Joshua 23 is Joshua's final charge to Israel's leaders. As the leader's life nears its end Joshua summons the nation's leaders to pass on the baton of responsibility to these men. Joshua draws their attention to the mighty acts of Israel's Omnipotent Sovereign on behalf of His people. Joshua reminds them of the need to complete the subduing of the Canaanites. He counsels the tribal leaders to give diligent attention to Yahweh's Word. In verses 6-9 the charge he gives them is a reflection of the words of his God, and of Moses' counsel, to himself. Verses 10-13 Joshua reminds them of the words of the covenant from the book of Deuteronomy. Verse 14 he tells the leaders of his impending death. He tells them of the results of failure to obey God. Chapter 24 speaks of Joshua's gathering of the nation to Shechem to counsel the entire nation to cleave unto their God and to serve Him faithfully all the days of their life. In verses 2-13 the nation is told their history from the time of Abraham's calling; their sojourn in the Land of Promise; their afflictions in Egypt; the mighty hand of the LORD in their miraculous deliverance from Egypt; the providential care of their Father in the wilderness; and, the incredible and miraculous aid provided to them in the conquest of the Promised Land. Verses 14-28 record Joshua's appeal to his people to serve Yahweh in sincerity (spirit) and truth – compare Jesus' own instructions on this John 4:23-24. Joshua declares his wholehearted commitment that was evident throughout his entire life that he and his household would serve Yahweh. Interestingly enough we have no record of Joshua having any descendants and in this he was like his Lord Jesus Christ – Hebrews 2:10-13. He challenges the nation to make the same commitment. In verses 16-18 the people respond by acknowledging the LORD's faithfulness and their determination to follow Joshua's example. Joshua says that even though they have promised to serve God they would fail to carry out their obligations. Joshua tells the nation what the consequences of departure from the covenant would mean. The nation would be chastened by their Father for failing to keep their promises. Yahweh is a Jealous God who demands of His children a fulsome love and service. The words of the covenant were written in the Book of the Law of God and placed near a large memorial stone and set under a terebinth tree. Joshua told the nation that the written words were a witness against the nation. The assembly was dismissed and sent to their homes. Verses 29-33 record faithful Joshua's death and burial at 110 in his allotted inheritance. They also tell us of Joseph's bones (a faithful forbear of Joshua) finally being laid to rest. These two men of faith rest in the wonderful hope of resurrection to receive their eternal inheritance in the Promised Land. The book closes by telling us that the just Phinehas would endeavour to guide Israel in the way of the LORD. Isaiah 29 is about the siege of Jerusalem and the outcomes that would achieve. The chapter commences with a woe on Ariel – another name for Jerusalem – David's capital city. The name Ariel means “the lion of God”. It was called this for two reasons: 1) when Israel would roar forth to battle against the enemies of the LORD see Joel 3:16 and 2) it was the site of the Temple and of the altar where flesh was devoured. But as verses 2-7 explain the situation would be reversed when a multitude of nations would be gathered to destroy Jerusalem. This prophecy focuses on the future, for although other nations accompanied the Assyrians in their siege in the days of Hezekiah, its ultimate fulfilment is at the end time of Armageddon – see Ezekiel 38, Joel 3, Zechariah 14 and Revelation 16. Verse 8 outlines poetic pictures of the way the events seemed to those who found themselves besieged – it was like a dream that provided no satisfaction. Verses 9-10 speak derisively to the proud leaders of the nation. The nation would be staggering like a drunken man whose head was spinning due to the rapidity of problem upon problem with seemingly no way of solving their dilemmas. Verses 11-14 speak of the ways in which the nation's leaders refused to accept any responsibility for their situation. Verse 13 tells us that there was no true worship of their Sovereign – they merely gave lip service to the Almighty's call for their love and living of His Truth. There was a failure of leadership to accept responsibility for guiding the people in the Word of God, which alone could have averted their current peril and would fortify them in their time of trouble. Verses 15-16 pronounce a further woe upon those who had inverted the divine order. Verses 17-21 tell of the time to come which will follow the humbling of God's people. All pretence will be gone and consequently the time of blessings will come. Verses 22-24 tell us of the reconciliation of the Almighty Father with His children. The 12th chapter of Hebrews is about patience in hope. The first two verses in some ways belong to the previous chapter. The “cloud” of witnesses refers to the faithful mentioned in chapter 11, plus us (hopefully – 11:39-40). A cloud is formed by the action of the sun, which draws vapour from the masses of water in the sea and other places. Twice in v1 of chapter 12 do we hear those watchwords of resolution – “Let us …”. We commence the race for eternal life when we are baptised into our Lord Jesus Christ. In this race we follow our Lord who is our “archegos” ie the author, or founder of faith. Jesus has run the course and has entered into eternal life. Having finished the course he is running towards us and bringing the finishing tape with him. None of us will attain to life through our efforts. The writer of Hebrews speaks of the “sin that so easily besets” – the Greek expression is talking of “the sin that sits comfortably” with us ie the sin that we do not want to give up because we see it as not being of great importance. Yet the writer says that sin is impeding our path to the