Randy and Jake are back! After a health related hiatus, the boys have returned to talk all things Arizona State baseball. This relaunch episode is a preview of what will be coming during the 2025 season.

The Legends of Packard Podcast is back with a two-for-one special! Legendary ASU father-son duo Kevin and Andrew Romine join the show to talk about their careers and what the dynamic was like for Andrew to follow in the footsteps of his dad. Kevin is ASU's all-time leader in career batting average and stolen bases, winning a national title in 1981. Andrew twice played in the College World Series and he tells us all about his scary injure in 2006 and how it not only almost ended his baseball career, but his life.

In the Season Three Season Premiere Jake and Randy welcome Brady Rodgers to the show. One of the best Sun Devil hurlers in the last 20 years, Brady talks about how he set his sights on Arizona State despite interest from nearly every school in Texas. He shares his experience playing in both the Little League World Series and the College World Series and also gives credit to Ken Knutson for making him the dominant Pac-10 pitcher he was.

With Willie Bloomquist being introduced as the new head baseball coach of Arizona State, Jake and Randy got together to share their thoughts on the end of the Tracy Smith era and the Bloomquist hiring.

The Pac-12's all-time leader in Runs Batted In, Andrew Beinbrink put together one of the best careers in Sun Devil Baseball history. He joins Jake and Randy to talk about his Sun Devil career, why he chose Arizona State over Stanford and why the Sun Devil Baseball fraternity means so much to him to this day.

The First Lady of Arizona State Baseball, Patsey Brock visits with Jake and Randy to talk about her life with ASU baseball. The widow of legendary Sun Devils Coach Jim Brock talks about how the journey began with a six-month contract in 1972 and culminated with two National Championships, 14 trips to Omaha and a place in the College Baseball Hall of Fame. Mrs. Brock had a front row seat to some of the greatest teams in ASU history, and she shares her favorite stories from her 22 years with Coach Brock and the Sun Devils.

If you asked members of ASU's 1984 College World Series team who their favorite teammate was, the name you might hear most often is Louie Medina. The hard-hitting first baseman from California was the glue guy on one of the best teams in ASU history and has remained close with many of his teammates. He joins Jake and Randy to talk about some of his favorite memories, how he risked the wrath of the California Highway Patrol to sign his Letter of Intent with Jim Brock and why a severed goat head reminds him of Tucson.

College Baseball Hall of Famer and 1965 College World Series Most Valuable Player

He arrived in Tempe as a 17-year old who wanted to walk-on to the top college baseball program in the nation. He left Arizona State as an All-American and an All-Pac-10 performer who played in a College World Series and shared an outfield with Barry Bonds and Oddibe McDowell. It is Arizona State's own "Rudy", Todd Brown. Todd joins Jake and Randy to talk about his outstanding Sun Devil career, tell some Barry Bonds stories and discuss his journey from upstate New York to Packard Stadium.

Former Arizona State pitching coach and longtime University of Washington Head Coach Ken Knutson stops by to talk about his pitching philosophy with Randy and his former protege Jake. "Snake" shares what it was like for him to join one of the best programs in the country after so many years at a rival school, how it felt to finally make it to Omaha and how he knew Tim Lincecum would be special back when he was only 14 years old.

Former Director of Baseball Operations and Current Arizona Diamondbacks Vice President of Special Projects and Fan Experience Graham Rossini joins the show to talk about his time with the program. Graham came to ASU hoping to walk on to the baseball team and ended up as one of the key cogs in the well-oiled Sun Devil baseball machine for seven seasons. He talks about his special relationship with Coach Murphy, what his role with the program was and how he and some teammates once shut down traffic on Mill Avenue on a busy Friday night.

In 1984, Oddibe McDowell put together perhaps the greatest offensive season in Sun Devil history on his way to the Golden Spikes Award. The legendary "O" joins the show to talk about how an unanswered letter to the University of Miami led him to Arizona State, why his teammates still mean more to him than anything and what the favorite moment in Tempe was. The College Baseball Hall of Famer also clears up once and for all whether it was the number 0 or the letter O that was retired by ASU in 1989.

