Digital cohort-based learning programs that combine live sessions with interactive assignments and peer collaboration are increasing in popularity especially in leadership development. This is apparent in Brandon Hall Group's recent study “Igniting the Leadership Spark.” Their Principal Analyst Matt Pittman shares his insights on the study and what's behind the growth of cohort-based approaches. Show Notes:Brandon Hall Group Principal Analyst Matt Pittman shares the best practices that make up digital cohort-based leadership development. Cohort-Based Learning Is Here to Stay: Adoption of digital cohort-based learning has jumped from 27% in 2020 to 69% in 2024, driven by the need for scalable, cost-effective leadership development in remote and hybrid environments.Technology Simplicity and Integration Are Crucial: Success hinges on a user-friendly tech stack—ideally with a single access point for learners—that integrates live sessions, asynchronous content, collaboration tools, and progress tracking.Design for Engagement, Not Just Delivery: Virtual cohorts must be structured with interactivity in mind. Tools like breakout rooms, polls, whiteboards, and gamification help enhance engagement, as long as they align with learning objectives.Facilitators Need New Skills and Support: Leading digital cohorts requires facilitators to be tech-savvy and when possible supported by producers or moderators who can manage live session logistics, ensuring smooth learner experiences.Long-Term Impact Measurement Is Essential: Beyond course completion, organizations should evaluate leadership growth by tracking outcomes like internal promotions, retention, and on-the-job performance over time.Read “Leveraging Cohort-Based Learning for Leader Development”Learn more about the Brandon Hall Group Powered by Learning earned Awards of Distinction in the Podcast/Audio and Business Podcast categories from The Communicator Awards and a Gold and Silver Davey Award. Speed Matters: How Career Sites Can Learn from Formula One with Bryan Adams, Happydance

HRchat Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later May 15, 2025 24:58 Transcription Available

Ever wondered what Formula One racing and career websites have in common? More than you might think, according to Bryan Adams, CEO and founder of Happydance, who recently joined Bill Banham on the HRchat Show to discuss an innovative new campaign that's bringing F1-inspired competition to the talent acquisition space. The "Careers Site Grand Prix" pits career websites against each other, measuring their performance in speed, accessibility, and SEO – creating an F1-style leaderboard complete with weekly podiums and seasonal champions. This timing perfectly aligns with Formula One's 75th anniversary celebrations and the iconic Silverstone Grand Prix.Bryan, a two-time bestselling author with 20 years in employer branding and a past guest on our sister show, the People and Performance Podcast, shared a startling statistic that frames the entire conversation: for every second past three seconds that your career website takes to load, you lose 10% of your audience. "You're not up against other career websites," Adams explains. "You're up against Amazon and Netflix, TikTok and Instagram" – platforms that have dramatically reduced our patience for digital experiences. The parallels between F1 and talent acquisition run deep. Just as racing teams seek marginal gains through precise optimization and teamwork, organizations must optimize their career sites across multiple dimensions – load speed, accessibility, mobile responsiveness, and personalization – to create winning candidate experiences. As more candidates browse and apply for jobs on mobile devices, meeting them where they are becomes increasingly critical. What's refreshing about Bryan's approach is his emphasis that creating high-performing career sites isn't just about having Fortune 100-level resources. It's about getting fundamentals right, measuring what matters, and using data to drive continuous improvement, much like successful F1 teams. When asked which F1 team Happydance resembles, Bryan bypassed the obvious powerhouses to identify with teams that "are constantly punching above their weight, constantly relying on ingenuity, creativity, teamwork, new innovation."Want to see how your organization's career site measures up? The workplace has fundamentally transformed, dramatically increasing the emotional demands on leaders at all levels. From managing virtual teams to navigating workforce polarization, today's leaders face unprecedented challenges that require a new set of emotional skills to thrive.Executive coach and leadership strategist Dina Denham-Smith joins Bob Goodwin to discuss her new book, "Emotionally Charged: How to Lead in the New World of Work," revealing how emotions serve as critical data for effective leadership. Drawing from over 25 years of experience coaching senior executives at companies like