Have you ever needed a fresh start, a new beginning that provided some hope, just the potential for joy or satisfaction? Maybe it was a job, a relationship, new form of self-discipline that might provide that fulfillment or peace you long for. This world constantly offers false hope for peace, but none of them will ever bear the weight, the price of real peace. What happens when those things you’ve pinned your hope for peace on unravel or collapses? It’s the opposite of peace. Scripture calls it shame. That feeling of not measuring up, feeling unworthy or defective. These false hopes always fail, leaving their victims in shame, still searching, & even more restless than we were before. Shame is one of the worst experiences of human nature. I think all of us desire its opposite… Peace. But what is peace really? How do you know if you have attained it? If you have, how can you keep it or maintain it?

More broken than we know, more loved than we can comprehend. Welcome to the weekly sermon podcast of Grace Church Bellingham.
Justification places us in a status as having never sinned, and there are six blessings that come from this: 1) We have peace with God. We’re no longer at war with Him;. 2) We stand in grace. It’s like having a backstage pass to be in the presence of the Lord; 3) We rejoice in the hope of the glory of God – a hope-filled certainty; 4) We have glory in suffering – we’ll never go through it alone and it will always work something out in us; 5) We are saved from wrath; and 6) We can rejoice and boast in God.

Who Am I? The Question of Our Identity
We exist to ignite a passion in every person to glorify and enjoy God everywhere and in everything.
Because of justification through Christ, we can have peace with God, we are loved by God, and we are forever reconciled to God.
There are glorious results of being justified by faith in Christ. Romans chapter 5 lists several of the effects or results in the lives of those who put their faith in Jesus and are made right with God through faith. Here are some of those effects that Pastor Keith expounds on in this sermon: We have peace with God V1, We have grace sustaining us (V2), We rejoice in hope of the glory of God (V2b), We rejoice in suffering (V3), We have the love of God poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit and we get the indwelling presence of the Spirit (V5), We have assurance of God's love and our salvation (V6-10), We rejoice in God (V11) and we have friendship with God (V11).

God shows his love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. By the work of Christ we are reconciled to God. If we are reconciled we do not have to fear the wrath of God. We will be delivered.
This is a stand alone message on Experiencing God from Pastor Ben Mangrum out of Romans chapter 5.
Christ's Peace is not Passive Peace. God has planted the desire for peace within our hearts. Some of our anxiety comes from concern for daily needs. Some of us are troubled because of guilt.
With Jesus, and His substitutionary atonement, you have benefits, and they are positively wonderful. That is what we will look at today.
In this message, Pastor Jim Samra explains what it means to be reconciled to God in Christ and debunks the lie that God is permanently angry with us.
While we experience the hardships of life, why is it that the Christian is able to rejoice?