kingdom. But God has done in His Son what we cannot complete. What the Father asks of His children is that they believe, and follow and run with patience and endurance this race. Verses 3-17 is a lesson to be understood by all of the Father's children ie to patiently endure. If ever any of us should feel that the struggling against sin is too difficult – then think again. Consider the Lord's endurance cost him his life and even though he benefits from his sacrifice Jesus died to take away our sins. Then take heart and lift up the hanging hands and the feeble knees and press on. The Proverbs addresses these issue and through His Word the Father makes His appeal to each of us. The writer says that the fact we are suffering is proof that our Father is developing character in His children. The Father's aim is to have us live as His children ie in holiness that He might live with us perpetually in His kingdom. Present suffering is unpleasant, but we need to be longsighted and realise the eventual benefit of present trials. The writer says that the faithful are not like Esau who only lived in and for the present. Verses 18-29 reminds us that whatever can be shaken is temporary and transient. By contrast the kingdom prepared by the Father for His family is future. It is the centre of our hope. It is not momentary it is eternal. Verses 18-24 contrasts the terror experienced by Israel at Sinai with the uplifting sevenfold blessings that belong to Zion's children, freeborn of Jerusalem in Christ Jesus our Lord (see Galatians 4:21-31). I encourage each of you to explore those blessings in verses 22-24. The writer appeals to the listeners to heed the heavenly voice so as not to perish as those who are enslaved by Law and legalism. Verses 26-29 describe the benefits of the faithful, those enduring in hope, in receiving an unshakable, immovable and eternal kingdom. And so the writer directs our minds to the words of Haggai 2:6-9.

We are finally seeing and feeling a shift. We are finally to the point where we know and understand that the knowledge and power God meant for us to have here on earth has been in the wrong hands. Our enemy, satan, has done a lot of damage over centuries of time - but there has always been a remnant who continue to seek God and His TRUTH. And the ones that know His heart our listening to His voice. He is saying, "It's been in the wrong hands." God has more for us, and we will experience some amazing changes as God shifts the power back into the hands of His righteous ones! Praise the Lord! Read Online“I have told you this while I am with you. The Advocate, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name—he will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you.” John 14:25–26Sometimes we forget all that God has spoken to us. For example, we may have some clear experience of God's presence in our lives, such as a powerful spiritual insight gained through prayer, a deep conviction of His voice spoken through a sermon, the transforming freedom encountered through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, or some form of unmistakable clarity imparted through the reading of the holy Scriptures. When God speaks to us, imparting His Truth, strength, forgiveness and every other form of grace, we are spiritually consoled as we sense His closeness. But when trouble comes our way, those moments of clarity can be easily lost. The disciples would have had many clarifying experiences during the three years of Jesus' public ministry. They marveled at the spiritual authority they encountered in His sermons, witnessed countless miracles, looked on as sinners were set free, saw Jesus transfigured in glory, and watched our Lord enter deeply into prayer with the Father. Each time they encountered the power of God at work, they would have grown in their conviction that Jesus was the Messiah, the Son of God, the Savior of the World. But Jesus also knew that these disciples would soon have their faith in Him shaken. He knew that as they looked on from a distance in fear as Jesus was arrested, beaten and killed, they would start to forget all that they previously experienced. Fear can cause confusion, and Jesus knew that His disciples would soon fall into that trap. For this reason, Jesus spoke the words above to His disciples. He promised them that the Holy Spirit would soon come upon them to teach them everything and to remind them all that He told them. How nice it would be if every lesson we ever learned from God remained front and center in our lives. How nice it would be if we never allowed fear to confuse us and cause us to forget all that God has spoken to us in varied ways. Just as Jesus knew the disciples would need the help of the Holy Spirit to remember, He also knows that we need the same help from the Holy Spirit. Therefore, the words spoken to the disciples above are also spoken to us. “The Advocate, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name—he will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you.”What lessons of faith have you learned in the past that you need to be reminded of? It is the role of the Holy Spirit to bring those lessons to mind every time we need them. Therefore, as we move closer to the glorious celebration of the Solemnity of Pentecost, it is a good time to pray to the Holy Spirit and ask for the gift of remembering the many ways that God has revealed Himself to us. