Dudley Music is a Long Island-based Hip-Hop recording artist, producer, and Jazz musician who plays saxophone, keys, guitar, drums, flute, and clarinet. Nicky Dreams @11d.r.3.a.m.s.11 is the definition of an entrepreneur. He has his hands in a little bit of everything, ranging from working with kids to his own music and art of all kinds and so much more. After working at the elementary school for the first day in Soweto, South Africa, we all sat down to reflect. We talked about what we observed, our first impressions of the kids, and what we had planned for the rest of the week. Some parts got pretty emotional. The Foschino Brothers are two beyond talented musicians representing Long Island. They played some original music, spoke about their experiences within the industry thus far, and explained what it takes to make it within the NYC music scene. At the ages of 11 and 9 they performed at Jones Beach Theatre for over 5000 people, enough said. Took me a while, but I'm back from Africa and ready to pump these out again. Johnny and Steve run NextStep Entertainment, a collective that promises to bring your party to the next step (which I've seen them personally accomplish when they helped out the Moverz at an event a couple months ago). They came by with their friend Tommy, who plays a mean guitar, and we talked about how the company came to be, Grand Theft Auto, and falling down escalators.
Zak Reyes is a good friend and singer/songwriter. He came on and spoke to LiveMic and I about his musical path then performed an acoustic set. Remus is an actual international man of mystery. He's the reason the studio now has the vibe that it does due to the outstanding artwork he has donated to us. He told story after story about his days as a rave organizer, how he got into the world of underground art and graffiti, and left us with some profound words. I'd normally tell you to follow him on social media, but he's completely off the grid.
To put it mildly, Abushady is a solo artist and the lead singer of the Mariguanas but there is so much more to him. He is also an extremely spiritual being and came on the show to talk about everything under the sun (and beyond). Brandon Ramirez is a singer/songwriter and performer out of Coram, NY. He joined LiveMic and I for another awesome live performance where he played several songs for us. Aside from playing music, Brandon also talked about his upbringing, how he got onto the musical path and his plans for the future.
Live Mic threw a Toys for Tots event at the American Air Power Museum in Farmingdale and we decided to bring the mic along with us. The Foschino Brothers and David Martinez performed, followed by a couple duets with Kayla, to spread some good vibes.
