David O'Leary is the creator, a writer, and producer of History Channel’s upcoming series Project Blue Book. David’s passion for the UFO topic inspired him to create this series based on the U.S. government’s most famous UFO investigation, Project Blue Book. The series is fiction, but is based on real cases investigated in Project Blue Book and the two U.S. Air Force UFO investigations that came before it, Project Sign and Project Grudge. The main character is named and modeled after Dr. J. Allen Hynek, an astronomer who aided in the government investigations. Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones) plays Dr. Hynek, and Oscar-winner Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future, Contact) serves as an Executive Producer. The series premieres on January 8, 2019. David is also a Co-Producer on the horror film Eli, which Netflix will release in 2019 and an Associate Producer on Parallel, a sci-fi thriller from Bron Studios also set for a 2019 release. In this episode, we discuss how David was able to get the show produced, his interest in the UFO topic, and his thoughts about the real-life UFO cases portrayed in the series. We also discuss how to balance the fiction with the facts while trying to entertain and represent real people and events as accurately as possible. Project Blue Book premieres on the History Channel on January 8, 2018, at 9 pm central. Guest: Kevin Baillie Even a death-defying high-wire artist has to start somewhere. As a boy, Philippe Petit dreamt of performing daring feats for dazzled crowds. As an adult, his life’s ambition came true when on August 7, 1974, he successfully walked between the Twin Towers, 110 floors up with no harness or net! Our guest Kevin Baillie’s journey also reads much like a film script. By the age of seven, after being inspired by films like Back to the Future, he had already chosen his career path and was best friends with Ryan Tudhope, with whom he would later co-found the visual effects studio Atomic Fiction. With his dream, much determinacy and hard work, Baillie was working at Skywalker Ranch at just 18 years old! Flash forward; Baillie is the Visual Effects Supervisor on The Walk, and along with the team at Atomic Fiction, worked with legendary director Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, Flight) to bring Petit’s seemingly impossible stunt to life in The Walk. In this highly anticipated film staring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, it is the absolutely stunning visuals that make this vertigo-inducing journey so believable, a feat that meant recreating the twin towers and New York in the 70s. Baillie has worked with Zemeckis on multiple films. Remember the gut-wrenching plane crash in Flight? That was his work! His resume also includes work on Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace, Hellboy, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Sin CIty and Star Trek Into Darkness.

Welcome to another episode of 'The Behind The Scenes Show' with Eric Fell and Shaun Stewart. This week we take at three movies that premiered at the Cannes International Film Festival. First its Jim Carrey's 'A Christmas Carol', followed by a look at 'Agora' and Quentin Tarantinos 'Inglourious Basterds'. Charles Dickens' timeless tale of an old miser who must face Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet-to-Come, as they help to bring kindness to his otherwise cold heart. The Ghosts remind him of the man he used to be, the hard truth of what the world is today, and what will happen if he does not strive to be a better man. Set around Christmas, the most joyous day of the year, Scrooge realizes the sharp contrast of his own personality. Jim Carrey plays four separate roles in this updated version of A Christmas Carol. Carrey portrays Scrooge, as well as the three ghosts (Past, Present, and Yet-to-Come). His dynamic character roles keep the four characters as diverse as being played by four actors. Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future trilogy) has his chance to dabble in telling a story through the windows of time, as he directs the long-awaited remake. In theaters Nov. 6, 2009. A historical drama set in Roman Egypt, concerning a slave who turns to the rising tide of Christianity in the hopes of pursuing freedom while also falling in love with his master, the famous female philosophy professor and atheist Hypatia of Alexandria. Directed by Alejandro Amenábar and starringRachel Weisz and Max Minghella Inglourious Basterds begins in German-occupied France, where Shosanna Dreyfus (Mélanie Laurent) witnesses the execution of her family at the hand of Nazi Colonel Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz). Shosanna narrowly escapes and flees to Paris, where she forges a new identity as the owner and operator of a cinema. Elsewhere in Europe, Lieutenant Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) organizes a group of Jewish soldiers to engage in targeted acts of retribution. Known to their enemy as "The Basterds," Raine's squad joins German actress and undercover agent Bridget Von Hammersmark (Diane Kruger) on a mission to take down the leaders of The Third Reich. Fates converge under a cinema marquee, where Shosanna is poised to carry out a revenge plan of her own...
