Guest speaker Megan Fate Marshman joins Pastor Chad to talk about what it really means to trust God. Even when we hear God, we often think we walk alone, but we don't need to. God promises to be there, no matter where we are or what we're going through. We grow through our pain when we open our lives to trust Him. He prepares us for the future and leads us through the trials we don't see coming. God uses the good and the bad, and in it all, our greatest strength is when we call out to Him. In this episode Dr. Karlfeldt interviews Dr Eric Schoen about. The conversation begins with Dr. Karlfeldt highlighting the challenging situation many cancer patients face when their oncologists advise against using complementary therapies alongside conventional treatments. Dr. Schoen discusses the importance of patients having informed conversations with both their oncologists and integrative providers, noting that 35-44% of cancer patients incorporate integrative therapies, sometimes without their oncologist's knowledge. Dr. Schoen emphasizes that patients should work with specialists who understand the complexities of integrative cancer care rather than navigating treatment alone. He shares a case study about a patient who experienced complications from excessive green tea consumption during treatment, illustrating how even beneficial natural substances can interfere with cancer therapies when used improperly. This highlights the importance of proper guidance from knowledgeable practitioners who understand potential interactions. The discussion covers safe supplements that can be taken during conventional cancer treatments when properly supervised. Dr. Schoen recommends foundational supplements like modified citrus pectin (which binds to galectin-3 and prevents cancer progression), Magnolia extract (which helps reduce angiogenesis), and vitamin D (crucial for immune function). He also discusses the importance of trace minerals like zinc and beneficial mushrooms such as Turkey Tail, Reishi, and Cordyceps for supporting immune function. Throughout the conversation, both doctors stress the importance of patients advocating for themselves while seeking multiple opinions to make informed decisions about their treatment. They highlight how integrative therapies, when properly administered, can enhance the effectiveness of conventional treatments and support patients throughout their cancer journey, potentially improving outcomes and quality of life.Dr. Eric Schoen emphasizes that 35-44% of cancer patients incorporate integrative therapies alongside conventional treatments, some with their oncologist's knowledge and others without disclosing it.Patients should work with specialists who understand integrative oncology rather than navigating treatment alone, as the complexity of cancer care requires expertise to avoid harmful interactions between therapies.Modified citrus pectin is highlighted as a foundational supplement that binds to galectin-3, helping prevent cancer progression and the formation of new blood vessels that feed tumors.Green tea consumption requires careful monitoring during cancer treatment as it can potentially interfere with certain treatments by affecting estrogen metabolism and causing bioaccumulation of stress molecules.Mushrooms like Turkey Tail, Reishi, and Cordyceps offer significant immune support during cancer treatment, while also helping to reduce fatigue commonly experienced by patients.----Grab my book A Better Way to Treat Cancer: A Comprehensive Guide to Understanding, Preventing and Most Effectively Treating Our Biggest Health Threat - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CM1KKD9X?ref_=pe_3052080_397514860 Unleashing 10X Power: A Revolutionary Approach to Conquering Cancerhttps://store.thekarlfeldtcenter.com/products/unleashing-10x-power-Price: $24.99-100% Off Discount Code: CANCERPODCAST1Healing Within: Unraveling the Emotional Roots of Cancerhttps://store.thekarlfeldtcenter.com/products/healing-within-Price: $24.99-100% Off Discount Code: CANCERPODCAST2----Integrative Cancer Solutions was created to instill hope and empowerment. In this week's episode of Retire in Texas, Darryl Lyons, CEO and Co-Founder of PAX Financial Group, breaks down one of the most overlooked but critical elements of financial planning: the discovery meeting. Whether you're already a client