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit work in perfect harmony with each other, but each has a distinct role in our lives. The Holy Spirit's role is especially to lead us day-by-day into the fulfillment of the Father's will of becoming perfectly conformed to the Person of Christ Jesus. Reflect, today, upon this powerful promise that our Lord gave to His disciples and to us. Pray to the Holy Spirit. Open yourself to the Spirit's ongoing direction in your life and never allow fear to lead to confusion. Instead, allow God to dispel all confusion and to remind you of all that He has spoken to you throughout your life. Most glorious Lord Jesus, You promised the disciples and all Your people that the Holy Spirit would be sent to us to remind us of all that You have revealed. Holy Spirit, please continuously descend upon me, teach me and guide me. Help me to never forget the many lessons I have been taught so that I will never let fear lead to confusion. The annual Torah cycle reading for this week, Achre Mot, Leviticus chapters 16 through 18, takes place - literally as it says - "after the death" of Aaron's two sons, Nadab and Abihu. And it begins with a warning about what Aaron must do, so that he "die not," as well. The Erev Shabbat (Friday evening) begins there, and with a description of the 'two goats' associated with the Day of Atonement, or Yom Kippur. What then follows is another of the most "politially-INcorrect" sections in Scripture. And the fact that it IS tells us just how far into perversion the world has gone. And there is a warning here, too. The fact that SO much of what is today accepted as PC means that His Truth is now guaranteed to offend many. https://hebrewnationonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/SSM-5-9-25-Achre-Mot-teaching-podcast-xxx.mp3 it? SUMMARY: There is a dawning in the sons of God, that there is a level of maturity being created by the Father to bring them into the hope of their calling. The agency is the Holy Spirit, who is leading and guiding these ones into being one body and one spirit. He is in the process of coming within His people and bringing forth the Kingdom on earth. SHOW NOTES: In this day the believers who love God and believe that they have been called for His plan and purpose, are waking up to the process of becoming conformed to the image of His Son. One pitfall that these believers are facing is trying to do things for God outside of their relationship with God. The main emphasis is still to know God, but the awareness is shifting to more of a reality that He is coming forth in us. We—Christ's body-- are the kingdom of God. He is sitting at the right hand of the Father, making intercession until we bring His enemies under His feet. Just as the Holy Spirit came on the gathering at Pentecost, we need the power of the Holy Spirit leading and guiding us as we focus on bringing His kingdom onto this earth. Quotations: Look at Christ as He was born a baby. He was not just a Son of God; He was the Son of Man. He went through the same identifications with things and places and people that we do. The way it works is we do everything in Him, because it's in Him and through Him that we will see this work completed. The changes come almost imperceptibly. Our walk with Him comes from the life of Christ in us. He's walking in us. The goal is for His purposes, whatever that is, and we know His purpose is to redeem all of creation. There must be a willingness to do everything possible, to be alert to the times and the seasons, for God does not intend for us to put our heads in the sand like an ostrich...but neither does God want these things to choke out the Word until we are no longer listening to His Truth and following it. We always talk about how the early disciples walk with the Lord before the crucifixion, but we never talk about how they walk with the Lord after the crucifixion. A resurrected Christ appears before these guys and teaches them about the Kingdom of God for 40 days, and He does amazing things. Christ couldn't walk the way He walked without the fullness of the Holy Spirit, and neither can we. We have the prescription for coming into the fullness of the kingdom of God. It's

Read Online“Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is Lord alone!  You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.” Mark 12:29–30Why would you choose anything less than to love the Lord your God with ALL your heart, with ALL your soul, with ALL your mind, and with ALL your strength? Why would you choose anything less? Of course, we do choose many other things to love in life, even though Jesus is clear with this commandment. The truth is that the only way to love others, and even to love ourselves, is to choose to love God with ALL we are. God must be the one and only focus of our love. But what's amazing is that the more we do this, the more we realize that the love we have in our lives is the kind of love that overflows and overflows in superabundance. And it is this overflowing love of God that then pours forth on others. On the other hand, if we try to divide our loves by our own effort, giving God only part of our heart, soul, mind and strength, then the love we have for God cannot grow and overflow in the way God wants. We limit our capacity for love, and we fall into selfishness. Love of God is a truly amazing gift when it is total and all-consuming.Each one of these parts of our lives are worth pondering and examining. Think about your heart and how you are called to love God with your heart. And how does this differ from loving God with your soul? Perhaps your heart is more focused on your feelings, emotions and compassion. Perhaps your soul is more spiritual in nature. Your mind loves God the more it probes the depth of His Truth, and your strength is your passion and drive in life. Regardless of how you understand the various parts of your being, the key is that every part must love God in fullness.Reflect, today, upon the beautiful commandment of our Lord. It's a command of love, and it is given to us not so much for God's sake but for ours. God wants to fill us to the point of overflowing love. Why would we ever choose anything less?My loving Lord, Your love for me is infinite and perfect in every way.  