Christian Huff's confusion at the name “Pat Sajak” proves daytime TV is officially a thing of the past, and Al and Zach take the opportunity to school the younger guys using the legendary story of Granny Robertson's double Price Is Right showcase win. John Luke and Christian manage to finesse a free lunch out of the ever-frugal Zach by taking him at his word. The guys turn to Exodus 19, where God hands down the Ten Commandments, explore how covetousness sits at the heart of every other sin, and what it means that only Christ could fulfill the law written on stone. Dr. R. Carlton Wynne speaks at the Reformed Forum Annual Theology Conference, held at Lakeland Church in Gurnee, Illinois on September 27, 2025. Dr. Wynne explores how the vast portion of the Old Testament covering the monarchy and prophetic periods (approximately 417 chapters) points to Jesus Christ. Dr. Wynne first establishes the central, Christ-centered scope of all Scripture, affirming that everything in the Old Testament looks forward to and finds its fulfillment in Christ's person and work, including his death and resurrection. The address then moves beyond viewing Christ merely as being prefigured in the Old Testament through "scale models" or "macro typology." Instead, it seeks a deeper sense in which the pre-incarnate Christ's power and heavenly kingdom principles were actively revealed through the history of Israel's kings and prophets, positioning these figures and institutions as intrusions of heavenly glory mediated by Christ himself. Let's be honest, most of us aren't designers. But in today's feed, visuals can make or break whether your content gets noticed. This week, I'm joined by Jim MacLeod, creative director, marketing strategist, and author of The Visual Marketer: The Marketer's Crash Course for Creating Memorable and Effective Visuals, to talk about how creators can craft scroll-stopping visuals without needing a design degree. Jim shares how to build a consistent, recognizable brand identity across platforms, why color and typography matter more than trends, and how to use AI and design tools to simplify the creative process. We also discuss balancing experimentation with consistency, considering when to try something new and when to stick with what's working. If you've ever stared at a blank canvas wondering how to make your graphics pop, or felt like your feed looks like everyone else's, this episode will help you rethink how you approach visual marketing. You'll walk away with practical, no-fluff advice for creating visuals that connect, convert, and keep your brand memorable.Key TakeawaysConsistency beats complexity: A recognizable look builds trust faster than any trendy effect or template.Your visuals should tell a story: Every image, color, and font choice should reinforce who you are and what you stand for.Don't chase trends: own your style: Experiment, but anchor your brand in a consistent visual foundation.AI can't replace taste: Tools like Canva, ChatGPT, and MidJourney help speed up design, but your creative direction still matters.Good visuals guide attention: Every post should have one clear focal point, whether it's text, an image, or your face.Stay consistent across platforms: People should recognize your style, even when your logo isn't visible.ResourcesJim MacLeod: jim-macleod.comJim's Book: The Visual Marketer: How to Stand Out with Smarter Design ----------------------Ecamm - Your go-to solution for crafting outstanding live shows and podcasts. - Get 15% off your first payment with promo code JEFF15SocialMediaNewsLive.com - Dive into our website for comprehensive episode breakdowns.Youtube.com - Tune in live, chat with us directly, and be part of the conversation. In this episode of the Grow Your Life podcast, I'm giving you a behind-the-scenes look at how you can build powerful, fully functioning apps — without writing a single line of code — using AI. If you're a coach, mentor, or entrepreneur with big ideas but no tech skills, this episode is your step-by-step crash course. I walk you through: The best platforms for creating your own branded coaching app (Passion.io, Kajabi, Thinkific) How to create a digital version of yourself using tools like Delphi.ai Advanced platforms like Replit and Figma to design and build functional apps (even games!) How I used AI to build a working Super Mario-style video game What to expect from AI agents when building, debugging, and launching You'll see exactly how I prototype new tools using AI and how you can do the same — even on a budget and without a dev team. These tools are accessible, powerful, and changing the game for creators. If you've been sitting on an idea for an app, now is the time to bring it to life.