Adobe, Netflix, and Goldman Sachs, Dina breaks down the misconceptions that prevent leaders from harnessing the power of emotions in the workplace.Dina and Bob explore the powerful "beach ball" analogy that illustrates what happens when emotions are suppressed rather than processed appropriately. Dina explains how leaders navigate the "authenticity paradox" – being genuine enough to build trust while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. She provides practical steps for developing emotional intelligence, from recognizing physical sensations that signal emotional responses to identifying specific emotions beyond simplistic categories. The conversation tackles the current leadership landscape, including how some high-profile CEOs are taking harder stances toward employees in today's tighter labor market. Dina offers compelling counterarguments, explaining why emotionally intelligent leadership remains crucial for long-term performance and engagement. We also discuss the opportunity AI presents to focus more deeply on the human aspects of leadership that technology cannot replicate.Whether you're struggling with burnout, managing team conflicts, or simply looking to enhance your leadership effectiveness, this episode offers science-backed insights and practical strategies to develop the emotional skills essential for today's complex workplace challenges. Support the showFeature Your Brand on the HRchat PodcastThe HRchat show has had 100,000s of downloads and is frequently listed as one of the most popular global podcasts for HR pros, Talent execs and leaders. 5/13 Psalm 46 - Peace in the Storm

Key Chapters in the Bible

When life's storms come crashing down on us, where can we turn? We can turn to the Lord and look for His protection and provision. Join us today as we dive into a wonderful psalm that gives strength and peace in the storms of life. DISCUSSION AND STUDY QUESTIONS: 1.    Psalm 46 is about finding peace in the midst of major upheaval. Is your world undergoing upheaval? If so, in what way? If a person did not trust God in such a storm, how would they respond? How are you responding differently?  2.    How does verse 1 remind us that when we face difficulties, we can find refuge in God no matter what they are? What does the word “refuge” picture? How is this evident (or not evident) in your own life?  3.    The “present help” in verse 1 speaks of active, real help from the Lord. Where have you seen the Lord help you in your storms?  4.    Why kind of devastation is the psalmist referring to in verses 2 & 3? What might this look like in our lives today?  5.    The “selah” at the end of verse 3 is calling us to pause and reflect on what he's just said. Take a moment and re-read verses 1-3 and summarize what they're saying here: 6.    Verse 4 takes us to a place where there is no storm, no bitterness, no division, or hatred or problems at work, health, etc. Why do we need to remember that such a place exists? According to this psalm, who lives there? How are they being refreshed (in verse 4)? How do we abide “there” even when we live in a fallen world here?  7.    How would a river sustain a city in these ancient times? Was there a river flowing into Jerusalem? In verse 5, why was it important for the people of Israel to know that even through there was no river in Jerusalem, the Lord was her sustenance? In practical terms, what does this principle look like for believers today? 8.    Even though God's grace and peace continues in the storm, in verse 6, what do the nations continue to do as well? Why?  9.    What is the Lord's response to the nations in verse 6? What happens with this response? What principle is the author teaching us here? 10.    According to verse 7, who is with us? What does verse 7 say about the impact His presence has in our lives?  11.    The word “hosts” in verse 7 speaks of armies. What armies does the Lord control? Why is this important for us to remember? 12.    Since verse 7 ends with “selah”, how about taking a moment to re-read verses 4-7 and summarizing them here:  13.    Why does verse 8 call us to “behold the works of the Lord”? What works might he be referring to? Why does this strengthen our peace in the midst of a storm?  14.    What does verse 9 show us about the Lord's control over the nations? Why is this important, even when the world around us is the source of our storm?  15.    Verse 10 calls us to “cease striving”. This could also be translated as “be still”. If we're to be still, who are we trusting to act on our behalf? In your own live, are you more likely to be striving or being still the storms of your life? What would it look like to be still in these storms? What kind of faith and trust in the Lord is required to be still in this way?  16.    Verse 11 repeats the encouragement from verse 7. Why do you think the author repeats himself here?  17.    Verse 11 also ends with “selah”. How about taking a moment to re-read and summarize the principles from verses 8-11 here:  18.    