What if the future of mental health, entrepreneurship, and AI wasn't just evolving… but being completely rebuilt? In this powerful episode of the HINESIGHTS Podcast, I sit down with visionary founder, technologist, and creative force Anthony Armand Placet, the mind behind SYNDKIT (S.Y.N.D.K.I.T.), a groundbreaking platform revolutionizing how founders connect with investors, raise capital, and build companies in the age of AI.This is not just a conversation. This is a blueprint for the future.Anthony breaks down how AI-powered tools are eliminating barriers to entry, how anyone can now build, fund, and scale ideas faster than ever, and why purpose-driven entrepreneurship is one of the most powerful tools for mental health and human connection. We go deep into:
The NFL just made a historic decision that could change the future of mental health in sports, business, and society.Every single NFL team is now REQUIRED to have a full time mental health professional on site.Required.That one word changes everything.Because when mental health care is optional, stigma still wins. People hesitate. They wait. They suffer in silence. But when it is required, access is built in. Barriers are removed. Lives are protected. This is not just policy. This is prevention. This is suicide prevention in action. And I know exactly why this matters. There was a moment in my life where if someone had intervened just a little sooner, everything could have changed faster. That is why this move by the NFL is so powerful. This decision proves what we have been saying for decadesYou cannot separate mental health from performanceBehind every athlete is a human beingBehind every human being is a mind that can struggleWhen that struggle goes unseen, unheard, or untreated, we lose people. Quietly. Tragically. This is bigger than football. This is a global wake up call to every industry, every CEO, every leader, every organizationStep upDo betterProtect your peopleImagine workplaces where mental health support is immediateWhere employees do not have to search for helpWhere asking for support is normalWhere care is part of the cultureThat world would meanLess burnoutLess anxiety and depressionLess suicideMore connectionMore resilienceMore humanityThis is what leadership looks like in 2026Not just profitNot just productivityBut PEOPLEThe NFL has drawn a line in the sandNow every industry has a choiceFollow or fall behindBecause the future belongs to organizations that understand this truthIf you take care of the mind, everything else followsIf this message resonates with you, share it. Kevin speaks about faith, purpose, and the importance of continuing forward even in the midst of pain. He reminds us to think about the moments, people, and experiences we would miss, and how those possibilities can anchor us in difficult times. We also talk about the power of storytelling and speaking up. Kevin shares how opening up about his experience has impacted others, with many people sharing that his story helped them choose to stay. He emphasizes that giving to others, sharing truth, and creating space for honest conversations can change lives. This episode is a reminder that suicidal thoughts are not the truth, pain does not have to be the end, and with time, effort, and support, things can get better.Attend Kevin's talk: tri-c.edu/kevinhinesConnect with Kevin: https://kevinhinesstory.com/

In this episode of The Healers Café, Manon Bolliger, speaks to Frank, who discussed his mental health struggles, including major depressive disorder and chronic suicidal ideation, and how humor helps him cope. Frank emphasized the importance of starting conversations about suicide, noting that one person dies by suicide every 40 seconds globally. He highlighted the need for empathy and intervention to prevent suicides, sharing stories of how his talks have helped individuals. Frank aims to save a life a day through his work. For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/frank-king Highlights from today's episode include: For some people, suicide is always an option their brain offers, even for small problems (e.g., car breaks down: "fix it / buy a new one / kill myself"). Naming it ("chronic suicidal ideation") helps people realize they're not freaks and not alone, which can be profoundly relieving and life-changing. Suicide often results from a cascade of factors, like a car accident with many causes (nighttime, rain, slick road, etc.). A simple intervention—someone asking, "Are you okay?" or showing they care—can interrupt that cascade and literally save a life (e.g., Kevin Hines on the Golden Gate Bridge). You highlight that in contexts like MAID in Canada, people are often met with serious validation of ending life but not always offered a gap—humor, caring connection, or alternative ways of seeing their situation. ABOUT FRANK KING: Frank King, Suicide Prevention Speaker, writer for The Tonight Show for 20 years, speaker and comedian for 39. His speaking is informed by his lifetime of Depression and Suicidality and coming close enough to ending his life that he can tell you what the barrel of his gun tastes like. Turning that long dark journey of the soul into 13 TEDx Talks, sharing his lifesaving insights with corporations, and associations. He's shared the stage with comedians, Jeff Foxworthy, Adam Sandler, Jerry Seinfeld, Dr. Ken Jung, Ellen DeGeneres, Dennis Miller, and Bill Hicks, as well as entertainers, Lou Rawls, The Beach Boys, Randy Travis, and Nancy Wilson. On top of all of that, he has survived 2 aortic valve replacements, a double bypass, a heart attack, and losing to a puppet on the original Star Search and has lived to joke about it all. This episode is not for clicks it's for clarity, conviction, and compassion. In honor of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, Izzy revisits one of the most intense and necessary conversations from Season 5 this time with a sharper lens, deeper vulnerability, and real-world commentary on what's changed (and what hasn't) since that original question was first posed: Is suicide selfish?Izzy opens up about his own past thoughts of unaliving, the pain of losing a close friend in 2021, and the quiet desperation that lives inside so many young men today. We explore Kevin Hines' powerful survival story after jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge and why so many people are silently begging to be seen, not saved by a sermon or a hot take, but seen in their struggle.Throughout the episode, Izzy also unpacks how rejection, isolation, and financial pressure weigh heavily on Black men, even when there's no diagnosed mental illness. When therapy feels inaccessible or "not for us," some brothers turn to AI like ChatGPT for answers, or worse, they retreat in silence. There is also an intense conversation about suicide pods and the financial stress that leads men to "hitting licks". This episode challenges that. With moments of honesty, comedy (because we need to breathe), and gut-punching truth, Izzy poses questions that demand soul-searching: Do we truly check in on the "strong" friends? Are we calling out for help without knowing it? Is our silence costing someone else their life? If you've ever wrestled with the thought, “Do I belong here?” — this episode is your reminder that you do. You're not alone. HINESIGHTS Podcast — Dr. John Gibson: Cameron's Legacy, Hope in ActionContent note: suicide loss, survival, and recovery. In this deeply personal, compassionate conversation, I sit down with Dr. John Gibson, father of Cameron, who died by suicide. John and his wife have transformed unimaginable grief into life-saving purpose through The Canmore Trust, a UK charity funding lived-experience education, compassionate training, and safer systems of care. Please visit and support their work: https://TheCanmoreTrust.co.ukJohn shares a moment that changed both of our lives. He was sitting in a seminar at the International Association for Suicide Prevention Congress in Vienna, Austria when I walked in. He recognized me and whispered, “This is Kevin Hines,” and he began to cry. Some time earlier, during his own darkest hour after losing Cameron, John had found a YouTube clip of me describing my instant regret the millisecond I leapt from the Golden Gate Bridge. That message cut across his suicidal thinking—and stopped him from taking his life. After that, John picked up my second memoir, The Art of Being Broken. He told me he read it in four hours flat, and in those pages he discovered the power of narrative—that telling your story can save other lives. He felt a spiritual calling to speak Cameron's name, share their family's journey, and move hope into action. Today, through The Canmore Trust and his courageous testimony, Cameron's story is saving lives. If you've lost someone, if you're supporting a loved one, or if you're carrying your own pain, I hope this episode meets you with gentleness and strength.
