In this episode, I started off by reacting to the Bradley Beal max deal. OU baseball came up short and I'm not okay with it. The Nats won some games and I learned who Jackson Treatault was. USC and UCLA to the B1G is just the latest of major conference realignment. Jaden Hardy will be scary with the Mavs. I introduce a new hypothetical trophy called "The Golden L". The NBA offseason is interesting once again. I go through my dream 2017 OU football schedule with the help of Whatifsports. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/goat-level-podcast/support
In this episode we take a deep dive at a big time trade for the era, when in 2000 Grant Hill was signed and traded to the Magic. We analyze what happened during that time for both teams, who made out better, what if the trade never happened. Follow along as we discuss these topics and more.
It's finally here. The Miller Madness Tourney. What happens when you match up Sean Miller's 12 Arizona teams in a one loss elimination tournament? We teased it before the season and even previewed it in Ep 106. This week we tell you who is moving on to the second round. All games have been simulated on Whatifsports.com. Which Miller team will reign supreme? Bear Down!
After moving up our four-part series on the MLBPA and labor relations... we kick off the episode by talking about a triumph of the Kansas City Chiefs and the imminent retirement of Tom Brady? Yeah, we recorded this one a while ago folks... After repeated losses in our WhatIf sports simulator, Josh finally bit the bullet and assembled an all-time Yankees team. Tom responded with their long-time rival and little brother, the Red Sox. Will the 26-time champion finally get Josh over on Tom (and Pedro Martinez)? Will Tom get Williams, Yaz, Foxx and Papi onto the same roster? Who gets Clemens? Boggs? Ruth? Let's find out...
No World Series was played in 1904, so Lucas uses WhatIfSports.com to simulate a best-of-nine series between the two pennant winners for the year. Music: Last Stand - Purple Planet Music
Tom and Josh decided to change things up and have a bit of fun this week drafting squads of position players based on the sort of MLB legends who appealed to retired MLB manager Whitey Herzog -- teams full of players that ran well, defended well and got on base. Then we ran a totally realistic simulation of our lineups in a seven game series against mediocre MLB journeyman Darren Oliver and famous MLB bust Todd Van Popple and forgot to track stolen bases until midway through the series. Notes: Tom's dog Dalton makes a few cameo appearances in the background. He's such a good boy. We used WhatIfSports to run the simulation: https://www.whatifsports.com/locker/ Here's Hal McRae's famous "takeout slide" of Willie Randolph: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIiYw53nGd0

In the end, both squads are elite, but peek below to see the results of the draft, and simulated game. Apologies for the constant audio glitches; we just can't have nice things.
