After an incredible two days at the Total Archery Challenge, the Interrupted Outdoors Team sat down to debrief the 2 days of shooting at the Seven Springs Resort in Pennsylvania. John Bennett, Stephen Johnson, and Steve Hallman sit down and talk about the challenging and technical courses they shot over the two days they were at the event. They talk about the importance of taking time with friends and family and what it means to "reset" in the outdoors. John Dudley of Nock On Archery stopped by to answer a few questions and share what he learned from this event and why he cares so deeply about archery and the people that choose to participate in the sport. This week I sat down with my cousin John Merranko. John & I have known each other forever obviously. In fact, some of my most memorable moments as a child have involved this kid and his brother, Peter. John grew up very differently than I did. He grew up in the Mountains near Seven Springs Resort and I grew up in a neighborhood in McKeesport. I wanted to have him on to talk about the differences with growing up in a big neighborhood compared to living on a 69 Acre farm like he did. We talk working hard on the farm his entire life even to this day and about all the stuff we used to do to keep us entertained as kids like Nerf Wars all over his property, Skateboarding, Not having the internet, and Playing 1 vs 1 paintball in his woods and how that even works. We also talk about his father who was a Narcotics Police Officer in Washington DC when it was the murder capital of the world and he tells me some awesome stories that his dad told him. Fascinating stuff for real. I loved talking to John. He's always going to be one of my bestfriend's. I hope you enjoy this crazy episode and all the crazy stories along the way. Thanks again for listening and if you could... PLEASE TAKE A SECOND TO SUBSCRIBE, RATE, REVIEW, AND LEAVE SOME FEEDBACK. It really helps me out and makes it easier for people to get exposed to I'll Call You Right Back. John doesn't have social media so he said to plug his new favorite spot to eat. Our first episode takes us to Southwestern Pennsylvania for QBP's Saddledrive event. This event brings many like-minded bike shop owners from around the country to learn from each other, and ride some pretty amazing bikes. Wandering the halls of the Seven Springs Resort, I caught up with some of my industry peers. I also sat in on some great brand presentations, and rode bike all over that mountain. Disclaimer: This is my first podcast...I know there are some sound issues that people who really listen to alot of podcasts will pick up on. This is the first in a long journey of getting better at this craft. Thanks for you patience...and remember, content is king (but a good mic helps!).
This week on IAQ Radio we are going to discuss what we learned at the Healthy Buildings Summit 2017 at Seven Springs Resort with three industry pros that were in attendance. For those that could not attend we will go over some of the key presentations from the event and discuss how it affects IAQ, disaster restoration, home performance and other industry professionals. Nate Adams is the founder of Energy Smart Home Performance outside Cleveland Ohio. Energy Smart started out as an insulation contractor for existing homes, but has evolved into doing Comprehensive Home Performance retrofits. Carl Grimes, HHS CIEC, has consulted with people who have questions or issues with the indoor environment since 1987 as President of Healthy Habitats LLC in Denver, CO. Carl is a frequent presenter nationally and internationally, past President of IAQA, and past Vice President of Practice of ISIAQ. He is the current Managing Director of the Hayward Healthy Home Institute in Carmel, CA, and the Hayward Score Director of Healthy Homes. Eric Shapiro has extensive experience in Building Maintenance and Environmental Remediation. He also has a Master Degree in Forensic Psychology from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City. Mr. Shapiro has extensive training and education in IAQ Investigations, Remediation, Diagnostics, Building Science and Moisture Control. He is also an instructor for an IAQA approved training provider and has helped hundreds of people prepare for various American Council for Accredited Certification ACAC certifications. I had quite a photo adventure with Abbey Way of Seven Springs Resort in PA...and all I had to do was ask! Don't be afraid to ask fellow creatives and biz owners to collaborate!
This week on IAQ Radio we are going to discuss Indoor environmental quality inspections/investigations/assessments whatever they are called this week and the 2014 Healthy Building Professional Summit at Seven Springs, PA August 20-22. This yearâ??s event builds on the past four events sponsored by IAQ Training Institute, LLC and the Tri-State Restorerâ??s and Specialty Cleaners Association (TRSCA). Each year for the past 6 years IAQ Training has had a meeting and training with all our sub contract instructors and friends in the Laurel Highlands of southwestern PA. We teach all three levels of the Indoor Environmentalist course Foundations, Intermediate and Advanced along with other programs designed to bring together the contractors, consultants, building owners and others. This year the event has grown to the point where we can graduate to the big leagues of facilities at Seven Springs Resort in Champion, PA.
