The Four Horsemen begin their excavation into some of comic's most inspirational runs, starting with the masterful 16 issue epic by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely. The dynamic shifts as we see a lighter Batman and a darker Robin, both operating under the looming shadow of what was Bruce Wayne and his Batman legacy. This series introduces some incredible villains such as the face-eating Flamingo and the twerkalicious Professor Pyg! Join us as we go into the chaotic psyche of Grant Morrison and a slew of artists, with Quitely drawing all of the covers. This is Gotham at its finest, most craziest of times. Legion (ep. 40) by Four Horsemen of Rhetoric Comic Podcast
This podcast is rated M for mmmmmm-ature. If you have weak ears and a sappy heart, you might wanna stop listening to this at the end cuz it gets a bit South Park-y and vulgar. I love that you can just add a y to any word to make it an adjective. But do you know what I love more?? How fun this podcast was! Well I hope you enjoy it! fourhorsemenofrhetoric.com
Hey everybody! Remember that movie that came out about two months ago called Spider-Man: Homecoming??? Imagine a world where death has been cured...now listen to a podcast about it. Hope you enjoy! fourhorsemenofrhetoric.com
Episode 36 and the second entry of the Everyday Podcast Until Adrian is Current on the Podcasts Extravaganza!!!! Just rolls off the tongue doesn't it. Ok, for realsies, this podcast is kinda old, but also kinda awesome, because it features friends and podcasters Sergio the Barber and Chris Martinez. The Horse Peeps get all confused about infinity stones and talk way too much about how the Grinch is Thanos' long lost Summer Camp Instructor or something weird. Anywhoooooo- get it, like a Who? Like from Dr. Seuss's how the Grinch stole, anyway... enjoy! fourhorsemenofrhetoric.com
The Horsemen are back after a month long hiatus, of posting that is! Meaning that you (the listeners) will get lots (of podcasts) and is this (how parenthesis works?. I doubt it! The Four Horsemen become five again in an attempt to dive into the awesome world of Wonder Woman! Featuring returning podcaster Hadith Rosales and newcomer Lizette Luna, they add a level of amazing that was lacking with all the sweaty dudes that usually inhabit this podcast. Lighter on the fart jokes, but much heavier on the insight, sprinkled with fecal jokes. Enjoy your dose of comic-y rhetoric! And if that wasn't enough, join us at fourhorsemenofrhetoric.com
Welcome to Episode 32 of the Four Horsemen of Rhetoric Comic Podcast! This week we talk about Garth Ennis, Steve Dillon, and um, Seth Rogen's Preacher!? The quintet get down and dirty with the word of God, or at least Jesse Custer's version of the word of God. Due to time constraints and editing powers, they had to take out a 45 minute rant about Adam Sandler and his films, um, you're welcome! So without further ado, well, ok, maybe a little ado, Preacher!!! Bla bla bla son of a Preacher man... Visit us on Twitter or on our website… fourhorsemenofrhetoric.com
Welcome to Episode 31 of the Four Horsemen of Rhetoric Comic Podcast! This week we talk about Marvel's own Batman, but not really, the Fist of Honshu himself…Moon Knight!!! The Horsemen go through the history of the character and discuss in detail the current run by Jeff Lemire and examine the themes that it offers, including perspective-based reality, Identity Disorders, and the construction and division of one's psyche. Whew…it goes super duper Freudian in this podcast, but of course there are a few dick and fart jokes, so there's that. Come on, you can't expect the Horsemen to get too serious now can you? Visit us on Twitter or on our website… fourhorsemenofrhetoric.com
Welcome to Episode 30 of the Four Horsemen of Rhetoric Comic Podcast! To commemorate 30 weeks of Podcasting we are going to release 4 episodes in a row this week (not because the editor is behind, stop overthinking gosh!). This episode is an analyzation of the Injustice video games as well as the comic series. For the activity this time around the Horsemen make up fight scenarios to pair this discussion of the fighting game series. We have Robin (Damian Wayne) vs. Hit Girl! One Punch Man vs. Doctor Manhattan! Superman vs. Goku! and Darkseid vs. Thanos! Who wins these fights!? Listen to the podcast and find out, and oh yea, lots and lots of tangents and debate. Oh man, the guys get hot and heavy and argue philosophy, government, and oh yea, comics! Also for more info and shenanigans, visit fourhorsemenofrhetoric.com
This time around the Four Horsemen are really only four, again. Yet this time it is the Germanatorr who has the germs, haha, LAME JOKE ALERT!!! Anyway, the other horsemen held up the fort and talked about some supernatural DC characters who just happened to form a team to take on that weird model chick with the eyebrows. Not only that, but you are also treated to some Grade A nerdgasms as the team offers a buffet of fanfic a-la making their own Justice League rosters. Some of em even go as far as to justify them (Justifying a Justice League? HA!). Anywho, enjoy my peeps!
Episode 28 has the Podcast fellows going in way over their heads and trying to critique the Blockbuster Juggernaut that is the Marvel Cinematic Space Opera, Guardians of the Galaxy, Volume Deux! These guys talk and talk and I AM GROOT, if ya know what I mean. I mean, of course you do you dirty I AM GROOT! Hey, if you don' t like to I AM GROOT it isn't my fault. Aw man, just listen to the podcast and you'll learn all of the world's secrets, such as I AM GROOT.