The all-time Sun Devil leader in innings caught, Tuffy Gosewisch joins Jake and Randy to relive his days in Maroon and Gold. Tuffy talks about "The Balk", following in his brother Chip's footsteps and his grind through the Minor Leagues that ultimately paid off with a Major League call-up. He also breaks some news about his professional baseball career.

When searching through the ASU Baseball record books, you will see Kendall Carter's name throughout the pitching section. Single season wins (19), career wins (47), innings pitched (427.1), appearances (102). Carter was a true workhorse, leading the Sun Devils to the 1981 National Championship along with two more trips to Omaha. He shares his favorite ASU memories with Jake and Randy and reveals that Oddibe McDowell could've been the Pac-10 Wrestling Champ as well as the Golden Spikes winner.

A perfect game. A National Player of the Year Award. Two National Runner-Up finishes in Omaha. The all-time strikeout king at ASU. Oh yeah, he was also responsible for the drafting of Mike Trout by the Angels. There isn't much College Baseball Hall of Famer Eddie Bane hasn't seen or done in baseball, and he stopped by the show to share some of his baseball wisdom and experiences with Jake and Randy.

Travis Buck, a key member of the 2005 College World Series team and a first round pick in the MLB Draft joins Jake and Randy to discuss his time in Tempe. Travis talks about his favorite memories from that unforgettable run to Omaha in 2005, what it was like playing for Murph both in college and the pros and what really happened at UCLA with the infamous Triple Play. He also gives an update on Boise State baseball and where his career goes from here.

The legendary Bob Horner returns to the podcast to give his take on the "State of the Program". The 1978 Golden Spike Award Winner talks about what he expects from Arizona State Baseball and why where the program stands today is unacceptable to him. It's an unfiltered and honest discussion with one of the greatest to ever wear the Maroon and Gold about what can be done to return the program to its former glory.

A member of the 1967 National Champions, Jeff Pentland played for Bobby Winkles and was an assistant under Jim Brock. He was road roommates with Reggie Jackson and tutored Barry Bonds. A member of the 2002 Arizona State Athletics Hall of Fame class, Pentland sits down with Jake and Randy to talk about how he ended up at ASU as player, how he came back as a coach and why ASU played such an important role in his life.

In part two, Murph opens up about what really happened with the NCAA and the day he found out he was no longer the head coach at ASU. He also talks about some of his favorite players, memories and why Arizona State is still a big part of his life. He also tells us the origins of how "Back In Your Arms Again" became the unofficial Packard Stadium postgame anthem.

Murph. From 1995 to 2009 he skippered the ASU Baseball program in his own unique way. Some loved him, some hated him, but no one can deny the impact he had on the program. In part one, he tells Jake and Randy how he got to Arizona State, opens up about mistakes he made and why Dustin Pedroia changed the program and the way people scout baseball.

The Voice of the Sun Devils, Tim Healey, stops by to share his stories from the broadcast booth. Heals has called ASU Baseball on the radio for more than 20 years and relives some of his favorite moments. Tim also tells Jake and Randy who his favorite all-time interviews are and who he thinks are the best players he's ever seen in a Sun Devil uniform.

Alvin Davis, the 1982 Pac-10 Player of the Year and a member of the 1981 National Champions joins Jake and Randy to go down memory lane. AD talks about how much Coach Brock did for his family and his lasting legacy on Alvin, his favorite teammates and why the 1981 team was so special.

The only player to win back-to-back Triple Crowns in Pac-10 history, Wallace talks about how Pat Murphy shaped him as a player and why beating Arizona was his favorite thing.

Jake and Randy welcome their first guest to the podcast, two-time Sun Devil team captain and the only man to win four Pac-10 Championships in Arizona State Baseball history, Raoul Torrez. In this two-part special, Randy and Jake discuss how they found out, what and when the players on the team knew, and how exactly Ez ended up back with ASU. In Part Two, we pick up just before the team found out who their coach would be in 2010 and why Tim Esmay was the right man for the job.
