Lions Club members Shawn Tolan and Marty Taylor handed over the check, and they weren’t alone in their generosity. The Laurel Canyon Optimist Club chipped in another $1,500 to help make this year’s event even bigger. “This program is everything,” said Canton Police Chief Marty Ferrell. “It’s about connection, joy, and showing kids we’re here for them. We couldn’t do it without these amazing partners.” STORY 2: New taco fusion restaurant opens in Woodstock’s Towne Lake There’s a new taco spot in Towne Lake, and it’s not your typical taco joint. Towne Lake Taco Co., owned by Rick and Julie VanBuren, is throwing a grand opening party this Thursday through Saturday, complete with deals, giveaways, and a special-edition taco. “We’re not a Mexican restaurant,” Rick said. “We’re a fusion spot—tacos are just our canvas to play with flavors.” And play they do. This weekend’s exclusive? A steak au poivre taco with sirloin, greens, and a peppercorn sauce spiked with Grandaddy Mimm’s sorghum rum. Deals include free tacos, $45 taco flights, and $8 sangrias. STORY 3: Road closure planned for Cherokee Avenue in Nelson  Heads up, Nelson residents—storm drainpipe work is coming to Cherokee Avenue, and it’s going to mean a road closure. From Dec. 15 to Dec. 19, the stretch between 61 and 98 Cherokee Avenue will be shut down. Here’s the deal: if you’re at 61, you’ll need to head west to get in or out. If you’re at 98, it’s east for you. Signs will go up at Dogwood Pass and Hillside Lane to mark the closure. Break: Ingles Markets 7 STORY 4: Chattahoochee Gold grabs top three finish at senior state championships  The Chattahoochee Gold Swim Club made waves at the Georgia Senior State Championships in Athens last weekend, with both the boys and girls teams landing top-three finishes. The boys snagged second place with 587.5 points, just behind Swim Atlanta (622) and ahead of Dynamo (505). Asher Cooper was the standout, racking up 90 points with wins in the 200 backstroke (1:47.77) and 200 butterfly (1:51.11). Parker Hebert and Jack Lynch also delivered big, with Hebert taking second in the 500 freestyle (4:33.09). On the girls’ side, they finished third overall, led by Ashlyn Loftin’s 55 points and Ariana Lutz’s two first-place swims, including the 500 freestyle (4:58.75). BRAVES: The Atlanta Braves just inked a deal with free-agent outfielder Mike Yastrzemski—yep, Carl Yastrzemski’s grandson—for two years and $23 million, with an option for a third. This year’s event? Bigger than ever, with over 2,700 runners and walkers showing up. It wasn’t just a race—it was a full-on celebration. 21. yüzyılın ilk çeyreğini deviriyoruz. Bu yüzyıl öylesine sarsıntılı başladı ki ilk çeyreğin sonunda bir envanter çıkarmak yararlı olacak. Nereden geldik, nereye gidiyoruz? Çeyrek yüzyılın ötesine geçtiğimizde dünyanın nasıl bir gelişme yaşayacağını anlayabilmek için yılın son aylarında başladığımız bu dizinin ilk kısmında yaşadığımız büyük sarsıntının ardında dünya ekonomisinin 2008'den beri içine düştüğü çok ağır bir ekonomik krizin, Üçüncü Büyük Depresyon olarak anılması gereken bir buhranın bulunduğunu anlatmıştık. Bütün ülkelerde borsaların aşırı şişkin bir düzeye yükseldiğini, bunun 2008 gibi çok ağır bir balon patlamasına yol açabileceğini, ayrıca Afrika'nın en yoksul ülkesinden dünyanın en büyük ekonomisine sahip