We live in a world that is full of noise. It's all around us - from traffic to television, notifications and conversations. And if the external noise isn't noisy enough, the voices in your head can add another layer to the mix of noise swirling around you. Our world can be loud, distracting and confusing. But we don't have to get swallowed up by it. This Sunday we're beginning a new series we've titled, Sound Doctrine in a Noisy World. We'll be working our way through the New Testament book of 1 Timothy. Written by the apostle Paul, to his young mentee, Timothy, it's a letter filled with encouragement for navigating the confusion of competing voices in both the culture of Timothy's day and in ours. I invite you to join us this Sunday at 11 AM. You'll find us online by clicking the "Join Us Sunday" button on our website or connect with us via our YouTube channel. Or come worship with us in person! Enjoy coffee, cookies and conversation in our Lobby before the service. Connecting with one another before and after the service is one way we get to do life together. We do know that 11 AM on Sunday doesn't work for everyone. If that's you, the service will be available on-demand, so you can watch at a time that works better for your schedule. We would love to see you this Sunday! ----------------------------------- TAKE YOUR NEXT STEP ----------------------------------- Let us know that you were watching with us and you will be entered to receive a free prize by completing our Connection Card: http://dsf.church/ecard Give Online: https://www.simplechurchgiving.net/App/Giving/dsf Message Notes: https://www.dayspringfellowship.com/messages Like, comment & subscribe to stay updated! We open 1 Timothy with a clear aim: build the kingdom with humble hearts and wise discernment. Paul's “trustworthy sayings” pull us back to the gospel while his counsel on teaching, prayer, and leadership forms a credible life together.• why pastoral letters need discernment rather than blanket rules• the aim of instruction as love from a pure heart and sincere faith• warnings against myths, speculation, and empty talk• the law used lawfully leading to the gospel, not pride• “Christ Jesus came to save sinners” as a center line• praying for all people and authorities to witness the gospel• worship without anger, status, or distraction• leadership character: above reproach, gentle, tested, hospitable• credibility with outsiders and patience with new leaders• humility as the engine of kingdom work and daily repentanceSend Mike a quick message! I am not a Pastor, and agree with God's word that women are not supposed to be Pastors. However, all people are called to share the gospel. It is perfectly acceptable and Biblical for women to lead Bibles studies outside the church as an ancillary addition to the church, and especially if it is a viable avenue for study of the Word on a daily basis, like I'm doing on this show, and paving the way for all of us to be closer to the Lord and become more knowledgeable of the Bible.
