Corrie ten Boom's Ding-Dong Principle, and walking in freedom.
Arsenal survived one of the season's most chaotic afternoons at the London Stadium to remain top of the Premier League — but this was far from a comfortable title-race performance. The panel breaks down Arsenal's dominant opening spell, the tactical structure that initially overwhelmed West Ham, and why the game completely changed following Ben White's injury and Mikel Arteta's controversial reshuffle. There's detailed discussion around Declan Rice moving to right back, Martin Zubimendi's difficult introduction into the game, and whether Arteta once again overthought a high-pressure moment. The episode also focuses heavily on David Raya's enormous late save from Matías Fernández, with debate over where it ranks among Arsenal's most important moments of the season.Martin Ødegaard's substitute cameo, Leandro Trossard's decisive winner, and Arsenal's ability to survive difficult moments under pressure are all analysed as the title race enters its final weeks. The second half of the show is dominated by VAR controversy after West Ham's stoppage-time equaliser was ruled out for a foul on David Raya. The panel reacts to the media fallout, pundit reaction, and the wider narrative surrounding Arsenal's set pieces and corner routines. There's also discussion around Ben White and Riccardo Calafiori injury concerns, the emotional toll of the run-in, Manchester City's remaining fixtures, and whether Arsenal can finally get over the line.A chaotic afternoon. A massive result. If you've ever paid off debt, felt relieved for a moment… and then found yourself right back in it, this episode is for you. We're talking about why getting out of debt isn't actually the hard part, staying out is. And why the way you pay off debt matters more than how fast you do it.In this episode, I break down what's really happening when you keep cycling in and out of credit card debt, even when you're making good money and trying to do the right things. We'll get into: Why paying off debt fast doesn't always lead to lasting change. How quick wins like bonuses can keep you stuck in the debt cycle. The difference between getting out of debt and becoming someone who stays out. Why sustainable habits matter more than extreme restriction when you're trying to save money and pay off debt. If you've ever used a bonus to pay off debt… or tried to cut everything and “be good” for a period of time… or told yourself this is the last time… only to end up right back where you started… this will help you see what's actually going on.Because this isn't about discipline. It's about habits and patterns. And once you shift from trying to get out of debt fast to actually changing how you show up with money, everything starts to change. If you're ready to stop repeating the same cycle and finally build real financial stability, this is exactly the work I do with my clients.CLICK HERE to save your seat for the Stop Overspending Masterclass that's happening on Sunday, May 17th at 4pm Eastern.

Hello everyone! Gráinne has, somewhat inconveniently for us but thrillingly for her, disappeared into the bright lights and late nights of Saturday Night Live UK—which means The Way They Were is entering a brief period of organised chaos. For the next couple of weeks, we'll be popping up in slightly odd places, like a situationship that won't quite define itself. But we're not leaving you stranded, we're lining up some bonus episodes to keep things ticking over while Gráinne enjoys life as a superstar sketch writer. She will, of course, return to her true calling soon: deep, forensic dives into celebrity breakups, with all the relish of someone who's been briefly allowed to forget them. However look out for some Gossip episodes, a special friendship break-up episode and a reality show deep dive with some familiar faces from our recent past! Knowledge of the truth is not the same as being changed by it. In this message from 2 Peter 2:21–22, Pastor Jim Osman brings chapter 2 to its sobering close with a warning that cuts close to home — the false teacher and the apostate aren't condemned for what they never knew, but for what they knew and walked away from.Drawing on two of the most vivid images in the New Testament — a dog returning to its vomit and a sow returning to the mire — Pastor Jim traces Peter's animal theme through the entire chapter and shows how each illustration makes the same point: temporary improvement is not the same as a changed nature. A pig cleaned up for the prom is still a pig. An unbeliever who outwardly reforms, speaks the right language, and runs in the right circles can do so convincingly for years. But without a genuine heart change, they will eventually go right back to what they love most. The sermon closes with two sharp summary points: false teachers are a present danger to the church, and they are a cautionary tale for every person sitting in one. Pastor Jim's direct challenge to his congregation — especially young people who grew up in solid churches — is straightforward: why are you here? Has your nature actually been changed, or are you simply assuming the gospel? ★ Support this podcast ★

In today's episode, we break down the Džeko-to-Karaman connection and why the Bosnian legend is now our best playmaker. We also get real about the defense: Hasan Kuruçay redeemed himself in a big way, but Nikola Katić is quickly becoming a liability we can't ignore. Most importantly, we dive into the Right Flank Disaster. Was Timo Becker's substitution the turning point we needed? Why did Mertcan Ayhan look so much more composed, and why—for the fifth game in a row—did we fail to stop a pacy winger like John Tolkin?

