This episode is all about change management in arts organizations. Aubrey Bergauer breaks down the research behind building a change-ready culture and how to actually shift someone's mind when facts alone aren't enough. In the season six finale of The Offstage Mic, Aubrey closes out the "Changing the Narrative, Ten Years Later" season by going deep on two bodies of research: the i4cp study "Building a Culture of Change" and David McRaney's book How Minds Change. Together, they answer the question arts managers ask her more than any other: how do I get buy-in, bring my board along, and lead change without strong-arming anyone? If this season has been useful, please follow the show and leave a rating or review — it helps more arts administrators find these conversations.Reserve your free seat at my Audience Growth Masterclass right now by going to www.aubreybergauer.com/masterclass.Sources:I4cp: Building a Future-Ready Organization with a Change-Ready Culture https://go.i4cp.com/changereadyDavid McRaney: How Minds Change https://www.davidmcraney.com/howmindschangehomeSponsors:Bolero: https://hellobolero.com/changingthenarrativeEvolvArts: https://evolvarts.com/

It's rare in personal finance that someone comes along and doesn't just offer advice—but completely rewires how we think about money, work, and what it means to live a good life.My guest today did exactly that.Pete Adeney—better known as Mr. Money Mustache—helped ignite the FIRE movement long before it was trending on TikTok or debated on cable news. His message? Radical, at the time: Spend less, live intentionally, invest wisely—and you might just buy yourself the freedom to walk away from traditional work decades early. And here's the thing—Pete didn't just write about it. He lived it. Retiring in his early 30s, raising a family on his own terms, and building a cult-like following of readers who wanted to do the same.I've actually had a front-row seat to his journey. We first met more than a decade ago, filming in his backyard in Colorado, when his blog was just beginning to take off. Back then, his ideas felt… almost rebellious.Today? They're part of the mainstream conversation. But Pete hasn't stood still—and neither has life.In this episode, we catch up on everything: what early retirement really looks like after a decade, how his thinking on money, family, and even divorce has evolved… and why, despite having “enough,” he's still rethinking what a rich life actually means. Hello and welcome to another special 5th Sunday episode of Trophy Talk. This time Kevin, Colin, and Zac gather to look back ten years and talk about their game of the year for 2016. Over the course of the episode they take turns counting down their top five games from that year and talk about each one at length. These are all their personal favorite releases from 2016, some of which may sound controversial at first. They go into as much detail as they can (without spoiling anything) and make a case for why each one deserves attention years later. We hope you enjoy hearing them reminisce about one of the best years in game releases and what made it so special.
This week on the Major Issues Podcast, the hosts revisit Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ten years later to unpack one of the most divisive superhero films ever released. They break down Zack Snyder's ambitious vision, the film's heavy themes around power, fear, and godhood, and the controversial choices that sparked endless debate among fans. From Batman and Superman's ideological clash to the film's legacy within the DC Extended Universe, nothing is off the table. Did time soften its reception or reinforce its flaws? The hosts take a fresh look at what worked, what didn't, and where BvS ultimately stands in the superhero movie canon a decade later. What happens when political labels lose their meaning and institutions begin to forfeit public trust? Corey is joined by Matt Lewis to reflect on how American politics arrived at its current moment and why many of the warnings raised a decade ago now feel unavoidable. The conversation coincides with the ten year anniversary of Matt's book Too Dumb to Fail, which examined the rise of populism, intellectual decay, and the erosion of conservative principles long before Trump reshaped the political landscape. Corey and Matt discuss how conservatism has been reduced less to a philosophy than a posture, why grievance has replaced governing vision, and how former ideological opponents increasingly find themselves aligned around the defense of democratic norms. They explore the shift from the early blogosphere to today's media environment, where platforms like Substack and YouTube have reopened space for longer form thinking and sustained dialogue. The episode also examines institutional credibility in an age of selective outrage. From Christianity to law enforcement, Matt argues that Trump's politics do not merely divide but actively corrode public trust, reshaping how Americans interpret power, legitimacy, and state authority. The conversation closes with reflections on elections, incentives, and the unglamorous discipline required to write and think clearly in public. This Saturday marks ten years since the fatal shooting of Jamar Clark. On Nov. 15, 2015, the unarmed 24-year-old was shot during a confrontation with two Minneapolis police officers. He died the next day. In the weeks that followed, hundreds of people protested outside the Minneapolis 4th Precinct in Minneapolis — demanding