Locked On White Sox - Daily Podcast On The Chicago White Sox
Oscar Colas added a pair of home runs to his spring resume and Michael Kopech shined in his debut for the White Sox. The Sox had a little but of everything happen this past weekend. They beat the Chicago Cubs, lost to the San Diego Padres and tied against the Los Angeles Angels. Lucas Giolito and Michael Kopech turned in very solid outings. Kopech looked in command and controlled any first game jitters he had by throwing a perfect three innings on Sunday. Jake Burger continues to try and hit his way on the ball club. He blasted two home runs this past weekend. Up until this past weekend, Oscar Colas has had an impressive spring but zero home runs. Colas changed that on Saturday when he blasted a pinch hit home run, then followed it up with another home run run on Sunday. Pedro Grifol brought in many of the coaches that round out his staff. Locked On White Sox - Daily Podcast On The Chicago White Sox
The Chicago White Sox got their first win of the spring and Jake Burger hit another massive home run. Burger hit a 6th inning bomb to dead center. It was his second home run of the spring. His power has never been in question but his defensive inabilities have left him on the outside looking in. Burger has been playing first base this spring and his hoping to force his way on the roster. With the help of Burger's blast and 15 hits in total, the White Sox beat the Seattle Mariners on Monday by a score of 10-1. Yasmani Grandal had a pair of hits, as did Andrew Vaughn. Oscar Colas saw action as well. Colas has played in every game so far. Sox used seven pitchers and starter, Jesse Scholtens, was the only Sox arm to give up a run. White Sox cleaned things up defensively and also practiced some plate discipline. Sox only struck out five times on Monday while also drawing five walks. Anyone who has watched many State of the Union speeches would recognize the genius in the writing & delivery of President Joe Bidens address and performance. He goaded the Republicans like no other. President Joe Biden's speech was well written. What made the address great was that it was not a defensive oration. The administration wrote the speech assertively. It did not fall into fighting on the turf Republicans would like to fight on but on American bread and butter issues. I want to be precise. Joe Biden is a moderate who likes to play things down the middle. While he delivered the speech from the middle, its content was much more to the liking of Progressives than his delivery would indicate. We will discuss many of these in subsequent blogs. Republicans, in the aggregate, have no viable policies for poor and middle-class Americans. If you doubt it, watch the Republican response by Sarah Huckabee Sanders. She stayed focused on false controversies but offered no policies that solved any of the current problems Americans are suffering through. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/politicsdoneright/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/politicsdoneright/support

Has Toledo head coach Jason Candle emerged as the top candidate for the Miami Hurricanes offensive coordinator job? Frank Tucker from Canes County (Miami Rivals site) has reported that Candle has interviewed with Mario Cristobal and might even be negotiating a contract. Candle has been with the Toledo Rockets since 2009, serving as their head coach since 2015. His offenses are among the more productive and most balanced in America. Host Alex Donno loves the idea of Candle getting the job, but reminds people that a report about him being in the mix does not mean this is a done deal. Donno explains why Candle is among his very favorite options, while also warning of his lack of power five coaching experience. Would Candle leave his head coaching job to become Miami's OC? Locked On Giants – Daily Podcast On The San Francisco Giants
Are the San Francisco Giants really going to be a top home-run-hitting team in 2023? Farhan Zaidi recently said as much, but does his prediction figure to come true? The SF Giants set a franchise record for home runs in 2021, and despite some narrative to the contrary, they weren't a bad power-hitting team in 2022. Their additions of Michael Conforto and Mitch Haniger figure to add many more home runs to the mix, so it's not at all hard to envision the 2023 Giants being a top power-hitting team. Going into Year Five of the Farhan Zaidi era, is it playoffs or bust? Will Zaidi be around for a sixth season if the Giants have another disappointing season in 2023? He probably won't be fired, especially if other things go right, but certainly the rope starts to get a lot shorter. If the Giants have a poor 2023 season and follow it up with one to three more disappointing seasons afterwards, Zaidi might not stick around. But the Giants value continuity, and Zaidi