I pray that I will learn to love You with every fiber of my being, holding nothing back, and to daily grow deeper in my love of You. As I grow in that love, I thank You for the overflowing nature of that love, and I pray that this love of You will flow into the hearts of those around me. I AM The Light of the World John. 8:12 (NIV) When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John.1:1-5 (NIV) “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John.14:6 Jesus and answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. The Light of His TRUTH, The light of His WORD, The light of ETERNAL LIFE. FIRST PROMISE, His followers will never walk in darkness, 2 Corinthians 4:7 (TLB) But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. Ephesians 1:18-19 (NIV) “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, . . . 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, Ephesians 3:17-18 (NIV) “. . . I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 1 John 1:5-7 (NIV) “This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all[a] sin. SECOND promise is we will reflect the Light of Life. John 8:12 (TLB) “Later, in one of his talks, Jesus said to the people, “I am the Light of the world. So if you follow me, you won't be stumbling through the darkness, for living light will flood your path.” Matthew 5:14-16 (NIV) “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NIV) But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. Isaiah 60: 1-3 (NIV) Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth, and deep darkness the peoples; But the Lord will rise upon you and His glory will appear upon you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. I AM; Child of God; I AM: Redeemed from the hand of the enemy I AM: A new creation. I AM the light of the World Isaiah 60 (AMP) "Arise [from the depression & prostration in which circumstances have kept you -- rise to a new life]!"

Scripture: Exodus 20:1-3, Psalm 19:1, Psalm 14:1, Psalm 33:8, Deuteronomy 6:4-5, Matthew 22:36-38, Proverbs 3:5-6.  It's God alone that we are to worship, honor and follow. Exodus 20:3 “You shall have no other gods before me.” The 10 Commandments have shaped so much of Western civilization and culture. Yet these ten words/commandments are often ignored  - And what we see as people's god is the god of chance. Our culture, and much of the time our educational system, teach us that all that exists is the result of a gigantic cosmic accident.  That chance is the author of life. This is seen in our media, our movies, and every direction we turn. A view that is accepted even though the science goes against it.  In the last 50 years we've learned much about the complexity of life and that it points to a Designer - not to a chance explosion. Our culture has not caught up to some of the remarkable discoveries in recent history. In the 1980's MIT discovered that the likelihood of self replicating DNA is 1 chance in 10 to the 65th power - that's 10 with 65 zeroes behind it showing us creation didn't start by “chance,” it started with a Designer, a Creator.  Psalm 19:1 “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” Not only do the heavens declare the glory of God, even at the microscopic and sub-atomic levels the complexity of creation screams that there is a Creator! Psalm 14:1 The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”  Not chance, but Creator… and it is because of the profound truth of a Designer, a Creator, that the Ten Commandments need to be re-examined in our day by believers and non-believers. God broke into human history on Mt. Sinai, proclaiming His goodness and power and delivering the Ten Commandments. God also stepped into history through Christ's resurrection. The Living God took on human flesh and lived among us, lived a servant life, willingly went to the cross, shed His blood for all, and is risen from the grave, ascended to the Father's right hand and He IS returning! God breaking into history changes how we look at our lives and it changes how we look at the Ten Commandments.   How do we see the Ten Commandments?     ⁃    As Painful Demands that God says we better do?     ⁃    As a Joyful Response to the move of God in history and in our hearts and lives? God has intervened in our history and intervened in our lives and He is good. He is asking us to listen to His voice. He is telling us He is our Designer and he knows what is best for us, to what will bring the greatest blessing in our lives. And that starts with the commandment that says, “You shall have no other God's before me.” It's God and God alone! He says YOU - in Greek this is singular - making this command personal. He is speaking individually to each of us. He's speaking to me. What does it mean for me to have no other gods?     ⁃    I am to revere Him alone He is to be the object of reverence in my life and my source of our awe. Psalm 33:8 says, “Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the people of the world revere him.” Fear God - is to be in awe of Him, fear God means I am accountable to Him.     ⁃    I am to love Him above all  Because He is my Creator, because He is good, because He sent Jesus my response to Him is to love Him. Deuteronomy 6:5 says, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” And in Matthew 22:36-38 Jesus is asked, “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” And Jesus replies: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment.”      ⁃    I am to commit my life to Him and to trust Him with all my heart. Proverbs 3:5-6 says,  “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight” He will guide and lead me. When I commit to Him I'm desiring to allow His Holy Spirit and His Truth to guide me, and to allow Jesus to reign as Lord in my life. Who is “The Lord?” In Deuteronomy 6:4 we read that He is ONE, “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.“ One God: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. One God but yet three unique persons and He is telling us in the first of His Words from Mt. Sinai to follow, trust, revere, love, worship and honor Him.  He offers us Salvation when we admit we need a Savior. “Lord, I need you, I am a sinner, and I desire to receive all that You have for me through my faith in Jesus, my Savior. The Solemnity of Jesus Christ, King of the Universe (Year B) - May Thy Kingdom Come!

