The Person of Jesus-The Deity of Christ Part 4 by David Antwi
Believers abide in Christ as they lovingly obey the Lord.
18/05/25 | Andy Cottingham | Glory of Christ Part 5 by City Church Bristol
Heaven in not simply a destination - for the Christian it's a motivation. That's what the apostle Paul wanted the Corinthian Church to know and believe. In Second Corinthians chapter five, we are reminded that we all will give an account to the Lord for the things that we've done on earth even believers. That ought to inspire us to make it our goal to please the Lord. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/302/29
Being in Christ, Part 4 MESSAGE SUMMARY: In this powerful message, we explore the profound concept of 'dying in Christ' through the lens of Philippians 3. We're reminded that for believers, death is not an end, but a gateway to eternal life. The key spiritual lesson here is that our citizenship is in heaven, and our earthly bodies will be transformed to be like Christ's glorious body. This teaching challenges us to shift our perspective on death, viewing it not with fear, but with hope and anticipation. The message draws an interesting parallel with the story of Chip, a visually impaired friend who, upon passing, likely received perfect sight in his heavenly body. This narrative encourages us to trust in God's promises, even in the face of physical limitations or suffering. As we navigate life's challenges, we're called to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, allowing His presence to diminish our earthly concerns. This message is deeply relevant to our faith journey, reminding us that our identity in Christ transcends our earthly existence and offers us eternal hope.. TODAY'S PRAYER: Keeping the Sabbath, Lord, will require a lot of changes in the way I am living life. Teach me, Lord, how to take the next step with this in a way that fits my unique personality and situation. Help me to trust you with all that will remain unfinished and to enjoy my humble place in your very large world. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 129). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! In this follow-up episode, author and Bible teacher Rebecca Hitchcock returns to share practical tools for walking unashamed. Building on Part 1, which covered her story and the concept of "shame clouds" and God's promise of a “double portion” from Isaiah 61:7, this episode equips listeners with real strategies to begin experiencing freedom. Rebecca walks listeners through how to: Recognize signs of shame, including difficulty receiving love or help, compulsive “worthiness hustling,” and being overly sensitive to rejection or criticism. Speak biblical truth over themselves using identity-focused Scriptures such as 2 Corinthians 5:17 (You are a new creation in Christ) and other affirmations of God's approval, love, and acceptance. Engage in ongoing mind renewal—replacing lies with God's truth again and again, not as a one-time fix, but as a daily spiritual rhythm. Acknowledge shame in safe, vulnerable community where shame loses its power in the presence of connection and grace. Use tools like a shame assessment to begin naming what's really going on internally and bringing those burdens to God in exchange for the double portion He promises. Rebecca also touches on the science of how renewing your thoughts impacts your physical body (epigenetics) and how even seasoned believers need to continuously root their identity in Christ rather than their performance. This episode is full of Scripture, compassion, and encouragement to walk in the truth of who God says you are—not what shame tries to tell you.

Being in Christ, Part 3 MESSAGE SUMMARY: In today's message, we delve into what it truly means to 'die in Christ.' Drawing from Philippians 3, we explore the transformative power of faith that turns our fear of death into anticipation of eternal life. The key lesson here is that for those in Christ, death is not an end, but a transition - a gateway to our true home. The apostle Paul's words in Philippians 3 challenge us to shift our perspective, viewing our earthly lives through the lens of our heavenly citizenship. This perspective challenges us to live with purpose, pressing on towards the goal of our heavenly calling. Also, this teaching encourages us to live with purpose and confidence, knowing that our ultimate destination is secure in Christ. We're reminded that our citizenship is in heaven, and that this earthly life is just a prelude to the glory that awaits us. As we contemplate this truth, we're invited to release our fears about death and instead focus on living fully for Christ in the present. The message beautifully illustrates how our faith can transform our approach to both life and death, offering comfort and hope in the face of life's greatest mystery. How might our lives change if we truly embraced this eternal perspective? It's an invitation to live boldly for Christ, knowing that our ultimate destiny is secure in Him. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM FORGIVEN. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Philippians 2:19-22 (Timothy's example); Philippians 2:25-30 (Epaphroditus' example): Matthew 20:28 ("For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve..."); Matthew 25:34-40 (Parable of the sheep and goats); Philippians 2:3-4 ("Do nothing out of selfish ambition..."). Being in Christ, Part 2 MESSAGE SUMMARY: In Dr. Beach's message today regarding “Being in Christ”, we continue to explore what it truly means to be 'in Christ' and how this transformative reality should shape our lives. The central theme revolves around the profound idea that 'to live is Christ,' as expressed by the Apostle Paul in Philippians. This isn't just a lofty concept, but a practical approach to every aspect of our lives. We're challenged to view our circumstances, relationships, and even difficulties through spiritual eyes, recognizing that being in Christ gives us a new perspective. The message emphasizes two key outcomes of living in Christ: fruitful labor and godly conduct. As believers, we're called to not just believe, but to live out our faith in tangible ways that reflect Christ's character. This teaching invites us to adopt a new motto - 'For me, to live is Christ' - and to apply it in every situation we face. It's a call to transformation, urging us to align our thoughts, actions, and attitudes with the reality of being in Christ. TODAY'S PRAYER: Keeping the Sabbath, Lord, will require a lot of changes in the way I am living life. Teach me, Lord, how to take the next step with this in a way that fits my unique personality and situation. Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His Name, He gave the right to become children of God-- children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. The Lord uses His word in the midst of our trials to make us more like Christ.
Matthew 1:23 KJV - 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Luke 1:46-80 KJV - 46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, 47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. 48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. 49 For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. 50 And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation. 51 He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. 53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away. 54 He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy; 55 As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever. 56 And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned to her own house. 57 Now Elisabeth's full time came that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son. 58 And her neighbours and her cousins heard how the Lord had shewed great mercy upon her; and they rejoiced with her. 59 And it came to pass, that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; and they called him Zacharias, after the name of his father. 60 And his mother answered and said, Not so; but he shall be called John. 61 And they said unto her, There is none of thy kindred that is called by this name. 62 And they made signs to his father, how he would have him called. 63 And he asked for a writing table, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they marvelled all. 64 And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spake, and praised God. 65 And fear came on all that dwelt round about them: and all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of Judæa. 66 And all they that heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, What manner of child shall this be! And the hand of the Lord was with him. 67 And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying, 68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people, 69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David; 70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began: 71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us; 72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant; 73 The oath which he sware to our father Abraham, 74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, 75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life. 76 And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; 77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins, 78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, 79 To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. 80 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.
Matthew 1:23 KJV - 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
The trial and crucifixion of Christ was the most serious abuse of justice there ever was. But the prophetic parallels to today are so astounding and are being played out with similar motives and practices. Join us as we examine more of the prophetic parallels to our time from the illegal trial of Christ.