In your own life, where do you need the Lord's peace? What principles from this psalm speak to your situation today?  Check out our Bible Study Guide on the Key Chapters of Genesis! Available on Amazon! Is it possible to find hope in suffering? What if we're in a situation that is not likely to change, how do we find hope then? Join us as we study Psalm 42 and learn about how to walk with God in the midst of ongoing suffering. DISCUSSION AND STUDY QUESTIONS: 1.    Psalms 42 & 43 are about finding hope in the Lord, even when our difficult circumstances aren't getting better. Have you ever been in a situation where things don't seem to improve? What did that do to your hope and trust in the Lord? Why do you think it has that kind of an impact?  2.    Why do you think the author, in verse 1, starts out comparing his seeking God like a deer seeking water? What might he be saying about his own pursuit of the Lord? Have you ever sought the Lord with this kind of passion?  3.    According to verse 2, how is his search going?  4.    Although we don't know the circumstances surrounding this psalm, if the psalmist is writing from exile (as suggested by the podcast) who are these people who are mocking him in verse 3? Why would they be mocking him?  5.    If the author is writing from exile, and if he is not a young man, will his situation likely improve? Why or why not? How would that have been a difficult reality for him to work through?  6.    Who (or what) is the author addressing in verse 5? What point is he making? How does this show us that we don't have to listen to our emotions or let them lead us?  7.    Verse 7 is giving us a deep, meaningful message that hopefully resonates within all of us. What do you think he's communicating to us about difficult situations?  8.    Verse 8 is filled with hope and trust. How does the psalmist describe his relationship with the Lord? Why would the psalmist still have this kind of a relationship with God, even if God wasn't doing what he (the author) wanted? Is your trust in the Lord this steadfast? Why or why not?  9.    Yet, verses 9 & 10 show that the author was having difficulty making sense of his situation. What kinds of difficulties might he have been facing?  10.    Despite these difficulties, what does the author tell his soul in verse 11? Why is this difficult for us to do? What have you learned about how to have victory in these spiritual disciplines?  11.    In Psalm 43:1, what is the author calling out for?  12.    How is Psalm 43:2 similar to what we have just read in Psalm 42?  13.    What is the psalmist asking for in verse 3? Why is he asking for them?  14.    In verse 4, where is the psalmist seeking to go? What will he do if the Lord leads him there?  15.    Verse 5 repeats similar wording that we saw back in Psalm 42:5 & 11. Why are these principles so vital to trusting God, even when our situation may not improve?  Check out our Bible Study Guide on the Key Chapters of Genesis! Available on Amazon! One of the most frequent questions is "What is God's will for my life?" To answer that question, we might even be tempted to flip through scripture looking for anything that might help us. Well, flip no further! Today's study in Psalm 37 provides guidance and comfort and encouragement to those who would seek to follow God's will for their lives. DISCUSSION AND STUDY QUESTIONS: 1.    In verses 1 & 2, why should God's people not fret because of evildoers and wrongdoers? How do verse 9, 10, 15, 17, 20, 28, 34, 36 and 38 add to this idea?  2.    What is the exhortation of verse 3? In your situation, what does trust in the Lord look like? What does “doing good” look like? How can you “dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness”?  3.    In verse 4, what promise does the Lord have for those who delight in the Lord? Is this a blanket promise that we'll always get what we want? Why or why not?  4.    In your life, what does “delighting in the Lord” look like?  5.    In verse 5, what does it look like for a “way” to be committed to the Lord? What are some symptoms of a life that is not committed to Him? What is the promise in verses 5 & 6 for those who do commit their way to Him? 6.    In verse 7, what does it mean to rest in the Lord and wait for Him? Why is patience necessary for this? In verse 7, how is fretting an indication that we're not waiting for the Lord?  7.    In verse 8, what are we to cease from doing and forsake? Why?  8.    How are the righteous blessed in the following verses? a.    Verses 9, 12, 22 and 29: b.    Verse 11:  c.    Verse 17: d.    Verse 18: e.    Verse 19: f.    Verse 23:  g.    Verse 24: h.    Verse 25:  i.    Verse 28 & 33:  j.    Verse 30:  9.    Where is the source of these blessing found in verses 4, 5 and 6? Why must true blessings come from here?  10.    How do the following verses describe one who's way is established?  a.    Verse 4: b.    Verse 5:  c.    