Andy and Randy get in to what ended up being the best CFB Playoff game that we have seen so far.
Arsenal return to the top of the Premier League after a 2–1 win over Brighton, but the performance once again raises familiar questions. The Gunners dominate large spells at the Emirates — racking up 2.8 xG, 24 shots and total territorial control — only to let the game drift into nervous territory late on, with David Raya forced into a crucial save to preserve the win.We break down a first half that should have put the game out of sight, including missed chances for Bukayo Saka and ongoing concerns around Arsenal's finishing. Martin Ødegaard scores his first goal of the season in trademark fashion, while Declan Rice adapts to an unfamiliar role and Arsenal's structure continues to generate chances without the ruthless edge to kill games. The second half sees a worrying 15-minute spell where Arsenal retreat, stop engaging high up the pitch, and invite Brighton back into the contest. We discuss Raya's intervention, the defensive adjustments that followed, and whether this “control then retreat” pattern is becoming a recurring issue. There's also frustration with refereeing decisions, including a controversial challenge on the goalkeeper and VAR inconsistencies across the weekend. We cover all the major talking points from Gameweek 17 in Whip Around the Grounds, with results from Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Aston Villa and more.In VARse, we analyse key officiating decisions from Old Trafford, the City Ground and Stamford Bridge, ranking what was contentious, what was ridiculous, and where the laws continue to be applied inconsistently. Finally, we look ahead to Arsenal vs Aston Villa. With Villa winning games while being outshot and outperforming their xG, and Arsenal struggling to convert dominance into comfort, we assess the tactical battle, injury concerns, likely line-ups, and what Mikel Arteta must get right this time around.Chapters:(00:00) – Arteta's Non-Negotiables Intro(01:40) – #ARSBHA Pre-Match, Injuries & the Return of Big Gabi(03:18) – Starting XI: Rice at Right Back?(04:52) – Stats, Arsenal Domination & Missed Early Chances(07:45) – Saka Shooting Volume vs End Product(12:12) – Ødegaard's First Goal of the Season(15:32) – Chances, xG and Why This Game Should've Been Dead(18:18) – Referee & Goalkeeper Challenge Controversy(21:42) – Second-Half Control & Set-Piece Pressure(24:42) – Brighton Goal: Freak Moment or Structural Issue?(27:26) – Fifteen-Minute Retreat & Loss of Engagement(28:06) – Raya's Match-Saving Intervention(30:02) – Martinelli's Impact, Late Chances & Full-Time Reflection(34:34) – Big Takeaways from the Brighton Win(38:37) – PT.2: Who Am I? Twenty-two days ago, a mysterious advent calendar arrived on Officer Matthew Klein's doorstep — no sender, no explanation, just twenty-four doors and a carved bearded face with hollow eyes. Since then, Marshport has become a graveyard. The entity behind it has a name now: Zurvan, an ancient demon whose mid-winter worship culminates on December 24th — the same demon that ten-year-old Matthew and his seven-year-old brother Steven accidentally summoned through a spirit board on Christmas Eve, 1995, the night their house burned to the ground. Zurvan has possessed Matthew's best friend, his own son, and a detective whose head he twisted completely around. On December 22nd, he proved the Bible verse about Legion true — the decomposing corpse of Wilbur Ward rose from the basement, levitated through the hallway, and snapped Pastor Hart's neck like kindling. Matthew's world went dark. The demon's final words echoed into oblivion: "Time's up." Two doors remain. Two days until Zurvan's celebration officially arrives.Get the print version of the novel: https://weirddarkness.com/AdventOfEvil#WeirdDarkness #ChristmasHorror #HolidayHorror #SupernaturalThriller #HauntedCalendar #DarkChristmas #HorrorStory #DemonicEvil #CreepyTales #YuletideTerror