or just starting to explore a relationship with an advisor, understanding how PAX approaches discovery reveals a lot about what it means to truly serve clients with clarity, care, and purpose. Darryl shares a behind-the-scenes look at how PAX advisors engage with new clients - not with sales pitches or pressure, but with thoughtful questions and deep listening. Through personal stories, lessons from past client experiences, and insights drawn from behavioral finance, this episode offers a valuable window into how the right discovery process sets the foundation for long-term success. Key highlights of the episode include: What a discovery meeting is really about - and how it differs from old-school sales tactics. Why the first question a good advisor asks isn't “What do you have?” but “What do you want?” How behavioral finance tools like “Money Mind” and “Honest Conversations” help uncover what truly matters. The importance of including both spouses - and why trust, relief, and clarity are the true deliverables. How today's advisors are thinking partners - not brokers, not salespeople - and why that distinction matters. Whether you're looking to revisit your own financial goals or want to understand how PAX serves the people you refer, this episode reframes financial planning not as a product, but as a partnership rooted in values and vision. Want to be a guest or know someone would be a great fit? I am looking for military vets, active duty, military brats, veteran service orgs or anyone in the fitness industryForget the overnight success stories and million-dollar launch myths. This raw, honest conversation with Denise Millet—the "Findability Queen"—peels back the glossy veneer of entrepreneurship to reveal what really happens when you decide to work for yourself.Denise's journey began not with a business plan, but with a wake-up call. Standing in a hotel lobby during yet another exhausting business trip, she received a cancer diagnosis that forced her to reevaluate everything. Though thankfully treatable, this moment became the catalyst that transformed her from corporate consultant to entrepreneur. "If you're going to work that hard for a company that has no loyalty to you," she reflects, "I would much rather put my loyalty in me."What follows is a refreshingly candid discussion about the messy middle of building a business—the part most entrepreneurs don't share on social media. Denise reveals how her greatest corporate strength—being a versatile problem-solver—actually became her biggest entrepreneurial weakness. "Online, you need one thing, one thing," she emphasizes, describing the years-long process of narrowing her focus to become truly effective. From the challenge of articulating your value proposition to the delicate dance of work-life balance, Denise offers practical wisdom gained through trial and error. Her advice on finding the right mentor stands out as particularly valuable: research thoroughly, observe their communication style, and ensure they're willing to answer your questions—even if you need to ask fifty times before understanding. For anyone standing at the crossroads of continued employment or entrepreneurship, Denise offers this gem: start small, on the side, without the pressure of immediate success. "It's not something you want to do feeling panicked," she advises. And perhaps most importantly: "Stop getting ready to get ready. Just do it."Ready to take that first small step toward building something meaningful? This episode will give you both the reality check and encouragement you need to move forward with confidence.https://www.denisemillet.comYoutube: @findabilityqueenSupport the show

Perception. The state of being or process of becoming aware of something through the senses. In 2025, this often means, believing what you see and hear. Regardless of accuracy and fact, we as a society build "our truth" off of our perceptions. For those of us trying to build support, to correct misinformation, about our 2A community, it means fighting the colossal battle against public perception. As the adage goes, perception is reality. Whether things heard in the news or seen on social media are indeed true, they are believed by the public masses just as if they were. This means, for those of us trying to better the community and build support from unlikely places, having