My guest today is Jasmine Mariani, I discovered Jasmine through a friend who shared her instagram profile with me — Jasmine was seeking a place to share her journey of being diagnosed with cancer and moving through treatment, as well — arriving back into her past life after diagnosis… feeling like she had in a sense “lost” time. What struck me most about Jasmine was her desire to share the rawness of her story — the things she feels like ‘people were not talking about openly' in terms of moving through the process of cancer. At 28 years old, Jasmine was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. This episode, Part I & II is her intimate recollection on this point of time in her life story. Jasmine's perspective on her journey is truly gracious in the most humble of ways, this is one of the most inspiring conversations I have ever had. Jasmine is an architect and interior designer by trade. She recently opened a sustainable floral arrangement studio and is co partner of The Shelter Project an NGO based out of Indonesia developed ‘to support communities displaced by natural disasters —' This is Part II of the episode, if you haven't listened to Part I already I highly recommend you do so now. In this Part II of the interview we talk about; - Jasmine's second round of chemotherpay - The death of her dog, Nana (her soul mate) that would be the event to teach her acceptance in life, a point of view she carries into her journey with cancer - Adopting a Buddhist perspective throughout her adulthood - We touch again on this unlearning and relearning of communication that Jasmine went through as one of her greatest lessons - The toxic positivity (and language) around cancer - Dealing with reintegration into 'normal' life and watching everyone around her continue on with their lives - A great shift in self-awareness - Releasing relationships through her process of having cancer ... and so much more Find all the show notes and extra exclusive content on the;

Present at the birth of the ‘instagram influencer' Yasmin knew instinctively of the potential coming alive in this space and as such harnessed the potentials of her own ‘influence' as a creator. But this is more so a time line piece of the puzzle. What strikes me as the most unique aspect of Yasmin's approach, is her deep desire to have community and collaboration be at the core and ethos of what drives her creative visions. That being said, most features seek Yasmin to hear about how she has built her career… but for this episode we dig deeper and go beneath the layers. “A spiritual practice can remove us from fear” My guest today is Lebanese actor, ‘shape-shifter' Roger Azar. Hailing from Beirut, this would be the birthplace of Azar's love for acting which started in the theater. With a natural raw talent stemmed in a dedication to method acting, his career has taken on an organic evolution. In the past few years he has been part of a few incredible projects; The Sea Ahead by Ely Dagher and Copilot by Anne Zohra Berrached. Both making stances on the international film festival scene. It is not only in the realm of acting where Azar exposes his raw nature, he is a spiritual man, devoted to the evolution of his soul. From the moment I was connected with Azar we were having the most incredible conversations about life. I knew instantly that I was speaking to a very special person. This conversation comes at a poignant time as I am shifting the ethos of the podcast from women's storytelling and expanding the conversation to all walks of life - I am curious to hear of the human experience from all lenses and perspectives. In particular - ‘how one alchemises their pain into gold and cultivates listening to the deep innate wisdom that is within' In this PART ONE of the interview it is primarily an intimate conversation with Roger, sharing about his experience in a car crash in his early 20's that would come to reshape his intentions and experience of life and thus how he has chosen to move forward. Favourite Quotes: “Because that's the thing about meditation right, it's to find, again, that part of yourself that actually knows there's nothing wrong with it” “We are perfectly, imperfect” “A lot of people now are dying. Not only physically but psychologically - to themselves.” __ RESOURCES Roger Azar Instagram www.instagram.com/ruji.azar/ The Sea Ahead by Ely Dagher www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEmLabMzXo0 Copilot by Anne Zohra Berrached www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cg6GVIg4BUU Sacred Suns Men's Group www.sacredsons.com Alejandro Jodorowsky www.nytimes.com/2014/03/16/magazi…o-jodorowsky.html Jadorowsky's Dune www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0cJNR8HEw0 Dr. Gabor Maté drgabormate.com Stephen Porges, The Polyvagal Theory www.stephenporges.com The Polyvagal Theory Book Theory wwnorton.com/books/The-Polyvagal-Theory/ Muses of Bella Instagram www.instagram.com/musesofbella/?hl=en _

