MLB Reds the 4 game win streak comes to an end. The Redlegs fall last night to the cardinals 7-1. It never felt like it was close as the offense was nonexistent. The Cincinnati Reds seven-game losing streak is turning the toughest stretch of the season into the stretch that is sinking the 2024 season. The Reds need to turn this around and fast after a night where the Reds left a lot of scoring opportunities on the field against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Reds got hits, they just didn't get enough runs scored. Also, the Reds roster management is questionable with Christian Encarnacion-Strand being placed on the IL for a broken wrist what feels like 11 days late. And the reasons Thursday's game is a must-win include what comes next, a 10-game west coast trip, and the fact that Hunter Greene is pn the mound. Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…
Headlines MLB - Reds The Reds were back yesterday. It was a day after an off day, so theyd surely look refreshed right? Not really. The Reds lose 6-2 in game 1 to the arizona diamondbacks. Zac Gallen went 6 innings striking out 6 and not allowing a run. (here is david bell) Frankie Montas in his return looked sharp going 6 innings giving up 1 earned run while striking out 7 as well. The Reds sent down Sam Moll with a 0.00 ERA. I didnt think it would be a terrible move because justin wilson was pitching great. That was until yesterday. Justin Wilson essentially ended the game as soon as he came in giing up 4 hits and 4 earned runs while recording 1 out before being yanked. Jonathan India and Tyler Stephenson both hit solo home runs when the game was already decided. 3 total hits for the reds offense as the average falls to .207 They are back tonight with Graham Ashcraft taking the bump for the Redlegs and jordan Montgomery taking the hill for the diamondbacks. Montgomery comes into town with a 5.63 ERA. surely tonight the offense will come back? Around the League Rangers stomp on the Sacramento Athletics 15-8. They had a 10 run second inning. Jaylen Brown led the way for the Celtics with 32 points Mitchell did his part for the cavs scoring 33 points but it wasnt enough The Thunder rolled last night winning 117-95 over the dallas mavericks. Welcome to Episode 1 of Redleg Roundtable - An interview show hosted by Seth Shaner. Redleg Roundtable aims to bring you one-on-one conversations about the Cincinnati Reds from the people that know best. For the inaugural episode Seth had the pleasure of sitting down with former Cincinnati Reds catcher Eddie Taubensee. During the hour-long conversation they covered Eddie's path to the big leagues, his time with the Reds, and went into detail on the 1999 Redlegs squad that won the hearts of every Reds fan fortunate enough to watch and listen to them play. We're grateful to Eddie for his willingness to have this chat, and grateful to Seth for making it happen. Seth plans to bring us similar content with regularity going forward and we could not possibly be more excited to have him on board over at The Riverfront. This week the Reds made another signing adding Cincinnati kid Brent Suter to sure up their Bullpen for 2024, Suter is a sure-handed pitcher with many great qualities pitching at GABP in 2024. Tim and Ben will discuss the signing as well as discuss the upgrade to the Bullpen from 2023 to 2024. Lastly, because we still have a little over 2 months until the season starts, we obviously need some sort of silly content, right? We will compare the 2024 Redlegs to...... The Avengers. Pull out the broom! The Reds sweep the Royals making it five straight wins for our Redlegs. Lance has a quick sprint to midnight. Tune in!
Chad and Nate do a deep dive into a particularly fun week to be a Reds fan, as the ol' Redlegs swept the Cubs at Wrigley, then took two of three from the BoSox in Fenway. Also on the agenda: Matt McLain is the best player in the National League, Elly De La Cruz continues to destroy baseballs at Triple-A, and Hunter Greene answers some of the critics. Plus, Spencer Steer vs. Joey Votto! Come join our ever-growing family of Cincinnati Reds fans (and support the podcast) on Patreon! More talk about "weak contact" in the Cardinals postgame after the Reds put up double digits on the birds
This was a very disappointing and irritating week for the Redlegs. A 1-5 week with two truly head-scratching losses has Tim very frustrated. So tonight on Late Night Reds, we're letting it all out. Chuck gives his stance on the future of the Cincy Reds.
The Redlegs had a rough week, but there are far more positives than negatives, if you can believe it. Steer and Friedl and Fraley and India are playing great, and the Big Three starters are mostly looking pretty great. Sure, there's the bullpen...but maybe they're not as bad as we think? Chad and Nate have a great time breaking down everything from the most recent week of Cincinnati Reds baseball. Also, Nate has a particularly hot take about Cincinnati's manager, David Bell. Chad Dotson was joined this week by Joel Luckhaupt, who has been a frequent (and entertaining) guest over the years. Joel is the statistician for the Cincinnati Reds television broadcasts and author of two brilliant books about the ol' Redlegs. We talked about the Jesse Winker non-troversy, Joey Votto's brilliance in the broadcast booth, and the reasons that Reds fans should have some hope. (Yes, you have permission to be hopeful.)
