UncommonTEEN: The Podcast for Christian Teen Girls

Send us a textWe are going to be doing something a little different with the UncommonTEEN Podcast in 2025. This year, I want to explore different people in the Bible who made a major impact for the Lord and lessons we can learn from them. This month, we are focusing on Esther.  Isaiah 43:16-19 says, “I am the Lord, who opened a way through the waters, making a dry path through the sea. I called forth the mighty army of Egypt with all its chariots and horses (this is when the Israelites were held captive by the Egyptians and Moses came in to deliver them). I drew them beneath the waves, and they drowned, their lives snuffed out like a smoldering candlewick. But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.  When in verse 18 God says, “But forget all that!” He's talking about the past...He doesn't want our past to hold us back from what He has planned for us.  Could you imagine if Esther held herself back because of her past? If she thought about how she was an orphan...that she was a nobody. If she curled up in a ball and gave up on life? I'm so thankful she didn't do that.  In verse 19, God goes on to say, “For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?”  God is telling us to look up! To get our faith up! He's got a plan for our lives that is so much better than we even know!  Ephesians 3:20 tells us that with God's power at work in us, because we have gotten a revelation of how much He loves us, He is able to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.  I don't know about you, but I can dream up some pretty big things.   God tells us in this verse that when we get a revelation of how much He loves us and we step out in faith, He can do way more…infinitely more than we can even ask or think! We get a revelation of God's love, by getting into the Bible and looking at verses on how much God loves us.  Once we get that revelation of God's love for us, it's time to step out in faith!  Esther knew that God was for her and that she didn't have to fear. So, instead of bowing down to that fear, she chose to take God at His Word and seek Him.  How do we grow our faith? Make a decision that you are going to trust God and His Word (the Bible). Get into the Word and listen to solid Biblical teachings. Meditate on the what you read in the Bible and what you are learning. Speak God's Word over your life. Take action.Ladies, check your emails this week for updates on the New UncommonTEEN App!!To ask your Ask Me Anything Questions or if you need prayer, head on over to UncommonTEEN.com.For the Ask Me Anything Questions, click on the RED BUTTON at the top of the screen. September 15, 2024 - Sunday PM Sermon   "Don't Turn on the Furnace... Open a Window" (2 Tim. 2:24-26) Neal Pollard   Turning on the furnace - more heat, but opening a window - more light.   Hot Button Issues: - Marriage/Divorce/Remarriage - The necessity of baptism - Role of women in the church - Abortion - Homosexuality - Transgenderism In 2 Timothy 2:24-36, the "servant of the Lord" is one who is sharing the gospel. The Servant of the Lord: 1.  Must have the right mindset.  Be positive in your approach to others.      A. Don't be quarrelsome, intensive, or bitter.  Some things in life are left to our judgment/conscience.  For example:  Proverbs 22:6 states to "bring up a child in the way that they should go" but doesn't tell specifically how to do this.  Another example is 1 Timothy 2:9-10 on modest; also not specific and left to judgment.  And politics.      B. Be kind to all.  God loves all people.  Acts 10:34-35, James 2:1-5.  Look at everyone the same.  We are all image-bearers of God. 2.  Must have the right message (24).  Psalm 119:105, Proverbs 6:23.      A. Be able to teach the right message.  Our message must be the truth.      B. Our message must help people come to their senses.  Urge a message of repentance.  2 Timothy 2:24-36 and Ephesians 4:17. Speak God's message in love.      C. The message should lead one to know the truth. 3.  Must have the right method.      A. It requires patience (24).  Matthew 5:39.      B. It requires gentle correction (25)           1.  Watch your tone!           2.  Excess (not always preaching/teaching the same topic, but round out to other topics).           3.  Assumption.  Don't assume what someone else things/knows.           4.  Choice.  Keep the important things first.           5.  Heart.  Watch your own heart.  For example, the Pharisees did not watch their own heart in the pursuit of righteousness.  Galatians 6:1.  Be gentle. 4.  Must have the right motives.  Our motive is to help people go to heaven.  Philippians 1:15-17and 4:2.   Duration 33:59

Break The Deceptive Silence About God | 1 Samuel 10:10-16

Resolute Podcast

