Philippians 4:1-8, Matthew 11:28-30
In this special G220 Radio episode, we dive into the rich theology woven into some of the most beloved Christmas hymns of the Christian faith. While Christmas music fills the air every December, many believers don't realize how deeply these songs proclaim the doctrines of the incarnation, redemption, and the kingship of Christ. Join us as we explore the biblical truths behind classics like Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, O Come, O Come, Emmanuel, and Joy to the World—songs that not only celebrate Christ's birth but teach and reinforce essential Christian doctrine. We'll look at their historical backgrounds, unpack the Scriptures that shaped their lyrics, and discuss why what we sing matters for our worship and our witness. We'll also evaluate how to discern the theology of modern Christmas songs and consider how the music of the season can serve as a powerful tool for evangelism and reflection on the gospel. Whether you're a lover of historic hymns, a worship leader, or simply someone who enjoys singing these familiar songs each year, this episode will deepen your appreciation for the truth they proclaim and help you approach the Christmas season with renewed worship, joy, and discernment. Tune in as we let the Word of Christ dwell richly in us—through the songs we sing to celebrate the Savior who came and the King who is coming again.
In this powerful message from Pastor Karl, we journey beyond the manger to discover the timeless roots of Christmas in the Garden of Eden. Christmas is far more than a seasonal vibe—it's the profound story of God's unchanging love, revealed through proximity, provision, and loving parameters.Drawing parallels between Eden and Bethlehem, Pastor Karl shows how God has always pursued us: walking closely with humanity, generously providing what we cannot obtain ourselves, and setting protective boundaries for our good. Yet, from the beginning, humanity has often rejected this love, doubting God's goodness and choosing our own way.The heart of the gospel shines through as Pastor Karl reminds us that even in our rejection, God's love pursues and covers us—first promised in Genesis with the crushing of the serpent's head through the seed of the woman, and perfectly fulfilled in the incarnation of Jesus, Emmanuel, "God with us."This message challenges us: Will we embrace not just the warmth of Christmas, but the weighty claims of Christmas—God's call to love Him fully with our whole heart, soul, mind, and strength through belonging to His family, becoming like Christ, giving generously, and going on mission?A stirring reminder that God's everlasting love didn't begin in Bethlehem—it was set in motion from the very beginning, for you and me.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 8:00am 9:30am & 11:00am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm
The book of Philippians has a common theme of Joy throughout the book. We all face anxiety and worry in this life but what do we do when we experience those things. Paul instructed the church at Philippi on how to handle those emotions in chapter 4.
Today on Sound Doctrine we discover that if you're in Christ, you're no longer condemned, but free! And God has supplied all the power we need to live the Christian life, through His Spirit. We begin a mini-series today in one of the greatest chapters in the bible, Romans chapter eight. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/621/29?v=20251111
Modern Conservatism is collapsing, and it isn't because of the Left. It's because the Right has abandoned biblical order, biblical loyalty, and biblical leadership. In this episode of Uncommon Sense, I'm examining how our so-called conservative leaders have traded Christianity for political convenience, elevating foreign loyalties, unbiblical theology, and female authority over God's clearly established design. When prominent figures openly choose Judaism over Christianity and Israel over America, we must ask: What exactly are we conserving anymore?Scripture is clear: Christianity is a patriarchy with God as its Head, Christ as King, and men called to lead in righteousness. A movement that rejects this order will inevitably rot from the inside out. This episode is a call to return to:Christ over cultureFaith over foreign allegianceGod's elect over globalist prioritiesBiblical men over platformed female personalitiesIf Conservatism wants to survive, it must first repent.--https://www.bible.com/
Today on Sound Doctrine pastor Jeff Johnson speaks of a war within. The struggle we all have with sin is real. But there is a way to win, and Romans chapter seven lays that out for us. Too many people today, including a lot of Christians, try to handle the conflict on their own. That's called pride! Have you ever been struggling with sin, and thought you were the only person going through such a struggle? That's a lonely and frustrating feeling, but you might be surprised to find out, even the apostle Paul struggled in this area. We all battle the flesh, and that battle will continue until we get to heaven. That comes to our attention today on Sound Doctrine, through a study in Romans chapter seven. We should recognize that the law was intended to show us we can't keep it and drive us to a Savior. And we need a Savior who not only can save guilty sinners but also bring about freedom and holiness in our lives. Today on Sound Doctrine we'll recognize this tendency we have so we don't miss out on the true sanctifying work of Jesus! "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so." Acts 17:11
In session eleven, we examine what godliness looks like in the thick of everyday life. As we live in a culture that pulls at our hearts, competes for our attention, and tempts us to drift away from the Lord, it's essential that we heed the warnings found in Scripture and pursue God above all else.Verses Used:1 Timothy 6:1-10Titus 2:9-10Titus 2:12 Timothy 3:16Philippians 4:10-12Discussion Questions:Why are we called to show honor to those we work for, and what are ways we can do that? How does Paul describe the content of the message and the character of those who put forth false doctrine, and what does false doctrine result in, according to 1 Timothy 6:3-5?What does 1 Timothy 6:6 say should accompany our godliness? Why is this quality sometimes hard to maintain, and how can we strive to lay hold of it?What is the result of those who want to get rich and have a love for money? How have you seen this to be true?Instead of treasuring earthly riches above all else, what should we treasure? What should the pursuit of our lives be?
