Welcome to the first episode of Season 6 BloomSquad! We have such new season, new format, new perspective energy coming into this one, and so of course we had to get on the topic of nostalgia while we transition into this new year of Blooming. With everyone reflecting on 2016 at the start of 2026, we simply had to look back at our 2016 selves, but we also got curious about the state of the world then, and how the past 10 years have transpired on so many levels. Of course, fashion, social media and pop culture are major themes to dissect, but so is the political landscape, the #MeToo Movement and feminism, body politics, partying and socialising, the impacts of COVID, and so much more. We can't wait to hear how you resonate with the 2016 of it all. Leave us comments and let us know what comes up for you! We love you, and we're still here bloomin' away day by day xxLove, Tay & Emma

This week on Cultivating Place, Abra Lee is in conversation with Laverne Brockington and Vance Davis, great nieces of Annie Mae Vann Reid, an historic florist and entrepreneur based in Darlington, South Carolina. From the 1920s to the 1960s, Annie Mae tended a thriving floral business that grew out of her hobby flower garden, and grew her community with her. For Laverne and Vance, their aunt's legacy is rooted not only in flowers but in faith and a deep commitment to community. Through dedication and vision, she nurtured spaces of learning, pride, and possibility through this groundbreaking work. The stories passed down through her family offer a richer, more personal portrait of the woman behind the blooms. In conversation with Abra, and in conjunction with her historical research, Laverne and Vance explore the lessons Annie Mae Vann Reid planted, the barriers she broke, and the impact that continues to blossom through generations. Listen in! Cultivating Place now has a donate button! We thank you for listening over the years, and we hope you'll continue to support Cultivating Place. We can't thank you enough for making it possible for this young program to grow and engage in even more conversations like these. The show is available as a podcast on SoundCloud and iTunes. What truly blocks spiritual growth isn't a lack of trust, intuition, or awareness. Most people already sense clearly and know more than they give themselves credit for. The real block is what's been ingrained - subtle spiritual conditioning, purity narratives, and inherited beliefs about what it means to be “good,” “clean,” or “right” in spiritual spaces. In this episode, we explore how spiritual purity ideals can quietly restrict intuition, dampen confidence, and keep people from fully embodying their spiritual and intuitive capabilities. You'll feel into what creates hesitation, self-monitoring, or contraction, and experience the energetic release of what no longer needs to be carried. This conversation is about embodied spirituality, intuitive freedom, and allowing yourself to bloom without guilt, fear, or performance. If you're ready to release what's been limiting your growth and step into intuitive creation, this episode will meet you exactly where you are.For ways to work with Emily visit www.emilymarie.com

Fluent Fiction - Danish: From Snowy Streets to Blooming Hearts: A Winter Café Tale Find the full episode transcript, vocabulary words, and more:fluentfiction.com/da/episode/2026-02-03-08-38-20-da Story Transcript:Da: Det var en af de kolde vinterdage i København.En: It was one of those cold winter days in København. En: Snow quietly fell outside, and the city's streets were covered with a white blanket. En: Mikkel sat in his favorite café, "Kafferiet", a cozy oasis in the middle of the modern suburb. En: He sat by the large window, his computer in front of him, listening to the light jazz music that faintly filled the room. En: The café's warmth embraced him, and the scent of freshly brewed coffee mingled with the sweet aroma of freshly baked cakes.Da: Denne dag var dog anderledes.En: However, this day was different.Da: En pludselig snebyge tvang endnu en sjæl ind i caféens trygge favn.En: A sudden snowstorm forced another soul into the café's safe haven. En: Anna stepped in, shook the snow off her coat, and looked around. En: She was a florist and wore a floral jacket that almost brought the colors of spring into the winter-clad room. En: Her eyes quickly caught the perfect empty table next to Mikkel.Da: "Hej," sagde hun, mens hun satte sig.En: "Hi," she said as she sat down.Da: "Er det ikke bare vildt med vejret?"En: "Isn't the weather just crazy?"Da: Mikkel kiggede op fra sin skærm, en smule overrasket over hendes direkte approach.En: Mikkel looked up from his screen, a bit surprised by her direct approach. En: "Yes, it's quite unexpected," he replied briefly, more accustomed to screens than small talk.Da: Anna smilede.En: Anna smiled.Da: "Jeg elsker sådan nogle dage.En: "I love days like these.Da: Det er som om verden får et pause-øjeblik."En: It's as if the world takes a pause moment."Da: Hendes ord fik Mikkel til at tænke.En: Her words made Mikkel think. En: A pause was not something he often allowed himself. En: His life was a tight routine, and that's where he