What does it really mean to be adopted by God? In this message from the Made New series, we explore one of the most powerful identity truths in Scripture: if you are in Christ, you are a child of God. Adoption doesn't just change your present identity — it secures your eternal future. Through John 1, Romans 8, and Ephesians 1, this sermon shows how God gives us a new position, a new relationship, and a new identity in His family. Whether your experience with fatherhood brings warmth or pain, this message points to the perfect love of a heavenly Father who chose you, welcomes you, and calls you His own.New to Friends Church? Pastor Ryne continues our teaching series, Breakthrough.
How much time and effort do you spend focusing on that which passes away versus that which endures? Dr. Tom Curran explores the four steps for spiritual transformation: disruption, desire, desperation and dynamism. Tom references insights written in his upcoming book, titled: No Half Measures.
Big Idea: The word of the Lord will continue to increase and triumph. 1. The word completes the gospel for the confused (1–7) 2. The word spreads through persistent teaching (8–10) 3. The word shames counterfeits and honors Jesus (11–17) 4. The word reforms lives through costly repentance (18–19) Discussion Questions: 1. What does Paul's first question (v.2) reveal about how we should approach “disciples” today? 2. How would you explain the difference between John's baptism and being baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus? 3. In vv.8–10, what stands out about Paul's strategy? What does that suggest about how the Word normally “spreads”? 4. What's the main warning from the sons of Sceva episode and what does it look like to rely on the Spirit rather than a “formula”? 5. In vv.18–20, what does “costly repentance” look like? Is there something costly that you are holding on to that you need to let go?
In this sermon, Pastor Aaron outlines what God's will is and how it fits into God making us new people. Turn to Romans 12 to learn!

Baptism is more than a tradition…it's a response to grace and a testimony of renewal! From the roots of Jewish purification to the life-changing moments we see in Scripture, this message explores why baptism matters, why it's personal, and why it's meant to be public. Whether it's your first step of obedience or a moment of renewed surrender, baptism becomes a declaration that God is still restoring hearts and making lives new…and sometimes making them new again.
THE MARKS OF A MAN MADE NEW (Acts 9:17-22) When we make Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, we become a new creation. We are made new. A great preacher once said, “Nature forms us. Sin deforms us. School informs us. Prison reforms us. But, only Christ transforms us.” In Christ, we become new. A Christian is not just somebody who has become nice; he has become new. He doesn't just turn over a new leaf; he receives a new life. A Christian is not like a tadpole that has become a frog, which has gone through a series of changes, but basically, it is the same creature. No, a Christian is more like a frog that has received the kiss of grace and has become a prince. That is what we are. We are changed radically and dramatically. We are a new creature. When Saul of Tarsus met the Lord Jesus on that road to Damascus, Saul asked the two greatest questions that anybody in this world could ever ask: “Who art thou, Lord?” and “Lord, what [would you] have me to do?” Somebody has said that the Apostle Paul spent the rest of his life finding the answer to those two questions: “Who art thou, Lord?” and “Lord, what [would you] have me to do?” They truly are wonderful questions! I would to God that everyone in the whole wide world would sincerely ask those questions: Who is Jesus, and what does Jesus want me to do? As you study the Bible, you will see that the Bible doesn't put the emphasis upon receiving Christ as Savior. The Bible puts the emphasis upon making Jesus Lord. And, when you make Jesus Christ Lord, He is, therefore, your Savior. Now, I'm not saying that He doesn't save. Indeed, He does save. But, while the Bible mentions Him as Savior 24 times, it mentions Him as Lord 433 times. When they spoke of the Lord Jesus, they called Him “the Lord Jesus.” Nobody is saved, who has not made Jesus Lord. Listen, you cannot have what He gives—salvation—unless you receive what He is—and that is Lord. Click on the link below to hear a message on the marks of a man made new in Christ. This is a live recording of The Master's Class Bible Study at LifeChange Church Wichita, KS. Amen.
Genesis 1:1 says God is responsible for creating everything, including me and you. What does “creation” actually entail? Does God still create today? In this morning's message, pastor Dan explains why God's greatest work is not making new things, but making things new. -- GIVE: Visit www.connectcalgary.ca/give to help share #LifeOverflowing across Canada.