ABD'ye kadar bütün ülkelerin bir borç denizinde yüzmekte olduğunu, nihayet dünya çapında rezerv para rolünü üstlenen dolardan ve onun açık ara ardından gelen avrodan altına doğru bir kaçış yaşandığını, yani dünya ekonomisine karşı güvenin de yerlerde süründüğünü anlatmıştık.Dizinin bu ikinci kısmında bu derin ekonomik krizin üstyapısını, politik ve ideolojik alandaki etkilerini konuşacağız. Göreceğiz ki, 80 yıldır ilk kez konuşulması gereken konular var. Dünya ve Türkiye solu Sovyetler Birliği'nin dağılması döneminde girdiği hayal dünyasında hâlâ debelenirken, küreselleşmenin savaşı olanaksızlaştırdığı fikriyle oyalanırken, bizim partimiz 2016'da tam da bu konuda toplanan 1. Olağanüstü Kongresi ile bir Üçüncü Dünya Savaşı tehlikesinin yakın, elle tutulur, somut bir tehlike olduğunu ortaya koymuştu. Şimdi Pentagon'un, yani isim babası Trump'ın kararıyla adı değiştirilmiş olan Savaş Bakanlığı'nın başında olan Peter Hegseth içinde bulunduğumuz zaman diliminin bir “1939 ânı” olduğunu ilan etti! Eğer savaş dönencesine girdiysek her şeyin tartışılması ona tâbi olmak zorundadır. Bugün insanlığın ulaştığı kitlesel imha silahları düzeyi göz önüne alınırsa dünya savaşı yeryüzünde canlı hayatın sonu dahi demek olabilir. Dolayısıyla bu ikinci yazımız esas olarak savaş konusuna odaklanacak. Yalnız oraya geçmeden önce, bizim yeni yüzyılın başından beri dikkat çektiğimiz, son on yıldır da hakkında uyarı üzerine uyarı yaptığımız dünyayı saran faşizm tehlikesine de sadece hatırlatma bâbında da olsa değineceğiz.Yazımızın ana gövdesine geçmeden önce bir metod sorununa değinelim. Ama Trump'ın başa gelmesiyle, hele Beyaz Saray'a ikinci kez yerleşmesiyle ABD'nin sadece laboratuvar karakteri değil, diğer ileri (emperyalist) kapitalist ülkelere yol gösteren rehber karakteri iyice perçinlendi. Yaklaşık 10 yıldır her kıtada fırtınalı bir yükseliş kaydeden faşizm, en son 2022'de Giorgia Meloni'nin kurduğu hükümetle İtalya'da iktidara geçti ama Meloni İtalya'da tek başına bir hamle yapmasının güçlüğü dolayısıyla başa geldiğinden beri top çeviriyor. Ne var ki ABD başka. ABD dünyanın en kudretli ülkesi. Onun başına Trump gibi hem aşırı hırslı hem yaşlı olduğu için acelesi olan bir faşist (ön-faşist dersek daha doğru olur) geçince ABD çağımız kapitalizminin bütün özelliklerini en iyi temsil eden ülke haline geldi. Bu yüzden bu yazıda hemen hemen bütün ampirik malzememizi ABD'den alacağız.

Hepsi O'na muhtaçtır.Bir gün Bayezid-i Bistamî oturuyordu. İçeri biri girdi. Sağa ve sola bakmaya koyuldu. Niçin baktığı soruldu, namaz kılmak için temiz bir yer aradığını söyledi. Bayezid ona döndü ve şöyle dedi:Pisliğin görülmediği her yer temizdir. Yalnız, kalbini temiz et. İstediğin yerde namaz kılmaya başla.”İhlas sahibi olanlar, riyadan korkarlar. Bu bir akabedir. Böylece ona galip geldiler; nefislerine hâkim oldular.Şeytanın üflemesine aldanma. Nefisten bir ok atılırsa yıkılma. O kendi oku ile atar. Ve ancak onun yoluna girersen ok sana değer. Nefsin yoluna girmeyene ok değmez. Malûm şeytan, ancak insan şeytanları vasıtası ile kötülük yapar. Nefis ve kötü arkadaştan Allah'a sığın; yardım iste. Bu kadar düşmanla baş edemezsin, ondan daima yardım talep et. O yardımını esirgemez. It's still thought of as the World Series to which all other World Series' are compared. The Boston Red Sox vs the Cincinnati Reds. A classic 