Remember the 90s? Let's all head back there with some slacker comedies from 1994. First up, we learn what college is really like on those liberal campuses with all the protesting in PCU. Then, we try to overtake the media in the name of metal in AIRHEADS.
In this heated and often hilarious episode, Niall opens the phone lines to listeners with one thing in common—they've all been clamped. Whether caught overstaying in a private car park or parking illegally on city streets, they share their stories of frustration, fury, and, in some cases, acceptance. Some callers vent about predatory private clamping companies, sky-high release fees, and the feeling of being “targeted for profit.” Others argue that clamping is a necessary evil—a tool to keep roads safe, footpaths clear, and ensure people respect the rules. Is clamping about enforcing law and order—or squeezing money from already-stretched drivers? Should there be more warning and leniency, or are we too soft as it is?Niall keeps the debate rolling with humour and sharp questions, asking:Is clamping fair? Or is it time for a new approach to parking enforcement in Ireland?Have you ever been clamped? You're not alone.Tune in for tales of rage, regret, and real talk from drivers on both sides of the wheel.
In this eye-opening episode, Sarah exposes a troubling business model that's exploiting coaches in our industry. She reveals how one company is selling coaching services for just £49.99 for four hours of coaching per month (that's £12.50 per session!) while paying their coaches absolutely nothing. This isn't pro bono work – it's exploitation disguised as "opportunity."Key Points Discussed:The Shocking Business Model:The Setup: A coaching company selling 4 hours of monthly coaching for £49.99 (including VAT)The Math: That's just £12.50 per hour session, or £10.42 without VATThe Reality: Coaches receive zero payment – not even an associate feeThe Clients: Include household-name organisations that should know betterWhy This MattersProfessional Devaluation: When coaching costs "less than a pizza," it undermines the entire professionExploitation of Vulnerability: Takes advantage of new coaches desperate to build hours for accreditationMarket Impact: Organisations paying below minimum wage for professional services sets a dangerous precedentThe LinkedIn Poll ResultsSarah's community spoke loud and clear:90% found the practice exploitative5% deemed it acceptable5% had other concernsThe Vulnerability FactorWhy do coaches fall for this? Sarah reveals the "dark underbelly" of our profession:Lack of Transparency: Coaching schools don't explain the scarcity of employed opportunitiesMissing Skills: New coaches aren't taught client acquisition – the essential complementary skillsetFalse Expectations: Students expect clients to come easily post-certificationDesperation: Struggling coaches become vulnerable to exploitationThe Bigger PictureThis isn't just about one company – it's part of a larger pattern of advantage-taking in the coaching industry, from:"Six figures in 90 days" charlatans charging tens of thousandsCompanies that promise to sell your coaching but never pay youSarah's PositionThis is NOT pro bono coaching because:The client is payingThe company is profitingOnly the coaches work for freeTrue pro bono coaching:Serves those who couldn't otherwise afford coachingShould come after coaches have covered their financial basesDoesn't involve a middleman profiting from free labourDiscussion QuestionsHow do we better prepare new coaches for the business realities of coaching? What responsibility do coaching schools have to set realistic expectations? How can we protect vulnerable coaches from exploitative practices? What constitutes fair compensation for professional coaching services?Resources:

Send us a textThe path to authentic spiritual freedom is filled with unexpected detours, false prophets, and powerful awakenings. Theresa Marie opens this deeply personal episode by revealing the 38-year journey between receiving a divine mission and finally having the courage to fulfill it. Back in 1987, she experienced a vivid lucid dream instructing her to transparently share her messy spiritual journey, showing that divine love persists even through our most chaotic chapters. After decades of resistance, she's finally embraced this calling. With remarkable candor, Theresa details her "Jerry Springer ringer life" – from substance abuse and tumultuous relationships to her experiences within four different cult environments. Rather than hiding these struggles, she recognizes them as the very credentials that allow her to guide others through similar terrain. Her story powerfully illustrates how our greatest wounds often become our most valuable teaching tools. As we navigate what many call the Great Awakening – a global energetic shift accelerating consciousness expansion – Theresa warns of the shadow side of spiritual seeking. She expertly dissects how our most natural human desires for belonging, acceptance, and purpose can be weaponized against us by those with exploitative intentions. Drawing from painful personal experience, she identifies the psychological patterns that make even the most discerning seekers vulnerable to manipulation, particularly those carrying childhood trauma or fear of isolation. The episode culminates in a profound reminder that true spiritual authority always resides within. "Give your own insight, what's happening inside your body, mind and soul, more credence than anything," Theresa urges, "because that is where the truth is – right inside your own gut." In a world overflowing with external guidance, perhaps the most revolutionary act is learning to trust yourself again. We are back for episode 241 where we look at an entirely different type of "mind crime". We start off with 1982's "The Clairvoyant" also known as "The Killing Hour". This focuses on an artist who has violent dreams that seem to be depicting a series of murders around the city. It's a totally solid thriller with a truly surprising twist at the end. We follow that with a real rarity, a