Read OnlineJesus answered, “My kingdom does not belong to this world. If my kingdom did belong to this world, my attendants would be fighting to keep me from being handed over to the Jews. But as it is, my kingdom is not here.” John 18:36Today, on the final Sunday of our Church year, we celebrate the glorious Solemnity of Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. Next Sunday begins Advent. On this day we profess the profound truth that our Lord is King! He is the King of all things. He is King of the Universe. And He is King of Heaven and all spiritual realities. However, in the Gospel passage quoted above, Jesus responds to Pilate who was questioning Him about whether or not He was the King of the Jews. Jesus is clear that He is a King, but that His Kingdom does not belong to this world. So where is His Kingdom? We can look at Jesus' statement from two points of view. First of all, if Jesus would have claimed that He were an earthly king, one with civil authority, then Pilate would have judged Him to be guilty of trying to overthrow the Roman authority. This would be unlawful and would be punishable by death. In that case, Jesus could have been found legally guilty of violating civil law.But Jesus was purely innocent. He was morally perfect in every way, and that included His obedience to all legitimate civil law. But Jesus was a King. He was The King of all Kings! Therefore, so as to exercise His Kingship, He declared that His Kingdom was not of this world. In other words, it was not a Kingdom that was in competition with the Roman authorities or any other civil authority. To that, Pilate did not know how to respond.Today and always, God desires that His glorious Kingdom reign in every way. God begins by reigning in our souls. He invites us to invite Him to enter in and take control of our lives. He desires to be the ruler of every passion, desire, thought and action that is ours. When this happens, His Kingdom is firmly established within us.It also needs to be pointed out that Jesus wants His Kingdom to grow. First, it must grow in the minds and wills of all people. But from there, He wants every person to then work to conform every part of our society to the governance of Him as King. This means that as the hearts of civil leaders are converted, they will be called to enact laws that fully support and build up God's Kingdom on earth. It means that business leaders, as they convert, are called to govern their businesses in accord with the will of God so that their businesses contribute to the establishment of God's Kingdom here and now. It means that as the leaders of our schools, sports programs, social programs and the like all invite Jesus to reign in their hearts as King, The King of the Universe will then guide them to conform all of their endeavors to His will and to the continued upbuilding of His Kingdom. The first duty of the Christian, in regard to the governance of every aspect of society, is not to impose God's law from without, as a ruthless authoritarian would. Rather, it is to convert minds and hearts so that God's governance comes forth from within. As God's Kingdom is established in the lives of His people, all objectively grave evils embedded within our earthly laws must be overturned. For example, the legalization of abortion stands out as perhaps the greatest of moral evils, since it involves the taking of a completely innocent life. This and countless other immoral earthly laws must be replaced by the laws of God as hearts and minds are converted to His Truth. Reflect, today, upon your duty to help bring forth the Kingdom of God here and now. Start by seeing your duty to allow God's Kingdom to grow within you and your family. From there, be open to the many ways that God wants to use you to help others do the same. As you do, do not be afraid to work toward the external establishment of God's Kingdom in all that you do and in all that falls within your responsibility. Jesus is King, and He desires to reign everywhere. Cooperate with Him, and His Kingdom will indeed come. My glorious King, I choose You as King of my life, and I dedicate to You all my actions and endeavors. Please use me to further Your Kingdom. I pray for wisdom, prudence and courage as I am sent forth by You to help bring forth Your merciful and just reign in the lives of all people and within the entire Universe that You created. May Your Kingdom come and Your will be done! Jesus, I trust in You.Source of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2024 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved. Parsha "Vaetchanan," (Devarim or Deuteronomy 3:23 - 7:11) is, very what might be called the heart of the heart of His Torah, because it includes not only the 'reiteration' of the Ten Debarim (Sayings, Words, or 'commandments') but also what the Messiah Himself called the "greatest commandment" of all. First, he Erev Shabbat reading of some of the most central commandments in the Bible: https://hebrewnationonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/SSM-8-16-24-Vaetchanan-teaching-podcast-x.mp3 In the Sabbath day midrash, Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa makes the case that there is FAR more to the instruction here than many of us have been led to believe. Do even the "Ten Commandments" still apply, now that we have been exiled from the land? OR, does He mean what He says about the commandment to neither "add to," or "subtract from?" It's a 'razor' that is key to understanding how to discern His Truth from the "lies we have inherited from our fathers." And a 'church' that, all too often, attempts to turn his very Word 'upside down.' The deception He warned us about is here. But we can 'see that your are not deceived.' In Luke 1:36-38, the angel Gabriel ended his message by giving Mary a word of encouragement. He told Mary that her aged relative Elizabeth was with child, proving that "with God nothing shall be impossible." God gave a similar word to Abraham when He announced the birth of Isaac (Genesis 18:14). That our God can do anything is the witness of many, including Job (Job 42:2), Jeremiah (Jer. 32:17), and even our Lord Jesus (Matt. 19:26).   