the names of the officers and the release of any video. Protesters marched to the government center and shut down Interstate 94. It was a level of activism that Minnesota hadn't seen before, building on the long despair and anger in Black communities following shootings of other unarmed Black men, here and elsewhere. And it set the stage for protests that followed the police killings of Philando Castile in 2016 and of George Floyd in 2020. MPR News guest host Brandt Williams talks about how protests following Jamar Clark's death took shape and how they changed the public response to police shootings and policing. Guests: Nekima Levy Armstrong is a civil rights lawyer and past president of the Minneapolis NAACP. She was among the leaders who helped organize protests following Jamar Clark's fatal shooting and was an advisor to Black Lives Matter Minneapolis. Raeisha Williams was an activist and communications director for the Minneapolis NAACP in the months following Jamar Clark's death. She now runs a nonprofit organization called Guns Down Love Up. Ten years ago this month, in October 2015, John Boehner's tenure as U.S. House Speaker came to an end … and the influence the House Freedom Caucus held over Republicans was at its height …. REPORTER QUESTION: The Freedom Caucus has caused you a lot of problems. Obviously, here in your final act, you're rolling them. Can you describe your thought process there? SPEAKER BOEHNER: I wouldn't quite describe it that way. We have a bipartisan agreement that makes sure that the debt ceiling is increased and we make good on our -- on our debt and our debt service, and it paves the way to fund the government this year and next. And the fact is is that this will make it easier for the entire Congress for the balance of this year and it'll make next year a whole lot smoother for the Congress as well. That was John Boehner's final press conference as House Speaker …October 27th, 2015… • Does the Freedom Caucus today still cause a different Republican House speaker "a lot of problems"? • What happened to the House Freedom Caucus over the last ten years? • And how are Republican House politics different now from when John Boehner resigned as Speaker a decade ago? Find out in this week's episode of C-SPAN's "The Weekly" as we remember the House Freedom Caucus ten years ago – and where it is now -- with two very special podcast guests: • Paul Kane - - senior congressional correspondent and columnist at the Washington Post • and Leigh Ann Caldwell -- Chief Washington Correspondent at Puck. Another mind bending episode. We continue talking about process where we left off last week, Jennifer talking about her gratitude meditation that she does every night and again in the morning that keeps her on an even keel. I asked Luana Anders, our moderator on the flipside if she had anyone who might want to chat with us. She said Amelia Earhart was here to talk about the book I've just released; "She Was Never Lost: The Amelia Earhart Saga." Now that may sound weird to some - but we never plan our podcasts. And then Jennifer held up her phone and played a clip of the actress Gwyneth Paltrow reading the Kindle version of my book aloud.. That was MIND BLOWING - it comes from the "speechify app" - where you can choose who is going to narrate your book, and as a writer/director/author - who has taken around Amelia Earhart projects for years... I can't tell you how cool that is to hear GP's voice. Our kids went to preschool with hers and I'd see and her mom around the school. I never spoke with her, but she's got a great voice - and hearing her speaking the lines from the book was... I don't know how to put it other than "otherworldly." Because I've written some of the book in 1st person - based on 30 years of researching AE's story, just "giving it a shot" as to what it might sound like for me to "channel" (it's a loose word, I'm not claiming I'm doing that, but it's like that) the great aviator. Then - Jennifer - who has done this before (it's in the transcripts in the book!) said "She's referring to Chapter Five. Well - that is the chapter where I speak in Amelia's voice. While speaking to her through Jennifer 10 years ago, I had a copy of "Soaring Wings" by George Putnam in my hand - and Jennifer said "Something she wants to point to in pg 49." So I looked it up and read it - and Jennifer said "I could hear her voice while you were speaking as if she wrote that passage." The passage was about a fellow involved with planning her "Last Flight." What makes it so very odd is that I named the name that is in the book - and when I looked him up, I found he was the owner of an aviation company. But a few days ago, before finishing the book, I had a feeling to look that up again. Turns out the name was WRONG! And the person who she met with was a famous spy craft designer - who designed the U2 and other spy planes - head of the "Skunk Works" unit - and this guy redesigned her fuel tanks for her long distance trip! What are the odds that I would hear Jennifer mention a page, then TEN YEARS LATER revisit that page, and then learn that the page was inaccurate, it was referring to the CIA super designer who created all of the spy planes we use! (I know it sounds uncanny, but it happened a couple of days ago!) Anyways, I'm flattered she appreciates the book, I'm flattered that my old boss and mentor Robert Towne says he helped me with the book - and all of it, just every part of it is truly mind bending. Thanks for tuning in!
