Christ is the true light that has been rejected by some, but received by others, and those who have received Him have been adopted into God's family, made children of God by grace. 

Heaven's standard for “greatness” is much different than earth's. In this world, the rich, the famous, the popular, the knowledgeable, the influential, the successful are often the ones labeled “the great.” Although these attributes do not disqualify anyone from becoming part of God's family, they are definitely not the dominant traits He looks for.
