The Nats overcame an early four run deficit to knock off the Giants 11-5 on Tuesday evening in Navy Yard. Mark & Al have plenty of praise to shower on James Wood as he homered and scored four times in the victory. Wood already has 23 RBI since getting called up to the majors, which is five more than Nick Senzel had in his time with Washington, despite Senzel having almost one hundred more at-bats than the rookie this season. (11:30) CJ Abrams' 3-run HR gave the Nationals the lead for good at 5-4 in the bottom of the 2nd. You need to watch the highlight of this homer as Abrams somehow hit a pitch above his eyes over the fence. (14:00) Keibert Ruiz doubled and homered on Tuesday night to continue his strong start to August. The hosts discuss how important the final few months of the season are for the catcher. (18:00) Alex Call had a pair of RBI doubles and also drew a walk. Call has produced at the plate since getting promoted from AAA in late jUly. (23:00) MacKenzie Gore had an awful beginning to this game as he immediately allowed four San Francisco runs. Gore has not pitched well in seven of his past eight starts and his trajectory is a growing concern. To his credit though, Gore did last five innings before handing it off to the bullpen. (31:00) The Nats moved up Thursday's game vs. the Giants to 12:05PM from the original 4:05pm start time. There is a lot of rain in the D.C. forecast for the next few days. The Nats defeated the Braves 7-3 on Saturday afternoon in D.C. for their second straight win. Mark & Al have a dozen hits to sort through as the offense scored in five of the initial six frames on Saturday. It was the second time in the past few weeks that the Nationals handed a loss to Atlanta starter Charlie Morton. (07:00) Nick Senzel had a pair of doubles and hit a late homer to give Washington a comfortable lead. Al points out how Senzel's offensive production has floated below the radar this season. (17:00) MacKenzie Gore earned the win but it was another inefficient outing in terms of pitches thrown. Gore was charged with two runs in five innings of work and was replaced after his 99th pitch in the top of the 6th. Mark explains whether or not Gore is on a pitch count for this season. (24:00) Kyle Finnegan was not used and three relievers combined to record the final twelve outs. Dylan Floro threw a scoreless 8th and his ERA is at 1.15. (29:45) The horse co owned by Jayson Werth won the Belmont Stakes on Saturday (Dornoch) despite being listed at 17-1 before the race. Learn more about your ad choices. The Nats beat the Marlins 12-9 on Sunday afternoon after falling behind 6-0 in the 1st inning. Al & Tim recap the big comeback on what is fittingly the ninth anniversary of the famous "Dan Uggla Game", one of the more memorable rallies in team history. It was the Nationals third straight victory and they go for the sweep on Monday night. (05:00) The scoring for Washington began in the 4th and that is when Nick Senzel hit the first of his two homers in the game. Senzel has homered four times in the team's past four games. (08:00) Jacob Young had another excellent game as he had three hits, stole two bases, and scored two runs while playing CF. (16:30) Alex Call had another a very impactful game just one day after getting promoted from Rochester. Call scored three times and had an outfield assist. Hear why Tim refers to him as a "AAAAA Player". (19:30) Patrick Corbin allowed seven runs and saw Miami bat around in the opening inning. Will this be the season that he loses his spot in the rotation? (28:00) Hunter Harvey recorded a five out hold and Kyle Finnegan notched his 9th save of the season. Derek Law struck out three Marlins in two innings of work. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
The Nats were routed 8-2 on Opening Day on Thursday afternoon in Cincinnati . Mark (Live from Cincy) & Al recap the defeat that got off to an immediate negative tone as third baseman Nick Senzel broke his thumb while fielding a ground ball in warmups. Then Josiah Gray allowed seven runs before the 3rd inning was over, including allowing a pair of HRs to Nick Martini, who entered the game with only 8 career HRs. (16:20) The offense was very ineffective as only one runner reached scoring position and zero walks were drawn. The only source of offense came from Eddie Rosario who hit a 2 run HR while starting in CF. (23:00) It didn't take long for our first "TOOTBLAN" on the season as it came in the top of the 1st. (29:10) Stephen Strasburg was officially placed on the 60-day IL on Thursday. Any update on a potential resolution? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