Are you ready to break the deceptive silence about your faith in God? Welcome to the Daily Devo. I am Vince Miller. This week, we are in 1 Samuel 10. I've titled this chapter "The Appointed But Reluctant Leader." Today, we continue the story. Saul arrives back home, and this is what happens in verses 10-16: When they came to Gibeah, behold, a group of prophets met him, and the Spirit of God rushed upon him, and he prophesied among them. And when all who knew him previously saw how he prophesied with the prophets, the people said to one another, “What has come over the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?” And a man of the place answered, “And who is their father?” Therefore it became a proverb, “Is Saul also among the prophets?” When he had finished prophesying, he came to the high place. Saul's uncle said to him and to his servant, “Where did you go?” And he said, “To seek the donkeys. And when we saw they were not to be found, we went to Samuel.” And Saul's uncle said, “Please tell me what Samuel said to you.” And Saul said to his uncle, “He told us plainly that the donkeys had been found.” But about the matter of the kingdom, of which Samuel had spoken, he did not tell him anything. — 1 Samuel 10:10-16 This section explains what Saul said and did not say after he returned home. Let's look at both seperately: What Saul Said When Saul comes to his home in Gibeah, the Spirit of God rushes upon him, and he joins the other prophets and begins prophesying. Let's note that the word "prophesy" has two intended meanings: to foretell or forthtell. Most of the time, when someone prophesies in the Old Testament, they speak God's Word or repeat something declared by God's Word. In this case, that is what Saul is doing. He is not foretelling events like Samuel did for him. Instead, he is forthtelling God's Word. When we get to Chapter 19, this will happen again when Saul returns to Ramah (1 Samuel 19:23-24). In the New Testament, something similar happened at Pentecost. The Spirit fell upon believers after Jesus ascended, and the people experienced the Spirit of God. Onlookers were confused by this, thinking they were intoxicated, but they were simply experiencing the overwhelming power of God, evidenced by the way they communicated. Because the Spirit was now dwelling in them, their minds changed, and their mouths expressed this change. But let's get back to Saul. What happens next clarifies that this rushing of the Spirit upon him was not permanent (like New Testament believers) but momentary. What Saul Did Not Say Next, Saul is confronted by his uncle. His uncle must have been aware that Samuel was the great prophet and that more was up because of how long Saul was with the prophets, confirmed by the occurrence of the prophesying. What is surprising here is that Saul's response was honest but deceptively incomplete: he told him about the message of the lost donkeys but failed to tell him he would be the first king. This is strange, and scripture is silent about why this is. Even so, we witness two distinct men in this text: one who is strikingly open and bold about God's Word and the other who is silent and ashamed about God's Word. These two distinct men will show up again and again in Saul's story, and it will be his undoing. This is a challenge for many believers. We act one way when we are with believers and another way when we are with the world. We are outspoken when we are with believers but deceptively silent when we interact with the world. This representative hypocrisy is exactly what prevents the advancement of the Gospel. We are deceptively concealing the whole truth of the Word of God. Given our time, it is interesting that this is exactly what the world wants us to do. They want us to keep silent about our faith in the institutions of the world, but we shouldn't be. Our time and the people in these places need the Word of God. Those who speak up and break the threshold of these concerns will usher in a new season, breakthrough representative hypocrisy, and become whole men and women of God. So, break through your spiritual reluctance today. Speak God's Word to someone you know to whom you've not spoken God's Word. Break the threshold of deceptive silence and start telling the whole truth about God. #BoldFaith, #SpeakGodsTruth, #BreakTheSilence Ask This: In what areas of your life do you find it challenging to speak openly about your faith, and what steps can you take to overcome this reluctance? Reflect on a recent situation where you chose to remain silent about your faith. How might the outcome have been different if you had spoken up and shared God's truth? Do This: Breakthrough the silence with one person today. Pray This: Lord, give me the courage to speak Your truth boldly and without hesitation. Help me to overcome my fears and be a faithful witness of Your love and grace in every situation. Amen. Play This: Speak Life.