Verse 7: d.    Verse 9 & 34: e.    Verse 8:  f.    Verse 11: g.    Verse 14 & 15:  h.    Verse 21: i.    Verse 31: j.    Verse 37: k.    Verse 39 & 40: 11.    When you reflect on all the gems of this psalm, is there anything in your life that more conforms to the principles of wickedness than righteousness? Feeling discouraged? Needing to be reminded of God's promises for you? Join us in today's study in a super-encouraging psalm that is sure to bless your time in God's Word. DISCUSSION AND STUDY QUESTIONS: 1.    What did the podcast mean when it said that this psalm, and others like it are part of a class of genre called “Gnomic Literature”? How do we handle this kind of literature and these kinds of promises? Why do we tend to let “exceptions” cause us to lose faith in God's universal principles?  2.    The opening lines of this psalm say something along the lines of: "A psalm of David when he feigned madness before Abimelech, who drove him away and he departed." What did the podcast explain about the inspiration behind these statements regarding the background and setting of certain psalms?  3.    Looking at verse 1, when does David declare that he will bless the Lord? What guidance does this give us about the frequency of how often we praise the Lord? Are there any changes that you need to make in order to be a person who “blesses the Lord at all time” and “whose praises are continually in your mouth?”  4.    In verse 3, what does David call us to join with him in doing? How might you fulfill this exhortation in your life today?  5.    Verses 4, 6 and 7 all give reasons for David to praise God and magnify Him. What are they? Why should these things cause us to praise the Lord more?  6.    The podcast paused to focus on the Angel of the Lord that is mentioned in verse 7. Who is He and what does He do?  7.    What attribute of God are we to see in verses 8 & 9? What should this cause us to do? When you face adversity, is this something you do easily or struggle with? Why?  8.    Verses 13 & 14 show us the path of life that puts a person in position to receive these promises. What does this path look like? Are you on that kind of path?  9.    Who is the Lord listening to in verse 15? How would this kind of person be living if they were in your life situation?  10.    In verses 17 to 19, what do we learn about God's watchful care over the brokenhearted and afflicted?  11.    Glance over verses 6, 15, 17, 18 and 20. What does the Lord do for His people in these verses? As you live your day in light of these promises, how can you be the kind of person that receives this watchful care of God? What happens when artificial intelligence meets human connection in the workplace?  Jesse Harriott, Executive Director of Workhuman iQ, reveals a groundbreaking approach to workplace analytics that's transforming how organizations understand their people and culture.Dive into the Human Intelligence 2025 release from Workhuman, which leverages recognition data to uncover hidden insights about skills, leadership, and collaboration. While traditional HR technologies focus on operational metrics like headcount and turnover, this approach analyzes the human moments that drive performance – when employees recognize each other's contributions and strengths."Human intelligence is about unlocking the data that's been there all along," Harriot explains. "It's turning feelings into facts." By applying natural language processing to unstructured recognition moments, organizations gain visibility into their "culture graph" – how work actually gets done beyond the formal org chart. This creates powerful applications for leadership development, succession planning, and retention strategies. The approach has particular value for identifying "hidden gems" – potential leaders whose contributions might be overlooked in traditional performance reviews. Rather than relying solely on self-reported skills or closed-door leadership discussions, Human Intelligence reveals patterns of exceptional performance based on peer recognition.Ready to transform how you understand your organization's culture and talent? Greg and host Frances Johnson also also discuss the expanded reach and impact of the Goff Institute, thanks to a recent generous $10 million gift, and the broader implications that has for the University of Utah and its students.Eccles Business Buzz is a production of the David Eccles School of Business and is produced by University fm.Eccles Business Buzz is proud to be selected by FeedSpot as one of the Top 70 Business School podcasts on the web. Learn more at https://podcast.feedspot.com/us_business_school_podcasts. Episode Quotes:Helping Students Succeed Sooner: Greg's Vision for the Goff Strategic Leadership Institute[7:52] What I observed at work was this desire that I had to fundamentally help young people, and it was very targeted to young people. Develop [them] and be better prepared for work, but we call it leadership, and