Hey guys! Today I wanted to encourage you by saying you are not an orphan! God has given you a real, true family and that is the body of Christ. When you are going through challenging seasons, lean on them and ask for council and wisdom; God has given them different gifts for the building up of the church and that includes YOU. No matter what your blood family might say, follow the instruction of the Holy Spirit and the confirmation given to you through other brothers and sisters in Christ. May God bless you and keep you in all your decision making! Here are the Bible verses I mention throughout! Unless specifically mentioned, the verses aren't based on one single Bible Translation. Hi guys! Today I wanted to encourage you and say you're exactly where you're supposed to be! Not behind, not ahead and that there is NO RUSH in where you're going. Things take time and that's okay! There is a season for everything. "When YAHWEH delights in how you live your life, he establishes your every step. If you stumble badly you will still survive, for the Lord lifts you up with His hands." Psalms 37:23-24 Jesus never rushed anywhere even though He had so much he needed to do. Hey everyone! Today we're doing a bible study of Luke 15:11-32. We talk about who the prodigal son is, learn of the father's love for him (and really God's love for us), and why the other brother reacted the way that he did. This is a story of how it's not about works to earn our approval from God and how our identity is in being a son and daughter of our Heavenly Father! Is there a brother that you feel like you resonate with the most? I encourage you to ask Holy Spirit to reveal that answer to you and why that is. Hi everyone! Today we talk about what the Bible says about marriage, what it represents and why marriage is a good thing. Biblical marriage is a covenant between a man and a woman and one of the blessings that come from it is being fruitful and multiplying and having dominion over the earth! Don't believe the world's statistics about marriage success rates. Believe in God's marriage success rate, which is 100%! I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. Hey guys! Today, I talk about what prosperity in the Bible looks like and what kingdom wealth means! A huge lie that I unknowingly believed was that God wanted me to be poor so I could rely on Him more. BUT that is not how God looks at prosperity in the Bible! Prosperity in Hebrew means completeness, soundness, welfare, peace, safety, health, contentment, friendship with God in covenant relationship. And since that's how God looked at prosperity in the Old Testament, that's how He looks at it in the New Testament! He's a never changing God who is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow! Biblical prosperity and wealth is seeking first the Kingdom of Heaven and God's righteousness and then using what God has given you to bless others and bring them into the Kingdom! God has given each of us gifts, talents and wealth and He expects us to do GOOD with it. Wealth is ultimately not a bad thing. You just need to ask yourself where is your treasure? Because where your treasure is, your heart will be also. So is your treasure on the things of God? Here are the Bible verses I use throughout the video! I pray that you take what you've learned and go to the Holy Spirit and ask Him to give you wisdom on what biblical prosperity looks like, in heaven and on earth. Put aside every judgement and just ask Him! 1 Samuel 13:14 2 Samuel 5:11 1 Kings 3:1-15 1 Kings 10 2 Chronicles 9:13-29 Ephesians 3:20-21 1 Kings 6 Matthew 6:33 Matthew 5:3 Jeremiah 29:11 John 10:10 Matthew 25:14-30 Be blessed! Hi everyone! My name is Jamie and my goal on this channel is to help you develop your intimacy with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Today, we go through Matthew 6:25-34 and I share what God has taught me about the passage. One of my favorite verses in the Bible comes from Matthew 6:33 where it says "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." NKJV. I share what the verse means to me and what it practically looks like in my life! I invite you all to meditate on this passage and to ask the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom, revelation and understanding regarding this passage. Hey guys! Today I share about what God's voice sounds like, where His voice comes from, how to hear God's voice and the lies we may be believing in that prevent us from hearing God's voice. You, as a son or daughter of the most high God, hear His voice and that is the truth! John 10:8-10 and John 10:27-28 make that clear. Any other statement is not true! Hi everyone! Today, we read through Matthew 11:28-30. 28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened [by religious rituals that provide no peace], and I will give you rest [refreshing your souls with salvation]. