In this discussion with the JOYLAND Community, we explore what biblical joy truly is — and what it is not. Joy is not cheerfulness, hype, or pretending everything is okay. Scripture reveals that joy flows from God’s nearness. At the birth of Jesus, heaven announced “good news of great joy,” because God had drawn near to humanity in a whole new way. Even before Jesus was born, joy leapt in Elizabeth’s womb, and when the Magi saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. These moments show us that joy is the natural response to the presence of God. We also uncover a deeper truth from Hebrews 12:2 — that we are the joy set before Jesus, the reason He came. This episode reframes joy as God’s delight in us, a strength that remains even in sorrow, and the quiet confidence of knowing that we are not alone. Such a mystery, indeed! That God can and does live within us, His Spirit speaking with ours, guiding us, empowering us, protecting us and loving us. Where can we go and not see You, God? Where can we hide and not find you already there?! Such love we have yet to know – it is greater than anything we have experienced and yet – it is ours; it is God himself wanting to be a part of our everyday. Look for Him, within as you see Him in your outer world.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. A new MP3 sermon from Grace Bible Church is now available on SermonAudio with the following details: Title: Faith is the Work of God in Us Subtitle: No Man Can Come to Christ! Speaker: John Pittman Hey Broadcaster: Grace Bible Church Event: Sunday Service Date: 9/28/2025 Bible: John 6:22-71; Romans 10:1-4 Length: 34 min.
The sermon emphasizes the transformative power of love, particularly within the Christian community, as a reflection of God's perfect love demonstrated through Jesus Christ. Drawing on 1 John 4, the message asserts that true love is Christ-like and made perfect through actions of faithfulness and commitment, contrasting superficial expressions of affection with genuine, enduring loyalty. The speaker uses relatable illustrations, including a dollar bill analogy and stories of individuals seeking spiritual nourishment, to underscore the importance of actively receiving and embodying God's love, ultimately encouraging listeners to embrace Christ as Savior and to engage in discipleship through studying the Bible and participating in the local church.
The sermon emphasizes the necessity of relying on grace through faith in Jesus Christ for salvation, rather than attempting to earn it through works, drawing parallels to the selection of a valuable player in baseball. It warns of the consequences of rejecting Christ, including judgment and eternal punishment in hell, while highlighting the importance of confessing Jesus as the Son of God and believing in his sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins and restoration to fellowship with God. Ultimately, the message underscores God's enduring love as the motivation for offering salvation and encourages listeners to embrace Christ as their Lord and Savior.
The sermon explores the profound grace of God and the certainty of judgment based on His Word, emphasizing the vital role of the Holy Spirit in the believer's life. It asserts that while believers will face the revelation of past imperfections at the judgment seat of Christ, God's forgiveness and the indwelling Spirit offer assurance and guidance. Drawing from passages in 1 John and Romans, the message underscores the importance of submitting to the Spirit through Scripture, recognizing Jesus as Savior, and understanding that eternal life is a gift received through faith, not earned through works, ultimately offering hope and peace through God's grace.
The sermon explores the profound reality of God's indwelling presence in believers, emphasizing that the Holy Spirit, part of the Trinity, resides within those who receive Jesus Christ as Savior. Drawing from 1 John 4, the message asserts that this divine presence allows for a deeply personal connection with God, transforming the believer's body into a temple and enabling participation in His ministry. The speaker encourages introspection regarding one's thoughts, words, and intentions, reminding listeners that God witnesses all and ultimately offers grace and forgiveness, urging them to support both their local church and Christian radio ministries that faithfully proclaim the Word.
In John 6, Christ describes in various ways, some of the work that God must do in poor lost people in order for them to trust in Jesus. This teaching is in the context of the people refusing to believe in Jesus, even though they saw and partook of an astounding miracle, the feeding of the five thousand. As we have considered before, physical miracles are not sufficient to bring a person to trust Gospel promises. Instead, we must have the miraculous work in us of the Holy Ghost, to change our hearts, and to give us the faith to believe in Christ's Gospel. The people asked Christ, what additional works of God must we do to obtain eternal life? As usual, the Jewish people were seeking to obtain their own righteousness by their keeping of the law. Christ turned their question around by His answer -- the work of God is that you believe on His Christ. Some theologians argue that the work being done is not that of the lost sinners, but rather by God Himself. In other words, it is God's Work in us, that we believe the Gospel! Faith is surely an act by us, but only because God works that faith in us toward Christ. No work of or by us can bring us unto Christ. The context in John 6 supports this interpretation, because Christ teaches us that men cannot believe unless God works in them, to cause them to believe. As Christ noted, though many of them had seen Him, yet they did not believe on Him. That is because only those whom God the Father gives to His Son will come to Christ, and everyone given to the Son will come to Him. Thus, no man can believe the Gospel unless God has first given that man to Christ, and every such man given to Christ will certainly believe in Him.

