Hey friend— This one's tender. Because even though I'm not naturally a yeller, I've had seasons where the pressure, the noise, the responsibilities… it all just spilled over. And I'd snap. But the shame that followed always hurt worse than the yelling itself. In today's episode, I'm opening up about those moments and what they taught me. We'll walk through the difference between external behavior and internal signals—why yelling is usually a red flag that something deeper needs care. I'll show you simple, practical tools that help you regulate your emotions, guide your kids with gentleness, and create calm even in a loud, high-demand season. If you've ever whispered to yourself, “This isn't the mom I want to be…”—this one's for you. We'll also talk about the biblical roots of gentleness, how family government reduced the friction in my home, and why yelling is often your body's cry for support—not a sign you're failing.

Reason To Behold
Loving This WILL Lead to Prosperity (the Biblical Way) - RTBP Episode 222

Reason To Behold

In episode 222 of the Reason to Behold podcast, Arnold dives deep into one of the most misunderstood biblical tensions: why God tells us not to love money, yet calls us to love something that produces it—wisdom. If you've been stuck in cycles of financial frustration, confusion around breakthrough, or silently wondering whether it's wrong to desire more, this episode is the answer you didn't know you needed. Discover how the Bible provides a divine blueprint for receiving wealth without being destroyed by it. This conversation will reshape how you pray, how you think about success, and most importantly, how you walk in God's design for prosperity—with wisdom leading the way. Key Discussion Points 00:00 – A Biblical “Contradiction”? Why love wisdom (which brings wealth) but not money? 01:47 – Wisdom Over Hustle Breakthroughs come from biblical wisdom, not more effort. 02:50 – Foundation First: Start With Ep. 218 Begin with the full Kingdom framework before financial lessons. 04:32 – What Is Wisdom—Really? It's more than intelligence or experience—it's a spiritual principle. 05:45 – Wisdom as Skill How God gave craftsmen wisdom to build—and what that means for your finances. 09:20 – Solomon's Story Solomon asked for wisdom—and gained everything else. 10:06 – Stuck or in Debt? Ask This James 1:5 shows how divine wisdom leads to transformation. 12:23 – Love Wisdom, Not Wealth One leads to blessing, the other to ruin. 14:47 – Chase Wisdom Relentlessly Scripture urges us to pursue wisdom for lasting fruit. 17:18 – Spirit-Filled Skill Wisdom makes you reliable and trusted in Kingdom wealth. 20:00 – Wealth in Her Hands, Not Heart Wisdom brings wealth as a byproduct—not the goal. 22:21 – How to Ask for Wisdom James 1:5 explained—God wants to give it. 27:02 – Spotting Wisdom in Your Life Five ways wisdom may already be showing up. 31:59 – The Fruit of Wisdom Signs that you're walking in true wisdom. 33:21 – Your Next Step Ask, expect, and obey—live wisely every day. 35:43 – Sneak Peek: Next Episode Wisdom is shouting—here's how to hear her in the real world. Highlights From The Episode The Bible warns us against loving money (Hebrews 13:5, 1 Timothy 6:10) but commands us to love wisdom (Proverbs 4:7–8). The difference lies in purpose and posture. Wisdom, or “chokma” in Hebrew, is not just knowledge—it's applied, Spirit-filled skill for real-life decisions. God gave wisdom to craftsmen—not just prophets—to build things that were sacred and lasting. That wisdom brought provision and legacy. Praying for wisdom instead of just financial rescue is often the key to lasting breakthrough. Wisdom often shows up in simple, quiet ways: a gut check, a timely scripture, a conversation, or a new conviction. Practical Steps You Can Take Ask for Wisdom Today Don't wait—James 1:5 says if you ask, God will give generously. Recognise Wisdom's Form It may come through journaling, scripture, or this podcast. Stay alert. Act on It Even if it's hard or costly, obey the wisdom you receive. Review Episode 218+ These episodes lay the biblical groundwork for sound financial thinking. Share the Wisdom Send this to a friend or post it—wisdom grows when it's shared. Q: My husband and I are looking at the option of IVF in our fertility journey. Do you think that there is a biblical way to go about this process?  Summary In this conversation, Dr. E and Hanna discuss the emotional and ethical complexities of infertility, focusing on whether there is a biblical way to go about IVF. They explore key questions couples must ask—most importantly, why they want to have children—and emphasize the need for unity between spouses before pursuing any path. Drawing from personal experience and trusted Christian ethics resources, Dr. E highlights issues surrounding embryo creation, selection, and storage, as well as the emotional weight of long-term outcomes. They stress that neither IVF nor adoption is for everyone and that wisdom, prayer, and sound counsel are essential. Takeaways Adoption and IVF are not for everyone. Understanding the 'why' behind wanting a child is crucial. The ethical implications of embryo handling are significant. Couples should set a time frame for IVF procedures. Seek good counsel from trusted sources. Be cautious of advice from those with different experiences. God may provide children in unexpected ways. #169// One of the questions I get asked the most by ambitious, Jesus girls looking to launch into something new is, "So, how do I get my husband on board with this?"As a multi-passionate woman who wants to do #allthethings while being mindful of my marriage and family, it can feel a little tricky at times to keep everything in balance. This is especially true when I feel the Lord nudging me to start something new with Him that will require me to carve out some time, energy and effort from somewhere else to apply to the new thing. This is generally where it becomes apparent that I'll need to be having a conversation with the hubs. You been there?Even if your husband is super supportive of everything you dream up to do, he's likely still going to have questions and even possibly some concerns when it comes to your shifting time, energy and effort around. You're going to have to have a conversation, right? Wouldn't it be good to know how to conduct a conversation like this in such a way that it's very easy for your husband to hop on board and maybe even help with the transition you're suggesting? On this episode of the Positioned to Prosper podcast, I'm sharing four simple yet powerful tips for how to approach a conversation like this with your husband that'll produce less friction and more agreement. What You Need to Know About Forgiveness, Reconciliation, and Repentance (Set Yourself Free from the Painful Relationships the Biblical Way)