Welcome to Season Two of the Muses of Bella Podcast. To step into this season I am bringing back the first guest I had on the show, Evolutionary Astrologer, Hypnotist, Abundance Mindset Coach - Daisy Clementine Douglas. Who, side note also happens to be my cousin. How do you step into your power? So much of our conversation revolved around what it is to empower yourself. The personal, emotional journey you take to step into being the master of your own free will. We talk about moving out of the Piscean Age and into the age of Aquarius. Coming into the space of being your own teacher and guru. For Daisy, she is always sure to come back and weave in the influence of Astrology and our connection to the cosmos as a guiding light within this journey - “Whatever is happening above is happening down here. It’s not like the planets are moving us around like pieces on a chess board. No. Whatever is happening in the cosmos is already happening down here. Whatever is happening down here is already happening up there. We are not separate from it, we are not separate from Astrology. We are not separate from our chart - your chart is who you are, it is a reflection of your energetic blueprint that has millions of ways of manifesting in the world, based on your freedom of choice and your free will.”

Muses of Bella is a platform that is dedicated to women's storytelling but it is also important for me to open this platform to all walks of life and so I am very honored to have Vitto as my first male guest. Vitto is an Evolutionary Astrologer and a Family Constellation Therapist. Vitto began his spiritual and insightful emotional journey at a young age where he was searching and looking peace and realization within the self. I definitely set out on this interview to be hearing about Vitto's life story but as I always love to let these conversations flow organically, Vitto began to talk about astrology and he was just dipping into the most beautiful space and saying the most incredible things. And so what we talk about in this episode is the twelve astrological archetypes. Vitto gives explanations in such depths of the archetypes. This processing of hearing helped me connect the dots in seeing how each archetype is representative of the stages that we go through within the psyche and subconscious. Vitto says that astrology has been a tool for him to continue to learn, more about himself and more about the people around him. Astrology keeps you in a space where you can be a student forever which I think is really cool.

My guest today is Bella Harrison. I am so excited to be sharing this interview with you, Bella is one of my dearest friends, definitely a soul sister in this lifetime. We have known each other for just over a decade. I have been trying to interview her for the past few years and it was in complete synchronistic and beautiful alignment in the timing of this interview. This interview absolutely blew my mind. I went through and listened to it a few times myself, I was taking notes. Bellas knowledge and insight into the work she does is extraordinary in my eyes. She is a Somatic Sex Coach and it’s really wild because as I said I’ve known Bella for just about ten years now and it’s incredible to see and witness her transformation. She is one of the most unique and genuine people I have come across in my life. The way that she owns herself is so inspiring - I say in the interview that she has a very strong sensual and sexual presence to her and it was one of the main things that drew me to her and fascinated me about her, from the very beginning. And it makes sense that her work is in the realm of sensuality, sexuality and embodiment of both these elements. She even says that she feels that sexuality is something she has explored in many many life times and it’s something that just comes very much innately to her and you truly feel this when you are around her. There are so many things that we talk about in this episode. We speak about shadow, what is shadow, what is shadow work. We talk about what it is to come from the heart space and to relate to people from the heart space. We talk about what it really means to be ’doing the work’. Essentially what it is to really move out of victim and victimhood, to really take responsibility for yourself and ultimately what does it mean to come into your sovereignty.

My guest today is someone who I met through one of my best friends, Daisy Ramli, who has been doing these incredible Indonesian food pop ups in New York City over the last few years, called Sayang. I had the pleasure of joining Daisy on a shoot that she was doing for Sayang where we filmed a group of Indonesian expats living in New York, having lunch at Upi Jaya which is an Indonesian restaurant in Queens. The subject matter was a discussion of what it means to be Indonesian and the experience of having lived in New York as an expat. I have to say I am always so excited when I meet someone from back home over here because it’s a fairly rare thing. And it’s also a rare thing in life that you meet people and have an instant connection with them which is what I had with my guest today, Melati Diran. I find Melati to be someone that is very self reflective and empathetic, it seems to just be engrained as part of her nature and as such a young woman I think she has a very honest way of making sense of the world that is fairly wise. Melati moved to New York from Jakarta at the age of seventeen and although originally a fine artist, she stumbled into design and is now a product designer for Glossier. When I asked Melati about what it was that she loved about design this was the answer she gave me; that it teaches you to be an empathetic person. Most of the time when you’re designing you are scarcely designing for yourself. You are using creativity to solve problems and share stories and to be able to do that successfully you need to understand the art of being in somebody else shoes. And so I found that this interview was one of the more abstract conversations that I’ve had. Melati was so beautifully vulnerable and open and really gave us insight into her internal world.

