Kristen speaks with Dottie Levine, a local musician and music teacher who decided to begin a door to door serenade service to bring joy to others during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dottie had been teaching music lessons, but during the Coronavirus pandemic, students stopped showing up for even the lessons they’d previously paid for. Zoom lessons eventually offered them another option, but in the meantime, Dottie decided to start a serenade business as a source of income and a way of brightening the lives of others during this time. Check out www.singinggram.net, or Dot’s YouTube page for performance videos and more information. If you’re looking for a unique and memorable gift for someone, Dottie’s Serenade Service is your answer. The variety of songs offered is really great too! Dot takes requests, and can perform everything from Billy Joel to the Spider-Man Theme! Sort of like BEN-FM! Playing anything they feel like.

Look out, Save Roommates--it's your Neighborhood Spidercast! That's right, this week we're going all in for Save Room Reviews and reviewing Marvel's Spider-Man for the Playstation 4. This is a game that we've been looking forward to playing for years now and we can easily say that within minutes of controlling Spider-Man, this game was well worth the wait. If you're new around here, you should know that our review episodes have a different flow to them (that is to say, almost no coherent flow). We open the episode with some overview and our impressions of the game, but as this episode implies--this is a spoiler cast. The majority of this episode is very spoiler heavy. We make a distinction for what's spoiler-free and what isn't, so if you have not beat the game: web up your ears and do yourself a favor by finishing the story first. When you're all caught up this episode (and our impromptu Spider-Man movie podcast within the podcast) will be awaiting you. We hope you enjoy this episode as much as we enjoyed recording it. As it stands, Marvel's Spider-Man is the most fun we've had with a game all year and easily the best Spider-Man game of all time. Spoilers or not, we think you'll agree that it is a standout title. ------------------------------------------ -Marvel's Spider-Man "Main Theme" by John Paesano, courtesy of Paesano, SIE, and Marvel. -1967 Spider-Man Theme by Paul Francis Webster and Robert Harris, courtesy if Webster, Harris, and RCA Studios. ----------------------------------------

So today I talk about movie soundtracks/themes. This one is about Spider-Man (2002) theme and how dark and out of place it sounds...but then again it doesn’t? I hope you like it.

We take a break from our regular schtick to bring you something special: Matt & Brett Love Comics! in association with Left Handed Radio present The Sequel Machine. The Sequel Machine recruits 24 writers to write the sequels for film’s biggest franchises, one page at a time. The catch: the writers only get to read the page before theirs in a round-robin, exquisite corpse style. The end result is hilarious, twisted, and about as coherent as any other misguided Hollywood sequel. This is Spider-Man 4. Written by: Brett White, Aaron Burdette, Frank Hejl, Anna Rubanova, Adam Bozarth, Jason Saenz, Taylor Moore, Dan Chamberlain, Beth Appel, Ben Stadler, Ari Scott, Kerry McGuire, Mike Scollins, Dru Johnston, Katey Healy-Wurzburg, John Freiler, Jon Bershad, Chris Schell, Chris Wilkes, Dave Bluvband, Kevin Hines, Will Hines, Erik Tanouye, and Matt Little. Performed live by: Jeremy Bent, Adam Bozarth, Aaron Burdette, Dan Chamberlain, Matt Little, Taylor Moore, Cathryn Mudon, Anna Rubanova, and Brett White. Featuring Michael Hartney as esoteric comic-book comedian Nicky Gold. See the next Sequel Machine show live: Dark Knight 4. UCB Theater East, 3rd Street & Avenue A. Thursday, September 6th, 7:30 PM.
