Season 2, Episode 17 is a bit of a different adventure for us. We have decided to break down the concepts presented in a Joe Rogan interview with Thomas Campbell, author of My Big TOE (Theory Of Everything). Campbell is a physicist who began experiencing the paranormal in college. Because of those experiences, he has gone on a life long quest to understand and explain them from a scientific perspective. Through that study and experimentation, he has created a very rich, flushed out theory of how all of life as we know it works. Further, he believes that his theory has sufficient results to answer many of the modern questions between Newtonian and Quantum Physics. We strongly suggest that you watch Joe Rogan's interview of Campbell prior to this episode, in order to get the full context. If not, we do give an overview at the beginning of the show. https://youtu.be/tQR6SFK7lFc?si=mtIRUB-hxrNLUtJMOur overall intent here is to map Campbell's framework and components to our understanding of God, all of Creation, and the many paranormal experiences and concepts we have discussed in the past.Along the way I relate a relevant Near Death Experience of a coworker, Vic rather dubiously declares himself the Best Wordle Player in the World, Father Mike embarks on the First Paranormal Rundown Wordle Intuition Psychic Blocking Experiment, and we discuss topics including Out of Body Experiences, Simulation Theory, Intuition vs Intellect, Creative Uses for Computer Punch Cards, Jesus Christ, The Holy Spirit, World of Warcraft, Leroy Jenkins, What is Hell, Various Paranormal Concepts, The Borg, and more. We really hope you enjoy this breakdown of Thomas Campbell's view of the universe, and our mapping of it to The Paranormal Rundown!Links for Thomas Campbell:https://www.my-big-toe.com/theory/overview-of-my-big-toe/ https://www.cusac.orgPlease contact us at feedback@paranormalrundown.com and let us know what you think of this episode. In 2020, Davis received the Pulitzer Prize in music for his opera The Central Park Five.  Prior to achieving notoriety as a composer, Davis had a prolific career as a jazz pianist, recording with prominent jazz artists including Marion Brown, Oliver Lake, Leroy Jenkins, David Murray, Wadada Leo Smith, and more.

It's Thursday on KITM, and David Waldman and Greg Dworkin aren't even the least bit sick of winning. Democrats are still tallying up their wins from Tuesday, right down to the small towns, local elections and school board races. It is, however, hard to separate the Dem's big wins from the Gop's devastating losses. Republicans are reaping a horrible ROI on their culture war. Glenn Youngkin now has a warehouse full of red fleece vests that he doesn't know what to do with. (He might be able to unload some on JD Vance.) 5 Republicans are still brawling to come in second to Donald Trump. (It doesn't matter to Donald, they're all number two to him.) Now, Leroy Jenkins will yell “Viiiiveeeek Ramaswamy!” before enthusiastically dooming everyone to failure. In 1619 the first enslaved Black people arrived in Virginia. Now, 404 short years later, Del. Don Scott might become Virginia's first Black Speaker of the House. Meanwhile, over in Michigan, Gop election conspiracy loon/Chairwoman Kristina Karamo might soon lose her position, once her party closes its offices. All of this would seem to reduce the chances of TFFG becoming the next guy in office. That would be a good thing, as Donald Trump's plan to destroy the United States just might succeed, and that would be a bad thing.

