as important as our physical health. Just like our physical health, our spiritual and mental health can be affected by many different factors. For example, if we're experiencing stress or anxiety, it can impact our mental health, which can then lead to physical symptoms like headaches or a racing heart. Similarly, if we're going through a tough time spiritually, it can lead to mental and emotional turmoil. That's why it's so important to take care of our spiritual and mental health. Just like we wouldn't neglect our physical health, we shouldn't neglect our spiritual and mental health either. By taking care of our mind, body, and soul, we can live happier and healthier lives.

Originally recorded in 2018. Special guest Nicolas Pearson is here to discuss how crystals can promote physical and emotional healing. A gemstone-supported healing journey guided by your heart • Offers hands-on exercises and meditations with more than 60 gemstones and minerals, each a specific heart-healing stone • Explores the anatomy of the physical heart and its spiritual symbolism • Shows how your heart is itself a sensory organ and coordinator of your energy field • Explains how to fortify your heart with emotional strength, reclaim your will, cultivate forgiveness, and nurture romantic relationships in a meaningful way The word heart can be used in so many different ways. We talk about putting our hearts into our work and wearing our hearts on our sleeves. There are people who are warmhearted and those willing to heal your heartache. Each of us has likely known the pangs of conflict between the head and heart. For all the trials and pains of daily living, many people are taught to distance themselves from their hearts in order to avoid folly and failure. The truth is that only in embracing the language of the heart can we truly know who we are and where we are going. Focusing on the role of crystals in the journey to wholeheartedness, Nicholas Pearson reveals how the heart, as the literal and metaphorical center of one's being, has the power to lead us to greater balance, healing, and happiness. He explores the anatomy of the physical heart and its spiritual symbolism and shows how its four chambers are related to the four elements. Offering hands-on exercises and meditations with more than 60 gemstones and minerals, each a specific heart-healing stone, the author explains how to build a better relationship with the heart as your spiritual center as well as how to fortify your heart with emotional strength, reclaim your will, and cultivate forgiveness. He shows how your heart is the coordinator of your energy field and is itself a sensory organ and information processor, working to enact healing on many levels. He also looks at the heart chakra and how the higher heart chakra is evolving. Providing stone-supported lessons for applying a heart-centered approach in daily life, from expressing yourself to nurturing romantic relationships in a meaningful way, the author shows how the journey to wholeness and wholeheartedness isn't always easy, but it cannot be undertaken without first spending time to hear the soft, gentle voice of your heart and embrace the transformational force of inner alchemy known as love. Welcome Back No-Problem Parents! Is your calendar and your "to-do" list causing you to feel overwhelmed? My guest today defines overwhelm as "too much"- too much stuff, too many to-do's, and too many thoughts distracting us from what's truly important. Too much "stuff" causes choice overload and decision fatigue. Meet Emily McDermott, owner of Simple By Emmy. Emily shares how her Eliminate, Delegate, Automate framework can help us free up our most important resources of time, energy, focus, and attention. Addressing Clutter is a key step to eliminate overwhelm- physical, calendar, and emotional clutter impacts our health and well-being as well as our children's health. Physical clutter raises anxiety and cortisol/stress levels in us and is visual stimulus overload for our children. A crammed calendar causes us anxiety and stress because it's impossible to "do it all" (as much as we may try) and it is detrimental for kids to be over-scheduled without being able to have the space and time for unstructured play and rest. Limiting beliefs and negative thoughts, as well as distractions from technology and other sources cause us to feel fragmented and makes it harder to be present with our kids and our spouse/partners. I don't know about you, but I have been an emotional eater for most of my life. It started in childhood. If I had a bad day at school, my Mom would make my favorite food to help me feel better. This lasted even through college; remember care packages? It is no wonder we continue to use food to help us feel better into our adult life. I encouraged this with my children when they were growing up as well. In this podcast, I outline the differences between physical and emotional hunger. When you eat to numb your emotions, it feels better temporarily; but the feelings that triggered the eating are still there. Then you feel worse for overeating, beat yourself up for not having more willpower and the cycle continues. Over the years this way of eating becomes a well-practiced habit. A habit is something you can change; it does not define who you are as a person. You may have no idea you are thinking this way because it is going on in your subconscious. It's like background noise or music you don't notice anymore. Whether you realize it or not; your emotions run the show. The key is to identify your emotional eating triggers. One way to do this is to journal or keep a food and mood diary which will increase your awareness. At first, the awareness will be after you overeat which is OK because you are learning what your triggers are. Then, over time you see patterns emerge so you can target specific actions to take to change this habit.