leadership is a lot because it can be how you influence people in that. But we've, myself and the people that I worked with when we started developing this here at the university, [it] was to help them be better prepared. It was just this strong need with my personal beliefs that we could help people be prepared for work and today we call that "Be more successful faster" because it's not that they're not going to succeed, but we can help them be more successful and do it faster because of the experiences that we provide. On why Greg brings these transformative experiences to the university[10:58] One of the most important things that they need to do is to learn how to think. So you can be studying finance, you could be studying mechanical engineering, whatever, but you actually need to learn how to think and that's what the university can help prepare people for, no matter what area of interest that they have in their studies. [Next] the importance of being able to think you can do incredible things by being able to solve problems, capture opportunities, and you can do things differently and better than other people if you've learned how to do that. How the Goff Strategic Leadership Institute offers invaluable learning experience beyond the classroom[13:20]  But we would hope that, by being able to… it's not to simulate, but it's to get experiences that you normally wouldn't get in any university for a degree, that, by being able to have experiences and that hands-on experience that reflect the real world, you are in the real world and in an environment where you need to work with other people, you need to work with customers or business owners or whoever the sponsors are for the different types of projects, and that allows you to be able to get a good feel for what it's like. And you, kind of, think, “Well, that's, kind of, easy.” But if you don't get that, then you're going to go learn it on the job. And if you're competing with other people who've had that experience, you're actually disadvantaged, in a way, from that standpoint, because we're not talking about graduate students or people that have a number of years of work experience. We're really focused on younger people as they come out with their undergraduate degree. And being able to hit the ground running, I guess that's really the best way to describe it, is you're better prepared to hit the ground running. On overcoming imposter syndrome[15:48] Frances Johnson: Talk a little bit about how students can overcome maybe a sense of imposter syndrome or a lack of confidence that they actually are prepared to make that impact. When you're hitting the ground running, right, it's not just with the skills and the experience, but that confidence. How do you think students can develop that?[16:08] Greg Goff: Well, one of the ways that we all develop confidence is through experiences, and  one of the valuable benefits of being able to participate in experiential learning is you actually are gaining those experiences that then you can apply to it.  And so the more experiences that  we can help people with,  I believe the better prepared they will be for hitting the ground running. And as you said, Frances, have more confidence and people can see that young people are very prepared for what they're going to be able to do. That's why I think the experiential part of the time at the university, at the Eccles School complimented with abilities to be a good thinker is invaluable.Show Links:Goff Strategic Leadership Institute | LinkedInGoff Strategic Leadership Institute | HomepageDavid Eccles School of Business (@ubusiness) | InstagramUndergraduate Scholars ProgramsRising Business LeadersEccles Alumni Network (@ecclesalumni) | Instagram Eccles Experience Magazine

Few passages are more beloved than Psalm 23 and today we'll look over familiar territory and remember what it means that "the Lord is our Shepherd." DISCUSSION AND STUDY QUESTIONS: 1.    Look in your Bible, just below the title “Psalm 23”. Who does it say wrote this psalm? According to the podcast, how was this author a shepherd of both sheep and people? How might this personal resume have helped him understand more richly that the Lord is his shepherd?  2.    Look up John 10:14, 1 Peter 5:4 and Hebrews 13:20. What do these verses tell us about Jesus as our shepherd? If Jesus is our shepherd, how should we look to Him and respond to Him?  3.    How does the Holman Christian Standard Version render the phrase “I shall now want” in verse 1? How does this help us understand what David means by this phrase? In what ways have you seen the Lord provide for your “wants”? 4.    In verse 2, why does the Lord lead His people to green pastures and quiet waters?  5.    In verse 3, what does “restore” mean? How does the Lord restore His people? Where has He restored you?  6.    What are the “paths of righteousness” in verse 3? According to this verse, why does the Lord guide us down these paths?  7.    