When was the last time your marriage felt deeply connected instead of simply functional? Maybe lately your marriage feels more like roommates than soulmates. You're coordinating schedules, managing responsibilities, handling the kids, building businesses, and falling into bed exhausted at the end of the day. You still love each other, but somewhere along the way, the connection started fading into routine. In today's conversation, I'm joined by my friend Lindsey Maestas for a deeply honest discussion about the quiet disconnection so many couples experience but rarely talk about. This isn't a typical episode for this show, but I truly believe this conversation matters. As Christian entrepreneurs, it can be easy to slowly fall into self-focused thinking without even realizing it. Thoughts like “What about my happiness?” or “What about my needs?” can quietly replace the posture of “What would Jesus have me do?” And over time, those small hidden habits can slowly create distance in a marriage. The truth is, so many couples are struggling silently. From the outside, everything looks fine, but internally, there's emotional distance, exhaustion, resentment, or simply feeling unseen. We sweep it under the rug because we assume this is just what marriage becomes after enough years, responsibilities, and busy seasons. But Lindsey shares why that “quiet disconnection” matters so much and how couples can begin finding their way back to each other before the distance grows even deeper. Lindsey shares wisdom from her book, Don't Burn Your Own House Down: Prioritizing Your Marriage, Your Spouse, and Yourself for a Deeper Connection, along with practical and biblical encouragement for restoring connection in a healthy, God-centered way. Friend, I believe healthy and fruitful marriages are possible. God cares deeply about the health of your home just as much as the success of your business. If your marriage has felt distant lately, I pray this conversation encourages you with grace, honesty, hope, and practical next steps toward deeper connection. I pray this blesses you! This conversation I have with Beatty Carmichael is one I've been thinking about since we recorded it. Beatty has spent decades learning to trust God at His word through financial near-disasters and real-world healings, and what he shares here is deeply biblical... and quietly life-changing.Beatty Carmichael is a businessman, author, and healing practitioner and the author of The Prayer of Freedom.Expect to explore what it actually means to take God at His word in financial crisis, how Beatty tripled his giving while broke and why the math still worked, what scripture says about the connection between unconfessed sin and physical sickness, the heavenly courtroom framework and why pleading the blood of Jesus isn't just metaphor, and how anxiety, chronic pain, and addiction can disappear through confession and repentance.Chapters00:00 Tripling His Giving While Broke: The Story That Started It All06:37 The $25 Test: What Happened When Beatty Gave 45% of His Income11:38 Naaman's Story and Why Faith Is Just Obedience19:14 "If You Believed I Would, How Would You Be Acting?"25:30 Learning to Hear God's Voice and Why Beatty Stopped Trusting Men to Interpret Scripture32:00 How Sin Creates a Legal Opening for the Enemy40:00 The Heavenly Courtroom Vision and Pleading the Blood of Jesus58:32 The Biblical Pattern: Sin, Sickness, and Confession01:06:12 Anxiety Gone in Four Minutes: A Real Story from the Prayer Line01:12:03 Catherine's Story: Heroin, Migraines, and Anxiety — All GoneIf something in this conversation stirred something in you, I hope you'll sit with it... and maybe even bring one part of it to God and ask Him what He wants you to do with it.