On this episode of Nintendo Pow Block, Edward and Corey remember Satoru Iwata on the 10th anniversary of his passing. Iwata was more than just Nintendo's president—he was a game developer at heart and a true gamer. His words and leadership style still inspire many today. They also discuss how Donkey Kong Bananza was also originally planned for the Switch 1 like Mario Kart World, but made the move to the Switch 2 to incorporate more gameplay elements, destructibility, and Pauline. Ten years ago, Ta-Nehisi Coates published Between the World and Me, written as a letter to his then-15-year-old son. The book was released shortly after a shooting at Mother Emanuel church in Charleston left nine people dead – and it became a literary phenomenon as many Americans searched for answers about the state of race relations in the United States. In today's episode, Coates reflects on the 10 year anniversary of Between the World and Me. He speaks with NPR's Michel Martin about the book's dedication, efforts to ban his work, and the role of writers in the public sphere. To listen to Book of the Day sponsor-free and support NPR's book coverage, sign up for Book of the Day+ at plus.npr.org/bookofthedayLearn more about sponsor message choices: podcastchoices.com/adchoicesNPR Privacy Policy

Send us a textApril 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of the #BaltimoreUprising, a series of protests sparked by Freddie Gray's death in Baltimore Police custody in 2015.Baltimore has long reflected America's racial and political anxieties, making the Uprising a frequent subject of academic analysis. In this episode, Leaders of a Beautiful Struggle's Lawrence Grandpre and Dayvon Love critique two books: Beyond Black Lives Matter by Cedric Johnson and Invisible Weapons by Marcus Board Jr.While Johnson critiques BLM and Board affirms it, both argue that Baltimore's working-class grassroots were misled by neoliberalism, rendering their responses to Freddie Gray ineffective. This view overlooks successful grassroots political interventions by groups like LBS, which led protests during the Uprising and continues to advance community-driven agendas. By oversimplifying Black identity as manipulation by elites—whether through neoliberalism (Johnson) or patriarchy (Board)—both books fail to capture the political and ideological complexity of Baltimore's working-class Black communities. They also neglect to examine how academic detachment can distort analyses of Baltimore, Black life, and Black politics.Support the showIn Search of Black Power is a Black-owned internet show and podcast. Let us know in the comments below what your favorite track from Mario Kart 8 is and if it's Mount Wario, we are friends for life. Thanks for watching! The Evansdale Murders - Ten Years Later /// Part 2 /// 596Part 2 of 2 www.TrueCrimeGarage.comWhat could be more innocent, more everyday America, than two little girls setting off on a bike ride to explore the neighborhood? Something they had done countless times before. Except this time, they did not come home. This week we re-visit the still unsolved double murder case of Lyric Cook and Elizabeth Colins. We covered this case for the first time over two years ago and with the unfortunate ten year anniversary since these two wonderful and bright little girls were taken we felt compelled to give this another look and hope for some renewed interest and awareness of this still unsolved case. This case has been compared to the Delphi case countless times as there are many similarities. Just like the Delphi case someone knows something. If you have any information about the circumstances surrounding the disappearance and deaths of Lyric Cook-Morrissey and Elizabeth Collins, please call theEvansdale Policetip line at 232-6682 orCedar Valley Crime Stoppersat 855-300-8477.