Mary's believing response was to surrender herself to God as His willing servant. She experienced the grace of God (Luke 1:30) and believed the Word of God, and therefore she could be used by the Spirit to accomplish the will of God. A "handmaid" was the lowest kind of female servant, which shows how much Mary trusted God. She belonged totally to the Lord, body (Luke 1:38), soul (Luke 1:46), and spirit (Luke 1:47). What an example for us to follow! (Romans 12:1-2)   Now in Luke 1:39-56, we find that “Joy” is the major theme of this section as we see three persons rejoicing in the Lord. Now that Mary knew she was to become a mother, and that her kinswoman Elizabeth would give birth in three months, she wanted to see Elizabeth so they could rejoice together.   First, we see the joy of Elizabeth (vv. 39-45). As Mary entered the house, Elizabeth heard her greeting, was filled with the Spirit, and was told by the Lord why Mary was there. The one word that filled her lips was "blessed." Note that she did not say that Mary was blessed above women but among women, and certainly this is true. While we don't want to ascribe to Mary that which only belongs to God, neither do we want to minimize her place in the plan of God.   The thing that Elizabeth emphasized was Mary's faith: "Blessed is she that believed" (Luke 1:45). We are saved "by grace ... through faith" (Eph. 2:8-9). Because Mary believed the Word of God, she experienced the power of God.   Today we live in a world where we are being overwhelmed with information, most of which is very discouraging. On top of that, we are being broken apart by our own personal problems in our families, our workplaces, our finances, and our relationships. We need a major input of “Good News”! Like Mary we need to be assured that we have a God that gives us wonderful promises and then has the power to keep them.   I want to recommend a small devotional book by Charles Spurgeon called “Faith's Checkbook”. Charles H. Spurgeon supplies daily deposits of God's promises into the reader's personal bank of faith. He urges the reader to view each Bible promise as a check written by God, which can be cashed by personally endorsing it and receiving the gift it represents! He reminds us of 365 promises God made to us that He will fulfill if we only by faith believer!   My friend, happiness is based on present circumstances or “happenings” in our lives. Genuine joy is based on an awareness of the presence of the Lord through the working of the Holy Spirit applying God's Word and His Truth in our minds and hearts.   These verses assure us that we can have the same joy Jesus had! John 15:11, “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.” John 16:24, “Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” John 17:13, “But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves.”   God bless!

Have you tried manifesting? Do you have a vision board in place? Have things worked out the way you have wanted them to? Or do you feel like not matter what you manifest, it doesnt matter.  If you don't believe in manifesting, do you feel like you are stuck in certain thought patterns? Do you think you are just wired a certain way and you cannot change how you think or feel about things?  Scriputre tells us that the Holy Spirit's power gives us the power to renew our minds and change our attitudes. Let me clarify that this isn't OUR power, like New Age manifesting tells us, but that is via the power of the Holy Spirit that enable us to change our minds.  Everything is rooted in Truth. And the truth is, if we stay stuck in a negative mindset, our circumstances and thoughts will stay that way. But we can renew our mind and focus on what is good and His Truth, getting us unstuck and able to move forward with a new attitude to do His will. It doen't mean everything will be perfect and that our dream board goals will for sure be filled.... but it does mean a spirit filled mindset, that will turn into Truth focused thoughts, that will turn into our Truth filled words, and that will turn into out Truth filled actions.  I pray this episode blesses you, please come hang out with us in our private community on Facebook -Making Money With God- for fellowship, encouragement, and accountability. Read Online“When they hand you over, do not worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say. You will be given at that moment what you are to say. For it will not be you who speak but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.” Matthew 10:19–20This is an easy lesson to understand but very hard to live. This teaching of Jesus comes within the context of Him telling His Apostles that as they go forth to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom, they will be handed over to courts, scourged in synagogues, and led before governors and kings. They will be persecuted in one town after another for sharing the Gospel. Though such a “pep-talk” may not at first seem that encouraging, the Gospel passage quoted above should provide much encouragement. Encouragement, that is, if they can follow Jesus' advice in faith. When we are condemned, judged, misunderstood and the like, it is very common to begin mounting our defense within our minds right away. We justify our actions, set up a