Our desire is that each and every person that comes to Catalyst will experience God and a genuine relationship with Him. Our hope is that you would grow to become all God has created and intended you to be while finding meaning and purpose as you discover your place in God’s ultimate plan.
The Holy Spirit is powerful, with you, and in you. The Spirit of the Lord has all wisdom and understanding. It is so important that we regularly interact with the Holy Spirit and learn to hear His voice. God is loving as has your BEST plan for your life despite what we may think or feel. Let’s give the Holy Spirit permission to move in our life and have full access.
We need to intentionally focus on the Holy Spirit everyday and seek to interact with Him. As we walk with God and follow the Holy Spirit we will be able to experience all the Lord has for us. A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor so that you will be able to stand against all the strategies of the devil. Ephesians 6:10-12
We are going through the series of the book of Acts. Pastor Sam speaks on the life of Paul and his missionary journey. When we lay things down God lifts them up. There is strength in opposition. With a firm foundation in the Lord, we can use these trials and tribulations as springboards to our next break through in Christ.
We are all alive and called by the Lord to love others. With God by our side and the Holy Spirit living inside us, we can change the world around us. What area of your life has God called you to be a light for Him?
We can look to Jesus for living a life of serving others. He is our greatest example and reward. Life constantly tells us that it’s all about us, but it is opposite in the Kingdom. There are many places to serve in the church, at work, and where you are at. What are the areas God is calling you to serve and who can you look to like Jesus that serve whole heartedly for Him?
Our entire church is going Small Groups in 2020. In this message we learn how to do “Small Groups, Jesus Way”. He showed his disciples the importance of being known, having mutual support and what it means to be a disciple so in the end, we are a light to this world for Christ.
God intended for us to be in fellowship with Him and each other. There is power in the name of Jesus and when we come together. In the ups and downs of life the enemy wants us to be isolated. As the body of Christ we are meant to walk together as one.
God created us to be in community. It is vital for our health and essential for growth. Even God Himself was in a small group. It is called the Trinity! Small Group sign ups start this Sunday so look them over, choose the best one for you, and let's grow together!
2019 was a year of God stirring and moving our church in a new way. With a yearly finance report over the years giving, we press on to the new ways God wants us to step out in faith.
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16
Our church vision is seeing a mature family of believers confidently stepping into His calling for us. We see the Father raising a family who know His love and love one another. We see Jesus leading His people to confidently follow Him and His word. We see the Holy Spirit awakening us to be God-centric in everything and we see the Lord stirring us to extravagantly show His love and share the fullness of our faith.
We heard a great message from our missionary friend, from Zoe International, Les Ginoza. Though seasons change, God remains the same. Through every high and low God is present. It is in the high seasons that we can give thanks to the Lord and the low seasons where we grow. We can have the JOY of the Lord when we seek His face always.
We heard a wonderful Christmas story of Jesus, His birth and how choosing to follow the Lord is the best decision you can make. Also, including a great testimony from one of our Catalyst Youth on his journey to humbling himself and God upgrading his life.
Upgrade means to improve by adding or replacing components. Hear this message that teaches us how to upgrade our relationships when we’re offended. God has the best solutions to life’s ups and downs. He is the reason for any season!
Having a relationship with God is the key ingredient to a good marriage. We learned from Mark and Tritia that marriage comes with everything you bring into it. With the Lord healing and addressing things from the past we see how lives can be fully transformed.
God is not afraid of our questions. We heard a great message by Pastor Sam on all the ways God upgrades our lives. To hear the full sermon on the Lord's goodness and how He truly sees us be sure to check out the podcast below!
On Sunday we spent time looking at how to make Thanksgiving a bigger part of our lives. We talked about how the act of thanksgiving is often more important than what we are giving thanks for. Lastly, we also had the opportunity to hear testimonies from several people about what they were thankful for. I pray that no matter what you are going through in life God would show Himself to you and release a spirit of thanksgiving in your heart and mind! Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
Reaching out to your friends and family may be the most important thing you can do during your life. December we are having Bring-A-Friend MONTH. May the Lord stir in you the love, faith, and courage to invite your family and friends so that they might meet Jesus.
This Sunday we looked at the roles of a pastor to better understand all they do for God and us. We also need to understand their hearts so we also looked at some qualities of servant leaders and how our pastors embody those traits. Lastly we explored how we, the congregation, can participate in showing honor to our pastors. Remember that honoring our pastors isn't just for pastor appreciation day, so be intentional throughout the year in finding ways to show them honor, appreciation and respect.Check out the sermon notes here: Honoring Our Leaders Notes
"God is our loving, kind, gracious heavenly Father. He welcomes us to come boldly before His throne (Heb. 4:16). But let's never forget, He is Almighty, Awesome, Holy, All Powerful God! And He is jealous for you. He says, "Have no other gods or idols or priorities before Him" because life is in Him alone. Today, let's honor our Father and our Almighty God!