Episode 138 Robert 'Robbie' Lamp In 1981, 27 year old Robert Lamp, or Robbie as he went by seemed to have a lot of things going for him. He was a young husband and father, and had recently purchased a home in a great neighborhood in Pennsylvania. Robbie was a successful manager of a Grand Union Super Market; in fact, he has done such a great job, that the company asked him if he'd work at their store in Hillandale, Silver Spring, MD- a store that was in need of a good manager to help run it. It was a good opportunity for Robbie, but since he has just settled his family in Pennsylvania, he decided that he would travel back and forth from Pennsylvania to Maryland instead of uproot his family. By March, 1981, Robbie had settled in to his position at the new store alongside his co-workers, but a violent robbery of a Safeway store just down the street in which a store manager was shot, was on Robbie's mind. He requested security guards from corporate for the store, but his request was denied. Robbie instead had to rely on his training which taught him that in the event of a robbery, to fully cooperate and hand over the money in order to keep himself, his employees, and customers safe. Unfortunately, on March 27th of that year, Robbie's Grand Union store was robbed, and despite cooperating fully with the robbers, Robbie was shot to death as he lay helpless on the floor alongside store employees and customers. His killers fled from the store and escaped, leaving Robbie's family to deal with the aftermath. Later that year, Police connected two men to not only Robbie's murder, but to the earlier Safeway shooting, and other crimes. Arrested were 22 year old LeRoy Jenkins and 25 year old Jerome Dudley. Robbie's family assumed that justice would be done and Robbie's killers would be in prison for the rest of their lives. Years later, they were shocked to find out that the suspects in Robbie's murder had never even been indicted for murder in Robbie's case, and although one of the two suspects had died, the other was still alive and was a free man. Robbie's brother Olen Lamp set out to get to the bottom of what happened. He sought out and teamed up with Tom Ponton, who was a co-worker of Robbie's and was on the floor next to Robbie when he was killed. Together, Robbie and Tom filed FOIA requests, and sought out the help of reporter Paul Wagner of NBCNews4 out of Washington DC in an effort to shine a brighter light on just what happened and how suspects in Robbie's murder case were able to somehow slip through the cracks. To date, Robbie's murder case remains officially unsolved, and noone has been prosecuted for it. In this episode, you'll hear from both Robbie's brother Olen who discusses how his brother's murder affected their family, and his efforts to get justice. You'll also hear from Tom Ponton, Robbie's co-worker who walks us through the tragic events of that fateful night in March 1981, and how he came to team up with Olen to find out the truth. If you have any information about the March, 1981 murder of Robert 'Robbie' Lamp in Silver Spring MD, please reach out to his brother Robbie at the Facebook page he runs for the case, or to reporter Paul Wagner at NBCNews4   To support this podcast with a donation, you can do so via Patreon at: https://www.patreon.com/TheMurderInMyFamily or through Paypal at: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/AbJackEntertainment To contact the podcast or learn more about the case we discuss, please visit: TheMurderInMyFamily.com Follow us on social media; Facebook- https://www.facebook.com/pg/The-Murder-in-My-Family-True-Crime-Podcast-998674943627334/reviews/ Twitter- @MurderinMyFam

To be in the same room with four of my closest friends is rare in and of itself. Being able to record a podcast on one of my most memorable days ever at the ATA Show while it was still fresh with these guys was a blessing and a night I will never forget. All prior guests on the podcast, the idea hit me a week prior to the show for Aaron Ritter, Al Quackenbush, Chad Stillman, Logan Chartrand and myself to jump on here and give a first hand account of our Thursday in real time. Sleep deprived from a very long day that began with the Target The Heart Prayer Breakfast and concluded with the Badlands Film Festival, the conversation got deep at times and also went off the rails with a shoutout to internet legend LeRoy Jenkins. This is by far one of the rawest, in the moment conversations we have ever captured on a podcast and words do little to describe how truly special it was. While we all came to Indianapolis with an agenda related to our own professions and place within the archery industry, the conversations about life, faith and battling through day to day struggles were what drew us closer as a group. That transparency also allowed each of us to impact others throughout the week and continue to grow the tightknit circle that is HHAUSA.Five different men, five different walks of life with five different stories. All tied together by a common thread to be better men than we were the day before and bring about positive change to others in our own unique way. Great stuff and worthy of a sequel in the months ahead. We promise to be well rested for Part 2. Stay tuned! You can connect with Aaron, Al, Chad and Logan on Facebook and InstagramFor more information about HHAUSA and how you can support our mission, visit www.hhausa.orgTo purchases HHAUSA hats, shirts, challenge coins and tumblers, visit www.hhasports.com