Episode Summary:Interviewing Jonathan Merritt felt like having a conversation with myself. His journey out of white evangelical subculture is an almost mirror-image of my journey. My guess is, you'll find a lot of correlation as well. Jonathan was a card-carrying evangelical who left his Southern roots and evangelical home to find faith, family, and freedom outside the confines and cult-like community of evangelical Christianity. His journey led him from certainty to contemplation, from winning to wisdom, from the shallow end of the pool into the deep waters of Ignatian spirituality, and from exclusion to radical inclusion. As he reminds us, evangelical Christianity is not only a fairly modern invention, it is also a minority movement within global Christianity. Evangelicals do not have a monopoly on God. There are a myriad of spiritual pathways available to you once you leave. So take heart, there is life after evangelicalism. There is faith after evangelicalism. There is new found family after evangelicalism. You get to decide what your future is going to look like. You have the power to form a freer faith and a more inclusive “family.” Four years and seventy-four episodes into Holy Heretics Podcast and I can honestly say I believe this conversation with Jonathan Merritt to be the most helpful and hopeful episode we've ever created. I hope you enjoy!Bio:Jonathan Merritt is one of America's most popular writers on issues of faith and culture. He is author of several critically-acclaimed books, including Learning to Speak God from Scratch: Why Sacred Words are Vanishing - and How We Can Revive Them, named “Book of the Year” by the Englewood Review of Books. Jonathan is an award-winning contributor for The Atlantic, a contributing editor for The Week, and a regular columnist for Religion News Service. In addition to the written word, Jonathan regularly contributes commentary to television, print, and radio news outlets. He has been interviewed by ABC World News, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, NPR, PBS, and CBS' “60 Minutes.” Jonathan is also a sought after speaker at colleges, conferences, and churches on topics relating to spirituality, politics, and current events. Embrace the Power of Jesus for Transformation In the depths of our struggles, spiritual warfare, and daily challenges, we yearn for guidance and liberation. The story of Jesus' miracles, as recorded in the Gospel of Mark, offers us hope and practical steps to navigate life's obstacles. This comprehensive blog post delves into the insights from a sermon on March 17th, providing suggestions to empower you on your journey. Encountering Divine Authority: The Power to Cast Out Darkness Like the man possessed by a demon, we can find ourselves bound by negative influences, addictions, and oppressive thoughts. Just as Jesus confronted the unclean spirit with authority, we too can command spiritual forces to flee in the name of Christ. 1. Cultivate Faith and Belief: Jesus emphasized the importance of faith in his power. Believe in his ability to heal, deliver, and transform. 2. Speak God's Word: The Word of God is a powerful weapon against darkness. Quote Scripture aloud, declaring your faith and defying spiritual forces. 3. Share God's Word: Spread the gospel and share your experiences with others. By witnessing to the power of Jesus, you invite them to encounter his transformative grace. Experiencing Healing and Liberation Peter's mother-in-law, sick with a fever, received instant healing from Jesus' touch. Similarly, we can experience healing in all areas of our lives. 1. Bring Your Problems to Jesus: Don't hesitate to share your struggles with Jesus. He is not distant but actively involved in your life. 2. Embrace His Compassion and Love: Jesus' touch brings comfort and healing. Allow his love to permeate your being, providing strength and restoration. 3. Respond with Gratitude and Service: As the healed woman served Jesus and others, express your gratitude by committing to serve God and your community. Walking in Authority and Receiving Deliverance Throughout the day, Jesus performed numerous miracles, including casting out demons and healing the sick. As you walk with Jesus, expect him to manifest his power in your life. 1. Resist Spiritual Warfare: Recognize and resist spiritual attacks with the shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit (Scripture). 