This podcast episode from Vows to Keep explains that marital conflict usually comes from inner desires and spiritual battles, not from a spouse being the “enemy.” Drawing from James 4, Galatians 5, Ephesians 6, and other passages, David and Tracy urge listeners to:Identify and list their desires (tangible and intangible)Sort them into biblical, neutral, and sinful categories, backed by ScriptureBring those desires to God in prayer, examining motivesShift from demanding personal wants to trusting God as FatherSurrender desires with an “open hand,” seeking more of God (His Spirit, presence, and purposes) rather than worldly fulfillmentThey emphasize three key words—belief, trust, and surrender—as the path to healthier “roots” in the heart, which leads to less fighting, greater unity, and a biblically healthy marriageSupport the showFor episode transcripts, click HERE.For more marriage encouragement, visit: www.VowsToKeep.com | V2K Blog | Marriage Counseling | Insta | FBApple Podcast listener? Romans 8:28-30 — The doctrine of the perseverance of the saints is a contested doctrine. Those who hold to the cherished doctrine of assurance must acknowledge the difficult objections posed and not ignore them. Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones recognizes this and serves as a positive example of an exegete who does not shy away from engaging the most often-cited Scriptures that seem to contradict his personal beliefs. In a manner that not only demonstrates a responsible handling of Scripture, he also demonstrates humility in his exegetical task. In this message on Romans 8:28–30 titled “The Biblical Way,” Dr. Lloyd-Jones outlines his principles of interpretation. He encourages interpreters of the Bible to operate on the principle of Scripture alone. Rather than allowing philosophy to govern one's interpretation, he argues that the Christian should allow Scripture to interpret Scripture. Furthermore, one should start with the unambiguous “proof texts” and then deal with the difficult texts in light of the clear statements. He applies these interpretive principles as he works through famous passages like the Parable of the Sower, Hebrews 6, and 2 Peter 2. Listen as Dr. Lloyd-Jones lays out interpretive principles that all Christians should implement in their personal study of sacred Scripture. In this jam-packed episode of Worldview Legacy, Joel Settecase explores the deep questions that define who we are and how we live. What does it mean to be made in the image of God? Why are young men in Gen Z facing a crisis of identity? And how do ancient flood myths from around the world support the Bible's historical truth?Joel begins with a moment of humble self-reflection, sharing why he took down a previous episode that didn't meet the Think Institute's high standards. Then he walks through the biblical case for why animals are not made in the image of God—and what makes human beings utterly unique in creation. You'll also hear Joel break down sobering new research on the identity crisis among Gen Z men, and how scripture engagement dramatically boosts confidence and purpose. Finally, he uncovers fascinating global flood legends—Aztec, Hindu, Chinese, and Babylonian—that actually confirm the biblical account rather than undermine it.In this episode, you'll learn:Why the Think Institute removed an episode about Pokémon and IsraelWhat it really means to be made in the image of GodWhy animals, though amazing, do not bear God's imageFrancis Schaeffer's powerful framework for understanding man vs. beastWhat's driving the Gen Z male identity crisis—and how to fix itHow knowing scripture transforms your view of yourselfWhy dozens of cultures around the world have similar flood storiesHow the Tower of Babel explains the spread of “myth”Why the biblical flood account is superior to all othersWhat Jesus and the apostles said about Noah's flood—and why it mattersTakeaways:You are not a beast. You are made in God's image. The Bible gives the clearest, truest picture of who you are.Identity isn't found in feelings—it's found in following Jesus Christ. The truth of scripture is not just spiritual—it's historical and global.Relevant Passages:Genesis 1:26–27, Psalm 139:13–14, 1 Corinthians 13:11, Proverbs 10:19, Romans 12:2, Matthew 24:37–39, 2 Peter 2:5Join the Hammer & Anvil SocietyIf you're ready to stop drifting and start building your life on the truth, join the discipleship community for men who want to lead in faith, family, and worldview.
Hey friend— This one's tender. Because even though I'm not naturally a yeller, I've had seasons where the pressure, the noise, the responsibilities… it all just spilled over. And I'd snap. But the shame that followed always hurt worse than the yelling itself. In today's episode, I'm opening up about those moments and what they taught me. We'll walk through the difference between external behavior and internal signals—why yelling is usually a red flag that something deeper needs care. I'll show you simple, practical tools that help you regulate your emotions, guide your kids with gentleness, and create calm even in a loud, high-demand season. If you've ever whispered to yourself, “This isn't the mom I want to be…”—this one's for you. We'll also talk about the biblical roots of gentleness, how family government reduced the friction in my home, and why yelling is often your body's cry for support—not a sign you're failing.
Are you constantly dragged down by past defeats, defined by old regrets, or stuck dwelling on disappointments? What if the enemy's biggest strategy for your future is keeping you chained to your past? This week on The Leader's Cut, Preston Morrison dives into a crucial conversation about the past. Many of us are unknowingly held captive by what's already happened – whether it's our own mistakes, the hurts inflicted by others, or the dark deeds done to or around us. This episode isn't about ignoring your past, but about learning The Biblical Way To Move On. Preston unpacks four transformative keys to dealing with your past – from learning and moving up to being healed and moving in. You'll discover: How to stop letting your biggest regrets define you. The power of forgiveness to release others and free yourself. Why unhealed hurts keep you on the outside looking in. What's so dangerous about a past-focused life? Why dwelling on past defeats makes you bound to repeat them. Are you ready to break free from the chains of yesterday? It's time to face what's been chasing you and step into the abundant life in Christ.