7-game series that had as much drama, controversy, rain, Hall of Famers, and unforgettable moments as baseball fans could ever hope for. The Big Red Machine was a juggernaut in '75 led by Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan, Pete Rose, Tony Perez and their Hall of Fame skipper Sparky Anderson. Yet, the upstart Red Sox were matching them at every turn with Rookie of the Year/MVP Fred Lynn, Yaz, El Tiante and Carlton Fisk playing inspiring baseball. The only thing that could stop either of these teams was Mother Nature. Rain interrupted the series on mud;tiple occasions, but once they got on the field… some of the most thrilling baseball ever played was on full display. None more thrilling than the 12th inning home run by Carlton Fisk that ended a captivating Game 6 and sent the series to a 7th game. The shot of Fisk waving the ball fair as it hugged the left field line and then bounced off the foul pole is a moment that has stood the test of time for half a century and will be forever remembered by baseball fans as long as they still play this game. The starting pitcher for Game 7 for Boston was Bill Lee… the Spaceman. One of the gams true characters and at this time, one of the games best left-handed starters. The winner of 17 games in 1975, Lee had thrown 8 beautiful innings in Game 2 only to leave in the 9th when the Reds rallied for a 3-2 win. Now, in Game 7, he once again tossed 6 innings and came out with the lead in the 7th only to see the Reds rally again. Two wonderful starts for Lee, two no decisions… and a lifetime of what if's… 50 years later, the Spaceman is still as outrageous and entertaining as he was back in Boston in the mid 70's. He tells us how he couldn't stand Don Zimmer as a manager and how wearing a Rolling Stones shirt cost him and the Red Sox the 1972 AL East Division. He recalls how as a teenager he had a job as locksmith and locked some of the most famous people in the world out of their own houses. He tells us how he almost died on the pitching mound pitching for the Savannah Bananas and how he's lucky to still be alive. Herkese mal, evlâd, rızk, hidâyet, irşâd ve selâmet ve dahâ her iyiliği fark gözetmeksizin göndermekdedir. [Kullarının küfrlerini, günâhlarını yüzlerine vurmuyor. Mekr-i ilâhî ile, istidrâc olarak, ya'nî Allahü teâlânın aldatarak, ni'met şeklinde gösterdiği musîbetlerdir. O kimseleri harâb etmek için ve dahâ ziyâde azıp, sapıtmaları içindir. Nitekim, Mü'minûn sûresinin ellialtıncı âyetinde meâlen, (Kâfirler, mal ve çok evlâd gibi dünyâlıkları verdiğimiz için, kendilerine iyilik mi ediyoruz, yardım mı ediyoruz sanıyor. Peygamberime “sallallahü aleyhi ve sellem” inanmadıkları ve dîn-i islâmı beğenmedikleri için, onlara mükâfat mı ediyoruz, diyorlar? Hayır, öyle değildir. Aldanıyorlar. Annenin yavrusuna karşı yapdığı gibi, dahâ ne zemâna kadar kendine böyle titreyeceksin? Dahâ ne güne kadar, nefsin için üzülecek, sıkıntılara düşeceksin? Yakında, elbet öleceksin! O hâlde! Onlar sana fayda sağlayamazlar. Onlar kendi başlarına kimseye zarar da veremezler. Onlara itimat ederken, Hak kapısına ortak etmiş olursun. Onlar seni Hak kapısından uzak kılar. Hakk'ın gazabına bu yüzden çarpılırsın. Mevlâ'dan kalbine perde inmesine sebep olurlar. Yazık sana, şu saldırıcı av hayvanı öğrendiğini yapıyor. Avını kimseye vermiyor, kendisi de