Why do Christians read the Bible — and what is it actually meant to do in us?This episode continues our Essentials series by exploring how Scripture forms our minds, shapes our identity, and leads to transformation over time. Rather than speed, performance, or information overload, spiritual growth comes through slow, consistent meditation on God's Word. The aim of Scripture isn't content mastery — it's becoming more like Christ.Whether you're new to the Bible or looking to deepen your practice, this conversation will help reframe how you approach it.

God's love isn't just something He shows—it's who He is, and it changes everything. ABOUT THE MESSAGEIn part 7 of The Way To Live, Pastor Sam Muyaka teaches us that we often say “God is love,” but many of our struggles come not from doubting His love—rather from misunderstanding it. Scripture doesn't say God loves like humans love; it declares that God is love. His love is holy, corrective, merciful, and fully revealed in Jesus Christ. In this message, we discover that God's love is not passive or permissive. It refuses corruption, brings what's hidden into the light, and lovingly corrects so healing can begin. God disciplines not to shame us, but to draw us closer—to share in His holiness and freedom. In week four of our Essentials series, we look at what Jesus teaches about serving in Matthew 20:20–28.Our culture often defines greatness through status, recognition, and influence — but Jesus completely reframes it. He shows us that true greatness in the Kingdom of God is found through humility, sacrifice, and serving others. But serving isn't meant to be something we schedule occasionally or treat like a task we clock in and out of. It's meant to be integrated into the way we live and relate to people every day. Biblical servants don't keep score, don't need recognition, and aren't driven by comparison — they are secure in their identity in Christ. We don't serve to prove our worth. We serve from our worth. As followers of Jesus, we are formed not by what we do occasionally, but by what we do consistently. And if serving was central to the life of Jesus, it must become central to ours.

Culture is changing. Ideas and beliefs come and go. One thing has never changed … the Bible is our source of discovering truth and God's direction. Because of our sinful nature, we need to fight for our marriage and family. In this message, Pastor Sam shared how to fight and win more battles than you lose.
In Genesis 21-22, Abraham is confronted with two devastating tests that strip him of the illusion that he can hold everything together by his own effort: first releasing Ishmael into the wilderness, and then placing Isaac on the altar. In both moments, Abraham must accept that faithfulness to God means limiting his control, enduring misunderstanding, and relinquishing even legitimate loves. As he obeys, God proves Himself faithful-not only sustaining Ishmael apart from Abraham's provision, but revealing a ram prepared in advance to spare Isaac. The passage teaches that useful, mature faith withholds nothing from God, accepts short-term relational cost, and ultimately gains a clearer vision of divine provision, pointing beyond Abraham to the greater substitute God Himself would one day provide.
This opening message explores the profound reality that God knows us completely—our strengths, weaknesses, fears, and dreams—yet loves us unconditionally. We will examine how we “know” God; intellectually or intimately. We will ask the question – God may know us, but are we truly “known”!for sermon reflection notes:chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://ccccmillville.org/uploads/3/5/2/6/35267128/week_1_reflection_notes.pdffor more information on CCCC got to https://linktr.ee/ccccmillville

Joshua 1:5-9 Fear or anxiety are common features in our world nowadays. There's not a moment's rest for us to find things to become anxious about. Whether it's television, newspapers, facebook, or YouTube, the world is constantly tempting us to be fearful. So, what is the purpose for fear? And how should we respond to it according to the Bible? We consider those questions this week as Pastor Sam continues his study in Joshua.
Did Jesus become a sinner on the cross? Why is there a discrepancy about the governor in the gospel accounts and history? Why would God harden Pharaoh's heart?

You know the word. But are you living it out?In this message from our Essentials series, we explore fasting—not as a religious flex, but as a spiritual discipline that realigns our hunger, sharpens our dependence on God, and creates space for transformation.Fasting isn't about deprivation. It's about devotion.Listen in as we unpack the heart, purpose, and power behind biblical fasting—and how it forms us into people who are led by the Spirit, not appetite.

