The two-week “liberation corridor” between Juneteenth and US Independence Day (“White Juneteenth”) affords an annual opportunity to evaluate objectives of and rituals for enforcing collective identity. A nakedly white nationalist US federal administration intensifies its assaults on both a shifting global order and a rising domestic opposition to its increasingly absurd efforts, revealing deeper conflicts between patriotism and foundational ideals. Using an Africana Studies Conceptual Category method to reject using trauma-anchored identity as a basis for contesting oppressions of all forms, we ask what “liberation” means in the contemporary world system. The United States remains a contested Social Structure whose foundational white nativist mission must not be allowed to center spaces where others are merely tolerated by degree of submission to that mission. Rituals such as the 250th US anniversary “celebration” moments consistently reinforce founding violence as superior and too frequently mask and reinforce systemic harms. Rather than relying on exclusionary definitions of belonging or legalistic metrics of eligibility to belong, this discussion continues our work of reclaiming self-determining expression, prioritizing internal self-restoration and building international solidarity to achieve true repair and liberation. Are you a member of Knarrative? Are we thinking more or imagining less in the age of algorithms, AI, and endless scrolling? In this episode of The Mohua Show, host Mohua Chinappa sits down with acclaimed graphic novelist and storyteller Sarnath Banerjee, one of the pioneers of the Indian graphic novel movement. From his groundbreaking work *Corridor* to his latest book *Absolute Jafar*, Sarnath has consistently challenged conventional storytelling by blending art, literature, memory, history, and philosophy. In this thought-provoking conversation, Sarnath shares why graphic novels remain a niche medium in India, how comics create meaning differently from literature and cinema, and why imagination is becoming increasingly important in a world dominated by processed content and algorithm-driven thinking. We also explore the rise of AI-generated creativity, the value of artistic process, migration and identity, the cultural significance of cities like Delhi and Berlin, and what it means to preserve memory and local stories in a rapidly homogenizing world.Whether you're a writer, artist, reader, creator, or simply someone trying to make sense of the times we live in, this episode offers a fascinating perspective on creativity, belonging, and the future of storytelling.
The U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team will face off against Australia in Seattle tomorrow for its second match of the World Cup. Excitement and expectations abound for Team USA after its thrilling 4-1 victory over Paraguay in its opener last Friday. While this isn’t the first time the U.S. has hosted the World Cup, it’s the first time our nation is co-hosting it with venues in the Pacific Northwest. Portland-based sports writer Tyson Alger is covering three of those games in our region, including Friday’s match at Lumen Field. It’s the first time that Alger is covering the World Cup after more than a decade’s experience of writing about college football. Alger writes about the Portland Timbers in his Substack publication, “The I-5 Corridor,” while also reporting on University of Oregon athletics for Lookout Eugene-Springfield. He joins us to talk about making the leap from covering college football to World Cup soccer, and the storylines he’s pursuing on the sport’s biggest stage.
Hospital emergency departments were originally designed for just that: treating urgent medical needs that require immediate attention. If a lengthier stay was necessary, patients were sent upstairs to one of the wards where longer-term care and comfort could be provided. But with overcrowding becoming increasingly common in ERs around the province (and all across Canada), many patients find themselves spending days—and nights—in hallway beds located in one of the busiest, brightest and noisiest areas of a hospital. None of this escaped the attention of Peace Arch Hospital ER Physician Dr. Amir Behboudi. Noticing a hallway patient struggling to sleep in this 24/7 hub of activity, Dr. Behboudi was inspired to research and implement low-cost solutions that address the main impediments to a patient getting much-needed sleep in a busy hospital corridor: namely, noise, lack of warmth, and bright lighting. In this episode of Power to Heal, the story of how one Peace Arch doctor's compassion and ingenuity is resulting in more comfort and faster healing for patients in what is often a stressful environment.
Late on Friday, June 12, Anthropic announced it had received a letter from the United States Department of Commerce notifying the company that the government had issued an export control directive forcing it to suspend all access to its AI models Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including Anthropic's own foreign-national employees. To comply, the company disabled access to both models for all its customers. The Wall Street Journal called the episode "one of the most powerful examples yet of US government intervention in the AI race."The White House move has left many experts baffled. And, it is raising alarms in foreign capitals about the wisdom of relying on American AI, suggesting the US will operate ad hoc, with access to advanced models revoked on a case-by-case basis. Against that backdrop, a group of cybersecurity leaders organized by Alex Stamos has urged the administration to reverse course in an open letter. Currently, Stamos is chief product officer at an AI security startup called Corridor. Previously, he was chief security officer at Facebook, before he left to found the Stanford Internet Observatory. Justin Hendrix caught up with him on Tuesday, June 16.