My guest today is definitely one of the coolest women that I have ever met and that is Dr. Piper Grant. It’s interesting because I sort of knew of Piper before I knew her well as a friend. We both grew up in the same place, we both grew up in Bali and I knew her from a distance initially because she was an older girl, she ran in a different social circle but as the years went on we have developed a really lovely friendship and I have to say it’s just so wonderful to be around her. She has such a kind open heart, she has a zest for life, she has so much passion and part of the reason why I love to be in conversation with her in general is because of her openness and the work that she does. She is a sex therapist and a sex addiction specialist, so you can imagine I was pretty stoked to interview her for the Muses of Bella series. I have to say some of you may be wondering becuase I was wondering myself exactly what the work of a sex therapist entails and - side note, I think the work that Piper does, it’s very crucial work that needs to be done in the world because it’s work that’s very much needed. It’s so important becuase it is work within helping people heal sexual wounding and sexual trauma. Piper helps her clients to restore themselves to a place of integrity, to finding vibrancy within a relationship. And for Piper this work goes far beyond her professional training. It is work that she has had a calling to for as long as she can remember and it is work that is intrinsic to her very being. Piper is interested in the strong role that sexuality plays in our lives and how it influences our feelings of personal well-being. And I have to say what Piper offers is not only an excellence in therapeutic training because she’s fairly accomplished. She attended UCSB, UCLA and AIU on top of many other trainings but what Piper offers is a beautiful weaving-in of holistic and alternative medicine modalities. I think what makes Piper particularly special is in part due to her upbringing. She grew up for part of her childhood in Bali and what’s so special about Bali is that is gives to you a healing of the mind, body and spirit and this is intrinsically interwoven in the culture of the Balinese. And having been a child growing up in Bali myself, you do get this innate understanding of healing becuase you are witness to the power of natural and mystic practices within wellness. And this is something that makes Piper very very unique in her offerings.

I find that Karuna is rather creative and due to the deep wisdom she holds stemming from her personal spiritual practice, this allows her to take the holistic approach for her patients to a whole other level. In particular congruence and integration are at the core of her healing philosophy… An excerpt below from Karuna’s wellness statement. “Most of us do not know, and yet it is the most important question we can ask ourselves. Beauty and health are about that exploration of who we are, and how we can bring that exploration out as the art of our lives. Living holistically means being able to be yourself completely. Our patterns, behaviors, food preferences, body type, haircut, radiance of our skin and style are all reflections of how we feel inside. Health and beauty comes naturally when all of who you are is integrated, from what you eat, to what you wear. It’s about congruence; learning who you are and expressing it, inside and out, skin to bones. It’s powerful to feel good and look good. Get this down and you will glow.”

Today is the relaunch of the Muses of Bella podcast and I am so excited to begin this relaunch with a Part Two to an interview that I did four years ago. My guest today is Fernanda De La Puente. I first met Fernanda at a Jivamukti yoga class in New York City where she was teaching. And instantly I saw that there was something very special about her. Her insight into the practice and philosophy of yoga really struck me and so I approached her after class and asked her if she would be open to being interviewed by me. The first interview was already so special and so to reunite after four years, to see where she was, to witness and hear her evolution was really cool… Fernanda gave me a really beautiful insight into what is currently alive for her in her world, inner world and life - it’s a powerful episode.

Muses of Bella Podcast, Episode 4 - Melati Diran, Student of Life

Most of the time when your designing you are scarcely designing for yourself. You are using creativity to solve problems and share stories and to be able to do that successfully you need to understand the art of being in somebody else shoes. And so I found that this interview was one of the more abstract conversations that I’ve had. Melati was so beautifully vulnerable and open and really gave us insight into her internal world.

Muses of Bella Podcast, Episode 3 - Piper Grant, Holistic Sex Therapist

Muses of Bella Podcast, Episode 2 - Karuna Sabnani, Pleasure Seeker

My guest today is Dr. Karuna Sabnani, she is the founder of Karuna Naturopathic health care and has been a practicing naturopath for over fifteen years… Karuna brings in Ayurvedic principles as well as her own natural wisdom to the personalized health regimes and cleanses that she designs specific to her patients lifestyle and needs.

She is one of my soul sisters in this life time and actually she has been like a little sister to me and that is my cousin Daisy. Daisy is a really remarkable person, she’s one of those people in life that, she has an idea or has a passion and not only does she execute it but she does so perfectly and she also brings her own sort of quirkiness to it and this is something that I really admire about her…
