Riverfront Radio is a Cincinnati-based sports podcast presented by Milliron Sports. Join Dan, Jeff, Mac and Whitty as we take you on a roller coaster journey through the highs and lows that come with being a Cincinnati sports fan.
The Bengals have won a game, and then quickly got back to their losing ways against the Browns this past weekend. The Patriots have been caught filming the Bengals sideline for their upcoming matchup, and we're not surprised. Dan and Ben both went to Reds Fest this year, and we talk about our experience there, as well as the recent Reds signings. The Ryan Finley Experiment appears to be over in Cincinnati as the Bengals have officially announced that Andy Dalton will be back as the starting quarterback this weekend. We give our thoughts on what this means for Finley going forward and how the change may potentially impact the Bengals draft position. Also, with Thanksgiving just a day away, we take time to reflect on the things we're all thankful for in the sports world. The Bengals are 0-10 after their most recent loss to the Raiders, but we're not totally pessimistic about this teams performance. We're hoping they can keep losing so that they have the worst record, and can get the best draft pick. Not much else going on in the sports world, but we find a way to mess with Jeff at the end. Enjoy the show! Check us out on Twitter: @MillironSports Mac - @BennyMacBlog Dan - @NatiBoyDan Jeff - @HungryJefe Whitty - @MillironWhitty
Ryan Finley made his NFL debut this weekend, and looked very much like a quarterback making his first NFL start. He made a few good throws but had his fair share of mistakes and it's safe to say the Bengals still need to focus on a QB in the first round of the draft. We briefly discuss the past weekend's LSU vs. Alabama matchup and speculate on how the Bengals are going to screw up the draft by not taking either teams' QB. Breaking news! Andy Dalton has been benched, and we're coming at you with an emergency podcast to discuss today's events. We have mixed feelings about the Dalton situation, and wish him nothing but the best in the future. Thank you Andy! With an 0-5 start the Bengals appear to be in full tank-mode, which leaves us pondering what the future holds for some of the veteran players on both sides of the ball. We're already looking forward to how the team will manage to ruin their high draft picks in the coming years, and while he hasn't had much to work with, nobody has been overly impressed with the start of Zac Taylor's tenure. It's not all doom and gloom on the gridiron though, as UC and Ohio State both had big wins this past weekend, and each team appears to be the favorite to finish on top of their respective divisions. The Bengals are 0-7 and we've officially checked out. We can't decide if we want the Bengals to try and win some games, or just lose out and grab a better draft position. Mike Brown, please sell the team. We also talk a little bit about college football, but that doesn't last long as we wonder how the Bengals will mess up the upcoming draft picks. The Bengals are 0-3 and we're fed up. Throw this team in the trash and start over. @MillironSports Mac - @BennyMacBlog Dan - @NatiBoyDB Jeff - @HungryJefe Whitty - @MillironWhitty
After starting the season with a close loss in Seattle in Week 1, the Bengals absolutely had the doors blown off by the 49ers in Week 2. They looked terrible on both sides of the ball and any confidence we had in the team is now completely gone. With the Reds approaching the end of an equally disappointing season, there aren't many bright spots in Cincinnati sports these days, although Eugenio Suarez being tied for lead in the MLB home run race at least gives us something to hang our hats on. We're just days away from the start of the NFL season, and the feeling in the room is less than optimistic at this point. We talk about the current state of the Bengals' 53-man roster before switching gears to Reds and college football talk. We close it out with more NFL talk as we predict the Bengals' record this year and give our thoughts on who's going to be in Super Bowl LIV. (Spoiler Alert: It's not the Bengals) Check us out on Twitter: @MillironSports Mac - @BennyMacBlog Dan - @NatiBoyDB Jeff - @HungryJefe Whitty - @MillironWhitty

On this week's episode of Riverfront Radio, we have a special guest on to talk about the upcoming college football season - T-Bone. We delve into the Bengals preseason happenings, as well as some commentary on Andrew Luck's sudden retirement. We also give our predictions for the College Football Playoffs and some dark horse picks. Enjoy the show! Outside of the regularly scheduled Aristides Aquino home run and the throwback uniforms, we don't really have a whole lot left to say about the Reds, who find themselves 7.5 games back with just 39 left to play. The Bengals, on the other hand, are just getting started, although they don't inspire much confidence in the team either at the moment. We have been impressed by some of the younger guys on the roster though, including Ryan Finley who has all but locked up the backup quarterback spot just two weeks into the preseason. Check us out on Twitter: @MillironSports Mac - @BennyMacBlog Dan - @NatiBoyDB Jeff - @HungryJefe Whitty - @MillironWhitty