I've been to a lot of medical conferences, but veterinary medicine conferences are different. Picture me, a human ophthalmologist, standing in front of a thousand vets, showing them photos of my dog Milo's eyes (because why not?). Turns out, they loved it and then immediately called me out for doing the exact thing they can't stand about human doctors. Oops. Kristin and I also get into the strange overlap between vet medicine and human medicine (yes, the cardiologists still argue), why ER veterinarians might actually have the hardest job in medicine, and how I managed to accidentally do the very thing vets complain about most. And if that's not enough, we dive headfirst into a Twitter firestorm about whether doctors should ever “Google it” in front of patients, plus a surprise crash course in chemotherapy drugs straight from my med school review book. Takeaways: Vet vs. Human Medicine – The personalities are eerily similar… but vets may have the tougher gig. The Milo Moment – How my dog's eyesight became the star of my keynote. Human Doctor Problem – Why vets roll their eyes when we try to flex our “expertise” in their clinics. Googling in the Exam Room – The controversial tweet that sparked a million opinions. Chemotherapy 101 – A chaotic but oddly fascinating attempt to explain cancer drugs on the fly. — To Get Tickets to Wife & Death: You can visit Glaucomflecken.com/live We want to hear YOUR stories (and medical puns)! Today we take a deep dive into the part of copywriting that people talk about all the time. And even though people talk about this all the time, most of them don't really understand it. That is, psychology. Not the kind of psychology you experience in a therapist's office—although there's a little bit of overlap. Not what you'll find in brightly colored grid of buyer personas. Not mindset. No, we're talking about the psychology that has to do with how people really behave. What actually makes them respond. This is the kind of psychology that proves out over and over again, through unforgiving tests in the marketplace. We'll call it “copywriting psychology.” It's the psychology behind copy that converts. And here's the thing: It's not always polite. It may not even be pleasant. And sometimes, it's offensive to the way people look at the world. But copywriting psychology is not trying to win a popularity contest. Instead, it's trying to answer a very serious, and sometimes uncomfortable, question. That is: Does it convert? Remember, we're talking about persuasion in the wild here. After all, when they're looking at your copy, your prospects aren't really sitting in a focus group, ponderously exploring their feelings and trying to express them so as to look good in front of others. Here's what your prospects are really doing: They're scrolling through emails… half-watching TikTok videos… and trying to remember where they left their debit card. Copywriting psychology doesn't rely on a theory or a particular set of beliefs. It relies on observed and measured behavior. Therefore, to get really good at this, you learn not to listen so much to what people say… but to pay very close attention to what they do. When I mentor clients, a large part of what we do ends up coming from developing an almost sixth sense for copywriting psychology. What we'll do here today is a crash course to help you move to the next level in this important set of copywriting tools. So, a couple of resources for you if you really want to get copywriting psychology under your belt. If you are a working copywriter with at least two years' experience and in the six figure level of income, you should consider applying for mentoring with me. I don't work with beginners, but if you have a successful business and you write copy, or you have a strong freelance copywriting business, check out my mentoring. It's a serious one-year program and it can easily take you to the next level. It's expensive, but clients find again and again that it more than pays for itself. In fact, some of them, who run 9 figure businesses, have stayed with me for years. And some freelance copywriters have as well. Now, what we talked about today is just a small part of the copywriting psychology we cover during the year, because most of it comes up when we go over projects and promotions you're actively working on. You can find out more, including the application, at https://garfinkelcoaching.com The second resource is for everyone and I can't recommend it highly enough, even though I wrote it. This week I got two messages from clients who were bragging they got someone else to get the book. Why? Because the information in it can really make a big difference in your copy and in your business. And I haven't seen the same information anywhere else. Of course I'm talking about The Persuasion Story Code. It's on Amazon and here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CFD2KXNQ Download.