In this episode, we kick things off in Washington, where a renewed push to tax Chinese cargo ships has agricultural shippers warning of catastrophic consequences for U.S. crop exporters. Democratic Senators Mark Kelly and Elizabeth Warren are pressing the Trump administration to reinstate port fees on Chinese vessels, charges that were suspended until November after China applied reciprocal fees. The Agriculture Transportation Coalition warns the proposals threaten the very existence of large segments of U.S. agriculture by denying them the ability to continue exporting. Next, we head west to examine how the nation's busiest container gateway is bracing for a significant downturn while massively ramping up infrastructure spending. The Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners has approved a three point four billion dollar annual budget even as the port forecasts a seven percent decline in box volumes to nine point three million TEUs. Despite the volume decline driven by trade volatility and China's shrinking import share, the budget increase of six hundred sixty-five million dollars over the prior year is mostly driven by a thirty-one percent expansion for capital improvements. Finally, we explore a bold vision for autonomous cross-border freight taking shape along the Texas-Mexico border as industry leaders debate the Green Corridors project at a major Laredo conference. The privately funded initiative proposes a one hundred sixty-five-mile elevated guideway linking Laredo and Monterrey through a network of autonomous freight shuttles. The system would feature secure terminals connected by a closed-loop automated corridor designed to bypass traditional border bottlenecks, with the capacity to handle as many as ten thousand trailers per day in each direction and a targeted twenty thirty launch. In this profound interview, Luigi Sciambarella, head trainer at the Monroe Institute, shares 23 years of exploration into non-physical realities through out-of-body experiences. He reveals what he's mapped in the restricted realms beyond our everyday perception—hidden layers of Earth and dimensions we've been kept from understanding. Luigi describes direct encounters with organized non-human intelligences observing humanity, and what he witnessed about our species' repeated patterns of near-success and collapse. He explains that consciousness itself is evolving as a system, and that the conditions we're being born into are no longer static. This isn't about belief—it's about evidence accumulated through decades of firsthand exploration into territories most people never access. What makes this podcast essential right now: Luigi connects institutional collapse, mass spiritual awakening, and what advanced intelligences are actually doing on our planet. He reveals why governments like the CIA have studied these methods, what the hidden architecture of reality actually looks like, and most critically—why humanity's moment of choice is happening now. This is about understanding what's really controlling systems on Earth, why so many are turning inward as external structures fail, and what consciousness is trying to tell us about our future. His work suggests we're not observers of change—we're participants in it, and the stakes have never been higher.___________________PODCAST CHAPTERS00:00 – Luigi Sciambarella Intro1:40 - Seeing Earth From Out of Body5:04 - Is Human Consciousness Evolving as a System?14:39 - Robert Monroe, Focus Levels & Mapping Reality18:56 - Focus 10: Mind Awake, Body Asleep22:09 - Focus 34/35: The Gathering Watching Earth26:56 - The Observation Deck Watching Humanity32:43 - Are Non-Human Beings Observing Our Timeline?33:52 - How Non-Physical Guidance Works37:29 - Polarities, Shadow Work & Understanding Others41:23 - The Total Self vs. The Personality44:33 - How Monroe's Work Teaches You How to Die45:13 - Focus 27: The Afterlife Way Station49:50 - Near-Death Experiences & Smoothing the Transition53:54 - Addiction to the Human Experience & Karmic Loops58:39 - Metacognition: Awareness of Thought Itself59:30 - You Are Not Your Thoughts1:01:25 - Coming Back With a Soul Mission1:03:11 - Why the CIA Studied Monroe's Work1:03:38 - Psychic Spying & Strategic Advantage1:04:38 - Remote Viewing & The Cold War Race1:06:32 - Joe McMoneagle & Training Remote Viewers1:07:53 - Consciousness as Non-Local Intelligence1:08:50 - Can We Bend Reality With Our Mind?1:09:04 - Spoon Bending: Trick or Real Phenomenon?1:18:14 - Focus 42: Exploring the Total Self1:20:53 - Reality as Interconnected Consciousness1:21:35 - Soul Resonance & Deep Connections1:22:37 - Recognizing Your Soul Family1:28:25 - Out-of-Body Visions of Humanity's Future1:29:06 - The Corridor of Lifetimes Experience1:41:33 - The Online Gateway Experience1:44:30 - We Are More Than Our Physical Bodies1:51:27 - Why Joy Matters More Than Seriousness___________________Guest: Luigi Sciambarella, Head Trainer at The Monroe Institute✦ Website | https://www.monroeinstitute.org/ ✦ Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/themonroeinstitute/✦ Online Gateway Voyage (CODE: GVO-Emilio) | https://www.monroeinstitute.org/products/gateway-voyage-onlineHost: Emilio Ortiz✦ IG | https://www.instagram.com/iamemilioortiz/✦ Subscribe to Channel | https://www.youtube.com/EmilioOrtiz___________________© 2026 Emilio Ortiz. What happens when two people leave corporate life behind and start solving conservation problems one practical need at a time? In the first episode of an ongoing six-part series, Dr. Diane talks with Wild Tomorrow's co-founders John Steward and Wendy Hapgood about turning boots, socks, and urgency into a wildlife corridor in South Africa. This episode is about conservation, community, and the power of asking what is actually needed before trying to solve the problem.John shares how volunteering with painted wolves changed his life, while Wendy reflects on leaving finance after a personal and professional wake-up call that made her want to become “a salesperson for nature.” Learn how meeting a real need for rangers slowly grew into a major effort for acquiring and rewilding land, creating habitat corridors, supporting rangers, empowering local women, and partnering with community programs for young children. In The Baron 52 Enigma Part 3, we uncover the most powerful evidence yet in the decades-long search for the four missing back-end crew members of Baron 52.Building on Parts 1 and 2 — where we examined the survivable crash and the NSA intercepts that reported four “pirates” captured by Group 210 — this episode introduces two explosive primary Vietnamese sources:Two independent memoirs written by veterans of Division 471 Trường Sơn, the exact PAVN command responsible for the Baron 52 crash corridor in southern Laos during the 1972–73 dry season.Hoàng Sĩ Khiêm (Signals Battalion 446) and Nguyen Hoang (CCB471) both describe Binh Tram 35 as the main logistics hub on Route 128, the division command post at Phù Trường–Keng Nhang, Commander Nguyễn Lạn, and the massive reinforcement of anti-aircraft units — including the 210th AAA Regiment. Most remarkably, Hoàng Sĩ Khiêm details the central “Tổng đài Chín ngàn / 9000” switchboard — operated 24/7 by 12 named female soldiers — the exact communications node through which any shootdown report or prisoner transfer order on February 5, 1973 would have passed. We also examine the official 1999 Vietnamese military schematic that visually confirms the “9000” node right where the memoirs place it.These firsthand Vietnamese accounts directly answer the geographic and unit-attribution objections long used by the DPAA — even the February 2026 DPAA letter to Senator Barrasso does not address them. For the first time, we are hearing directly from the other side's own people, in their own words, confirming the precise location, units, and chain of command involved in the Baron 52 incident. If you care about the fullest possible accounting for America's missing from Vietnam, this episode is essential listening.#Baron52 #POWMIA #VietnamWar #MissingInAction #HoChiMinhTrail #EC47 #SIGINT

677. This week, we talk to Dustin Granger about Louisiana politics. As a seasoned financial advisor with over two decades of experience, Dustin Granger has built his career helping Louisiana families navigate the turbulent waters of the Great Recession, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the recurring hurricanes that shape life on the Gulf Coast. A lifelong resident and LSU alumnus, Granger now serves as the Treasurer of the Louisiana Democratic Party. Granger is a leading voice for economic reform and climate resilience. He advocates for a "New Louisiana" that breaks away from traditional corporate-heavy investments to embrace renewable energy, fair taxation, and sustainable infrastructure. In this interview, we discuss his recommendations for the current voting season, his strategies for stabilizing property insurance, his commitment to strengthening the state's middle class, and his ongoing work to revitalize the Democratic infrastructure across the Bayou State. Every year an increasing number of white outlaws, hidden in the caves along the river, harried and robbed the boatmen who floated down from the upper settlements. There were lurking bands of hostile Indians. And there was the river itself with its treacheries; its snags; its mud bars and its floods. It was no unusual thing for an ark to set out as this one was about to do, provided against all foreseeable disasters, and never be heard from afterward. Some were wrecked, some were robbed and their crews obscurely murdered. But no tidings of their fate came back to the solitary homes on the upper Ohio. To set out on such a voyage with a single man or boy who could not be trusted, might mean the loss of the boat or even of every life on board of her. This week in Louisiana history. May 8, 1823. This week on bigcitysmalltown, host Cory Ames tells the story of the Robert L.B. Tobin Land Bridge at Phil Hardberger Park — in a new format for the show. Rather than a traditional guest conversation, this episode is a narrated oral history, recorded in the field at the park itself, weaving together tape from a morning walk Cory