The Cincinnati Reds were dominated for seven innings by the Texas Rangers and Martin Perez, but then the eighth inning happened. Even though it was the Reds eighth-straight game without a home run, it was their second-straight game scoring seven runs and beating the Rangers. Nick Senzel came up huge, Jake Fraley delivered in a clutch moment that was set up by brilliant strategy from David Bell, and the Reds scored six times in the eighth to win. The great night from Senzel has us wondering what value he brings to the Reds at this point in his career? Also, the bullpen once again saved the Reds game. After a confusing start for Luke Weaver (allows six runs, strikes out eight) the bullpen provided three and a third scoreless innings for the Reds and shutdown the Rangers lineup.Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

Composer Jonah Senzel talks about his music for Inscryption. He wrote in a handful of different styles, from music heavy with sound effects to the simplest, slow chip-tune chords. The game also is a bit of a mash-up of styles - a deckbuilder with escape room elements and a bit of horror. It was great chatting with Jonah about his music! The Cincinnati Reds put together the best week of the season, thanks to four walk-offs, and are getting healthy at a time where they may be able to play some better baseball. Jeff and Steve look at the walk-off heroes of Nick Senzel, Mike Moustakas, Albert Almora, and the balk rule and how it will have a positive impact on the rest of the season. Senzel is turning things around and with the return of Tyler Stephenson, and continued good play from All Star snub Brandon Drury, this Reds lineup is looking dangerous. Nick Lodolo's encouraging return has the pitching staff looking brighter. Combined with good performances from Hunter Greene and All Star Luis Castillo, the Reds used pitching to sweep the Tampa Bay Rays. Also, the Toronto Blue Jays reportedly want Luis Castillo and have some exciting prospects who could put the Reds on track for a deep contender in 2024.*SUBSCRIBE* on YouTube and *FOLLOW* the podcast on your favorite app and on Twitter and Instagram @lockedonredsAlso follow @jefffcarr and @soffenbaker on Twitter Call or text (513) 549-0159Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built Bar Built Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. WFNY's EHC podcast returns to discuss the possibilities of trading Corey Kluber once again. With reports that the Indians are likely going to keep all of their starters, it's still difficult to believe that the Indians aren't going to try and do something big to improve their team. Will they use Corey Kluber to reallocate their assets, and acquire position player help? Gage Will, Jim Pete, and Mike Hattery take to the airwaves one more time discussing the possibilities of an Indians deal happening sooner, rather than later. Will a Kluber trade happen, or will the front office avoid trading their ace because of the recently acquired payroll relief? Did the Cincinnati Reds and the Los Angeles Dodgers create a deal with each other because the Indians refused to deal with both, or was it a message that both teams are ready to deal? The Minnesota Twins just acquired Nelson Cruz at a fairly team friendly deal that would have made a ton of sense for the Indians. Does this mean that the Indians are tight on payroll, or just in the normal waiting game? Are the Padres the real deal, or are the Indians using them to nudge the Dodgers along the way? If the Padres were truly involved in a deal with the Indians, wouldn't Fernando Tatis be a must, and ultimately, isn't that the deal-breaker? I mean, the Padres aren't dealing Tatis. Oh, and by the way, Luis Urias is going to be really good. The Los Angeles Dodgers are likely at the top of the list, and Cody Bellinger is the price the Indians most likely covet. Will the Dodgers deal him after moving Matt Kemp and Yasiel Puig out of their outfield in the Reds deal? Can the Indians manage even a Alex Verdugo, Gavin Lux, and Chris Taylor as an alternative? The Reds may be the team most in play. With Nick Senzel rumored to be the Indians primary target, would a deal that includes Senzel and Jesse Winker be enough, and could they also acquire a Raisel Iglesias or Amir Garrett in the deal? What are the Indians going to do about their bullpen. Are they actually going to make a splash with a big free agent, do what they normally do, and take fliers on guys, or make another deal at the deadline? Learn more about your ad choices.