Pastor Sam Greer of Red Bank Baptist Church in Chattanooga, TN is our guest. We caught up with Pastor Sam at the 2025 Tennessee Baptist Convention Summit at West Jackson Baptist Church in Jackson, TN. Pastors and ministries from across the state gather each year focusing on unity, collaboration, and worship to advance shared ministry goals. In addition to pastoring Red Bank Baptist, Pastor Sam created a ministry called, Gospel Conversations with Sam Greer. As a professional minister Sam felt convicted that he wasn't engaging people more about Jesus in everyday life. This came into focus after a usual encounter while jogging down a Mississippi highway on a hot summer day. He has served as senior pastor since 2012 at Red Bank Baptist and has authored of "The Gospel Conversation,” "The Gospel Conversationalist," “The Gospel Conversational Church,” and “Gospel Conversational Marriage.”
What happens when God's presence comes into a city? In this conversation, Pastor Jon and Pastor Sam close out our "God Comes Where He's Wanted" series by teaching on the altar of the region. After exploring the altars of the heart, church, and family, we now address what can seem most daunting, moving from personal peace to embracing God's heart for an entire region. Only when we are heartbroken over our city and places will we begin to prayerfully build the altar of our region. We have to keep contending for our region in faith, declaring that we want Him here until He comes.
ESSENTIALS: Prayer — How Should I Pray? You know the words… but are you living them out?In this week of our Essentials Series, we're focusing on one of the most foundational practices of the Christian life: prayer. But the question isn't if we pray — it's how we pray.Jesus shows us that prayer is more than a religious routine. It reveals the posture of our heart, the way we see God, and what we believe is possible. In this message, we explore what it means to pray from humility instead of performance, to approach God as a loving Father instead of a distant force, and to surrender our will instead of trying to control outcomes. We'll also look at how prayer aligns us with God's purpose (even when it's hard), and how a powerless prayer life leads to a powerless believer — because spiritual impact is never produced by volume or eloquence, but by authority and alignment under Jesus.Posture. Person. Purpose. Power. These aren't just concepts — they're the essentials that lead to authentic transformation. If you've ever wondered why prayer feels dry, distant, or ineffective, this episode will reset your perspective and strengthen your practice.
2026 January 25th - 9:30am Generations Sermon - Pastor Sam by St Luke's Lutheran Church & School
Joshua 1:5-9 Fear is an emotion that has a lot of power in our lives. Sometimes we may even desire to feel scared! But there can be a fear that is undesirable - fear of financial instability, family crises, health problems. We don't prefer that kind of fear. So, what do we do with fear? And what does God have to say about our fears? Is it a counsel that God gives from afar? Is it simply advice? God had to encourage Joshua when he was fearful. So what did He say? And what can we learn from Joshua's experience with God? We consider those questions as Pastor Sam continues his study in Joshua.
"Every follower of Christ is a Christian, but not every Christian is a follower of Christ."This week, Pastor Sam dives into the heart of the Great Commission and the 21 times Jesus issued the invitation: "Follow me." In an age where we are constantly being "discipled" by social media influencers, political movements, and corporate marketing, this message is a clarion call to reclaim our primary identity as apprentices of Rabbi Jesus. In This Episode, We Discuss:The Two-Tier Church: Why we've created a culture where following Jesus is seen as "extra credit" rather than the baseline for faith. The Identity of a Disciple: Understanding that being a disciple is a noun—an identity—not just a Sunday activity.Intentional vs. Unintentional Formation: How the "cybernetic jungle" of our modern world is forming us into monsters unless we intentionally allow Jesus to form us into His likeness. The Three Goals of an Apprentice:To be with your Rabbi: Making time to practice the presence of God.To become like your Rabbi: Allowing proximity to Jesus to rewrite your neuropathways and character. To do what your Rabbi did: Stepping out in the authority of the Holy Spirit to serve, heal, and love.

One Thing To Ask For | Psalm 27:1-6 | Pastor Sam Kim by GraceChurchNJ
What if the reason you're still standing today isn't because you were strong enough—but because thus far, the Lord has helped you? ABOUT THE MESSAGEIn this message, Pastor Sam Muyaka teaches us that Ebenezer means “stone of help,” a declaration that thus far the Lord has helped us. In 1 Samuel 7, Israel repents, turns back to God, and discovers that even after seasons of fear, failure, and distance, God was still fighting for them. This message invites us to pause and remember: we didn't achieve success by accident—God carried us by His grace, stayed faithful even when we were not, and kept His promises when we were unsure. As we mark what God has already done, we also lift our eyes forward, because “thus far” means God isn't finished yet. As we continue our Advent journey through hope, peace, and love, this message confronts a foundational question: Is God truly who He says He is? Scripture reveals that these Advent themes are not merely virtues we strive for, but attributes of God Himself—fruits of the Spirit produced in us as He imparts His life within us.This sermon focuses on joy—not fleeting happiness, but the complete, enduring joy Jesus promises in John 15. A joy rooted in love, obedience, and relationship. A joy that is not self-generated, but received. And most importantly, a joy that is not meant to be experienced alone. From the angels' proclamation in Luke 2 to Paul's letters and the prophetic vision of Isaiah, Scripture consistently presents joy as communal before it is individual—sung together, shared together, celebrated together. Jesus' joy is for all people, deeply inclusive, and fully realized in shared faith, shared life, shared encouragement, and shared salvation. This message challenges the modern pursuit of isolated happiness and reframes joy as a divine system for unity—where “my joy” becomes “our joy.” Ultimately, we see a picture of embodied joy: God rejoicing over His people with singing, while His people respond in worship and praise. If you've ever felt joy fall short when experienced alone, this message invites you to rediscover the joy of Jesus—complete, enduring, and alive in community.

In this message, we look at Jesus' promise in John 14:26–27 that the Helper—the Holy Spirit—will teach us, remind us, and fill us with a peace the world cannot offer. Jesus draws a clear line: His peace does not operate like the world's peace. So what's the real difference? The world offers peace that depends on quiet circumstances, calm people, and the absence of problems. It's a peace you have to chase, earn, and protect—making it temporary, fragile, and often impossible to sustain. But the peace of Jesus is entirely different. It is given, not earned.Internal, not external.Rooted in His presence, not the world's predictability.
Psalm 122:1-9
Advent isn't a trend—it's a posture. In a culture obsessed with the “new,” this episode calls us back to the ancient rhythm of waiting, hoping, and remembering. What does it mean to hope when life feels delayed, painful, or out of control?Let's rediscover the kind of waiting that forms us, not breaks us.