This Bible study was taught by Ed Paone at Greentree Church on April 30, 2025. Series: Know Who You Are: Our Identity in Christ.
In this special episode of Eat Don't Compete, I'm joined by the one and only Patricia Gaskins for a natural and genuine conversation about our identities in Christ and the beautiful, sometimes messy journeys of becoming. How many of us can admit we're still on that journey?
• How God sees justice • Sin is ultimately against Yahweh • Yahweh demands restitution • Blood is necessary for restitution • God planned to have justice through the Savior • With the covenants: Yahweh taught man that blood was needed to sign the contracts Why was it necessary for God the Son to come to earth, live a perfect life, and die on the Cross? Listen to this lesson to understand that the life of the flesh is in the blood and that without blood there is no redemption. See that restitution is required, and that all sin is against God, our Creator. See that throughout history we have a picture of substitution of the innocent for the guilty.
The Supremacy and Pre-Eminence of Christ Part 2 Hebrews 1
Content Warning: This episode includes discussion of child sexual assault. In today's conversation, Nadine sits down with Rebecca Hitchcock, author of What I Didn't Learn in Church, to unpack the heavy but vital topic of shame. Rebecca vulnerably shares her personal story of experiencing sexual abuse at age five, the lingering shame it caused throughout her life, and how it resurfaced during her struggles with postpartum depression. Raised in a Christian home and once a high-level fashion director in Chicago, Rebecca eventually left her career to raise her family and pursue deeper spiritual healing. For more than two decades, she has led women's Bible studies across the Midwest, helping others find freedom in Christ. Her book, What I Didn't Learn in Church, shares many of these lessons and is available at rebeccahitchcock.org (rebeccahitchcock.org). Rebecca explains how her understanding of God's Word radically shifted her experience of shame. She invites listeners to stop hustling for worthiness and instead receive the “double portion” of acceptance and identity God offers in Scripture. Together, Nadine and Rebecca walk through key Bible passages that anchor the episode's message, including: Isaiah 61:7 — Instead of your shame there shall be a double portion. 2 Corinthians 5:17 — Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. 2 Corinthians 5:21 — He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God. Matthew 11:28 — Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. This episode reminds every woman that shame has no claim on her life when she stands in Christ's freedom. Rebecca encourages listeners to take even five minutes to sit with God, ask for His love, and begin exchanging shame for the truth of who they are in Him.

Being in Christ, Part 1 MESSAGE SUMMARY: Overview of Prior Series: Turkeys and Eagles: This Series has been looking at Paul's letter to the Ephesians to point out “Turkeyisms” – things by which have duped us into believing or behaving in ways which aren't what Christianity is all about. This Series has pointed out some changes in our thinking needed so that we can be like “Eagles” -- to be the people that God wants and intended for us to be. Ephesians 6 mentions “praying in the Spirit” – praying with a focus on the Lord. Prayer is the most powerful weapon we have, but we fail to use it. Prayer is the privilege we are given to enter into the holiness of the Universe's Creator. When we bring our situations to God, His presence invades those situations. Sermon: To Live Is Christ: We have too many in the Christian Church that do not know who they are in Jesus. Therefore, too many Christians live their lives with no purpose or vision; and due to this ignorance, they often live in fear and disillusionment about their spiritual life. “Being in Christ”: When we first came to faith in Jesus, something miraculous happened – we were transferred from the “kingdom of darkness” to the “kingdom of light” – we went from not being in Jesus to being in Jesus. However, most of us don't live like we are in Jesus. Being in Jesus is like being in the water scuba diving – being in Jesus effects everything (e.g., thoughts, actions, movements, feelings – even those things needed to stay alive). We need to become aware of who we are in Jesus. Once we are in Jesus, we have a struggle with our very being. Paul tells us, in 1 Thessalonians 5:23, that we are body, soul, and spirit – our spirit is where God indwells us when we are in Christ. To live in Christ, we must yield our body and soul to the spirit. In Philippians 1:21, Paul tells us that “for me to live is Christ” – Christ is what life is all about. Remembering “to live is Christ” reminds us that we live in the Kingdom of God, and God is in charge. In whatever circumstance we are facing in our lives, “to Live is Christ”. Also, Paul, in Philippians 1, describes how we have a work in Christ which includes being a witness for Christ. We are either “in Christ” or “not in Christ” -- “to Live is Christ”. TODAY'S PRAYER: Keeping the Sabbath, Lord, will require a lot of changes in the way I am living life. Teach me, Lord, how to take the next step with this in a way that fits my unique personality and situation. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM RIGHTEOUS IN GOD'S EYES. God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Ephesians 6:10-20; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Philippians 1:21-30; Ephesians 1:3-4; Colossians 1:1-2.