found comfort.Da: Trods Mikkels reserverede væremåde begyndte samtalen at flyde.En: Despite Mikkel's reserved demeanor, the conversation began to flow. En: Anna talked about her flower shop around the corner, about how the flowers slept under the winter's blanket. En: Mikkel shared a little about his job, about the colors and shapes that fascinated him in graphic design. En: Anna became a frequent visitor to the café, always with the same smile and sparkling energy. En: She still sat with Mikkel, no matter how brief their conversations might be.Da: Han begyndte at se frem til disse små afbrydelser.En: He began to look forward to these small interruptions. En: Days turned into weeks, and the invitations to share a cup of coffee became easier.Da: Mikkel begyndte endda at værdsætte de små ændringer i sin daglige rutine.En: Mikkel even started to appreciate the small changes in his daily routine.Da: Så kom Valentinsdag nærmere.En: Then Valentine's Day approached. En: The snow still embraced the city with its quiet charm. En: Mikkel, who would normally choose the warmth of home, felt a sudden courage.Da: "Vil du gå en tur med mig?"En: "Would you like to take a walk with me?"Da: spurgte han, overraskende sig selv lige så meget som Anna.En: he asked, surprising himself as much as Anna.Da: Hun nikkede, tydeligvis begejstret.En: She nodded, clearly excited.Da: Så, hånd i hånd, gik de gennem den snehvide by.En: So, hand in hand, they walked through the snowy white city. En: The warmth of the café had transformed into the warmth they found in each other's company. En: For the first time, Mikkel allowed himself to look beyond the frames of the screen, toward a new and exciting world. En: That day, the snow not only blanketed the rooftops of the city but also the barrier Mikkel had built around himself. En: He realized that routines could encompass new experiences and that a florist could bring color to even the grayest days. This live Transmission was shared inside the first gathering of COMMUNION Blooming, a year long garden journey of community immersed in the planetary energy theme of 2026. The Transmission itself runs approx 28.5 minutes and the remaining 10 minutes are excerpts of my teaching in response to some wonderful community prompts. No community members' voices or thoughts are shared in this public version to be clear! I felt these particular excerpts were incredibly timely with what we are seeing in the world, so I included them as well. You can still join us and access the complete session and start connecting with us in our community garden. This is away from social media in a private space. We would love to be with you there. Get the details and join below:COMMUNION BLOOMING:::If you have an outlier "highly gifted" brain, I encourage you to look into the way this may be the single tweak that has been evading you in your lifelong pursuit of feeling your life is well-lived. Show Notes: Https://wetfyswing.com/869 Sponsors:https://wetflyswing.com/sponsors Blooming olives were popping. Trout were rising everywhere. And Eric Johnson was sitting in a drift boat on the Missouri River, staring at one of those dry fly days you don't forget. What makes this episode different is that Eric isn't a guide, brand rep, or longtime lodge regular. He's the actual winner of our On DeMark Dry Fly Giveaway, and this conversation is a full behind-the-scenes look at what happens when someone really does win one of these trips. From the prize pack to the lodge vibe to the reach cast lessons and tiny flies fooling big rainbows, this is the whole picture, straight from the angler who lived it.
Happy New Year, Night People. January is a holy month for our community, marking the first anniversary of David Lynch's passing, his birthday, Bowie's birthday, and 10 years since the Black Star passed; and now, one year since the LA fires. Let us reflect. Come with me, wont you, on a journey into the unexamined shadows of the Black Lodge, and it's opposite, the White Lodge, a place where wisdom and peace reside in abundance. Are the notions of these lodges real, like a formica table? Or are we always dwelling on the thresholds of these states of being, passing through and doubling back, like threading a needle, again and again. This is a public episode. Today's plant chat is about plant care variables, specifically how to determine if someone's prescriptive advice is actual fact or if it's based on insufficient information. Unless advice is based on repeat instances of a plant's behavior (like blooming, wilting, etc) with many plants of that particular species, all variables are accounted for, AND the result is repeatable (i.e. you can make any plant of that species do it again), informational is anecdotal and shouldn't be treated as fact. Even my results! If they're based on a sample size of 1 plant, EVEN IF I can show consistency in behavior, until I control variables and do this with many plants of the same species, this is not true science :) If you want to add to the (anecdotal!) results that V's Mix is getting with hundreds of other customers, try it this month for FREE! Spend $50 at ohhappyplants.shop, get a free quart of V's Mix! Sale starts 1/10/26.
