On July 8, 2010, then 25 -year-old LeBron James (along with his newly formed production company) used ESPN to air a live television event to announce his intentions for playing the 2010-2011 season. The ill-conceived idea was a major part of launching a new era of player empowerment. However, there was nothing new about the bitter, gut-wrenching disappointment that had become all too familiar to Cleveland sports fans. Rick Grayshock was one of those fans. He was also the co-founder of a popular Ohio/Cleveland-based sports blog, WaitingForNextYear.com (WFNY.com to true fans of the site). I was with Rick on the night of the decision, and I observed what you might expect in terms of the palpable and visible pain that he experienced as LeBron told the world, "I'll be taking my talents to South Beach...". Rick and I sat down recently to revisit The Decision and its aftermath, including LeBron's eventual "reconciliation", and Cleveland's ultimate "redemption", 10 years after the sports landscape was changed forever. Please enjoy my conversation with Rick Grayshock. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jon-cook0/support

The guys welcome back Josh Poloha of WaitingForNextYear.com to discuss how first-year coach Chris Holtmann has revitalized the program in Columbus, the stellar play of conference player of the year Keita Bates-Diop and others on the roster, and the teams who stand in the Buckeyes' way in the Big Ten tourney. … Plus: A look at the scandals hanging over college basketball, the impact they could have on the NCAA tournament, and whether a day of reckoning is coming for some of the sport's biggest names. Bernie Kosar is near and dear to Cleveland fans' hearts. To a person, there's probably not anyone who doesn't want one of Cleveland's most beloved athletes to be well and feel well. Years of playing a brutal sport in the 80's has obviously taken a toll on Kosar and last year he came out heralding the treatments of a specific doctor. It all sounds great in theory, but what help is he really getting from this doctor? What does the medical and research community think of the claims of this doctor and others like him? Senior Editor of Boston Magazine, Jason Schwartz, wrote an article exploring this topic for The New Republic and we had him on the WaitingForNextYear.com podcast to discuss it all.