Bubbles are fun. Bubbles are cool. BUT, bubbles can be tossed around by the slightest winds. When facing trials, difficulties, and a world culture, the last thing you want to be is a bubble. So what's the answer? What can help ground us? One thing, God's Word. We need to be fully committed to the entire Word. Take time to read it today!
Over the last several weeks we've been emphasizing maturing in our faith. Last week I felt the Lord ask me a question, "What is the goal of maturity?" He led me to Phil. 3 where Paul says he considers all things trash in light of knowing Christ. Knowing Christ. Experiencing God. Stop. Take time today to sit with God, receive His love, express your praise. That's the prize of maturity.
Don’t be selfish and try to impress others. Consider others higher than yourself. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. What humble test is God giving you this week?
We see the Lord stirring us to extravagantly show His love and share the fullness of our faith (His Commission). Pastor Barry gave the message on the fourth vision for Catalyst 2.0 with special sharing from the younger generation.
We see the Holy Spirit awakening us to be God-centric in every place, in every moment, with every person. (His Life). Pastor Ross shared on the third vision statement for Catalyst 2.0. Also, special guest Mark and Tritia Lachica shared their personal journeys on God being the center of their lives.
We see Jesus leading His people to confidently follow Him and obey His word amidst a worldly culture. (His Truth). Pastor Barry gave a message on the second vision for Catalyst 2.0 along with special guest Lis Komae and Curtis sharing a powerful testimony.
We see the Father raising a Family who know His love and love one another (His Way). Pastor Barry gave a message on the first vision for Catalyst 2.0 with special guest Agnes Chen sharing her testimony of God’s amazing love.
In Acts 16 we see God using Paul and Silas to reach three really different people. It is awesome and powerful how the gospel can speak to the hearts and needs of everyone no matter their life, background, or situation. God can use you to reach the people around you! May God open our eyes to the people around us that need the good news of Jesus!
In Mark 12 a poor widow gives only two pennies but Jesus commends her for giving more than everyone else combined. How can that be? Because God focuses on the heart not on our outward appearance. In Ezekiel 36:26 God promised to give His people a new heart and a new spirit. Think about that. Meditate upon it and live from the new heart God has given you!
This past Sunday we continued through Acts 15 and talked about the relationship between the church in Jerusalem and the church in Antioch. We saw how the church in Jerusalem was not just focused on themselves and their own future but was sending out people to help launch and support other churches (like the church in Antioch). Ask God where or who or what you need to let go of control of this week so that God can produce more fruit in our lives and relationships.
This past Sunday we were blessed to hear from our own youth kids after sharing their amazing trip at YWAM Salem Oregon. What a blessing it is to hear our own youth making their mark for the Lord.
There was a connection between the early church getting established in the book of Acts and the church planting taking place in Mozambique through Pastor Daniel and his father, Pastor Vasco. We also spent time looking at Acts 15 and the power of gospel taking the Pharisees from a”brood of vipers” (Matt 23:33) to believers in the church at Jerusalem. We see how the gospel can transform even the hardest of heart towards Him. Take time this week to see who God puts on your heart to reach out to and share the love of God with.
Some Issues are worth fighting for, especially in this day and age. I believe one such issue is abortion in light of current discussion and legislation regarding late term abortion. We cannot close our eyes or keep our heads in the sand. Please take the time to listen to this important message.
This Sunday we talked about the importance of fathers in the family and across generations. God even calls Himself a father and the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We also talked about how sometimes it’s difficult to receive from our fathers because of our upbringing but how God wanted to give us a new mindset. He wants us to see how He can use the smallest positive and use it for our good. Praying this week you will be able to see the good in what God is doing as your Father and rejoice in it.
The Bible is an incredible book! Unlike any other that has ever been written. We do not merely read it for information and instruction. It is living. It is active. The Holy Spirit infuses the words with energy and power to change and transform our lives for the better.
We heard a great message this past Sunday from Pastor Peter Han. What a blessing to have family from around the world share what's on their hearts and how God is moving. To hear more about his story and the season of waiting with the Lord check out the podcast!
Our Mother's Day message was on, "How to Deal with Conflict in a Biblical Way". Conflict is something we all face. God understands and will help you navigate through it.
Jesus wants to bless, heal, grow, and purify every area of our lives; however, He will not force His way. We must invite Him. Left untouched the "rooms" of our heart can be filled with trash as a result of sin, trauma, unforgiveness, or lies. The feeding ground for unclean spirits. Hear more from the message on how Jesus can give you greater freedom.
Acts 14 has an impossible miracle, mistaken visitation by Zeus, a mob riot, attempted murder, and the greatest message of all time! Follow the adventures of Paul and hear his message: God is Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals, the only one worthy of our worship, and the One who relentlessly pursues you with His love.
This Easter we heard a great message on God’s incredible love for us by sending his only son and the power of His resurrection. He came, He lived, He conquered and He is alive and there for each and every one of us.
