We finally finish this amazing series on HBO about black families living through the Jim Crow era and fighting not only against racism but witchcraft. Based on a book which in turn is based on H.P Lovecraft horror stories. A known racist in his time. Ain’t that a bitch?
This was a critically acclaimed series from Great Britain that moved a lot of people with the uncomfortable reality it brings to the situation as well as the characters. A brilliant addition to HBO After being sexually assaulted in a nightclub, Arabella's life changes irreversibly and she is forced to reassess everything, including her career, friends and family
A lot of little buzz jumped up on my reviews about this Sundance winner. Not realizing it was a New York movie as well as filmed in Black and White. I had no expectations whether good or bad, but slightly more excited because it was written, stared and directed in this debut movie. here's the synopses. As a fan of Blumhouse films, I saw that Amazon was going to release a set of horror/Drama movie for their prime subscription. One of these happened to be a black cast movie that had a very interesting concept with identity or your soul After losing his wife and memory in a car accident, a single father undergoes an agonizing experimental treatment that causes him to question who he really is
We were pretty stoked to sit down and see this beloved legal detective drama we use to watch staring Raymond Burr. Now that HBO took a stab at it. We wanted to see if it was worth the watch. Legal drama set in 1932 Los Angeles and based on novels and short stories penned by Erle Stanley Gardner
So this is a weird one. I’m usually into quality made movies or action packed epic films. Also If it is written well, a drama that catches my attention. But this recommendation was a 2017 B movie about time travel. I was told it was similar to my time travel preferences so I stopped to check it out. Here is the synopsis. A group of students become trapped inside a mysterious cave where they discover time passes differently underground than on the surface.
This documentary-drama hybrid explores the dangerous human impact of social networking, with tech experts sounding the alarm on their own creations.

Being a huge Christopher Nolan Fan I was not going to let the Corona Virus stop me from seeing his new movie spectacular with his Black lead star. This mind bending action thriller puts you back into the "inception" mind set of where things are going. Not really sure where this one is going but we went to the movies just to see it
Alicia and I sit down to watch season 2 of this cleverly created and directed Netflix show. Because there are so many superhero shows out, we didn’t expect the encore to be as good as the first season.
Some times we run into a movie everyone is checking out or happen to keep rotating into my Netflix queue. This one is a Jamie Foxx lead action thriller. A simple story line with an over zealous director. Is there action? Yes, is it thrilling? Here’s our thoughts.
As one of the top watched shoes on Netflix for awhile. I decided to watch this action movie with Charlize Theron. The fact that she is being deleted from the new Mad max reboot, I wanted to see what she she still had in the tank. This popular concept of immortal heroes fighting the wrongs in the world is not new but a bit different based on the secret society and finding a new recruit in the present day.
I sit down and watch the second season of home coming, confused with the story line and what new direction they would go to. Also some characters that I was not too fond of but decided to give this one a go. This is also an Amazon Prime series.
So Dark is a well written Sci Fi phenomenon. Even in German the complexities and time travel concepts are top notch. We pick up after the Apocalypse occurs in their small town in Germany. And a whole new sequence of events start out to uncover the true meaning behind the multidimensional love story between the two characters.
Since we are Spike Lee fans but lately we have been a bit cautious of his recent releases. Alicia and I get into the 3rd season of the acclaimed HBO series WestWorld. As extraordinary as the first 2 seasons were, we didn't know what to expect from this season because it seems as though it ended as a mystery not as a continuation. here's our thoughts
This time Alicia and I amp dead into season 3, yes we saw season 2. We enjoyed it to the extent that we had to wait until the whole 8 episode was over so we could binge watch the whole thing. This was a different presentation than the other two but worth watching as a fan Eve's life as a spy is not adding up to what she had hoped it would be when she started. She is a bored, very smart, MI5 security officer who is very desk-bound. Villanelle is a very talented killer, mercurial in mood, who clings to the luxuries of her job. Eve and Villanelle go head to head in a fierce game of cat and mouse, each woman equally obsessed with the other as Eve is tasked with hunting down the psychopathic assassin. Sarah Barnett, BBCA president, says, " `Killing Eve' stands out in a sea of scripted stories as refreshingly entertaining and great fun.
Not really thinking this would be worth the look. We decided to give Issa and Kumail a try since it is on Neflix On the brink of breaking up, a couple gets unintentionally embroiled in a bizarre murder mystery. Apple TV + has a few shows on their channel that seems pretty interesting that we took the time to check out when it came up. This month it was Captain America (Chris Evans) playing a lawyer who's son is a suspect for killing another child. The drama in which we go through pulls you back and forward of did he do it or didn't he. 8 episodes and an open ended conclusion of did his son really do it. This also was based on a book that was written in 2012 by a lawyer and writer.
Looking at the previews for this new TV series, I wasn't sure if this would be something I would find entertaining. But here's the catch, Its about dying and your consciences is uploaded into a virtual reality. Only if you can pay for the everlasting life. Made me go Hmmm, so I invited Alicia to watch it with me. Also as a added bonus, It was from Greg Daniels the creator of The Office, Parks and Recreation
So this movie on Netflix is number 1 in the nation. Mixed reviews about no story too much violence, blah, blah, blah. But I’m bored and want to see some stuff blown up. And your boy Thor is on here (Chris Hemsworth). Since he got back into shape. Why not show him some love,
This Amazon series was heavily advertised and touted as a great SCI FI series. From the works of a Swedish artist Simon Stalenhag, These 8 episodes were crated. Obviously nothing I imagined it would be, and this is much more emotional and story based than your typical extravagant science fiction.