David Soldier has achieved a rare distinction — not only is he an accomplished Columbia University neuroscientist with over 200 papers and publications, several research grants and numerous prestigious awards to his credit, he is an equally successful and prolific musician in almost every genre of music. His musical undertakings include his work with the Soldier String Quartet (since 1984), a punk chamber group which has recorded with Guided by Voices, Rick Ocasek (Frontman for The Cars), Elliott Sharp, Leroy Jenkins and frequent collaborator John Cale (Velvet Underground); The Kropotkins, comprising Lori Velvette, Velvet Underground Drummer Moe Tucker, Charles Burnham (James Blood Ulmer's Odyssey Band) and Jonathan Kane, the latter with whom David formed the versatile duo, Soldier Kane. Other prolific legends with whom David has collaborated include Bo Diddley, Pete Seeger, Richard Hell and Sonic Youth's Lee Ranaldo. He wrote two chamber operas with Kurt Vonnegut (The Soldier's Story and Ice-9 Ballads), with Vonnegut playing multiple characters in the works. Films David has arranged or scored include I Shot Andy Warhol (Jared Harris); Andy Warhol's Eat and Kiss; and Basquiat, directed by Julian Schnabel and starring Jeffrey Wright and Benicio del Toro. From an experimental side, he has collaborated with conceptual Russian artists Komar & Melamid; and formed the Thai Elephant Orchestra, a musical ensemble consisting of 14 elephants, which he assembled, coordinated and composed. In our conversation, we discuss David's unique discovery of music in Southern Illinois; working with the giants of music; creating music which transcends genre; the origins of rock and roll; and the power of simplicity in hip hop.Opening Credits: Independent Music Licensing Collective (IMLC) - New Lands; Closing Credits: Jack Adkins - Little Stinky

As you know if you've been listening this season, we have a single subject we're going to be exploring across ten episodes, and that subject is fusion. Fusion means much more, I think, than just the music that most people think of when they hear the word. I'm not talking exclusively about the big-name bands from the 1970s: the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Return to Forever, and Weather Report. Those groups, and the Miles Davis bands from 1969 to 1975, and many other less immediately recognizable groups, all did the classic fusion thing, playing extremely complex music that blurred the lines between progressive rock and jazz. We talked about those acts in the second and third episodes this season, when I interviewed drummer Lenny White and trumpeter Randy Brecker, both of whom were around then and were actively participating in making that music. If you think of fusion as a mindset, though, rather than a style of music, the discussion gets a lot more interesting. And that's really how I prefer to think about it. It's not just a specific narrow slice of music, it's a way you approach any kind of music you make. KRS-One said rapping is something you do, hip-hop is something you live. And that's kind of close to what I'm talking about here, conceptually speaking. Fusion can be a style of music, or it can be a way you approach the making of music. And the people who fall into the latter category are the ones who I find to be the most interesting, and the ones who are more likely to have careers where almost every record they play on is at least worth hearing, worth giving a chance. You may not like all of it. But they're creative enough that they've earned the benefit of the doubt.Brandon Ross is one of those guys. He's been on a hell of an artistic journey over the course of the last forty-some years. His first recording was on an Archie Shepp album from 1975, There's a Trumpet in My Soul. He worked with violinist Leroy Jenkins. He worked with saxophonists Marion Brown and Oliver Lake. He worked with Henry Threadgill for something like ten years, in multiple bands or one evolving band. He worked with Cassandra Wilson on her breakout album, Blue Light Til Dawn, and the follow-up, New Moon Daughter. He's made albums under his own name. The reason a lot of people probably know his name right now is he's the guitar player in Harriet Tubman, with bassist Melvin Gibbs, who's been on this podcast before, and drummer JT Lewis. And now here's the really interesting part – Brandon Ross has an album coming out a little later this year on my label, Burning Ambulance Music. He's got a new group, see, called Breath Of Air, which is a trio featuring violinist Charles Burnham and drummer Warren Benbow. Something I learned in this interview, by