2. Expect the Unexpected: Don't limit God to your expectations. Trust in his ability to exceed them and work in unexpected ways. 3. Share Your Struggles: Find support and encouragement by sharing your battles with trusted friends or a spiritual community. Have you ended a relationship to get relief from tension and conflict?Do you struggle with developing a clear sense of boundaries around what's your responsibility and what's not, especially when feeling responsible for how others think and feel? When relationships are toxic, abusive, and oppressive and the other person does not have the interest or capacity to work on the relationship, ending the relationship can bring grief but also relief, emotional healing, and health. But when you regularly use emotional cutoffs to protect yourself from hurt and discomfort, you create a world that feels dangerous and small when the slightest sense of conflict or overwhelm arises. But if two people can come together with clear boundaries, shared values, compassion, curiosity, humility, and support to work through conflict and disagreement, an emotional cut-off may become unnecessary. My guest today returns to the podcast to share his experience of an incident that could have ended his relationship with his father, and how they both committed to working through the conflict to maintain their connection, even through their differences.Jonathan Merritt is a prolific and trusted writer on faith, culture, and politics whose articles have appeared regularly in outlets such as The Atlantic, The New York Times, USA Today, Christianity Today, and The Washington Post. He is the author of numerous critically acclaimed books, including Learning to Speak God from Scratch: Why Sacred Words are Vanishing and How We Can Revive Them, which was named Book of the Year by Englewood Review of Books. He is also author of the forthcoming children's book, My Guncle and Me, releasing in May 2024. Jonathan has become a popular speaker at conferences, colleges, and churches and guest commentary on CNN, Fox News, CNN, NPR, PBS, and ABC World News. He holds graduate degrees from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Emory University's Candler School of Theology.Listen to the full episode to hear:How being publicly outed forced Jonathan into a reckoning with his faith, his identity, and his family and communityThe role that dreams and expectations play in the way both parents and children respond to fundamental differences between themWhy an expectation of change cannot be a prerequisite for a relationshipWhy Jonathan says he and his father fight with each other in private and for each other in publicWhy finding healthy surrogates or outlets for processing is vital for healing when we truly can't continue the relationshipNavigating past avoidance and confrontation to renegotiating the relationship with necessary boundaries and guardrailsHow “flash-card faith” stifles the questioning and openness to possibilities that underpin trust and faith and breeds binary divisivenessLearn more about Jonathan Merritt:WebsiteFacebook: @JonathanMerrittWriterInstagram: @jonathan_merrittTwitter: @JonathanMerrittLearning to Speak God from Scratch: Why Sacred Words Are Vanishing–and How We Can Revive ThemPreorder My Guncle and MeLearn more about Rebecca:rebeccaching.comWork With RebeccaSign up for the weekly Unburdened Leader EmailResources:Bowen Family SystemsFaith does not live by answers alone, Jonathan MerrittThe Artist's Way, Julia CameronWrite for Life: Creative Tools for Every Writer, Julia CameronMother, Nature: A 5,000-Mile Journey to Discover If a Mother and Son Can Survive Their Differences, Jedidiah JenkinsDarlin' (Christmas is Coming), Over the RhineIf We Make It Through December, Phoebe BridgersIf We Make It Through December, Merle HaggardJulia