film from 1992 called "Small Kill". It features a surprising lead performance from none other than MASH's own Radar O'Reilly, Gary Burghoff as a murderous pedophile and extortionist. It's good, grim stuff with mostly solid performances and plenty of scenes that will completely skeeve you out. We recommend both movies very highly. Today, I have the pleasure of speaking with Elizabeth Clubb, Founder and CEO of myFloc, an innovative fintech company addressing the unique financial needs of the aging population and their families. Prior to myFloc, Elizabeth was President and Chief Strategy Officer at an innovation and growth consultancy serving Fortune 500 clients across a broad range of industries. Elizabeth is on the Board of Directors of Lenbrook, a nationally renowned Continuing Care Retirement Community, where she serves on the Strategic Planning Committee and the Marketing Committee. She is an active member of the AARP Agetech Collaborative and The Business Collaborative for Brain Health and an Advisory Board member of The Famtech Collaborative. Across our society, there are lately more conversations about and recognition of the impact of age on financial decision-making and the associated risks. Elizabeth talks about how the topic is being broached and addressed in the wealth management space in general, and in the world of wealthy families and family offices in particular. A related, and unfortunately relevant and frequent, topic is financial fraud targeting older people. Elizabeth describes the latest trends and developments in the space and elaborates on how the threats and risks evolving are and how the risk-management, education and protection strategies and tactics are developing to respond to those threats. One practical tip Elizabeth offers is that, in addition to all the technical and quantitative solutions and strategies, families and their family offices should also focus on the human element of fraud prevention – specifically, talking to and educating family members about fraud sooner than later. She shares the best practices and approaches for families she has observed in that area. Finally, she provides her top list of useful fraud prevention tools for families and family offices that can help them protect family members from financial exploitation. Please enjoy this highly informative conversation with a leading expert and practitioner specializing in the unique financial needs and risks among the elderly and their families.

3 state agencies are responsible for taking and investigating allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Those agencies are the Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS), the Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), and the Department of Children and Families (DCF). These agencies may refer alleged perpetrators to 3 state licensure boards: the Board of Healing Arts, the Board of Nursing, and the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board. The state's process for investigating allegations and identifying perpetrators is complicated and fragmented. State law is also unclear about agencies' responsibilities. We found KDADS and DCF keep registries of perpetrators, but KDHE does not. KDHE doesn't investigate allegations of ANE because KDHE officials believe they lack the authority to do so. We also identified issues with how agencies refer allegations to each other. These issues suggest not all suspected perpetrators get investigated and that agencies' registries may be incomplete.

We have really enjoyed what we have seen from Zach Creggers. Barbarian was fantastic and Weapons looks like it is going to be great. But what could he do with a video game movie? Especially one with as passionate of a fan base as Resident Evil. Well, as long as he sticks the lore he should be alright.Another long running horror property is the Amityville series. It lost the plot a long time ago - there have been comedies, stories about government conspiracies, and even a dildo movie. But it is still chugging along. The news that Johnathan and Vanessa Winters are taking a stab at an original Amityville is the most exciting thing to happen to the franchise in decades. But is it more exciting than the announcement surrounding the next Robert Eggers movie?Film fests give up a chance to cover short films. On this show, we talk about Shrimp Fried Rice, the story of a renowned chef who is about to face his biggest nemesis. It is an outrageous tale that is a reminder of everything we love about genre movies. It is laugh out loud funny and a nice change of pace.Baba Yaga from 1973 is much more serious. Arguably, it is too serious. But, it is also self-aware which makes it much more palatable. The film is unabashedly arthouse, name dropping Fellini while mixing animation and psychedelia. There also seems to be a message about consumerism and why supposed intellectuals are not as smart as they think they are. It is also a straight up horror movie with a witch, creepy S&M doll, and a whole lot of nudity. It is an intriguing, if not always entertaining, watch. It is a strange mix that is confusing, but also hard to turn away from. As if it is casting a spell on you…A surprisingly short lived trend was social media horror. Even to this day, there are plenty of movies made about it, but nothing has seemed to catch fire in a big way. So while Friend Request is not covering new ground, it also does not feel derivative. It is also really good; so why isn't it more popular? For everything it does right, the writing constantly does things to hold it back. It is inconsistent and overly complicated. It feels like they kept every idea they had. The end result is scary and surprisingly effective, but there are also many moments that just feel off. It also has one of the worst types of endings. It's episode 350. What better way to celebrate than reviewing three awesome movies? First up, zombies ruin everyone's pub time in SHAUN OF THE DEAD. Then, a small town has something very wrong in HOT FUZZ. Finally, a bar crawl turns into a war with aliens in THE WORLD'S END.