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me [following Me as My disciple], for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest (renewal, blessed quiet) for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy [to bear] and My burden is light.” I share what each of the verses mean and how we can practically find rest in Jesus. I hope this helps you in your faith walk with God! And here are the verses I reference throughout the video! Hey friends! Today, I want to talk about why it's important for Christians to meet together and how it impacts our faith walk! I know some of you might not be used to getting plugged into a local church or even a small group, but I challenge you to pray about it earnestly and seek God's face regarding what He wants you to do. Going to church online has become easily accessible but that doesn't mean that your relationship with God should stop there. I know it's uncomfortable to be seen and see others on a consistent basis but we all need it in order to grow properly in our faith walk. As always, I hope this video encourages you and builds you up! Please let me know if you have any questions in the comments section down below! These are the Bible verses that I mention in the video! how do I pray? Today God wanted me to share some things on how to pray and the things I keep in mind when I do pray to God! What are spiritual gifts? How do I use them? Do spiritual gifts still exist? Today I talk about bible verses that talk about spiritual gifts and its function in the church! I believe that spiritual gifts definitely exist today, because that's what the bible says and I've experienced them in my own life! God wants to equip you to use your spiritual gifts. Having a relationship with them helps me make hard decisions in life, gives me peace throughout hard times and allows me to pursue my big dreams in life! If you're wondering what the purpose of life is or are wanting to grow closer to God, then you've come to the right place. Wow God is good. This may be the smoothest video I've made without any planning haha. The more you risk and trust, the more room you give God to show up! Love, Jamie
Have you ever felt so tired and weary and you don't even know why? It's because the world is constantly telling us to strive and not be. And all of that pressure builds up internally in our soul. Today I talk about how to actually rest from all the chaos and striving that's so prevalent in our society! I believe the answer is getting to know Jesus and spending time with the One who loves us and cares for us and heals us from our trauma. We don't have to try to be or strive to be. We just are. We are loved, precious, valuable. And when we know that as part of our identity, we can be at rest. I love you guys and God bless :)

Hey everyone! I hope you're having a lovely day. This week I felt like God wanted me to talk about forgiveness and what the bible says about it. So let's start off the new year with the important topic of forgiveness. Important things to note: A huge misconception is that forgiving someone is forgetting what they did and pretending nothing happened without processing it. It's not that at all. Even with forgiveness, you can still remember the incident and still have a heart of love towards that person. Forgiveness is also not saying that what the other person did was okay or that they have the right to keep hurting you. Another misconception is that just because you forgive someone, they can access your heart again. Meaning you have to share your life with them in a very meaningful and vulnerable way. But that's not true because there is a difference between trusting someone and loving someone. You can love without trusting them as you would a super close friend. You also don't need the other person to apologize or be present for you to forgive them. Forgiveness happens in the heart and you can forgive from anywhere. And a lot of the times, people won't apologize for the hurt they've done to you but you still need to forgive them. Forgiveness is letting go of the anger, resentment and bitterness towards people who have hurt you. Sometimes I find myself comparing how I look to how other people look and it's one of those thoughts that just pop up here and there but this week I realized that I do that a lot. I would always think "yeah I'm cute but I'm not beautiful" or "I look good when I have make-up on" or "why I can't I look like so-and-so?" And there's this part of me that wishes I had someone else's face because they're prettier. And I usually dismiss these thoughts as normal but the Lord has been telling me that they're not. They're not in line with His truth and therefore are lies from the enemy. Dear Younger Me, the advice that I would give you is your beauty comes from your value and your value comes from God deciding you are valuable. You are not valuable because you're beautiful. But rather it's the other way around. Hey everyone! My name is Jamie and welcome to Dear Younger Me. This podcast is dedicated to giving advice to my younger self in hopes that it'll also help other people who might be going through similar things. Anxiety can also show up in the form of controlling things, needing things to be a certain way. Otherwise there'll be havoc in the world. It can also show up physically. Your heartbeat rises. You feel like you're holding your breath. Your muscles tense up. Your brain is full of what-if scenarios. You're always preparing for the worse. You have 5 different back-up plans for each decision in your life. And you might even find yourself obsessively eating or cleaning. In our culture nowadays, we've accepted anxiety as a normal part of our lives when really it is a flight or fight response and we're not meant to be anxious all the time. Dear Younger Me, don't let anxiety rule your life. It is not from God and there is a way we can be free from it. What to do when you're fearful and anxious: 1. Ask Holy Spirit to give you peace because it is a fruit of the Spirit and to walk in step with the Spirit so that your desires to control everything will be released. If you do one, you cannot do the other. 