Will the Lord ever lead you down an unrighteous path? As you consider your own life, are there any “paths” that you need to forsake because they are not righteous?  8.    What did the podcast say David means in verse 4, that the Lord walks with him through valleys of the shadow of death? Where have you gone through such a valley? When we go through those kinds of difficult times, how does the fact that God is with us, help us?  9.    In verses 5 &6, where is this banquet being held? What is the relationship vibe that you see in these verses?  10.    What does verse 6 mean by saying that “only” goodness and mercy will follow us? How does the Lord provide us with this mercy and goodness? 11.    All in all, this verse shows the tremendous joy and peace that comes from pure fellowship with the Lord. How does this psalm help you abide in this relationship with God?  Check out our Bible Study Guide on the Key Chapters of Genesis! Available on Amazon! Hey, you wonderful and amazing listeners to The Armor Men's Health Show!  Thanks for tuning in again and sharing this with your friends!  This round, Dr. Mistry and Donna Lee spend time again with one of their favorite guests, Dr. Declan Fleming!  They all start off in segment one discussing how cancer diagnoses are changing and how doctors really do NOT want patients to become sicker and sicker which is contrary to some people's beliefs.  Between 1930 and 2006, the cancer rates increased annually but at around 2006, they started to flatten out.  Since then, most of the cancer rates have been going down except for five of them - thyroid cancer, neuroendocrine tumors, stomach cancer, liver cancer and skin cancer.  One of those is due to an unintended consequence from using over-the-counter medicines for GERD!  Be careful when taking these medications for more than six weeks:  Prilosec, Pepcid, Tagamet, Protonix, Nexium.  If you need these medications for more than several weeks, please see a physician because they can be dangerous which could lead to the esophageal issues and even cancer.  Dr. Mistry and Dr. Fleming also talk about fatty liver disease and the inherent dangers with the substances of the liver.  In a nutshell, fat causes inflammation which is the enemy to the body so let's get rid of it!  In the second segment, Dr. Mistry and Dr. Fleming discuss something new in medicine called a "liquid biopsy" which Dr. Fleming explains in great detail about finding cancer and how to treat it better and better with the newest technology.  Fascinating!  Dr. Mistry and Dr. Fleming also refer to possible medical "dumpster fires" (yes, that's a medical phrase) and how Dr. Fleming is the appropriate surgeon to fix a lot of them over other types of surgeons.  The doctors also talk about the different types of cancers and why more aggressive treatments are needed for some but not necessarily others.  Dr. Fleming is a faculty member at UT Dell Medical School and is an Associate Professor there as well.  Voted top Men's Health Podcast, Sex Therapy Podcast, and Prostate Cancer Podcast by FeedSpot.Dr. Mistry is a board-certified urologist and has been treating patients in the Austin and Greater Williamson County area since he started his private practice, NAU Urology Specialists, in 2007.  Donna Lee has worked with Dr. Mistry since 2017 and is now NAU Urology Specialists' Director of Business Development.  She's also a professional standup comedian. We enjoy hearing from you! E400– "Inner Voice: A Heartfelt Chat with Dr. Foojan Zeine." In this episode, Dr. Foojan Zeine chats with Pattie Ehasei. Known as "The Duchess of Decorum" by her 1M followers, Pattie Ehsaei has established herself as one of the leading financial experts today. Pattie's TikTok teachings on female equality in the workplace, financial literacy, workplace decorum, and financial independence for women have over 8.1 MILLION likes—answering questions such as "How do I maintain financial independence in a relationship?" "How do I make and keep a budget?" "How do I maintain my power in the workplace?" "How do I ask for a raise?" "How do I navigate male-dominated industries?" These are the types of questions that Pattie provides real and honest answers to, and they keep her fans begging for more. She has spent the last 20 years in a multifaceted career focused on finance. From managing divisions of banking institutions, business development, investment banking, and raising capital from sovereign wealth funds in private equity, Pattie has seen all sides of the industry and has quickly become an authority in this space. A lawyer by trade and currently a Director of Mergers & Acquisitions financing for a major national bank, Pattie is the perfect example of "tough but fair" and believes that success comes from information and empowerment. Pattie's direct approach, peppered with levity and some real takeaways, made her an instant success and a highly sought-after speaker. She has delivered keynote addresses for numerous