tribunal in our minds by which we act as judge and jury of the other, finding them guilty and issuing them punishments. The sin traditionally referred to as “self-love” is a sin that stems from pride and is not love at all. It tempts us to defend ourselves, using our own human wisdom and counsel. If we carefully consider Jesus' teaching above, most people will realize that it is a very hard teaching to embrace. Essentially, when you are condemned or mistreated by another, remain silent in your heart. Do not immediately dwell on the wound they have inflicted. Do not become obsessed with the apparent injustice. Do not worry or become filled with anxiety at the perceived persecution. Instead, turn your eyes to Jesus, consider only His Voice and His Truth. And instead of looking at the wound that was inflicted upon you, look at the person inflicting it. And look at them with love. They are not the enemy, they are the battleground for Truth, and it is your mission to help them hear God's truth. So how do you do that? Jesus' answer is straightforward. “You will be given at that moment what you are to say.” Furthermore, Jesus makes it clear that it must be the “Spirit of your Father” who is to speak through you in such a case.Living such a teaching especially requires two things: humility and trust. Humility will allow the temptation to self-love (pride) to be set aside. This is essential if you are to hear the Voice of God speaking to you and, ultimately, allow Him to speak through you. Second, it is essential that you trust that what Jesus says is true. You must trust that, if you are humble and open to His Voice, that He will give you His words when He wants them spoken. This is difficult, because we often want to say far more than God chooses to say. God often calls us to silence in the face of injustice. A silence that is also imbued with love for the persecutor. This requires much trust in the grace of God, which results in an abundance of charity on your part.Reflect, today, upon this teaching of our Lord. Consider how you react when someone condemns or judges you. How do you respond to such persecutions? Begin with silence, turn your eyes to the other out of love for them, and then listen and wait on the Lord. Wait until He gives you the words to say. Doing so is not only good for the persecutor, it is also exceptionally good for your own soul and holiness of life.My patient Lord, You, Who are the Savior of the World and the God of all, allowed Yourself to be falsely accused, judged and condemned. During it all, You remained silent and spoke only when the Father spoke through You. Help me to be freed of all pride, dear Lord, so that I will speak only Your holy words, think only the thoughts inspired by You and act only on Your holy command of love. Jesus, I trust in You.Source of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2024 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved. Some Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Jesus and put this question to him, saying, “Teacher, Moses wrote for us, ‘If someone's brother dies, leaving a wife but no child, his brother must take the wife and raise up descendants for his brother.' Now there were seven brothers…” Mark 12:18–20And these Sadducees then go on to present to Jesus a long and unlikely hypothetical scenario in which this woman eventually married all seven brothers after each one died. And at the conclusion of their hypothetical situation, the Sadducees ask Jesus, “At the resurrection when they arise whose wife will she be?” Of course, Jesus offers them the correct answer and then also states something interesting. He tells the Sadducees that they “are greatly misled.” Just prior to this conversation with the Sadducees, the Pharisees had presented their own question to Jesus in an attempt to trap Him. The difference seems to be that the Sadducees had more sincerity in their pursuit of the truth whereas the Pharisees were more obsessed with their own authority and power. The Sadducees were considered the more traditional of the religious leaders, in that they accepted only the Torah, the first five books of the Old Testament, as authentically revealed. They also did not accept the afterlife or the resurrection of the dead because they believed that the Torah did not explicitly teach those things. The Pharisees not only accepted the Torah but also the rest of what is contained in the Old Testament. The Pharisees also accepted what was referred to as the “tradition of the elders,” which meant that they paid much attention to the scrupulous multiplication of laws and regulations that other Pharisees devised, and they sought to impose those man-made laws upon the people. In this Gospel passage, the problem with the Sadducees seems to be scrupulosity and rigidity in their approach to the faith. They clearly relied upon human reason, and they applied their human reason to the Torah. And though human reason and logical deduction are helpful and necessary in life, they attempted to solve every matter of faith by their own effort by narrowly and rigidly interpreting the Torah. They did not allow themselves to be open to the deeper wisdom of God that floods one's human reason when one is attentive to divine inspiration and revelation. Instead, they were black and white in all of their deductions and practices. This rigidity left them “greatly misled.”In our own lives, we can also become greatly misled when we use the gift of our human reason in a rigid and narrow way. We must never overly simplify the faith, and we must never think that we will easily be able to arrive at all the answers by our own effort. Our constant goal must be to allow our minds to become fully immersed in the