On today's episode of Riverfront Radio, we have immediate reactions to Aquino hitting monster home-runs at Great American Ballpark, and the first Bengals Preseason Game. The Reds are looking good after a 10-1 win over the Cubs with a bunch guys that were playing in Louisville earlier this month. Do we have a quarterback controversy in Cincinnati? NO. We love Andy. Enjoy the show! Check us out on Twitter: @MillironSports Mac - @BennyMacBlog Dan - @NatiBoyDB Jeff - @HungryJefe Whitty - @MillironWhitty
There was a lot of Reds news to catch up on from the past week between the Pirates fight and all of the deadline trades. Amir Garrett may have cemented himself as a fan favorite with his decision to take on the entire Pittsburgh bench by himself. We give our thoughts on the departure of Puig, Scooter and Co., the arrival of Trevor Bauer and what the future holds for the Reds for the rest of 2019 and beyond. We also look forward to the Bengals first preseason game and even dabble in some FC Cincinnati talk. Check us out on Twitter: @MillironSports Mac - @BennyMacBlog Dan - @NatiBoyDB Jeff - @HungryJefe Whitty - @MillironWhitty
Who didn't see this coming? AJ Green is injured (not hurt) and it's got us all a little depressed about the start of Bengals training camp. We also ponder the future of some of our current Redlegs with the trade deadline coming up and the Reds pretty much eliminated from the divisional race. We also give Jeff a bunch of shit about his poor life choices. Enjoy the show! Check us out on Twitter: @MillironSports Mac - @BennyMacBlog Dan - @NatiBoyDB Jeff - @HungryJefe Whitty - @MillironWhitty
he Reds are off to an absolutely abysmal start after the All Star break, which other than preventing Mac from having to get some awkward tattoos, has been of little benefit to us as fans. We discuss the potential trade deadline moves the team could make now that they've solidified themselves as sellers, and also give David Bell props for breaking the franchise record for single-season manager ejections. With the NFL preseason just a couple weeks away we start looking forward to football season and we take a few minutes to belittle each other for our personal preferences of ice cream flavors. Check us out on Twitter: @MillironSports Mac - @BennyMacBlog Dan - @NatiBoyDB Jeff - @HungryJefe Whitty - @MillironWhitty
Clint Boling is calling it quits for the Bengals, and we wish we could retire early too. The Reds are off to a crappy start to the 2nd half of the season, and we wonder if they'll be buyers or sellers at the trade deadline. We also talk more in depth about the Reds 150th anniversary jerseys they've been wearing. Enjoy the show! Check us out on Twitter: @MillironSports Mac - @BennyMacBlog Dan - @NatiBoyDB Jeff - @HungryJefe Whitty - @MillironWhitty
he Reds earned another series victory over the Cubs this past weekend, which included some fireworks between Yasiel Puig and Pedro Strop. We discuss that, David Bell's record-setting ejection numbers and the fact that Castillo is the lone Reds All-Star. We touch on the ridiculous NBA free agency numbers and Mac and Whitty get their hopes up thanks to some late-breaking NHL free agency rumors. We also take a moment to wish are friends north of the border a Happy Canada day, as well as a Happy Fourth of July to all of our listeners here in the states. We're back! Riverfront Radio finally has some good news as the Reds had a decent week while we were off. We chat about the Reds possibly turning it around, the Big 3 starting up for some summer basketball, and give you some details about the local Cincinnatians making national headlines. Enjoy the show! We start off this week's episode of Riverfront Radio talking about the Reds recent struggles as they just can't seem to dig out of the hole they put themselves in at the beginning of the season. We also voice our frustrations over the recent news that Bengals will not be wearing throwbacks during the NFL's upcoming 100th anniversary season. After that, things start to get off the rails quickly and end with us making plans to create our own country. Check us out on Twitter: @MillironSports Mac - @BennyMacBlog Dan - @NatiBoyDB Jeff - @HungryJefe Whitty - @MillironWhitty
Riverfront Radio is back with another great episode. On today's podcast we talk about the recent Reds struggles, and our love/hate of their throwback uniforms. We also get into whether Geno Suarez getting plunked by a Pirates pitcher was on purpose or not. We're also going to have to monitor Jeff's health during the upcoming week; he's got some issues. Enjoy the show. Check us out on Twitter: @MillironSports Mac - @BennyMacBlog Dan - @NatiBoyDB Jeff - @HungryJefe Whitty - @MillironWhitty
We're all over the place on our special Memorial Day episode of Riverfront Radio. The Reds still seem to be just on the verge of turning things around after going 3-2 over the past week and a big opportunity to make up some ground ahead of them on the 7-game home stand. We also call into question Jeff's beer choice and things quickly get off the rails, in true Milliron Sports fashion. Check us out on Twitter: @MillironSports Mac - @BennyMacBlog Dan - @NatiBoyDB Jeff - @HungryJefe Whitty - @MillironWhitty