Q: My husband and I are looking at the option of IVF in our fertility journey. Do you think that there is a biblical way to go about this process? Summary In this conversation, Dr. E and Hanna discuss the emotional and ethical complexities of infertility, focusing on whether there is a biblical way to go about IVF. They explore key questions couples must ask—most importantly, why they want to have children—and emphasize the need for unity between spouses before pursuing any path. Drawing from personal experience and trusted Christian ethics resources, Dr. E highlights issues surrounding embryo creation, selection, and storage, as well as the emotional weight of long-term outcomes. They stress that neither IVF nor adoption is for everyone and that wisdom, prayer, and sound counsel are essential. Takeaways Adoption and IVF are not for everyone. Understanding the 'why' behind wanting a child is crucial. The ethical implications of embryo handling are significant. Couples should set a time frame for IVF procedures. Seek good counsel from trusted sources. Be cautious of advice from those with different experiences. God may provide children in unexpected ways. The New Testament clearly teaches that each church must be supervised by pastors and elders. What isn't so clear is whether local churches should belong to broader church assemblies and yield to decisions made by these assemblies.

#169// One of the questions I get asked the most by ambitious, Jesus girls looking to launch into something new is, "So, how do I get my husband on board with this?"As a multi-passionate woman who wants to do #allthethings while being mindful of my marriage and family, it can feel a little tricky at times to keep everything in balance. This is especially true when I feel the Lord nudging me to start something new with Him that will require me to carve out some time, energy and effort from somewhere else to apply to the new thing. This is generally where it becomes apparent that I'll need to be having a conversation with the hubs. You been there?Even if your husband is super supportive of everything you dream up to do, he's likely still going to have questions and even possibly some concerns when it comes to your shifting time, energy and effort around. You're going to have to have a conversation, right? Wouldn't it be good to know how to conduct a conversation like this in such a way that it's very easy for your husband to hop on board and maybe even help with the transition you're suggesting? On this episode of the Positioned to Prosper podcast, I'm sharing four simple yet powerful tips for how to approach a conversation like this with your husband that'll produce less friction and more agreement. I want to talk about something that is tough, but super important - forgiveness, reconciliation, and repentance. For years, I struggled with what others expected me to do versus what God told me. It was a constant battle because these opinions came from people I deeply respected. But every time, something inside me stopped. It took years and some recent experiences to realize that this hesitation was God protecting me. People often confuse forgiveness and reconciliation, thinking they're the same thing. But they're not. And repentance isn't just about saying sorry to excuse bad behavior—it's about truly changing. Forgiveness starts with God — it's not just about saying, “I forgive you.” It's about letting go of resentment while still acknowledging the pain. Reconciliation, on the other hand, is like two people with drawbridges. Both have to be willing to lower their bridges to rebuild the connection. Trust isn't instantly restored; it has to be earned and maintained. Repentance means turning back to God. It's a genuine response to godly sorrow, which is a profound recognition of our sins and shortcomings. This sorrow leads to repentance, changing our minds, hearts, and direction. It's redemptive and life-giving, making us more receptive to God's grace and compassionate towards others. No matter the relationship—whether it's with a friend, family member, partner, or spouse—these three elements will always be part of the process if both people are willing to work on it. Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you desperately needed to take care of yourself, but the overwhelming feelings of guilt and shame held you back? This struggle is real, and many of us have experienced it. But why do we find it so hard to prioritize our well-being? A healthy relationship with ourselves stems from a healthy relationship with God. What we believe about God we will believe about ourselves and then live as though we believe it. In this episode, I discuss how misunderstanding scripture has led us to deny our emotions, feelings, desires, and wants - especially with our bodies. I also give you a few questions to process throughout the week to help reframe your thinking around the meaning and value of true self-care. WHEN YOU BECOME A CHRISTIAN, TRANSFORMATION IS INSTANT, RIGHT?! Well, no… Not necessarily. Many of us wait for change “to happen” to us like some sort of supernatural wave that is going to knock us over…. Only to find out that, even after accepting Christ, we are STILL US in character and mood. Darn. The truth is that though you hold the eternal position of a saint instantly, transformation and change often require us to walk the steps of growth and change to actually be more “saint-like”. And giving YOURSELF the leftovers? You are trying to please everyone and the simple fact is… you are depleted. Your bucket is empty so when you dip your cup into the bucket it comes up dry. Dry is what you are giving out to yourself. Drips and drops are what you are giving out to others…. There is a better way. God tells us so in His word. We are going to practice the art of REST this week. Resting WITH God. Practice the art of self-care, God's way. It's not selfish. It's a command from our Almighty God who created us. Let's flip the script on SELF-CARE & SELF-LOVE and embrace the art of REST.... WITH God. I pray this encourages you today! XO, Michelle DOORS OPEN FOR THE NEXT ROUND!! PRAY & APPLY!