2. Understand who God is and His characteristics. He is good, knows everything, has good plans for you and is with you all the time. 3. Work through trauma with the Holy Spirit. There might be traumatic experiences in your life that impact the way you function. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you what is causing you your anxiety? What are the fears that are holding you back? 4. Speak God's truth over your life. There's a reason that the Word is our weapon. It's the sword of the spirit that can cut through lies. There's power in speaking bible verses 5. Do a social media fast. All of these social media platforms are designed to make you compare yourself to others and make you vie for what you don't have. Don't use social media to replace real human interactions and create a digital world where you live in. You are going to be disappointed with the real life you're living. Hey everyone! My name is Jamie and welcome to Dear Younger Me. This podcast is dedicated to giving advice to my younger self in hopes that it'll also help other people who might be going through similar things. Growing up I didn't really understand who God was. My relationship with him never felt personal to me. When I prayed, it felt like I was talking to a blank wall. I'd never hear anything back. I wasn't sure if God was even listening. It just felt like He was some man in the sky. My earthly father also passed away when I was 2 so I didn't even know what growing up with a dad did feel like. And I think that probably made God the father feel even more absent in my life. A year ago, I started writing out different attributes to God the father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit because I felt like God wanted me to know the different roles they all had. The concept of three persons in one is also known as the Holy Trinity. Today, I'm going to talk about who each of those distinct persons are and their different attributes. Dear Younger Me, the advice I'd give you is to dig deeper into understanding who God the Father is, God the Son is, and God the Holy Spirit is because only then will you understand your relationship with each one of them. God was reminding me this week to keep praying for my family, even though it's been 4 years since I was truly saved. And some of you out there might be wondering the same thing. Is God going to save my mom and dad and the rest of my family? Their hearts seem so hardened and unchanging. How long must I pray before you save them, God? Dear Younger Me, it's not easy being the only Christian in your family. But it's a privilege to be able to pray for them. And God loves them and wants them to be saved even more than you do. So the advice I would you is to keep praying for them because God hears your prayers. Hey everyone! My name is Jamie and welcome to Dear Younger Me. I just hope that this podcast can be me being an older sister giving helpful advice to all the young people (and maybe even older people) out there. I don't want us to fall into a trap of setting unreal expectations for ourselves, not reaching those expectations, feeling like a failure and then giving up on our goals a couple weeks down the road. So instead of making an episode on how to set goals for the new year, I think it would be more helpful for my younger self to hold these key bible verses to heart. That way, no matter what 2021 looks like, there's a firm foundation for my beliefs and values, which will in turn cause me to speak, act and set goals in a way that reflects those beliefs. #godsword #godswordistruth#godslove#jesuschrist#jesusisking #christianpodcast#christianadvice #church#christian #realtalk#dearyoungerme #godlovesyou

Today we talk about the experiences of a black woman living and working in the United States. We’re not here to argue for or against defunding the police. But rather, we’re here to break down any erroneous sweeping generalizations of what BLM is or is not by going back to where BLM started in the first place: the individual experiences of black people in the US.
Here what my roommate Kayla has to say about the Christian sub-culture. Dear Younger Me is a podcast talking about the advice that I wish I could've given my younger self. I wish when I was going through elementary school, the awkward years of middle school and the transformative ones of college, that I had an older mentor who could teach me so many things and help me avoid pain. But since I never got that, I hope that this podcast can be me being that older sister giving helpful advice to all the young people (and maybe even older people) out there. In these episodes, I will be talking about everything ranging from how to not be shy in elementary school, how to take better care of my body physically and mentally in high school, all the way to how to build genuine friendships with people.