platforms and organizations, including Create & Cultivate, the Iranian American Women's Foundation, the Women's Investment Summit, the New England Women in Banking & Mortgage Conference, and the University of Denver STEM Program. She's also been a panelist for events that inspire the next generation of women, such as the Meet Me in Malibu Influencer Panel. Pattie's voice can also be seen in print on Forbes.com and MSNBC, where she shares her wisdom as a financial contributor. We will discuss her highly anticipated book, Never Date A Broke Dude. Pattie gives readers practical advice on finance and romance in this book and breaks down exactly why "a man is not a financial plan"! www.pattieehsaei.com # 1 on the 20 Best California Mental Health Podcasts list by FeedSpot. https://podcasts.feedspot.com/california_mental_health_podcasts/  Check out my website: www.FoojanZeine.com, www.AwarenessIntegration.com, www.Foojan.com Summary Dr. and Pattie discussed the importance of financial independence for women in relationships. Pattie emphasized that money determines power dynamics in relationships and that women should have enough financial freedom to support themselves. They also discussed the societal expectations placed on women and the need for women to have the skills and knowledge to re-enter the workforce after raising children. Pattie shared her experience of starting her TikTok channel at 50 and the challenges women face in pursuing new opportunities after a long period of not working. They discussed the importance of having a strategy rather than just hoping for success. Pattie shared her experience of wanting to become financially responsible but relying on hope instead of planning. She emphasized the need for a plan, whether it's related to finances or career development, and the importance of budgeting and acquiring necessary skills. Dr. shared her experience of spending every dollar she made and not having a plan for the future, which led her to invest. Both agreed on the importance of having a plan for personal and financial growth. Pattie discusses the importance of investing for the future and shares her experience dating a financially unstable partner. She emphasizes that investing is simpler than many think, involving just a few steps and consistent contributions. Pattie explains that her book title, "Never Date a Broke Dude," stems from her own experience, which led her into significant debt and emotional distress. She acknowledges her complicity in the situation and highlights how societal pressures can lead people to prioritize relationships over financial stability. Pattie emphasized the importance of economic independence and self-worth in relationships, stating that when one partner feels they have no choice but to stay in a relationship, they may take advantage of the other. Pattie mentions that her book addresses this issue to help women realize their value and empower themselves to seek better treatment in relationships and life. *iTunes (https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/i...) *Google Play (https://play.google.com/music/m/Inpl5...) *Stitcher (https://www.stitcher.com/) *YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/DrFoojan) *Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/DrFoojanZeine/) *Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/Dr.FoojanZeine) *Twitter (https://www.twitter.com/DrZeine/) *LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/in/DrFoojanZeine) *Tiktok (https:///www.tiktok.com/dr.foojanzeine)

Key Chapters in the Bible

One of the most amazing prophecies in the Old Testament is actually a psalm! Specifically, Psalm 22 which details our Lord's sufferings on the cross. Join us in today's study as we compare this psalm with the Gospels and see so much of what we can praise Christ for!  DISCUSSION AND STUDY QUESTIONS: 1.    Look at the opening words of Psalm 22. Who wrote this psalm? From what we know of his life, did he ever experience the things he's written in this psalm? Who was this psalm ultimately pointing to? 2.    How does the fact that Psalm 22 was written about 1,000 years before Jesus demonstrate the authenticity of its prophecy? 3.    Verse 1 was quoted by Jesus while He was on the cross. According to the podcast, what were two possible reasons for this? 4.    The podcast discussed how many of these verses were fulfilled by Christ on the cross. When were the following verses fulfilled?  a.    Verse 6:  b.    Verse 14: c.    Verse 16: d.    Verse 17: e.    Verse 18: 5.    Looking over how these verses were fulfilled by Christ on the cross, which prophecy most amazes you?  6.    Towards the end of this psalm, David writes about this future victory. What does he say in the following verses:  a.    Verses 19-21:  b.    Verse 22: c.    Verse 25: d.    Verse 27:  e.    Verse 28: 7.    How does the accuracy of fulfillment in the opening section of this psalm help us know that the prophecies at the end of this psalm will also come to pass?  8.    