honest conversations. Sometimes even with ourselves. Come to a Dehoarding Accountability Zoom Session: http://www.overcomecompulsivehoarding.co.uk/ticket Subscribe to the podcast: https://www.overcomecompulsivehoarding.co.uk/subscribe Podcast show notes, links and transcript: http://www.overcomecompulsivehoarding.co.uk/ This week, I talk about what happens when I actually let myself feel the tough emotions instead of shutting them down - a pattern that's shaped my life and my struggles with hoarding, self-harm, and eating disorders. After a thought-provoking conversation with Anna Sale on Death, Sex & Money last year, I started questioning whether avoiding feelings has helped or hurt me in the long run and have been trying to process that ever since! I share what it's like to sit with big emotions, experiment with messy ways to cope, and why feeling the feelings might just be a way forward. Avoiding Feelings Realisation that I tend to do anything rather than feel difficult emotions. Recent personal reflection and processing feelings over the past few months. Impact of mental health and a PTSD flare-up on my ability to manage feelings. Connecting Coping Mechanisms to Avoidance Experience with PTSD, self-harm, anorexia, and bulimia as different forms of not feeling or avoiding emotions. Insights from an interview with Anna Sale on Death, Sex & Money that linked these coping together as forms of avoidance. Acknowledgment that these strategies were more than just avoidance - also punitive, protective, and multifaceted. The Cost and Pattern of Emotional Avoidance Compartmentalising as a lifelong coping skill and its negative long-term consequences. Difficulty breaking the habit of not feeling and the impact on my sense of identity. Recognition that suppressing feelings can be as damaging as (or more damaging than) the feelings themselves. Actively Facing and Processing Feelings Engaging in therapy, journaling (both resentful and creative/collage style), and reading poetry to access emotions. Talking more openly with friends as a supportive measure. Forcing myself to do enjoyable activities (like getting outside), which helps counteract avoidance. Community, Connection, and Support Impact of Trauma and Suppression on Daily Life How PTSD and unprocessed sadness began affecting sleep, revealing that suppressing feelings is no longer effective. Discusses the challenge of letting oneself feel emotions, both by choice and when overcome involuntarily. The risks of being overwhelmed and the delicate balance between feeling and avoidance. Learning and Conversations About Emotional Acceptance Revisiting lessons from previous podcast guests about the counterproductivity of suppressing or over-intellectualising feelings. The concept that suppressed emotions may “come out sideways” through other behaviours, like self-harm or hoarding. Nuanced view of coping mechanisms - not labeling them as purely negative since they served protective purposes. Vulnerability, Shame, and Deepening Relationships Gradual willingness to share deeper, more distressing moments with friends. Examining the reasons behind the instinct to hide intense distress. How vulnerability leads to stronger, more meaningful connections. Positive Effects of Feeling the Hard Stuff Discovering that feeling hard emotions increases the capacity to feel positive emotions more deeply. Finding deeper love, joy, and beauty in everyday experiences. Recognising the importance of support systems when exploring difficult emotions. Reflection and Encouragement for Listeners Encourages listeners to be curious about their own patterns of avoidance and coping. Cautions that intentionally feeling emotions is difficult and requires support. The hopeful observation that allowing feelings can be cathartic, gratifying, and healing—even if it's uncomfortable. In this honest and unfiltered episode, I sit down with my wife to talk about marriage, life, and everything in between — from the things we love to the things that drive us crazy. It's real, it's raw, and maybe a little too relatable.
There are certain topics in the dog training world that feel almost taboo - among them is the topic of behavioral euthanasia. In this episode Deb and I have a frank but thoughtful conversation on evaluating the severity of a behavior issue and what factors go into that sort of decision.