Trump still hasn't released the Epstein client list, the very list he promised to expose during his presidential campaign. He said the swamp would be drained and that the elite pedophiles would face justice. But the victims are still waiting. This isn't oversight. It's betrayal. Why is Trump suddenly acting like an Israeli ambassador? Why are American leaders more loyal to a foreign state than to their own people, and their own children?Justice delayed is justice denied, and we need to keep the pressure on until Trump becomes even more of a "panican" about this.No more Kash Patel. No more hiding behind “ongoing investigations.” No more delays. Fire Pam Bondi and whoever else is obstructing the truth.Epstein's victims deserve justice. And if Trump won't deliver it then, again, we will.—https://policecoffee.com/collections/coffee

When OpenAI was training GPT-3, the predecessor to ChatGPT, they discovered their model regurgitated the worst parts of the internet—racism, violence, abuse, and more. Their solution? Outsource the cleanup to Kenyan workers earning less than $2 per hour.

Join Jim and Greg for the Friday 3 Martini Lunch as they close the week by focusing on former Sec. of State John Kerry lurching to the truth about the border, the left's incessant lying about ICE personnel and operations, and the latest oddities in the New York City mayor's race.First, they are truly stunned to hear common sense coming from John Kerry. In an interview, Kerry said the southern border was "under siege" during the Biden years and that "Trump was right" that you cannot have a nation without protecting the border. Jim finds it fascinating that these comments would have made Kerry a pariah in his own party if he said them last year.Next, they break down ICE's recent raids on Glass House cannabis farms in California, where authorities found numerous illegal workers, including unaccompanied minors. But instead of outrage at the exploitation, Democrats like Gov. Gavin Newsom and media outlets attack ICE for enforcing the law. Jim pushes back on the narrative painting lawbreakers as victims and federal officers as villains. Finally, they dissect the latest twists in the New York City mayoral race. Despite losing the Democratic primary, Andrew Cuomo remains eligible for the November ballot. Meanwhile, Mayor Eric Adams is now polling in fourth place, behind socialist Zohran Mamdani, a hypothetical Cuomo run, and Republican Curtis Sliwa. Please visit our great sponsors:Manage your workplace stress with Better Help. “A faithful man will abound with blessings, but whoever hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.” - Proverbs 28:20Powerball jackpots and scratch-off tickets might seem like a shortcut to financial freedom, but should Christians be buying in? Dr. David W. Jones returns to our financial ethics series today to help us think biblically about the lottery and whether it aligns with a life of faithful stewardship.Dr. David W. Jones is Senior Professor of Christian Ethics at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He holds a Ph.D. in Christian Financial Ethics and is the author of Every Good Thing: An Introduction to the Material World and the Common Good for Christians.Quick Wealth vs. Steady StewardshipProverbs 13:11 warns, “Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.” Hebrews 13:5 exhorts believers to “keep your life free from the love of money and be content with what you have.” These passages highlight the value of work, patience, and contentment—virtues that stand in direct contrast to the quick-fix allure of lottery winnings. The lottery promises flourishing without labor, but God's design in Genesis 1 calls us to be co-creators with Him—to work, to produce, and to flourish through effort. Skipping that process isn't just unwise—it violates God's design for human flourishing. Is playing the lottery merely harmless entertainment? We should pay close attention to what our financial decisions reveal: Jesus taught, ‘Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also' (Matt. 6:21). If someone regularly spends money on lottery tickets, it could point to deeper issues—discontentment, greed, or misplaced hope.Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 23:7, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” Our actions—including how we spend—are often the most honest indicators of our spiritual condition.Entertainment or Exploitation? While scratching a ticket at a birthday party may seem harmless, there's a big difference between a one-time event and a habitual lifestyle of gambling. And even if the act is permissible, that doesn't make it wise (1 Cor. 10:23).We must also consider the industry behind the lottery. It preys upon the poor. Statistics show that the lowest-income Americans buy more than half of all lottery tickets, with some spending up to 6% of their income. In many ways, it functions like a regressive tax, taking from those who can least afford it.Some believers wonder whether it's ethical to accept scholarships or grants funded by state lotteries. Of course, there's room for Christian liberty here. Some will choose to opt-out due to conscience. Others will recognize we live in a fallen world and may receive such benefits without directly participating in the system. Either way, we should be aware of what we're engaging with and remain open before the Lord.A Better Way to FlourishIf you're feeling convicted, confess it to the Lord. ‘If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us' (1 John 1:9). And as with any area of struggle, don't walk alone. Seek accountability and encouragement through your local church.Ultimately, the Christian life invites us to a different kind of richness—one rooted not in luck or chance but in trust and obedience. As