FIRM FOUNDATIONSong by Cody CarnesReleased December 2021Written during a “shaky season” - (covid, political unrest, riots, etc.)Based on what Jesus teaches us in: Matthew 7:24-27Jesus tells this parable at the end of the sermon on the mount Sermon that teaches people how to live. Matthew 7:24-27 (NIV) “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”Sand Castle - crumbling from below when the water hitsA solid foundation, like a rock, stays put and everything built upon it stays strongBuild your house on GOD GOD IS OUR FOUNDATION “Christ is my firm foundation” ~ “The Rock on which I stand” ~ “My house is built on you” “I'm standing strong on you” ~ “I've built my life on Jesus” ~ “I'm safe with You”Isaiah 26:4 (ESV) Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.Psalm 62:6 (ESV) He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.Psalm 18:2 (ESV) The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my strongholdDon't know what we've put our faith in until we weather a stormWe can see how solid our foundation is when we go through a storm2020 revealed that for a lot of people THERE WILL BE STORMS “When everything around me is shaking” ~ “Joy in chaos” ~ “Rain came, wind blew”John 16:33 (NIV) “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”Storms are promised Caused by: the enemy - since the Garden of EdenOthers - impacted by their selfish motivationsOurselves - Not doing what God tells us - Doing the oppositeJesus experienced storms - metaphorically and literallyIn the boat with the disciples - sleeping during the storm - Matthew 8:24-27 “Suddenly a furious storm came up… waves swept over the boat. Save us! We're gonna drown! You of little faith. Why are you afraid?” Walking on water to meet his disciples - Matthew 14:22-33 but the boat by this time was a long way from the land, beaten by the waves, for the wind was against them. And in the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea. Calls Peter out of the boat - when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. Walked through the storm on water - a firm foundation because of his faithDon't doubt the one who you are putting your faith in. James 1:2-3 (NIV) Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. This doesn't make sense until you go through something and experience the joy of drawing closer to God. James 1:6 (NIV) But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. Don't look at the storm or your circumstances. Look to the one who can save youSpeak God's promises over your life, over your situationGOD IS WITH YOU “He's faithful through generations” ~ “I've got peace that makes no sense” ~ “I'm gonna make it through”Psalm 100:5 NIV For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.Deuteronomy 7:9 NIV Bible story after story of God's faithfulness - from beginning to endGarden of Eden to Revelations Bible full of stories of people messing upForgives us - gives us chance after chanceGod makes a way - sent Jesus Philippians 4:6-7 NIV Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Peace that makes no sense The feeling of the holy spirit wrapping his arms around meStorm didn't end, but everything was going to be alright Joshua 1:9 NIV …Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”Stand on the rock of Christ - not crushed by fear. Faith in the one who made you - not fear in the storm around you!Hebrews 13:5 NIV Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”Deuteronomy 31:8 ESVWe put our faith in a lot of things. Money- too much, too littleThe bridges we drive over. - person who welded or boltedThe tires on our cars - blow offThe roof over our heads - crashes downOurselves - disappointment - wrong expectationsOur family, friends - death or betrayal - disappointmentOur health - failing Speak God's promises over your life. Speak God's truth! PUT YOUR FAITH IN JESUS“I've never been more glad that I put my faith in Jesus” ~ “He's never let me down” ~ “He won't (fail)”James 4:8 NIV Come near to God and he will come near to you.Why do I have faith in Jesus? As I have drawn nearer to God, he has drawn nearer to me.As I seek him, he is there. You need to seek him. Faith without works is dead. Believe through your actions. Not just your words. He has shown up in the storms of my life. 1 John 5:4 ESV For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.I have experienced what the bible talks about. Victory from the stormThose moments are anchor points for me. My foundation (faith) is firm and growing. Ephesians 2:8 ESV For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of GodIt is not by my own doing but through the grace of God who has saved me. He's never let me down. I have let myself down, others have let me down, but not God. Not always the way I thought he'd bring me throughBut always faithful! John 3:16 ESV “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. The basis of my foundation is this! I believe Jesus came and died for our sins. I believe in his resurrection powerI sing because Jesus died for me. He alone is worthy of praise. - GREAT ARE YOU LORD!