showed in 2021 what he's capable of. Developing young talent will be the most important thing moving forward. What will it take to get Shohei Ohtani next offseason? Reports are that Ohtnai still prefers the West coast, which puts the Giants in a good starting position. Aaron Judge seemingly set the market for superstar players this offseason when he collected $40 million per year over nine years from the Yankees. It's not hard to imagine Ohtani also getting $40 million per year, but he will be a couple of years younger than Judge was at the time of his free agency. In that case, something like 11 years at $40M per year seems possible (that would come out to $440 million in total). Find and follow Locked On Giants on your favorite podcast platforms:
On today's episode, Jason gets the party started by quickly discussing that infamous Seattle Seahawks haircut we saw him sporting Tuesday morning on The Herd. It seemed like a good bet before the season that the Seahawks would be one of the worst teams in the NFL, but thanks in large part to former New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith, Seattle surprised a lot of people and ultimately caused our fearless to go viral. Later, J-Mac dives deep into the Denver Broncos decision to name Sean Payton as their next head coach. The price was steep but Payton still looks like a home run hire for Denver; If anyone can fix whatever ailed Russell Wilson last season, it's Payton. People forget that before last season Denver was projected to be a double-digit win team because their roster was so loaded with talent. With Payton running the show, the Broncos should absolutely be a playoff team in 2023. Finally, Jason closes the show with a few thoughts on the Los Angeles Lakers' overtime victory over the New York Knicks. LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Rui Hachimura looked pretty formidable along the front line, but more importantly, the Lakers showed that they have enough talent up and down the roster to make a deep playoff run. Ronald Acuña Jr's first full season with the Atlanta Braves was nothing short of spectacular. In 2019 Acuña led the league in plate appearances, runs scored, stolen bases with 37, and hit 41 Homeruns to top it all off. 2020 was a shortened season, then Acuña injured his knee in 2021, which cut his season to 82 games. In those 82 games, Acuña hit 24 Homeruns and stole 17 bases, roughly the same pace he was on in 2019. In 2022 Acuña hit 15 homeruns and stole 29 bases in 119 games as he was still recovering from the knee injury he suffered in 2021, a career season for some. Not only has Ronald Acuña said publicly that he is returning to his 2019 self in 2023, but Braves Manager Brian Snitker believes this too: "when he comes to spring training, he's going to be a full go" Snitker told Randy McMichael and Chris Thomas. Can Ronald Acuña Jr become the 5th member of the 40-40 club in 2023? If what Snitker says about Acuña "still growing" is true, 50-50 may be in the cards.

The show was done at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY, and the guest was a former NYC policeman, former US Marine, practicing attorney, singer/songwriter, and a person in long terms recovery. He once hit a 'home run for recovery' at Yankee Stadium. He has a fascinating story and will sing a few of his original songs. Then we hear from actor Russell Brand, with his reflections on being clean and sober for 20 years! And always remember ... there is a free National Helpline, which is confidential, 24/7, 365-day-a-year treatment referral and information service (in English and Spanish) for individuals and families facing mental and/or substance use disorders. 1-800-622-HELP!
In the opening hour of the show the guys discuss why they believe the Astros hit a home run hiring Dana Brown as their new GM, the Broncos reportedly stepping up their pursuit of DeMeco Ryans, what they make of Cal McNair's comments on the coaching search, and they go through some of the day's biggest NFL headlines during Around the League.
Bobby Burton and Eric Nahlin discuss how much Texas football has improved under Steve Sarkisian, if Chris Jackson is a home run hire & more on this week's State of the Program! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Locked On Baylor - Daily Podcast On Baylor Bears Football & Basketball
Matt Powledge has been hired by Baylor and Dave Aranda as the Bears' defensive coordinator. This is a really, really good hire, but it's not quite the home run Baylor fans hoped for. Powledge is young and unproven. While that could result in recruiting success and a meteoric rise as the defensive play caller, it still leaves question marks. Powledge needs to light the recruiting game on fire. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! LinkedIn LinkedIn jobs helps you find the candidates you want to talk to, faster.