Are we willing to respond positively to the call of God?
When God makes His home in us, He gets busy immediately. He becomes to us wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. And He begins to train us to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives that honor Him.
God in us means that He lives His miraculous life in and through us - our circumstances, our choices, and our personalities. His abundant life is more than sufficient for every situation we will ever face.

God making His home in us forges a deep, spiritual union that goes beyond the idea of God with us. It's a shared existence where we can experience our unity with Christ through the daily reality of His presence in us.

*Listen to the Show notes and podcast transcript with this multi-language player. INTRODUCTION:Christ came to earth to reveal the Father. When He taught us to pray, He started out with “our Father,” revealing the point that God is our Father also. (Matthew 6:9) But He also expressed that the Father directs our attention to Jesus, whom He sent. (John 6:29) Christ is showing that their relationship was a two-way street. When Jesus was baptized, the Holy Spirit descended upon Him and the Father's voice proclaimed, “You are My beloved Son, in you I am well-pleased.” (Luke 3:22) Thus, we have the third being of God—the Holy Spirit. When Christ sent the Holy Spirit to those gathered during Pentecost, once again He was opening the door for us to know another aspect of God who is available to us. (Acts 2:4)SHOW NOTES: Jesus Christ must be real to us by revelation. The Words which Christ spoke were not words from man, but they came from the Father. When we seek the wisdom of the Father, He reveals His kind intention toward us. Whether we pray to Christ, or our Father, or we ask of the Holy Spirit to lead and teach, we can have the Truth revealed to us. The Spirit writes the Word of God on human hearts. He makes known the mystery of His will as we earnestly seek Him.QUOTATIONS: Jesus said to Peter, “Flesh and blood did not reveal that to you. That was a revelation from My Father.” He who has the Son has the Father, and he who does not have the Son, does not have the Father. No one knows the Father except the Son, and whomever the Son wills to reveal Him, and no one knows the Son except the Father. It is a back and forth relationship, so precious and so deep that it has to live for us. If you started out walking in Christ's footsteps and you continue in those footsteps, each step we take in His footsteps brings us closer to the Father. We're following after the pattern of the Son of God, the firstborn Son. We're learning to become sons, and as sons, we should be reflecting and painting this beautiful picture of the Son, Christ Jesus. The Father and Christ work together in a oneness that brings all these wonderful things that the Scriptures reveal to us. Whether you're speaking to the Holy Spirit, the Lord Jesus Christ, or the Heavenly Father, It's all the triune nature of God.REFERENCES:Matthew 16:15-17 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal...

The lesson we're to draw from today's passage is that it's not only opposition from the outside that threatens the work of God, but it's also the disunity and the conflict amongst the people from the inside that can jeopardize the work of God. What good is the strength of the wall and its effectiveness in withstanding external attack, if the people themselves whom the wall exists to protect are weak and they destroy themselves? It's no good at all, it serves no purpose if there is no people to protect. However, if the people inside those walls are strong, together, and unified the wall serves a great purpose. In the same way, if Mosaic desires to be a church who protects its people both spiritually and physically, we who make up this church must be strong, together, and unified. And according to Nehemiah 5, the way we become this kind of people is by restoring the fear of the Lord in our hearts.

Many of us come from a church background where our walk with God felt less like a like a relationship and more like a list of dos and don'ts. But if you read the actual words of Jesus, you get a much different impression. Francis Chan takes us to John chapter 15 and helps us see how a life of joyful obedience to God is a natural response to His overwhelming love.
Is there more than a Sunday-to-Sunday relationship with Jesus? Looking at Colossians 1:24-29, Drew Worsham shows us that Jesus desires to move you from a shallow relationship to deeper waters by shifting our perspective from 'God with you' to 'God in you'. This truth changes everything.

The Tabernacle consists of many pieces, the Tent of Meeting is one of the largest. This tent holds some great parallels for the lives of believers, and reminds us of how physical things can teach us spiritual lessons.