When fear takes control, God just crushes it.   None of us are immune from feeling unsettled at times. Circumstances have a way of knocking us off balance. How we respond not only affects our lives, but those who are watching us.   In the film “The Patriot,” a Colonial militia leader sees the British kidnap his son. Taking the two younger sons with him, they wait in ambush in the forest. One of the sons is rattled and crying, so the father puts his hands on the boy's shoulders, looks him in the eyes, and says, “Steady.” Fear drains from the boy's face.   In that moment of terror for the whole family, the father's example won the day, and their day ended well.   In 2 Timothy 1:7, we learn the source of calm. It says this: “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and a sound mind.”   God has given you a spirit of power, love, and a good mind. So don't let fear, the enemy, or the world intimidate you when it comes to sharing your faith. Speak God's truth with boldness, and love. Your moment will come one day, and by keeping in mind the truth of God's word, courage will overcome fear.   Notice the qualities mentioned in 2 Timothy. God has actually given us courage, but also power, and a sound mind—also phrased as self-discipline. And discipline will help keep you steady in a crisis. That spirit of power actually does our fighting for us, and it is the enemy who is afraid.   Let's pray.   Father, you are good to us. Just as Jesus modeled for us how to handle fear when he prayed in the garden, we know that you have our back, and we can be courageous. Thank you for a sound mind and a calm heart in times of trouble. In Jesus' name, amen.

Guest: Dr. Connor Bales, Pastor, Prestonwood North Campus   How can a young man keep his way pure (how to be a godly success)? Listen and learn as Dr. Bales shares some “gold nuggets” of wisdom from Psalm 119:9-16: By guarding it according to your word. Filter everything through the lens of Scripture - relationships, college, social media, church…let God's Word inform you on literally everything! Which means…that you need to know, read, and study your Bible! Go ALL IN…“with my whole heart I seek you.” When you live your life with Christ at the center, that's your “best hand!” Study and learn God's word - “I have stored up your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” The Word of God is both a window through which to see the world…and a mirror by which to see yourself! Stay teachable (coachable). “Blessed are you, O Lord; teach me your statutes.” The more teachable we are, the more God can teach us! Humility is essential for the Christian journey! Speak God's truth. “With my lips I declare all the rules of your mouth.” Big difference between “I think that…” and “God's Word says…” Find your greatest joy in Jesus! “In the way of your testimonies I delight as much as in all riches.” Know the transcendent joy that comes from connection with God through Christ…which is far greater than temporary circumstantial happiness. Give your thought life to God. “I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways.” Consider the spiritual disciplines…and practice them, they are there to draw you closer to God! Define genuine joy, seek after it, don't forget it when you arrive! “I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word.” Special shout out to Jared Wood for allowing us to use his music - check him out at JaredWoodMusic!

Guest: Dr. Connor Bales   Psalm 119:9-16   How can a young man keep his way pure (unstained, on track, moving toward success without hindrance)? By guarding it according to your word. You need to filter everything through the lens of the Word of God - your life, relationships, emotions, attitudes, career, etc. Go “ALL IN” with God. “With my whole heart I seek you.” A life with God through Christ is worth going “all in” for - giving your all to Him and letting Him guide and direct your steps. When we “bet” our lives on anything less than Jesus, we lose. Study and learn God's Word. “I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” Stay teachable (coachable). “Blessed are you, O Lord; teach me your statutes.” No greater source we can learn from than God's Word. Speak God's truth. “With my lips I declare all the rules of your mouth.” Men speak truth. Period. Dangerous statement is “I think that…” - better statement is “God's Word says this…” Find your greatest joy in Jesus. “In the way of your testimonies I delight, as much as in all riches.” God is your transcendent source of joy and an “explosive happiness.” Do not look for your identity and joy in your accomplishments. Give your thought life to God. “I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways.” What thoughts are you letting roll around in your mind? Social media is designed so that you don't spend time thinking about one thing deeply. Define genuine joy, seek after it, and don't forget it when you get there. “I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word.” If Jesus is your joy, then seek after Him - what are the things that “give you more Jesus”? What is truly important to you - write it down, tell it to others (importance of community - not meant to be a reservoir, but a river of God's blessings).   If your life is successful by the world's standards, but not by God's…your life is an eternal failure.   T4M guys - just a reminder that Training4Manhood is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) ministry and you can make donations either via Zelle (info@training4manhood.com) or by visiting the Training4Manhood website.
