Bad Sharks

Sorry viewers! Another longer one again, but we've had worse.....this one coming in on pretty much the hour mark, good for listening to to pass the time at the hairdressers, vineyards, and elephant section of the zoo. We have a lot to catch up on in the form of covid infections, final league standings of stage 1 of the Wellington Leagues, and the start to Stage 2, but we still have time for Birthdays, Ryan Fibbs in the form of Footballer and Manager quotes, Statman, a new section covering the reading of a certain Alts player's diary, and we catch up with Rich and Simpson-12 with a clip from the new sitcom about them due to hit TV screens, Rich's Robot. We are BACK! Yet another glorious return for the Bad Sharks duo Al and James, who this week catch you up on all things Alts, JJs, and JJJs and the rest of the Island Bay United Football team-stons. Birthdays? Back! Ryan Fibbs? Back! After the game we had just played before recording, Al had a bad? Back! There's another attempt at getting through the scores from all the games as quickly as possible, a new segment in The Big Debate (which is up for a rename from you kind viewers, if you're feeling creative), James also goes on the streets of America and poses some tricky questions to the public, and we were somehow hacked into and interrupted by a certain special robot, all in the first Bad Sharks of the 2022 season!

One last time for 2021 as club legends Bryn and Nick join Al in the clubrooms to discuss the ups and downs of the season for all the Island Bay teams. We get into some fascinating detail about eligibilty regulations as well as the joys of a front post run at a corner, so much excitement for you loyal viewers! We hear about a drunken goaly, more revelations from the JJ's Greytown trip and begin the campaign for the Shark Bus to come home to The Bay. James is a bit tired so there's a bit more cheese and less marmite this time, still a lovely sandwich though.

Hi Viewers, after a little break we're back with familar face Jerry to talk about all the usual goings on at Wakefield Park as the season draws to a close. We've got the usual lies from James and some Stat Man action alongside a chat about sliding around in the mud, nude in the dark......just a usual Tuesday for our guest. We provide you with all the latest scores on the doors from the Capital and Wellington leagues and some confusion over young people thrown in for good measure!

Howdy viewers! The Bad Sharks are again joined by Rich Cheddes and Lyndal and a surprise mystery guest calling in all the way from L.A. as they discuss the recent results and weather happenings of the Wellington football leagues as we hit the tail end of this exciting season. We have a slight variant of Ryan Fibbs to freshen it up a bit in the form of Footballer Quotes, and Al again dazzles us with his 'Would you Rather?' and 'Headlines' segments, and we also have a quick game of 'Pork - Yes or No?', and coming in at just under an hour, its all very toight and probably our best episode in a wee while, to be honest, and releasing nice and early in the week there's no excuse not to give it a blast! After a few weeks of James being tired and ill the Bad Sharks return with a bumper episode recorded in Craggsy's cozy log cabin. Guests Richard and Lyndal get involved in a lot of true or false action and Roy Keane has some harsh words about Phil's antics before James gives a good in-depth round up of all the Island Bay teams as the end of the season starts to loom. Just James and Al this week Viewers, sitting on the floor and discussing a lot of haircuts. We have the usual Fibbs, a run down of all the latest games at Island Bay and James gets chance to talk about himself at long last. Hold on until the end and you'll hear our quickfire answers about our own teams so you can finally find out Al's opinion on the cleverest JJ.

Al and James are joined by none other than Alts goalkeeper Chris Evans, and we get to cover stories of glory, Asian situations and some broken glass mishaps, as well as another round of trusty Fibbs or Trooney, Headlines and Factman, and Richie Cheddes tries his hand as a stand up comic. At 70 odd minutes its a biggie, but that such was the bantz that we even had to trim 20 minutes off that! Enjoy, loyal viewers, no matter which part of America you are listening from!