On this episode of Riverfront Radio, we talk about the recent Reds homestand with the Cubs and Dodgers. We also chat about the Bengals OTA's with the o-line switch up, and hit on some hot-button political issues on accident. Enjoy the show! The Reds' season is now 25% complete and they've reached a key home stand that could potentially get them back into contention. We give our predictions on how the Reds will fare during the upcoming stretch, plus we present our world-famous 1st Annual Riverfront Radio Quarter Season Awards. We also discuss the unexpected departures that have hit the UC Men's Basketball team and how the cupboard is looking pretty bare for John Brannen heading into his first season as head coach. Check us out on Twitter: @MillironSports Mac - @BennyMacBlog Dan - @NatiBoyDB Jeff - @HungryJefe Whitty - @MillironWhitty
On today's episode of Riverfront Radio, we let Whitty and Ben air out their frustrations over the Jackets loss to the Boston Bruins. We also talk some Reds with Nick Senzel's debut, Jesse Winker as a troll, throwback uniforms and the pitching taking a turn for the worse. Enjoy the show! Check us out on Twitter: @MillironSports Mac - @BennyMacBlog Dan - @NatiBoyDB Jeff - @HungryJefe Whitty - @MillironWhitty
The 2019 NFL Draft is in the books and overall we're relatively pleased with the outcome. Dan, Jeff, Mac and Whitty provide their initial reactions and speculate on which players will be able to immediately contribute to the team. The Reds are still struggling to find some consistency at the plate, but their stellar pitching has helped the team find some minor success recently. We also discuss the Blue Jackets playoff run and how stressful it is to actually have a team experience some success in the postseason. Check us out on Twitter: @MillironSports Mac - @BennyMacBlog Dan - @NatiBoyDB Jeff - @HungryJefe Whitty - @MillironWhitty
On today's episode of Riverfront Radio, we talk about the Reds west coast trip and the rollercoaster ride they're putting us through. We also have the Bengals draft coming up, and some of us are more sick of mock drafts than others. We're also ecstatic/scared the next CBJ series. Check us out on Twitter: @MillironSports Mac - @BennyMacBlog Dan - @NatiBoyDB Jeff - @HungryJefe Whitty - @MillironWhitty
Yasiel Puig and the rest of the Reds are starting to find their bats, and a 4-1 week has Dan, Mac and Whitty feeling a little more positive about the season. The positive vibes have carried over onto the ice as well as the Blue Jackets have been a pleasant surprise, up 3-0 on a Lightning team that tied the NHL record for wins on the season. We also discuss UC's new head coach, which wasn't met by positive reactions from some former players, and we reflect on Tiger's Masters victory and the impact he's had on the world of golf. Check us out on Twitter: @MillironSports Mac - @BennyMacBlog Dan - @NatiBoyDB Jeff - @HungryJefe Whitty - @MillironWhitty
The Reds are 1-8, and are officially depressing us. We discuss their poor start, the fight in Pittsburgh, and what it will take to turn this club around. Dietrich's home-runs got us excited for the bats to turn it around for the ballclub, since the pitching has been decent so far. Enjoy the episode! Check us out on Twitter: @MillironSports Mac - @BennyMacBlog Dan - @NatiBoyDB Jeff - @HungryJefe Whitty - @MillironWhitty
Now that we have a sufficient sample size to review, we provide all of our rational and irrational overreactions from the Reds' 1-1 start. Some of the new comers haven't gotten off to the hottest of starts, but on the bright side, they have new souvenir cups at the stadium now. We also give our thoughts on this year's Final Four, which didn't quite turn out exactly how we expected. Also, but congrats to Mac for winning the first annual Riverfront Radio bracket pool. Check us out on Twitter: @MillironSports Mac - @BennyMacBlog Dan - @NatiBoyDB Jeff - @HungryJefe Whitty - @MillironWhitty
Here on Riverfront Radio, we're ready for the Cincinnati Reds Opening day! We talk our frustrations with the UC Bearcats bowing out early from the NCAA tournament yet again, and Scooter Gennett's injury/Senzel's playing situation. Enjoy the episode!
On this week's episode of Riverfront Radio we're talking March Madness as we breakdown UC's questionable seeding despite having won the AAC Tournament. We each give our Final Four predictions and we propose a show bet on who has the best bracket this year. We also discuss some of the maddening decisions the Bengals have made so far in free agency as our optimism for this season is already starting to dwindle.
Thanks for checking out this weeks episode of Riverfront Radio. Whit, Jeff, Ben and Dan get into the recent rumors about the Bengals being interested in trading for Josh Rosen, and get into Antonio Brown being dealt out of the division. We also get into the Reds having good problems with decisions that need to be made about the roster. Enjoy the show!
Welcome to the first ever episode of Riverfront Radio. Join Dan, Jeff, Mac and Whitty as we introduce ourselves and provide a preview of things to come on the new podcast. We power rank the new head coaches in Cincinnati professional sports and talk about why we're feeling optimistic about the direction of the Reds and Bengals (even though everything in recent sports history tell us we shouldn't).