deepest wisdom of God and all that He has revealed. The teachings of the Church will guide us, keeping us on the straight path, but it will be the voice of God, speaking to our minds in a real and personal way, that will help us to understand the depth and breadth of God's Will, His Truth, and Wisdom. Reflect, today, upon any tendency you have to be like these Sadducees. Are you rigid? Or narrow minded? Do you allow yourself to be misled into thinking you have all the answers? If so, seek humility. Humble yourself before the awesome mysteries of Heaven. Use your mind to probe the truths that God has revealed and be ready to be drawn deeper and deeper into the life of God Himself. My Lord of infinite wisdom, You are Truth Itself, and You continually reveal Yourself to us. Give me the humility I need to always be open to all divine Truth in my life so that I will come to know You and Your holy will as You desire. Jesus, I trust in You.Source of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2024 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved. #558: Battle Between Good & Evil

The battle between good and evil exists around us every day, we just need to be willing to recognize it. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the reality of good and evil and its impact on us. We find many examples of “good” in the Bible including miracles, stories of God's grace and deliverance, and the blessings that come to people who choose to follow God. We also find many examples of evil and the devastation it brings. Evil is the work of Satan, who intends to kill and destroy God's people. It's time to decide: Will we will follow God and His principles, inviting good into our lives; or will we choose to pursue evil by dismissing God and His Truth? There are tens of thousands of bridges all over the world. We cross them to get over to the other side. We often take them for granted and sometimes we marvel at them. The Great Commission of our Lord Jesus to take His Gospel into all the world is meant for everyone, without exception. But most believers hardly know where to start and how to effectively communicate His Truth with the lost. We can do so by building bridges to take the seeker across the abyss and into His light. It’s a whole lot easier than we think. And there are a myriad of ways to do so. In this session we will learn how to establish a bridge in order to help expand our Lord’s Kingdom here and on earth. Session recorded on Friday, November 10th during Session Block #3 at 1:00 PM EST ; speaker: Rabi Maharaj Session webpage: https://www.medicalmissions.com/events/gmhc-2023/sessions/bridge-building-for-christs-kingdom-expanded

“I have told you this while I am with you. Jesus, I trust in You.Source of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2024 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved. “Hear, O Israel! Regardless of how you understand the various parts of your being, the key is that every part must love God in fullness. Reflect, today, upon the beautiful commandment of our Lord. It's a command of love, and it is given to us not so much for God's sake but for ours. God wants to fill us to the point of overflowing love. Why would we ever choose anything less? My loving Lord, Your love for me is infinite and perfect in every way. I pray that I will learn to love You with every fiber of my being, holding nothing back, and to daily grow deeper in my love of You. As I grow in that love, I thank You for the overflowing nature of that love, and I pray that this love of You will flow into the hearts of those around me. Jesus, I trust in You. “God, I just want to go and watch my TV programs and not deal with this right now”   I wanted to just tuck my head under a blanket, but I felt Jesus prompting me to come and talk with Him.   With every ounce of willpower, I extended my hand and said, “OK Lord, let's see what's happening”      He gently led me through   1. Remembering that He loves me and only points out growth opportunities because of that love 2. It hurts me (and Him), when I'm believing the enemy's lies and staying stuck because of it 3. There is SO much more to life when I walk it out with Him   So I said “yes” and He helped me to see a lie that I was believing that has kept me small for a long time – and how to swap it for His Truth instead.    And the beauty of this is that He wants to do the same for you too!   you get to learn to hear His voice calling you to the magnificent things He has for your life. And just like Paul said in Heb 12:1-3,  you get to throw off the things that hinder and run your race!   So watch or listen to today's episode and see how to say “yes” to the invitation to swapping lies for Truth can change your everyday life with Jesus.   So, as always,

You know when you read a verse in the Bible and suddenly you KNOW that it's talking about you? Right?! Well, this was one of those times for me. I know that when God does that He is actually trying to get me to see something that He wants to help me with. I just get to say “yes” (no matter how uncomfortable it seems to confront the issue He's highlighting)   So I came to Him and said, “Lord, please help me to see what's really going on underneath this habitual behaviour, and let me know what I get to do about it”   As He always does, He walked me through what was really going on, and showed me how His Truth could help me to get free of the way this thing has plagued me for way too long!   It was beautiful and hope-filled and help-full too.   So as you listen to or watch today's episode know that when God highlights something that's going on in you, it's because He wants to see you set free from that thing – once and for all.   So As Always,