What's The Truth

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 31, 2024 21:18

I want to talk about something that is tough, but super important - forgiveness, reconciliation, and repentance.  For years, I struggled with what others expected me to do versus what God told me. It was a constant battle because these opinions came from people I deeply respected. But every time, something inside me stopped. It took years and some recent experiences to realize that this hesitation was God protecting me. People often confuse forgiveness and reconciliation, thinking they're the same thing. But they're not. And repentance isn't just about saying sorry to excuse bad behavior—it's about truly changing. Forgiveness starts with God — it's not just about saying, “I forgive you.” It's about letting go of resentment while still acknowledging the pain. Reconciliation, on the other hand, is like two people with drawbridges. Both have to be willing to lower their bridges to rebuild the connection. Trust isn't instantly restored; it has to be earned and maintained. Repentance means turning back to God. It's a genuine response to godly sorrow, which is a profound recognition of our sins and shortcomings. This sorrow leads to repentance, changing our minds, hearts, and direction. It's redemptive and life-giving, making us more receptive to God's grace and compassionate towards others. No matter the relationship—whether it's with a friend, family member, partner, or spouse—these three elements will always be part of the process if both people are willing to work on it.  Rooting for you, Jessica Next steps: Get my free 3-day study and learn how to deal with your emotions in a biblical way: https://www.jessicahottle.com/3-day-study/ Work with me 1:1 as your mental health coach: https://www.coachjessica.com Check out my biblical studies: https://www.jessicahottle.com/shop Work with me in my Untangle Your Thoughts program: https://www.jessicahottle.com/heal Email me at >> jessica@jessicahottle.com

The Bible has something for everything we're going through. It's a very normal thing for every human being to experience the need for conflict resolution, whether it be with a friend, family member, or significant other. As Christians, we are called to place the Bible as our standard because it is the truth. Matthew 24:35 tells us, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” In this episode Lade breaks down the “Matthew 18 principle” to discuss how the Bible instructs us to go about resolving conflict as opposed to how the world would like us to go about it. As you're listening allow the voice of God to correct the way you've handled conflict in your life. This episode from God is also a sign to give anyone you haven't properly forgiven a call and resolve that conflict the right way, The Biblical Way. “This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.”Colossians 1:21-22 NLT“Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other's faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.”Colossians 3:12-17 NLT“But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favorites.”Colossians 3:25 NLTSocials :Ig- https://www.instagram.com/t.a.w.h.e/Tiktok- https://www.tiktok.com/@t.a.w.h.e Click this link for questions and various submissions that will be featured on the podcast: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe68kUUy1I1qUUXd8D8NBfi2NvYQaKjf9ncRxEohwM1zZ19bQ/viewform?usp=sf_link

Leslie continues her Christ-Centered Mentoring series with this poignant episode on handling criticism and personal attack in a Biblical and Christ-honoring way. One we begin to influence others towards truth, personal attack from others often goes with the territory. Unless we have a Biblical perspective on these attacks, the enemy can often use them to distract us or discourage us from our calling. In this message, Leslie dives deep into Scriptural truths that can prove invaluable in helping us triumph through personal attack and allowing it to strengthen both our spiritual lives and our ministry to others. To learn more about the Set Apart Magazine and Leslie's online mentoring program, visit www.setapartgirl.com.