Another Netflix foreign film, and this one is from Poland. Not many movies or shows I've seen come out of Poland but this one seemed like something worth while seeing. This is the summary. After a body is found sewn inside of a cow hide. A local detective discovers a killer is recreating an 18th century "plague" of criminal punishments on a bunch of bad people. Now, does this sound like something we have seen before?
A fatal accident at a remote survivalist training camp sends participants into a panic - and sets the stage for a chilling showdown. Sounds good don’t it. Or does it. Well It starts off like a bunch of regular anarchist learning to survive out in the wilderness until some real f’ed up stuff happens and the main protagonist freakin dies. So how does this end? Its in French so the intensity of watching this closer is recommended. A Canadian movie as well
So, this looked like it was going to be some silly animal activist redneck documentary that wasn't worth my time. But some how, I started hearing about this guy Joe exotic that was plotting to kill people. So I sat down and decided to grin and bear this crazy so called king of the tigers. Boy was I blown away. It actually was so huge I wanted more. Here's my take on this Netflix documentary of Joe Exotic, the Tiger King.
We sit down this week to look at a show that I really didn’t think would be worth my while. I’m not a big fan of Nazi and Jewish history unless its a bit unique and interesting. So when I saw some of the reviews and being a big fan of Al Pacino. I decided to sit down to see this Nazi hunter show to see if I would be able to sit through the whole 10 episodes.
Today being stuck in the house, Alicia and I find the best African American (or Black, your preference) movies worth watching during your “Shelter in place” time. And even if you have to work and have a little time. These are some quality movies you can check out. In no specific order: also the Banker is on Apple TV
Today I sit down and watch the second season of Netflix original series Kingdom. I couldn't wait to see the second season for this and it was another 6 part series. Once again a great fantasy period piece. Also did I say their were running zombies in here?
A continuation of the Suicide squad saga. We wanted to see Margot Robbie in another one of her amazing roles. Not being a big DC fan but hoping this would be better especially with out Will Smith. Here's our take on this funny and exciting spin off
We et out to check out a movie that seemed so intriguing that we had to see it on the opening day. With Elizabeth Moss leading the cast, (we love her) we had to see this remake of the classic HG Wells novel.
This movie was highly touted as a must see based on the sad and brutal effects of divorce. Very good performances and makes people have to really think about regardless of how you feel. Your partner may be feeling something else.
So, being Guy Ritchie fans, we were dying to see what he was going to do with this new movie with an all star cast of characters, British and American. We see that he has matured with his technique as well as getting a lot more money for his movies than before.
Growing up Alicia and I were big watchers of the Mr Rodgers TV show, So when they came out with a documentary as wells a motion picture of a portion of his life. We were interested in seeing it. Comparing the acting of the movie and the facts of the documentary was very interesting.
During World War I, two British soldiers -- Lance Cpl. Schofield and Lance Cpl. Blake -- receive seemingly impossible orders. In a race against time, they must cross over into enemy territory to deliver a message that could potentially save 1,600 of their fellow comrades -- including Blake's own brother. This is what we saw as we sat down to check out this epic War movie by Sam Mendes
Alicia and I go out to see the last of the Skywalker saga or series and me. I really didn’t expect this to be better than the previous one because of the weak release prior to this. But we came in with open minds and surprisingly it gave us a good ending to the Star Wars saga.
Alicia and I go out to see a story that we didn’t follow to closely but based on the amazing actresses that stared in this movi=e we had to see. The taken down of Roger Ailes but the top tier women from Fox News.
Alicia and I went out to see this new clue like whodunnit movie with an all star cast involved. Based on the clever dialogue as well as the acting provers that presented it self in the movie. We were looking forward to see how this would end up. We have to say, this did not disappoint. simple premise. Rich millionaire dies and all his children and family all have a motive to kill him. simple but not as simple.
This amazing love story layered with police violence and Black pride is a must see modern modified Bonnie and Clyde story without the gratuitous violence just for the hell of it. The writing, directing and acting was amazing.
So we get to see another Chadwick Boseman movie hoping we would see his talent or another action movie he can show off his Black panther power lol. Anyway we goy none of that, just a retool cop drama about crooked cops and drug deals gone wrong and the one good cop in New York to save the day.. Yeah right. But if you want action, you will get it. Acting and story? scroll through Netflix

A secret plot with an ongoing war between two kingdoms comes to a head when one empire decide to use deception to gain power of the other with a hidden secret within their own camp.
This Korean drama was awarded and praised at the Cannes film festival by the great Korean director Bong Joon Ho. This was something I knew I wanted to see but wasn't sure if Alicia would be able to keep up with subtitles. This film turned out to be an amazing lesson in the differences of class, privilege and suspense. This movie was laid out so well that you never knew would would be next. An extraordinary piece of art.
This amazing documentary-drama tased on true stories and inventions by Edison, Westinghouse and Tesla. A great look at a time where ingenuity, innovated designs and advancement in tech was a war to the finish. Very educational and important to how we live today.
An intense psychological look at how a killer comes to be. This comic book Legend comes to life on screen based on a concept that most people waited for years to find out the Origin story of Batmans major nemesis. Alicia and I share our views
I get to review a series that after seeing the first season, I really wanted to learn a lot more about the BSU that we followed during the Criminal minds TV series, This is based on an FBI agent that was part of the creation of this unit. We go into the second season that centers on the two major serial killers the BTK killer and the Atlanta child murders. An intense and dark series but well worth the watch