Episode 27 includes the first appearance of Issa-El. A survivor of an alien race that was thought to be extinguished but due to a change in continuity, has been revived for the sake of selling variant covers and action figures. All joking aside (laughs like an old lady/emo singer), this week the horsemen talk about Star Wars, Game of Thrones, and Red Hood, duh! Sans Twiggy, but not sans ridiculousness. P.S., what is Sans? Find out in episode 27 of the Four Horsemen of Rhetoric fourhorsemenofrhetoric.com
This week the Four Horsemen increase their power to a hearty and healthy six rather than their weak and flaccid foursome. Is flaccid really the right word? I always thought there was only one c, hmm, well I digress. This week the Sinister Six, wait that's already taken. Ahhh! Scott Pilgrim talk! Yes! That's all you need to know. Also, get your listening devices ready as we go through our own personal playlists to our precious little lives! Episode 25 gives everyone the full cast of the Four Horsemen of Rhetoric again with one small twist. Everybody is naked!!! Just kidding, why would you care anyway? There are no visuals in a podcast, uh-oh, maybe you can hear our tiny p...anyway... This week we get weird and different and talk about a superhero who is also an anime character. Rights to the image go to Todd Nauck and Marvel Comics. Music in this episode is provided by Run the Jewels (Instrumental version of Lie, Cheat,Steal). Episode 24 of the Four Horsemen of Rhetoric sees our quartet act as a trio in the absence of Flasmeskid, but hey, it worked just as well! Heck, maybe better, hmmm, Three Musketeer's of Rhetoric anyone? Three Wisemen?? Alright, he'll be back soon. In this episode we talk about the Luke Cage and Iron Fist Netflix series, as well as shed some light on their comic history and current state. Which is awesome by the way. Don't believe me? Listen for yourself.
Episode 23 of the podcast keeps the Horsemen in the 90s! This week they talk about the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers franchise as well as the new comic books that have been coming out, which are totally tasty by the way! The second half of the podcast focuses on the new film that was just released on March 24, 2017 and the Four Horsemen give it their official rating! Thanks for listening world! Peace!
This week is a two-for-one week where in which we will be staying in the 1990s! An era of colorful pants and the freshest of princes reigned supreme! This episode has a very sick, grandma-sounding Luis Flameskid and lots of talk of nostalgia and the independent scene in comics, film and television. Whew, quite a lot to pour into an hour and some change...Enjoy!
This week, on the 21st episode, the Four Horsemen of Rhetoric analyze their first villain, the Joker. This is fitting since the Joker is known to be the first comic book villain (recurring anyway) of all time. Whether he is silly, chaos incarnate, or the devil himself, the Joker is a scary clown indeed! With "It" being slated for a reboot, it is shown that the world really does need more terrifying harlequins.
Wolverine (ep.20 by Four Horsemen of Rhetoric Comic Podcast
This week the Horsemen discuss a little bit of green and a little bit of lantern. But more than anything, they go on tangents and end up reviewing the film Get Out. Of course I'm kidding, well kind of. If you want to find out and be spoiled there may or may not be spoilers at a=the 55 minute mark. Other than that, the four guys do talk a little bit about the Emotional spectrum, where they fall on it, as well as discuss their favorite members of the Green Lantern Corps. Enjoy!
Episode 18 of the Podcast delves into territory that has yet to be covered. Ms. Marvel is the first Pakistani, Muslim super-heroine in comics and has made a big splash in the comic world, as well as the real world, and her importance does not go unnoticed. In this podcast we welcome guests Hadith Rosales and Abigail Dimas to discuss the lessons that readers and listeners can take from the amazing character that is Ms. Marvel. We beckon you to ask if you feel represented in popular culture, and also urge comics, films, and television to ask themselves the same question. This is the face of America, this is Ms. Marvel!
This week we are embarking on a journey of friendship, family and short shorts. To commemorate the release of the LEGO Batman film we are going to talk about Robin, the Boy and sometimes Girl Wonder. The Four Horsemen, along with Horsemen Zero Cris Cass, discuss their favorite Robins, share a brief review of the film (SPOILERS!) and even create a sidekick for the heroes that they created back in episode 5. So here it is, the ying to Batman's yang. Teehee, Batman's yang. Bat-Yang. Anywho, let's do the thing.
The topic for Episode 16 was chosen by Luis Flameskid in commemoration of the release of Justice League Dark the Animated Film. Deadman protects people using his powers given to him by the Indian deity Rama Kushna and changes the way that people think about ghosts. Deadman melds together the ideas of ghosts, superheroes, and guardian angels. Possibly one of the most underutilized characters in the DC comic cannon, Deadman was a blast to talk about. Thanks for the listen and see you next week!
This week the Four Horsemen of Rhetoric explore the noir-tinged character Daredevil. This choice was brought to you by German and was used as a smooth transition from the world of DC Comics to the grittier side of Marvel. Daredevil takes what some might see as a disability and creates a powerful tool with it to take down crime in any and every way possible, while still undergoing the tragedy that makes an interesting street vigilante. Join us as we journey through the importance and relevant of the Man Without Fear, Daredevil.
This podcast focuses on John Constantine, the Hellblazer. For those of you who are into dirty, pathetic, destructive characters, this is a "hero" for you. His ties to punk rock and alternative cultures made him a perfect transition from the realistic characters that we have been tackling lately. John Constantine is the man that you want to be around, knowing that he is very much bad for your health. He is the reluctant hero and leader of the Justice League Dark, and although he has a rough exterior, he is as much a hero as any flawed human being can be.