Christians will face tribulation and persecution. We live in a sin infested world. But here's something else you can be sure of… God will be with you in those trials, you have complete access to Him, and you can experience His peace as well. Let's talk about it right now on Sound Doctrine as pastor Jeff Johnson digs deeper into Romans chapter five. Titus: The Character and Necessity of Sound DoctrineChris Hefner
Jim Osman addresses pressing questions in a Q&A covering evangelical concerns and biblical faithfulness. Topics include The Gospel Coalition's theological drift, the modern deliverance ministry movement undermining Scripture's sufficiency, and the Seven Mountain Mandate infiltrating evangelicalism. Osman examines distinctions between essential and non-essential doctrines, female pastoral roles, biblical canon formation, and King James Only errors. He emphasizes that sufficiency of Scripture remains the central battle within evangelicalism today, as experiential theology displaces confidence in God's Word.Questions AskedWhat is the current state of The Gospel Coalition? What do you think about Al Mohler, Mark Dever, and Ligon Duncan's return to Shepherd's Conference? What issues within evangelicalism today should we be on guard against, especially for our children? How do you have a conversation with an unbeliever about God's sovereignty and evangelism? How important is a church prayer chain? What is the Seven Mountain Mandate and its connection to Turning Point USA?Are you a Christian nationalist? What resources would you recommend about how we got our Bible and why certain books were included in the canon? What is your position on female pastors in the church? How do you argue with people who are King James Version (KJV) only? Are there different shades of false teachers, and what about believers who fall into sexual sin like Steve Lawson? What camp would Solomon fall into - believer or unbeliever? What's the difference between Paul's response to the Judaizers in Galatians versus those who preached the gospel with false motives in Philippians? ★ Support this podcast ★

Send us a textIn this week's episode of The Public Square Podcast on the Pursuing Faith Network, Iggy and Pastor Mike dive deep into a topic many talk about but few truly understand — sound doctrine. What does it really mean? How do we recognize it in our churches today? And why does true sound doctrine always lead back to love, faith, and grace? From the heart of ministry to the struggles of leading a church, Iggy and Mike open up about what it looks like to live out and teach sound doctrine — not just as a set of rules, but as a reflection of God's heart.
Today we're trashing feminism some more, because it obviously deserves it. Feminism is not only unbiblical, it's extremely destructive for all of society. We'll talk about why Christian podcasters like Allie Beth Stuckey shouldn't defend their feminism while claiming to follow Christ, and why Christianity itself is a patriarchy, by God's design. It's time for biblical men to stop waiting for permission from feminists and take back the authority God gave them. We'll also discuss more of the Trump administration's mistakes, including this ridiculous new 50-year mortgage idea that proves how far from wisdom our leaders have fallen.
Today on Sound Doctrine we'll show you where real happiness is found. And it has everything to do with confession, sins forgiven and being in a right relationship with God. Pastor Jeff Johnson will be recalling King David's life in today's study from Romans chapter four. It's a wonderful example of how far-reaching God's grace and forgiveness is. When you hear God will save us simply by believing in Him, you might be thinking that sounds too good to be true. After all, the religions of the world all tell us that we must perform some act or good deed to get to heaven. But instead of dismissing salvation through faith right off the bat, it would be wise to look into it. Well, we'll do just that today on Sound Doctrine. Jim Osman examines false teachers through an exposition of 2 Peter 2:1-3, warning believers against three critical dangers. False teachers secretly introduce destructive heresies into the church, not announcing their deception but creeping in quietly while using Christian language and claiming orthodox beliefs. These false teachers promote destructive doctrines that damn unbelievers and render Christians useless and unfruitful. Their depraved desires are marked by sensuality, and their deserved doom brings swift destruction upon them.Believers must beware lest they be deceived by their teachings, seduced by their lusts, or exploited by their greed. The sermon emphasizes that sound doctrine and godly character must go together, as false teachers lack both biblical authority and moral integrity, thereby exerting a destructive influence. ★ Support this podcast ★
When the book of Romans was penned there were a large number of people with a skewed view of salvation. They believed that salvation came through circumcision and living by the law of God. In Romans, the apostle Paul makes it abundantly clear that we are saved by grace through faith. It's a message that needs to be heard and received today.
