Because we are in Christ we don't have to sin. We are liberated from our allegiance to sin and liberated to follow God. We should be motivated to obey God, but that when we don't, Jesus pleads for us.

We can rest because God's redeeming love has given us mercy and hope.
God's redeeming love brings us mercy, and through the mercy He extends to us we are able to show others mercy.