Ecclesiastes 3:13 says, “Everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God's gift to man.”For more biblical insight on wealth and stewardship, pick up Dr. David W. Eleanor Kennelly Gaetan joins Dr. Sandie Morgan to discuss the critical need for legislative reform to combat online sexual exploitation, focusing on Section 230 immunity and emerging laws like the Take It Down Act. Eleanor Kennelly Gaetan Eleanor Kennelly Gaetan is director of public policy at the National Center on Sexual Exploitation in Washington DC. She has been an advocate for stronger laws to fight sexual exploitation and has had a role in passing key anti-trafficking laws like the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act and SESTA-FOSTA, which changed Section 230 to hold tech platforms more accountable for their role in enabling sex trafficking. Key Points Human trafficking was only identified as a crime in the year 2000 with the passage of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, making it a relatively new field where small movements have achieved significant progress. Eleanor witnessed firsthand in Romania how young women were lured abroad with false promises of legitimate work, only to be trafficked into commercial sexual exploitation, highlighting the critical need for proper victim services rather than detention centers. The Take It Down Act represents a crucial breakthrough by criminalizing the uploading of non-consensual sexually explicit material for the first time and requiring platforms to provide real human help desks for removal requests within 48 hours. Image-based sexual abuse creates ongoing trauma for victims because unlike other trafficking incidents that end, having images online means "you're being raped and it's online and you can't get it down," creating continuous retraumatization. Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, passed in 1996 when the internet was nascent, provides broad immunity to internet service providers and has been interpreted by courts as creating a "wall of immunity" for social media platforms. The case against Twitter involving 13-year-old boys demonstrates how platforms monetize child exploitation material through advertising revenue while claiming Section 230 immunity protects them from liability. California's Age Appropriate Design Code represents one approach to reform by requiring companies to test products for age appropriateness before launch, using product liability law to sidestep Section 230 immunity issues. Meta tracks children's negative emotions and targets vulnerable youth with harmful content, including targeting kids who fear being "too fat" with eating disorder material, showing the deliberate exploitation of minors. Bipartisan support exists for reform, with both Democratic and Republican senators preparing to introduce a bill to repeal Section 230, recognizing that tech companies are not policing themselves effectively. The Social Media Victims Law Center currently represents over 4,000 families whose children have been harmed or killed due to social media platform irresponsibility enabled by Section 230 immunity. Congressional education on online harms has accelerated with over 24 briefings since 2019, positioning the current Congress as potentially the most informed ever on these issues. Federal guidance on best practices remains insufficient, with some jurisdictions like San Diego developing excellent collaborative models while others lack functional systems for moving victims into services. Is there a clear and deliberate agenda against men and boys in culture today? Or, is it simply a byproduct of the relative ease of modern times. My guest today, Pastor Douglas Wilson, makes the case that it's a combination of both and, more accurately, than “modern times,” a result of “wealthy times.” And, if that is the case, what should men do for ourselves and for the future of our children and this world? Today, Doug and I talk about rebuilding strength and order in our lives and instilling it in our boys, how exactly men can step up against the lunacy and degeneracy we see in modern culture, why men make inferior women and vice versa, why reality calls for us, as men, to reckon with the dangerous times in which we live, and why masculinity cannot (and, should not) be legislated away. Welcome to a new episode of Business Lunch! In this episode, Roland Frasier and Ryan Deiss tackle the controversial topic of 'shadow standards' in the workplace. They explore the ethics and implications of employees outsourcing their own jobs to other workers, often in other countries, without their employers' knowledge. The discussion touches on the legal, ethical, and practical ramifications of this growing trend and offers insights into how both employees and employers can navigate this complex landscape.Highlights:"Employees are outsourcing their jobs, effectively becoming mini-agencies themselves.""Is it deceptive if you wouldn't proudly announce what you're doing?""Good employers will always support efficiency and innovative ideas.""Outsourcing your job without transparency is setting yourself up for liability."Timestamps:00:00 - Introduction 01:12 - The Great Resignation and Quiet Quitting02:49 - Ethical Dilemma: Outsourcing Personal Jobs05:30 - Employer Perspective on Shadow Standards08:49 - Legal and Security Implications12:19 - Hypocrisy and Exploitation in Shadow Work14:41 - Building a Team Ethically and Transparently18:35 - Crucial Policies and Handbook Updates20:31 - Encouraging Transparent Efficiency23:02 - The Problem with Shadow Work24:37 - The Value of High-Level Employees30:55 - Conclusion and TakeawaysCONNECT • Ask Roland a question HERE.RESOURCES:• 7 Steps to Scalable workbook • Get my book, Zero Down, FREETo learn more about Roland Frasier
