Title: Thanksgiving Service 2025 You can also view the service at ECC's Facebook Page or download our church app (Evangelical Christian Church - Waterbury) if you haven't already. Would you please help us out in sharing this information especially with those who are not online. Remember the church is not a building, ~it's the people of God, ~filled with the presence of God, ~set apart to do the works of God. Christ has enabled us to do that in the world and not primarily in a building. Remember the golden rule during this time of uncertainty. Let's use this time to advance the purposes of God and stay connected with each other. Romans 8:28, Pastor Paul Heidt

1 Kings 18:38-39Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that [was] in the trench. And when all the people saw [it], they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he [is] the God; the LORD, he [is] the God.

This Sunday isn't just about giving thanks, it's about remembering. We'll gather for our final Thanksgiving celebration in this building, and we're marking the moment with a special service reflecting on the years of faithfulness, growth, and grace we've experienced here. From the very beginning to today, God has been so good, and we want to honor His hand through it all.Let's fill this house with gratitude one more time. “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” – Psalm 107:1

The biggest fear for a new creation believer is not death or failure but the fear of the unknown, the fear of not fulfilling potential on earth, and not reaching the fullness of one's capacity.Pastor Shola teaches that what Jesus can do, we as believers can also do. Jesus' finished work is our starting point; what He did, we are empowered to continue. God's pattern is completion; what He starts, He finishes. The believer must therefore pursue the same fullness and finish well.He explains that many believers struggle with how to move from the unseen to the seen, from what they have caught in their spirit to becoming what they have seen. In Genesis 12:2–3, God tells Abraham to leave behind everything familiar because what God wanted to do required separation from the past. The past is often the spiritual hook that stops people from fulfilling God's plan. Whenever God wants to begin a new thing, you must forget the former things. Holding on to the past closes the doorway to the future.Romans 8:19 reminds us that the world is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. To become what you have seen in your spirit, you must let go of what you have been used to.Your focus determines your fruit. You cannot move forward while constantly looking back. Pastor Shola highlights a spiritual tool that every believer must hold on to—the tool of joy. As we come to the end of the year, joy becomes a necessary weapon. Jeremiah 15:16 shows that the Word of God births joy, and Habakkuk 3:17–18 reminds us that even when things do not look like they are working, we must maintain our joy.Joy is a spiritual weapon. Joy is the fetcher that draws your becoming out of what God has spoken. Without joy, even prophecy can stay stagnant. One of the ways to step into your next level is to remember what God has done before. Your testimony is your weapon. If God has done it before, He can do it again. The timing of God is perfect; He never mismanages lives. Some things will only happen in His time. There are three things in the Kingdom that define our posture—righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Sometimes the snare to your next level is your past, but joy is the armour that carries you into your future.Join us in this service as we experience joy in the Holy Ghost, for what is ahead of you requires joy to bring it forth.ABOUT THE NEWWe are a people of love and excellence who are result-oriented, spirit-led, word-rooted, prayer-driven, and kingdom-conscious. During our Thanksgiving service, we will be reflecting on Exodus 15:1-21, A Song of Praise. God has rescued his people from the armies of Pharaoh, leading them out of slavery into freedom. On the far side of the sea, Moses and the people of Israel sing a song of praise, a song filled with gratitude for what God has done, but also gratitude for who Good is. We often give thanks for what God has done for us; it's as important to be grateful for who God is, our creator, father, redeemer, and even friend.

Speaker: Rev Ashley Graham

10/12/25 Prayer in Relation to Missions Harvest Festival Pastor Dave Stabler Praise Tabernacle NJ
Psalm 96 is a joyful invitation that resounds across the earth, calling every person, tribe, and nation to worship the Lord. It begins with the words, “Sing to the Lord a new song,” and continues by urging all creation to proclaim His glory among the nations. Worship in this Psalm is not confined to one people or one place. It is a universal summons to acknowledge the greatness, beauty, and authority of the one true God who made the heavens and rules with perfect righteousness. The Psalmist's vision looks forward to the day when all the families of the earth will bow before the Lord and rejoice in His coming to judge the world in truth. This vision finds its ultimate fulfillment in Jesus Christ. Through His life, death, and resurrection, the good news of salvation has gone out to all nations, inviting every heart to worship the Lord in spirit and truth. Psalm 96 reminds us that our songs of praise join a global chorus of believers who confess that Jesus is Lord. Worshipping God with the Psalms is both our present joy and our eternal destiny in Christ.Prayer and Praise Thanksgiving ServiceSeries: Worship SeriesSpeaker: Pastor David Hallett

At our October Testimony & Thanksgiving Service, Pastor Femi Paul brought a powerful word titled “The Good Life.” He opened with a simple yet profound truth: there is a difference between life and the good life. According to Psalm 21:4–6 (MSG), “He wanted a good life; You gave it to him, and as a bonus, You made it a long life!” PFPexplained that the good life is not just about existence but about living meaningfully, enjoying divine health, fulfilment, peace, loving relationships, and prosperity. Drawing from T. L. Osborn's teachings, he described the good life as one that is spiritually, emotionally, and physically satisfying, anchored on faith in God's promises and principles. He further reminded the church that a short or empty life is not God's design. The Lord intends for His people to live long and live well. In this new month of October, PFP declared that we will experience the Generosity of God in full measure. God will not only bless us He will also add bonuses and surprises beyond expectation. As we walk in obedience and gratitude, may the Lord grant us the blessing of a good, long, and joyful life, lifting us high and piling blessings upon us and our loved ones. Indeed, this October, we will live the good life and live it well!
At today's Testimony and Thanksgiving Service, Pastor Femi Paul shared a powerful message titled Real Peace, Peace of Heart and Mind. Drawing from John 16:33, he reminded us that while the world offers tribulations, frustrations, and fleeting comfort, Jesus gives a peace that is complete, unshakable, and permanent. This peace is not fragile or circumstantial but a divine gift that steadies the heart and mind, in every season of life. Real peace is proof of real faith in God. It anchors the soul, guards the mind, and ushers in the power of God in ways human reasoning cannot explain. As believers, we are called to embrace this peace, refuse anxiety, and live confidently in Christ who has already overcome the world. Peace of heart and mind is not only possible, it is our inheritance through Christ Jesus.
This August is our Month of Help from Above and Help from Around!
