Today on Valentine in the Morning:Everyone had an eventful weekend! Val celebrated his mom's birthday, Jon somehow ended up at a secret Maroon 5 pop-up show, and Jill braved the crowds and deep-fried Oreos at the OC Fair. Then we took a trip down memory lane and asked: what was the “in” item when you were heading back to school? Was it a pencil box, a pair of fresh white sneaks, or that one backpack everyone had to have? And finally, it's a full-on pop culture royal rumble as we try to figure out if Taylor Swift is going to perform at the Super Bowl this year. Are the rumors true? Should she do it? Or is she better off cheering from the suite next to Mama Kelce?

The DJ from the opening act ventured over to their section and sat with the Bonfire gang when his set was over. | Bobby recalls when Dane Cook said that comic Steve Byrne stole his essence and possibly his Maroon 5 style of dress. | Bob got pulled over for a warrant from a crime he committed 30 years ago involving lustful actions at lover's lane. Renel Jordan has quietly built a legacy in the music industry, contributing as a ghost producer and co-writer on some of the most recognizable tracks in pop, R&B, and hip-hop. With collaborations tied to stars like Flo Rida, Justin Bieber, and Chris Brown, Renel played a behind-the-scenes role in crafting global hits — always choosing to remain anonymous due to personal family trauma. By operating under strict anonymity in contracts and public credits, he protected his peace, valuing privacy over fame. His creative fingerprints can be found on major releases, including: Maroon 5 – “It Was Always You,” “Coming Back for You”Demi Lovato – “Heart Attack,” “Made in the USA,” “Two Pieces,” “Never Been Hurt”Selena Gomez – “Forget Forever,” “Save the Day”David Guetta – “Dangerous,” “Lovers on the Sun”Nick Jonas – “Chains,” “Teacher”Zendaya – “Butterflies,” “Bottle You Up”Wale – “On Chill” (Producer) Renel's talent for blending genres — from synth-driven pop to melodic rap — speaks to his unmatched ear and storytelling instinct. His work has earned multiple Grammy nominations and the respect of industry insiders. After stepping back from the spotlight, Renel turned his focus to education, driven by a desire to impact lives more directly. He became an advocate for students with behavioral challenges, helping them shift their perspectives through creativity and mentorship. Through Douglas County's 21st Century Grant Program, he developed innovative teaching methods — including using beat-making and music production to teach math — making learning both accessible and exciting for struggling students. From ghostwriting hits to transforming classrooms, Renel Jordan continues to lead with purpose, passion, and a deep belief in the power of art to heal and inspire.

Hanna Nicole was kind enough to join me for Episode No. 176. She is a daughter, a sibling, a model, an influencer, an entrepreneur, and she is also the brand manager for Health X Fitness, a clothing brand that specializes in athletic/lounge wear for women. When we sat down a couple of Saturdays ago, we talked about family, growing up in a small town, being the oldest of five kids, joining the armed forces as a parachute rigger, transitioning back to life after services, the launch and the learning curve of getting her modeling career off the ground, and -- wouldn't ya' know -- we talked a little bit about some of Hanna's favorite tunes as well. For this particular conversation we strayed from the Badass Records podcast norm, and went with a playlist that Hanna curated under the guise of giving me a snapshot of her influences. It varied in both style and genre, and featured nearly 40 total tracks from more than two dozen artists, including Morgan Wallen, Polo G, Rod Wave, Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Fergie, P!nk, Hannah Montana, Dan + Shay, and Maroon 5, just to name a few.I appreciated the opportunity to approach an interview from a different perspective, and enjoyed checking out what she aptly titled, Podcast Music.Having said all of that, here are the digital-world pertinents from my conversation with Hanna Nicole:she's on Instagram at @hannn.nicccHealth X Fitness's handle is @hxf.apparel@lavishpicnicskc is a spot for you to check out as wellHanna's bio/portfolio/contact info can be found at hannnicolemodel.kavyar.sitefind her making waves over on the Tok as wellThank you to Hanna for the share of her valuable time and her effort in creating the playlist, and thank you to you for supporting the podcast.copyright disclaimer: I do not own the rights to the audio content contained within this episode.