Let the Awkward Conversations Begin!Adaeze and Chad―two different people, two different backgrounds―both brought a lot of baggage into their relationship. Adaeze, a black Nigerian American woman who has lived with racism and discrimination her entire life. Chad, a white man with a family from the South who mostly grew up in white spaces. Determined to learn to communicate honestly and effectively, they stepped into tough conversations about their differences. Walls came down and Adaeze and Chad discovered the trust and respect they could have in and for each other. Today, we're discussing the tragic murder of Austin Metcalf — a case that's not just heartbreaking but deeply revealing of a larger cultural crisis we need to address head-on. I'll be sharing my raw thoughts on what happened, and more importantly, having the uncomfortable (but necessary) conversation surrounding crime statistics in the black community. If we're ever going to see real change — fewer senseless killings, safer neighborhoods, and stronger families — then we have to stop tiptoeing around the truth. It's time to talk about why these patterns keep repeating and what cultural shifts must happen to break the toxic and deadly cycle. This isn't about hate — it's about accountability, truth, and the fight for life, stability, and genuine justice.—https://policecoffee.com/?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAACG7qmLTSF8TidU6uJpGkHMYzxsnd&gclid=Cj0KCQjwqcO_BhDaARIsACz62vPh4GA_6w_PdX8w4PW0sRhPD76KOyhYBmiEOdpiLXHP1G10c9kaPMEaAkK-EALw_wcB

A disturbing resurgence of ICE horror stories are taking centre stage on social media - this Trump term, however, some recounts are now being told from Canadian voices. Regardless of documentation or criminal history, it seems no one is safe from the cold floors and foil blankets that personify the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement experience. Host Maria Kestane speaks with Jasmine Mooney on her chilling experience behind several sets of bars in several ICE detention facilities, and how a never-ending chain of 'I don't knows' painted a stark image of just how blurred the American immigration lines are. Send us a textWhat happens when an independent journalist who questions police accountability meets two veteran officers willing to have honest conversations? The result is a rare window into the complexities of modern American policing that challenges perspectives on both sides.Damien Riggs brings his decade of journalistic experience to engage with our hosts about the difficult questions facing law enforcement today. Rather than rehearsed talking points, this conversation dives deep into thorny issues like qualified immunity, the "gypsy cop" phenomenon that allows problem officers to move between departments, and why good departments handle accountability so differently than toxic ones. The discussion takes a powerful turn when examining the Daniel Shaver shooting, revealing how good officers view these tragic incidents with genuine horror rather than defensiveness. This authentic moment demonstrates something crucial about police culture - contrary to popular belief, ethical officers are often more disturbed by these incidents than civilians because they understand exactly how things should have been handled differently.Particularly enlightening is the live analysis of body camera footage showing both successful and problematic police encounters. These real-time assessments provide a masterclass in how experienced officers evaluate situations, make split-second decisions, and recognize danger signals. Through this collaborative analysis, you'll gain unprecedented insight into the complex realities officers face daily.Whether you support law enforcement or question current policing practices, this episode offers nuanced perspectives that challenge simplistic narratives. Hey friends! Welcome to Girls' Night! Today we're sharing one woman's courageous journey of living with an autoimmune disorder and navigating the challenges of motherhood. I know there are women listening who dream of being a mother. But for those living with chronic illness or other health complications, that dream can come with uncertainty and doubt. Even if you haven't walked this path, you may know the ache of longing for something that feels just out of reach. Today's conversation is for anyone who has ever wondered if their dream of motherhood will ever become a reality. Our guest for today's episode is my new friend, Ashley Fenker. Ashley is the author of a new book called Good (Enough) Mother. In this new collection of stories and essays, Ashley explores the complexities of chronic illness, modern motherhood, and faith. Ashley's story is full of hope and resilience – I was so inspired by it and I know you will be too! One last thing before we dive in: This season, we're doing a really fun giveaway each week as a thank you for supporting this show (and the women who put it together!). This week, we'll be picking one winner of a $50 visa gift card — perfect for hosting a girls night of your own! To enter, all you have to do is take a screenshot of the show as you're listening, and share it on social media. Make sure to tag me! I'm @SMayWilson. One last thing: I know that some of our episodes are pretty personal (in fact, a lot of them are) and so I want you to know that you don't have to share the exact episode you're listening to in order to enter the giveaway. You can just share the show in general. (That way you're not accidentally giving your Aunt Susan and all your old high school friends information about your personal life that you don't necessarily want them to have!) Quote to Ponder: "To be grateful is to recognize the Love of God in everything He has given us - and He has given us everything. Every breath we draw is a gift of His love, every moment of existence is a grace, for it brings with it immense graces from Him. Gratitude therefore takes nothing for granted, is never unresponsive, is constantly awakening to new wonder and to praise of the goodness of God. For the grateful person knows that God is good, not by hearsay but by experience. And that is what makes all the difference."