We are BACK! Due to at least two people asking where we had been, we decided to get cracking again, meaning we have THREE games to catch up on.....but fear not, we mainly concentrate on the last of them. Our guest is none other than Piers 'The Wall' Wall, and he discusses his football and even rugby history, and we find that his past acquaintances aren't all that memorable to him. Jerry also joins us again, and we go over the usual Ryan Fibbs, Headlines and Fact Man (not Stat Man as we still confusingly call it), and there is a very special premiere of a brand new action movie starring none other than a Rich Cheddes, co-starring our very own Allen Copeland and Alts winger Phil Rowlands. In da (my) house, we are joined by none other than BRYN HICKSON ROWDEN from the Island Bay First Team and also MARTIN BLACK from the Seagulls, both completing the finest hat-trick's of their lives by appearing on the Bad Sharks for the third time each. There's birthdays, Ryan Fibbs, Rich's Tales, and a load of waffle about our first week(s) of the new season, and we also have a trailer for the new low-fi Indie-horror movie, 'Dying for a Slash'. That's right, fair viewers, James and Al again don the mic and are joined by their loyal apprentice Jerry as they go through the Summer happenings and run over some of the Island Bay teams Winter prospects. There will of course be time for merriment in the form of Birthdays, Ryan Fibbs, Statman, Film 21 and Richie Geddes is back with another episode of Rich Tales (a cracker involving fishing and blood). James takes a well-earned break this week as Al is joined by representatives of all the teams still in action with Club Captain Bryn, Dreamer Jerry and Seagull Martin in a packed living room. Bryn explains himself and his love for hurting children, Jerry discusses his relationship with his centre back partner and Martin ponders the Seagulls reputation as we review the 2020 season. See who takes on the Club Captain quiz to win a free meal and hear all about the bonkers end to the Alts season in this glorious 50 minutes of viewing. That all sound a bit serious for you? Worry not nonsence fans! James mailed in some Ryan Fibbs to test our guests and his Alts Arse chart gets some thorough analysis amongst all the usual smart arse back and forth to keep you grinning and sometimes chuckling.

We cover all the weekends results and the league standings, but yeah, big focus on the '5 of 8 teams can feasibly go up on the last day' madness that is Wellington 2, with Alts currently topping the pile to James' joy, and Unmanageables Mathew Salt making a return to try out our new mic and talk about their relegation battle....with the Alts playing the Unmanageables at the weekend! We can't be arsed editing it so it is what it is......more waffle than usual but we don't care, listen or don't, Philner isn't bovvered!

We are back! Except, we are not! Why? Because Allen isn't here! He took a sabbatical, and instead our featured guest took on some presenting duties. Who is the featured guest you bellow?! Why, it is Richard Geddes, Alts Super-Sub Extraordinaire and star of Episode 7's IBUniverse who needed soothing from his Mackem friend through the medium of rap because he was worried about the perps who stole his shoes coming to get him, of course! In a lengthy but (honestly) simply fantastic interview, we cover Rich's footballing background, some trips of his to see his beloved Rangers (including one helluva story in Villareal, Spain), his feelings on being a sub for the Alts and a series of philosophical questions which garner answers that only Rich could give. Plus, there's the true story of the stolen shoes, and a nostalgic look at the time he worked in a Cheese factory off an island of Tazmania! Without Al this is perhaps a little less football-centric, so that half that prefers that may be disappointed by the general silliness, but we DO cover all the Island Bay results and I think do a worthy, if not quite as researched, coverage of all that, although some of it is a little un-PC. And I (James) apologise for the 5 minutes I spent munching on Pringles, which just like Toblerones, are smaller these days. This is covered in the podcast, so go on (especially if you like Karl Pilkington, coz Rich could very well be mine and Al's own version of him!), HAVE A LISTEN!

A fresh new shortened style with the usual mockery and blue language while Al and James discuss the weekends results with a small but lovely studio audience. In the first edition of Bad Sharks Lite we relive a famous JJ's game from the past, learn about Declan's laundry tactics and have an indepth discussion about how James feels about divisions. A little sprinkle of eloquence is added by Richards excellent two-line poem about his trip to Masterton.

Today the Sharks discuss all things Seagulls with Brendan whilst still finding time to cover curtain companies and heading records, we have an interview with a genuine famous football person who has won a lot of stuff', and we see the launch of the IBUniverse!

Guest - Joe Bootland. Bumper episode today as we figure out how to have a guest - this week last season's top scorer for the Alts Joe Bootland - but not prattle on for more 90 minutes, and discuss the obligatory birthdays, autobiographies, former JJ legend's plate shenanigans, the heat vs. the wind, two tales of lucky shirts and an alternative use for goalie gloves, and we leave with a very important message that could just save the world. Al's mic had a slight issue so forgive the hiss. I tried to take it out.....I must have been taking the hiss!!!

Against all odds, Al and James return for another round of Island Bay United news and views, detailing a good weekend for the Alts and a bit of a drab one for the JJs, as well as the usual birthday coverage. A new section is added, the name of which is revealed mid-show, but it is basically a watered-down version of Would I Lie To You, and we hear from a familiar Irishman and learn of some curious door-lock mix-ups.

The opening podcast....or 'pilot', if you will....of James and Al's look at everything Island Bay United, mainly focusing on the sibling teams of the JJs and the Alt-JJs. This episode we cover the link between Paul Parker and James, the dramatic 9-man Alts 3-1 win against the battlers, the squads for the forthcoming winter season, Al's goal he scored about 28 months ago, and why James can't kick it very far and shuts his eyes for headers.