yemiyor. Halbuki onun âdeti, bulduğunu kapıp yemektir. Bütün tabiî hallerini bir yana atarak öğrendiği şeyin gereğini yapmaya çalışıyor. Av kuşları da aynı şeyi yapmakta... Nefsin öğrenmeye daha lâyıktır. Vahşî hayvanlar güzel terbiye edilirken bir insan cevheri, irade ile nasıl yola getirilemez?.. Ona bir şey öğret; fehmini aç. Anlayış kabiliyetini geliştir. Dinini yiyip bitirmesine mâni ol. Hak Teâlâ'nın emanet ettiği şeye ihanet etmesin. İman sahibi için din, manevî varlığına et ve kan sayılır. Nefsini iyi terbiye etmeyenin ona bir şey teslim etmesi doğru olmaz. Her şeyi öğrettiğin zaman istediğini teslim et. Anlayışına ve kavrayışına güvendiğin zaman ona her varını bırakabilirsin. Yine de kontrol etmen yerinde olur; unutma. Her gittiğin yerde seninle olur. Alim ve Halîm olan Allah tarafından gönderilene razı olur. Onun için, buğday içi ile arpa kepeğinin farkı yoktur. Nefsi için hiçbir haz almaz. Hırs ile yemek yemez. Aç kalır, susuz bekler, yine kimseden bir şey ummaz. Daima iyi işler ve Hakk'a kulluk için kendini atar. Tabiî olan kötü dileklerini unutur. Cömert olur. Gönlünü dünyaya kaptırmaz, öbür âleme hasret çeker. Az zaman böyle gider, sonra âhireti de bırakır. Mevlâ'ya koşar. Aklı başında olan hasta, yalnız doktorun verdiğini yer ve tavsiye ettiği ilâcı alır. Onun terbiyesinde ve gösterdiği yolda kendini tedavi eder. Gerek doktorun yanında gerekse olmadığı zaman, nefsinin isteklerine kapılmaz. Ey hırsa kapılan, o yiyecek ki, sana yazılmış, senden başka kim yiyebilir? O elbise ve o binek ile alacağın o kadın sana yazılmış ise, senden başka kim onu alabilir? Hırsı bırak; acele etme. Ey evlâd! Konuştuğun zaman iyi niyetle konuş. Sustuğun zaman, kalbinde iyi duygu besle. Niyeti amelden önce bilmeyen adamın yaptığı işler eksiktir. Sen, susmuş olsan veya konuşsan, yine de günah işlemiş olursun; çünkü niyetin bozuk. Söz etmen ve sessiz durman, peygamberin sünnetine uymuyor. Bir hâl değişikliğinde ve rızık darlığında hemen Hakk'a karşı haliniz değişiyor. Hele gelecek bir şeyin ipi kopup kırılsa, hemen küfür yolunu tutuyorsunuz. Dünyada hemen hemen her şey ölçülü ve muayyendir. Sana bir nimet gelirse, diğer kimsenin elinden çıkmış sayılır. Bir gün de senden alınır, başkasına verilir. Ne hepsi senin olur ne de daima bir şahsın elinde kalır. Kendinizi hükümdar gibi görüyorsunuz. Allah sanki sizin keyfinize göre hareket edecek!.. - Niçin yaptın? Şunu yapma! Bunu yap! gibi emirler vereceksiniz O'na öyle mi?.. Hâşâ!.. Tevhid ilmini edinmek farz, helâl bulup yemek farz, Allah için yapılan işlere, karşılık beklememek farzdır. İçi dışına uymayan fâsık kişilerle olma. Salih ve düzenli iş edenlere koş. Karışık bir durumda olursan, salih ile nifaklı kişiyi ayırt edemeyecek hâle düşersen Allah'a yalvar. Oturduğun yerden hemen kalk; gece olsa, daha iyi olur. İki rekât namaz kıl, sonra yalvar: - Ya Rabbi, kulların arasında olan salih kişileri bana buldur. Sana varmama delil olanı bana göster. Manevî sofrandan yememe vesile ver. Manevî susuzluğumu, sonsuz denizinden kandıracak zatı bana bildir. O zat gözlerimi, yakınlık nurunla sürmelesin. Taklitçi olmayarak ayan beyan nurunu gördüreni bana haber ver. Ey cemaat! Takvayı terk ettiniz; bu halinizden hemen dönünüz. Takva gönüllere şifa verir. Onu terk, ruhu hasta eder. Kendinizi tevbe etmeye alıştırınız. Tevbe ilâçtır. Günahlar ise mikrop çıkarır.