How are we part of the fulfillment of verse 31? 9.    The fulfillment of these amazing prophecies demonstrates the reality of God's message in these verses. What does this mean in terms of how we respond to its message?  10.    When you consider the weight of these words, how might you live differently knowing they are from God and every word will ultimately come to pass?  Check out our Bible Study Guide on the Key Chapters of Genesis! How has our Lord revealed His message in our world? Through nature and His Word! Join us as we look at Psalm 19 and begin to scratch the surface of all the ways that God has revealed His message to us! DISCUSSION AND STUDY QUESTIONS: 1.    The podcast mentioned two terms that theologians use to describe “revelation”. What is “General Revelation”? How do we see it described in Psalm 19? 2.    According to verse 1, what do the heavens “tell” and “declare”? In your opinion, what are some ways that they do this?  3.    According to verse 2, what pours forth every day and night? What are some ways that we see this reality lived out in our world?  4.    Verses 3 & 4 teach about the speech going out into the world. What is this speech? What are some place where we find information from God in nature?  5.    Why is the daily path of the Sun so amazing? What would happen if we were just a few thousand miles closer or further from the sun? What does this show us about God's love for our planet? 6.    The podcast explained that verses 7-14 speak about what theologians call “Special Revelation”. What is Special Revelation? How is it different from General Revelation?  7.    What are some of the benefits of God's Word in verses 7 & 8? What are some ways that a person might experience God's Word in this way? If they are not experiencing these promises from God's Word, what would you advise them to do? 8.    In verse 10, how does David cherish God's Word? What do you think led him to have this view? How does this reflect your own view of God's Word?  9.    Why does David end this psalm talking about his errors and faults? How does God make these realities clearer in our lives? What are we to do when God shows us a place in our life that is out of conformity to His Word? 10.    How does God's Word purity our words and thoughts? Is there any place in your own life that needs further transformation to be pleasing to God?  Check out our Bible Study Guide on the Key Chapters of Genesis! Available on Amazon! 5/4 Psalm 15 - Paths of Righteousness

The question we all need to ask is: How does God want me to live? Psalm 15 asks that question and gives us God's profound answer. Join us as we dive into this wonderfully rich psalm! DISCUSSION AND STUDY QUESTIONS: 1.    What is the point of the opening question of verse 1? What is the author speaking about at with terms like “abide” and “dwell”?  2.    Why doesn't the author simply answer his own question saying, “those who are in covenant with the Lord?”  3.    Is this psalm, teaching some kind of works salvation? If not, then what is it teaching?  4.    Verse 2 tells us, “He who walks with integrity, and works righteousness, and speaks truth in his heart.” What does it mean to walk in integrity? What does it mean to “work righteousness?” What does it mean to speak truth in our heart?  5.    Verse 3 tells us, “He does not slander with his tongue, nor does evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his friend.” How is our speech a reflection of abiding with God? How about not doing evil to a neighbor, why does that reflect a person who abides with God?  6.    Have you ever had a friend annoy you? Or sin against you? How does the phrase in verse 3, “does not take up a reproach against his friend” speak to those kinds of situations?  7.    When a person walks with God, how does this reality change their view of God's enemies in verse 4? How does this reality change their view of those who fear the Lord? Why?  8.    In verse 4, what does it mean to “swear to our own hurt”? Where have you had to do this in your own life? Why does this characterize those who abide with God?  9.    According to verse 5, how does fellowship with the Lord affect our financial dealings? Why? 10.    What is the final promise at the end of verse 5? Why would this be true of those who abide with the Lord?  11.    When you reflect on Psalm 15, these statements can also be shown in reverse… those who walk in inconsistency do not abide with God. Those who walk in wickedness do not abide with God. Those who walk in falsehood do not abide with God. Those who slander others or think evilly of others, do not abide with God. We could keep going… as you reflect on these principles why can't we abide with God and still walk in these ways? 12.    Read over Psalm 15 one more time. Where are these principles true of you? Where do you need more work?  Check out our Bible Study Guide on the Key Chapters of Genesis! Available on Amazon!