took with former Mayor Phil Hardberger and natural resources manager Wendy Leonard.Just a week or so before this episode was released, a bronze statue of Phil Hardberger was unveiled at the park that bears his name. He is 91 years old and still walks the trails. The episode covers:How Phil Hardberger promised San Antonio a new park while running for mayor — and spent two years looking for the right landThe phone call that led him to a former dairy farm on the north side, never fully clear-cut, 330 acres still largely as nature left itHow Wurzbach Parkway split the property in two — and why that became the genesis of one of the most celebrated wildlife bridges in the countryThe $23 million fight to fund the land bridge, the jury of architects Phil assembled, and the moment he committed to raising $12 million himselfHow the bridge was engineered — steel girders, three feet of soil, Corten steel walls designed to block sight and sound from 60,000 cars passing underneath dailyWhy animals began crossing before construction was even finished — and how within one year, all 31 mammal species known to inhabit the park had been documented using itWhat Wendy Leonard has learned managing the bridge's natural systems, and why the vegetation hasn't always cooperatedHow the land bridge reconnected a wildlife corridor stretching to the Salado Creek Greenway — and brought painted buntings back to the parkRECOMMENDED NEXT LISTEN:▶ 168. Cancer Alley, an 85-mile stretch along the Mississippi River in Louisiana, has become shorthand for one of the most urgent environmental justice crises in the United States. Lined with more than a hundred petrochemical plants, it's often talked about in terms of statistics and headlines. But in the new podcast The Corridor, those abstractions start to fall away, revealing something much more human: the lived experiences, histories, and deep-rooted connections of the communities who call this region home.In this episode of Biophilic Solutions, we're joined by Jaha Nailah Avery, a journalist and storyteller from Asheville, North Carolina. Trained in constitutional and civil rights law at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she moved from the tech world to journalism, with work featured in The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and Architectural Digest. Her work centers on documenting and preserving Black history, from interviewing Jim Crow survivors in her book Those Who Saw the Sun to her latest project producing and hosting The Corridor. In our conversation, she shares how a single article about Cancer Alley sparked a bigger question – how did we get here? – and set her on a path to trace the connections between slavery, land use, and modern-day environmental harm. We talk about the legacy of plantation country and the role that oral storytelling plays in preserving history and preventing its erasure. What emerges is a far more nuanced picture that holds both injustice and resilience, hardship and community. It's a conversation about why listening matters, and what becomes possible when we truly hear the stories that shape a place.Show NotesThe CorridorI Heard by Jaha Nailah AveryThose Who Saw The Sun by Jaha Nailah Avery and Steffi WalthallJaha Nailah Avery on Instagram Louisiana's Cancer Alley (Human Rights Watch)Cancer Alley, environmental justice, biophilic design, place-based storytelling, landscape and memory, oral history, Black history preservation, petrochemical industry, Mississippi River corridor, Louisiana communities, land use and legacy, industrial pollution, community resilience, environmental health, storytelling and justice, historical memory, plantation history, civil rights, environmental storytelling, human-centered narratives, cultural preservation, climate and community, listening and empathy, social impact, public health and environmentBiophilic Solutions is available wherever you get podcasts. Cntarctic Blasts and Economic Shifts in the Australian WinterGuest: Jeremy Zakis Summary: Jeremy Zakis describes a harsh onset of winter in Sydney, driven by cold Antarctic air funneled through a high-pressure corridor,. While Sydney faces near-freezing overnight temperatures, Tasmania recently recorded a record-breaking 70°F due to El Niño conditions and a southern warm front. The conversation also highlights the economic strain of soaring fuel prices, with diesel reaching approximately $8.85 per gallon, prompting many commuters to switch to public transport,. Despite these costs, consumer spending remains resilient as people shift toward online shopping, while domestic heating continues a transition from gas to electric and solar-powered systems,.1900 QNL

Called Mythos, Anthropic says it's in a “different league” when it comes to identifying and exploiting cybersecurity vulnerabilities, and in the wrong hands could enable bad actors to unleash powerful cyberattacks. Anthropic is alerting governments and releasing a limited version called Claude Mythos Preview to about 40 tech companies (including some of its AI competitors) to find and fix their own security vulnerabilities.
