Kyle Tucker was in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 15, playing in an unforgettable MLB All-Star Game. Just over a month later, Tucker finds himself headed to the bench amidst a cacophony of boos. The All-Star has not been putting up All-Star type numbers. He has been hitting a dismal .160 average in August and has not hit a home run since July 19. Tucker hopes to hit a reset and figure a way out of the slump from the dugout as the Cubs, who currently lead the NL Wild Card race, look to make a push for the postseason. Jake Mintz and Jordan Shusterman discuss the lead-up to this benching and how Tucker and the Cubs can figure out a way forward. “I've never seen anything like this from a Brewers team” is a strong statement, especially coming from Milwaukee Brewers and Turner Sports broadcaster, Brian Anderson. Anderson joins the show and chats with Jake and Jordan about the magical season the Brewers are having thus far. What is it about this team that makes them different from everyone else? Anderson talks about what he is seeing out of Brewers' manager Pat Murphy and how he has seen him change over time. Finally, they discuss Christian Yelich and the leadership role he now plays in the clubhouse.Later on in the show, the guys fill you in on what is happening Around The League. Send us a textThree-quarters of the season is in the books. It means you can add about 1/3 of a player's current stats to project what will be the season ending total. Pete Alonso broke Darryl Strawberry's #Mets HR record hitting his 253rd last week. That means the amazing #Mariners Cal Raleigh is just behind pace to hit 60 home runs. But he still is on track to have the greatest offensive season for a catcher in #MLB history. #Dodgers Shohei Ohtani hit both a home run and hit into a triple play last week. It wasn't the 1st time it happened as in 2001 #Red Sox Scott Hatterberg had both a grand slam and hit in a triple play in one game. #Orioles Brandon Young had a perfect game broken up by an infield hit in the 8th inning last week. He threw the ball wildly and could have been charged with an error but wasn't. #Brewers had won 14 in a row before Sunday with some coming in unusual ways. Down 8-1 to the #Reds on Friday they came back to win. And on Saturday they tied the game in the 9th and won it in the 10th. The magic finally ran out on Monday and manager Pat Murphy may just keep on eating those pocket pancakes. Pickoffs were not really a part of #baseball until the 1890's when the rubber was moved to its current location of 60 feet 6 inches. But modified rules like coming to a full stop for one second before throwing a pitch did not come into play until 1950. We talk about who has the most pickoffs, most balks, and why baseball should keep the balk rule even if umpires don't always understand it! Intro & Outro music this season courtesy of Mercury Maid! Jed Hoyer make a few solid moves at the deadline but botched any chance of fixing the Cubs biggest pitching problem, and so his Cubs find themselves staring up at the Brewers and their pocket pancake loving manager Mat Purphy...or Pat Murphy, whatever. Oleg and Praz are here to talk about it, and we provide a much better name than "pocket pancake." We discuss if there are any Brewers position players who would start on the Cubs, and give Praz some bad news about Justin Turner. We also learn that Turner and Petecrow did a very nice thing for some Japanese newlyweds they met in Tokyo back in March. We make fun of Thumbo and complain about how Marquee fails to cover key moments in games, and how the Cubs came so close to flawlessly pulling off their weekend of tributes to Ryne Sandberg only to completely fuck up the thing they promoted the most. All that, and more.
College football is inching closer to a collective bargaining model. And with it comes big changes: transfer limits, regulated agents, and incentive-based contracts. But will that just bring back the bag men? We break it down. The NFL sold NFL Media, including NFL Network and RedZone, to ESPN in exchange for equity. But there's one problem…Trump could still block the deal. Plus: • MLB's “Speedway Classic” in Bristol was a total disaster. Think Fyre Fest, but with bunless hot dogs and no cheese for nachos. • A Portland Pickles “fan” hits a home run and the internet smells a work. • Brewers manager Pat Murphy keeps pancakes and pizza slices in his pants. • The WNBA has a dildo problem and we're officially in weird territory. • Ohio wants to kill prop bets. • Smelling salts are banned in the NFL. • And tennis gets its own reality dating show at the US Open.

Wisconsin two active sports teams put on two different types of fireworks displays over the weekend.
