It's Marvel Monday and Spider-Man is going on vacation! ABOUT SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME Peter Parker decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter's plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks are quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent. Nick Fury is impressed.  Back in New York,  the school year at Peter's school has restarted after those erased by Thanos returned five years later. So things are a bit wacky there. Still grieving the death of his mentor, Tony Stark, Peter Parker joins his classmates on a two-week trip across Europe, hoping to tell MJ how he feels about her. Happy tells Peter that  Nick Fury is trying to reach him, but Peter ignores the call. He needs a vacay.  The trip's first stop in Venice, Italy, and it doesn't go great. A water monster begins to attack the city. Peter secretly helps protect his classmates while our new friend Howard Beck, aka Mysterio, arrives and defeats the monster.  Afterward, Fury shows up to meet Peter and gives him something that Tony wanted to give him - advanced E.D.I.T.H. glasses. Let's jsut say they're very powerful.   Peter declines Fury's request to join the mission and returns to his classmates, but Fury quietly reroutes the school trip to Prague where, uh oh, the Fire monster attacks. Peter fights alongside Mysterio. Afterwords, Peter and Beck are hanging out and Peter gives Beck E.D.I.T.H. glasses, convinced the world needs a hero like Mysterio more then him. Once Peter leaves, Beck reveals the truth. The monsters were never real but elaborate holographic illusions created with advanced projection technology by a team of hurt former Stark Industries employees. Fired years earlier for his unstable behavior, Beck orchestrated the attacks to portray himself as the world's newest superhero. With control of E.D.I.T.H. and its drone arsenal, he plans to create even larger illusions and cement his status as an Avenger-level protector. After MJ reveals that she knows Peter is Spider-Man, she shows him a damaged projector she recovered from the Prague battle, leading them to realize that Beck is a bad guy. Peter rushes to Berlin to warn Fury, but Beck traps him in a series of illusions.  Peter survives the attack and wakes up in the Netherlands, where he contacts Happy Hogan. Happy flies him to London, where Beck is staging his big illusion. Beck also plans to eliminate Peter's classmates, fearing they could expose his fraud. Peter battles through Beck and is able to use his his Spider-Sense to defeat him. He get the E.D.I.T.H. Back and  defeats Beck.  , Peter and MJ meet back up and kissss! They get to New York and starts dating which means flying through the streets together. Marissa Benedict was born in San Francisco, California and raised in Marin County where she started playing piano at age 7, violin at age 9 and trumpet at age 10 (studying with Joe Alessi, Sr.). She continued playing all three instruments until graduating from high school and moving to Los Angeles to attend USC, earning a Bachelor of Music degree in Trumpet Performance (June 1984), studying with Boyde Hood. Marissa is the Assistant Professor of Trumpet at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Before leaving for Minnesota she was a freelance trumpet player in Los Angeles for 34 years. She is currently principal trumpet for The Pasadena Symphony/Pasadena Pops and plays regularly with the Minnesota Orchestra, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and Los Angeles Master Chorale. Marissa recently performed and recorded Mahler's 8th symphony in the Minnesota Orchestra's Mahler Project, played for Charles Lazarus' CD Merrier and Brighter (2022), Jack Stamp's Chamber Music Volume 1 (released July 2023), and the Los Angeles Trumpet Ensemble's Homage (release: August 2023), featuring eight of the top trumpeters in Southern California. She also toured with the L.A. Philharmonic on their “Boston to London” 2018 tour, and on 2019 tours to Asia and Scotland. She played for the 2019 Academy Awards (Oscars®) and recorded Celebrating John Williams with the L.A. Phil under the direction of Gustavo Dudamel. A very active and in-demand studio player, she can be heard on nearly 160 motion picture recordings, including Spider-Man No Way Home, Avatar 2: The Way of the Water, Lightyear, Incredibles II, Spider-Man Far from Home, Coco, Moana, Rogue One, Spider-Man, Homecoming, Indiana Jones IV, Avatar, The Polar Express, Spider-Man 2, Monsters, Inc., and War of the Worlds. Her television studio recording credits include Star Trek : Discovery, Star Trek: Enterprise, Star Trek: Voyager and Deep Space Nine, JAG, Commander in Chief and Galavant. Marissa's current trumpet studio consists of 16 trumpet students (Undergraduate, Master's degree and Doctoral of Musical Arts), ranging from Bachelor of Arts, Music Ed, Music Performance, double majors of Computer Science/Performance and MuEd/Performance. All of her graduated MuEd and Performance majors are currently teaching music and/or performing in the Minneapolis area. She continues to recruit and give masterclasses and special guest performances throughout the Twin Cities and across the US and remains very active in the community.
