Dragon on The Couch: The Dragon watched Der Fan (Unavailable), a German teenage horror film. She enjoyed it and thought it was fun. Next, she watched Petite Maman (Hulu), a sweet French movie that she thought was nice to watch. Next, she watched A Life Less Ordinary (Rent), she thought it was really bad and very 90's in the worst ways. Finally, she saw Creed III (Theatres), which she thought was fun and was happy to see the thiCCC shirtless men working out.   Berto on the Bed: Berto watched Ben-Hur (HBO), he felt it lived up to all the praise that had been heaped upon it over the years and thought it was amazing. Next, he watched Walking Tall (Prime), the 2004 remake starring The Rock. He thought it was a decent film, but was fun to watch. Next, he watched Paycheck (Prime), a film with a great premise that was ruined with everything else - acting, action, script, etc. Next, he watched Limitless (HBO), he thought it was a good and interesting film. Then he watched RockNRolla (HBO), a Guy Ritchie film in his usual style. He enjoyed it but thought it wasn't as good as his other films. Next, he watched Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (Hulu), he thought it was funny and was a good time. Finally, for Joe Bob corner, Berto watched Black Rose (Shudder). He thought it was really boring and forgettable.   Dragon at the Movies: This week's deep dive was the 2021 drama Benedetta, currently streaming on Hulu.

Welcome one and all. It's a new podcast day for the Reel Film Nerds. For today's episode Ma, Mike and Matt chat about Guy Ritchie's latest film Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre. Bonus discussions include Legion, death, and Yes Man. This is not your typical Guy Ritchie film. The story is told directly, there are not a ton of characters, and there are no big twists or reveals. Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre is not a bad film just not what your hosts have come to expect from Ritchie. It's a spy satire with some really funny moments but not enough. It was great seeing Josh Hartnett back on screen and in a somewhat starring role. Aubrey Plaza, Hugh Grant, and of course Jason Statham all do great jobs. Operation Fortune is just missing something keeping it from hitting that incredible film rank like previous Ritchie flicks. Ma and Mike agree Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre is a solid 3.5 out of 5 Reels. Matt really expected more but he still really enjoyed himself. He awards the film 3 out of 5 Reels. Mike, Matt, and even Ma just can't stay away from the theaters in 2023. For next week they will report back about the Sci-Fi dinosaur thriller 65 starring Adam Driver. Andy Farnsworth joins KSL-TV to help audiences decipher #WhatToWatch for the weekend of March 3, 2023.  With a solid group of choices to watch in the theaters and at home this weekend, the big question is, will The Mandalorian season three continue to be a must-see for Star Wars fans? Andy says… Yes! On the big screen, Creed III starring and directed by Michael B. Jordan is an emotional and great addition to the Rocky-Creed series. In theaters as well is the surprisingly good action comedy Operation Fortune, but with Guy Ritchie at the directorial helm, we should have expected that. Over on Amazon Prime Video, we have a best-selling book turned series with Daisy Jones and The Six. And on CBS/ParamountPlus, a movie turned series, True Lies, debuts with an imperfect but enjoyable start for a broadcast-type tv show. As for the kids, Netflix's new animated series  Karate Sheep gives some strong classic Looney Tunes vibes with no dialogue and lots of sight gags family-friendly fun.  Beyond Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Gaming, and Tech, the brains behind Fan Effect are connoisseurs of categories surpassing the nerdy. Brilliant opinions and commentary on all things geek, but surprising knowledge and witty arguments over pop culture, Star Trek, MARVEL vs. DC, and a wide range of movies, TV shows, and more. Welcome to March everyone. Can you believe how fast this year has rocketed by? For today's pod Mike, Matt, and Ma Hinshaw chat about a film that is tearing up the box office Cocaine Bear directed by Elizabeth Banks. Not drug related animal topics include 8K, Movie Pass sucks again, and a new incredible Blu-ray giveaway. This movie is exactly what we wanted, just not enough of it. Cocaine Bear is a high dollar B-movie with A-list stars and an amazing CGI bear. The biggest problem with this film is they did not push the boundaries harder. There are some really great over the top scenes and humor but they are too few and far between. Another big issue is the amount of stories in this film. There are a ton of characters, which is great, but they all have these pretty intricate stories. Why, why are there so many? A handful at best but better developed really would improve this film.  Matt and Mike both agree this is a wait until it's streaming kinda movie. It is a ton of fun and if you want to go to the theaters please do but it's not a must see film. Mike awards Cocaine Bear 2.5 out of 5 Reels. Matt is just a smidge lower with 2 out of 5 Reels. Of course we can't forget Ma Hinshaw who just loves pretty much anything, she awards the movie 3.5 out of 5 cookies.   Next week Mike, Matt, and even Ma continue their theater going run with Guy Ritchie's latest film Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre starring Jason Statham. Josh Hartnett was the biggest heartthrob of the late nineties. Bursting onto the scene in Robert Rodriguez's The Faculty, his status was reaffirmed by Halloween H20 and Sofia Coppola's The Virgin Suicides. However, his career hit its stride in the early 2000s when he became a leading man in movies like Michael Bay's Pearl Harbor, Ridley Scott's Black Hawk Down and more. Yet, towards the middle of the decade, his career started to cool after a string of flops. He disappeared from the scene for a few years, only to return in the cult series Penny Dreadful. Recently, he's seemed on the cusp of a significant comeback following a scene-stealing turn in Guy Ritchie's Wrath of Man, with him set to star in the follow-up, Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, while he's also in Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer. Join us in this episode of WTF Happened to this Celebrity as we dig into his surprisingly epic career.

Rosalind's guest this week has a strong pedigree in the hospitality industry and shares with her some of the lessons he's learned in his experience through the years. Piers Adam became one of the biggest names in bars and nightclubs in London in the 2000s but has in recent years. years turned his attention to Scotland. Having run famous venues such as Mahiki, The Punch bowl with Guy Ritchie, Whisky Mist and others, Piers has had his fair share of experience when it comes to opening businesses and making them successful. On this episode of Scran you'll hear Piers tell Rosalind about how he came to discover The Craigellachie and to buy it, building up a business which put the community at the heart of it. He describes this as his most joyous and rewarding project ever. Piers also discusses the thought and care that has gone into this business as well as confirming the near legendary status of their opening party which hosted such famous faces as Kate Moss, Noel Gallagher and Bobby Gillespie.  Piers offers some great insight to the hospitality industry and what he sees as being the future of an industry that is being crippled by costs. He also discusses the famous Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival and how The Craigellachie has come to be somewhat of a centre of the festival. Learn more about your ad choices.