the way, is that Brandon has done the guitar-violin thing several times, with Leroy Jenkins and also with Terry Jenoure, a very interesting violin player who isn't nearly as well known as she ought to be. When I was researching Brandon to come up with questions for this interview, I learned about her and now I'm gonna be diving into her catalog, and I suggest you do the same. Some of her music is on streaming services; she released a 3CD set called Portal last year that's fantastic. Anyway, Breath Of Air has a self-titled debut, most of which was recorded live in February 2020, right before the pandemic started and live music went away, and like I said it'll be out a little bit later this year.In the meantime, enjoy this conversation between me and Brandon Ross. We talk about his work with Henry Threadgill, about his work with Cassandra Wilson, about Archie Shepp and Oliver Lake and Marion Brown, about Harriet Tubman, about the sort of No Wave punk-funk jazz scene of the late '70s and early '80s that included Ornette Coleman's Prime Time and Ronald Shannon Jackson's Decoding Society and all the other guitarists that came out of that scene, including Michael Gregory Jackson and Kelvyn Bell and Jean-Paul Bourelly and James "Blood" Ulmer and Vernon Reid… we also talk about his particular approach to the guitar and to sound. There's a lot to learn and a lot to think about in the hour or so of conversation you're about to hear. I hope you enjoy listening to it.Music in this episode:Breath Of Air, “No One On Earth Can See You Anymore” (from Breath Of Air)Henry Threadgill, “Little Pocket Size Demons” (from Too Much Sugar For A Dime)Harriet Tubman, “Farther Unknown” (from The Terror End Of Beauty)

Is the US Losing Faith in the Military? That was supposed to be the subject this week – and after about 30 minutes, it was. My guests were Coffee or Die Executive Editor Havok Journal founder Marty Skovlund Jr. and Havok Journal owner Charlie Faint. We had a lot of ground to cover with Marty - from the founding of Havok Journal to the latest on his new book - which explains why we took the scenic route to get on topic. But when we got there, we dove in headfirst: why are most parents patriotic up until their kid is about to enlist? Should vets look down on those who never served? How many of the Army's image issues would be eliminated if we just closed Fort Hood? What is the single best tool to eliminate toxic leadership? Marty and Charlie are at the top of their game and have answers to these and so many more questions. Have a listen here.   Show Alibis So I asked Marty about Charlie's acronym-ization of the “Havok” in Havok Journal. He answered. And then we moved on without me explaining what acronym Charlie came up with. We had talked about it on the first episode, so this should really be on you for not going back and listening to all of our old episodes first. (Please don't. Seriously, we're so much better than we were two months ago). So, on the off-chance you haven't heard the first episode yet, it stands for “Have A Voice Outside of Killing (HAVOK).” Marty says he leaned into leaving the military for a writing career like Leroy Jenkins. I didn't have enough time to mention that Leroy Jenkins was a fraud. But you should know that by now. It takes me just under a decade to get to Charlie in this week's episode. How he hung on that long, I don't know. Maybe he was delirious from holding his middle finger into the camera for a prolonged period of time. Wayne Knight once said that playing Newman on Seinfeld was challenging because he would only have a few lines an episode, yet he had to make a huge impact every time out. Charlie was our Wayne Knight this episode. Hopefully, he won't ever have to be again. And I won't do anything corny like say, “Hello, Charlie.” But seriously, he was on point. So, while listening to a rough draft of the show, I winced, noticing that I laughed when Marty says that Vanessa Guillen wasn't even the only soldier murdered at Fort Hood that month. Trust me, I don't find anything that happened to her funny. But Marty had a great delivery, and, as I explained on the show, I was thinking of the tepid parents who don't want their kids to enlist hearing this and rolling their eyes in “I told you so's”. What happened to Vanessa Guillen was horrific and so crazily over the top, it's hard to quickly summon appropriate human emotions when her case is thrown into a conversation. We rag a lot on Fort Hood in this episode, but, all joking aside, there is something rotten in the culture there that needs to be addressed, like, yesterday.   Show Notes Marty Skovlund Jr. The Ranger by Marty Skovlund Jr. The True Story of How Standing Rock Fell by Marty Skovlund Jr. The Longest War by Marty Skovlund Jr. Violence of Action by Marty Skovlund Jr. Nomadic Veterans 35P/SOT-A job description Reagan Foundation poll 2020 Gallup Poll on US trust in the military Vanessa Guillen murder at Fort Hood Coffee or Die Shannon Kent Second Mission Foundation FAIR Bari Weiss Ayaan Hirsi Ali Havok Journal Savage Wonder
