Calling someone you haven't spoken to in two years isn't weird; it's just being human.Today's guest is Jacob Marquez, also known as J. Henry, a Seattle-based tech entrepreneur and musical artist whose approach to relationships challenges a lot of conventional friendship wisdom.Jacob is the founder of Seattle's Best Brunch, bringing creatives together to collaborate and spotlight each other's work, and he's developing an app that helps people nurture their relationships. What drew me to Jacob wasn't what he was building but how he approaches connection. He'll call someone out of the blue after years of silence, and he thinks that friendships can be reciprocal – even if one person talks about themself the whole time. Our conversation touches on everything including low-maintenance friendships, systems for connection, and the impact of redefining intimacy, and I think it will have us all thinking twice about our assumptions regarding how friendship should work. In this episode you'll hear about:Jacob's work in community connection, including Seattle's Best Brunch and his app, Connect, which provides systems for staying connectedThe different systems each of us uses to track and maintain friendships; plus, why it's important to be open to change and growth in our friendships as time goes onDifferent ways friendships can actually be reciprocal – even if you don't think they are at first glance! The entrances into different communities you could be finding just by being open and communicative about what you're looking forResources & LinksOn Instagram check out Jacob's personal Instagram and his account for Seattle's Best Brunch.Like what you hear?

On this podcast this week, we review the dramatic weekend in Mandalika. Fermin Aldeguer takes victory as a rookie, Marc Marquez is injured in an incident with Marco Bezzecchi.

Ci racconta tutto Pier Augusto Stagi.

In this episode, we talk about Gabriela Fundora getting a stoppage of Alexas Kubicki. Fundora, the undisputed women's flyweight champ, is now riding a three-fight knockout streak. After Saturday, it is clear that she is not an undercard fighter.Oscar Collazo, the unified 105lbs champion, stopped Jayson Vayson in a strange stoppage. First off, Collazo looked limited at points in the fight, and Vayson's corner stopped the bout in the seventh, with the fight seemingly being competitive. We will also briefly touch on Ruslan Abdullaev, Gael Cabrera, Grant Flores, and Joel Iriarte, who stood out on the undercard. Salita Promotions had a solid card on Friday with Brandon Moore showing good composure to outbox DeAndre Savage. This is Moore's third undefeated fighter he has beaten in a row. Are we sleeping on Moore's potential? The best fight of the week saw Olivia Curry and Kaye Scott fight to a majority draw, meaning the unified vacant titles on the line will remain vacant. If you haven't watched this, please do so. OTX Boxing held a card featuring Breyon Gorham in the main event. WBC women's featherweight champ Tiara Brown defended her title, but a mild shocker, Wesley Ferrer, upset Giovanni Marquez in Marquez's hometown of Houston. This week, ProBox TV returns with light heavyweight contender Najee Lopez taking on Kalvin Henderson, and junior middleweight Emiliano Moreno taking on Raul Garcia. Other notables to watch for on this card are Emilio Garcia, Kevin Anton, and Anthony Cuba vs Jorge de Jesus. On DAZN, IBF women's 105lbs champ Sol Cudos will head to Canada to face recent Most Valuable Promotions' signee, Kim Clavel. Women's middleweight Tamm Thibeault is the co-feature. The Catalan Gp is covered on this episode. With usually dull racing Jim and Rich jim and rich focused more on the news of the week. The announcement was that Gunther Steiner of drive to survive F1 fame is now a MotoGP own having bought the Tech3 team. Out on track the Moto3 race only became interesting in the last 5 laps. Jim was happy that for the first time in a long long time the riders kept out of the pit lane exit while riding 5 wide on the front straight. Piqueras took the win but despite a long lap penalty Rueda finished second and still has a commanding lead in the championship. In Moto2 Holgado lead every lap to take his first Moto2 win. The best par of the race was Munoz's pass of Dixion going into turn one. I was a masterful outside to inside maneuver but sadly Dixion was able to get back by in the late stages of the race. In MotoGP Marquez won, no not Marc, but Alex. Alex was unbeatable by anyone but himself as he crashed out of a comfortable win in the Sprint and handed the win to his brother. On Sunday he was unbeatable taking a commanding win after an early dice with Marc. It's a jungle out there* and the predators are running wild! That's the metaphor Peter uses to describe today's race, explaining why he and Mat have a very clear Man of the Match in Barcelona. Spoiler warning: he came in fifth today...And yes, the Marquez siblings continue to reign supreme as they dominate every other rider who showed up to their home country. But surprisingly, it's Alex that takes the number one position. Is Marc slipping? Is he going soft on family? Or is he suddenly showing a special kind of restraint? Well, it can't be the first option if there's a two-second gap between those chargers up front and the runner-ups behind them. Maybe the answer is a lot more simple. As Mat puts it: who'd want to fuck up their own brother? And can you even hold that against someone? Also up for discussion is the future of Ducati. One of the biggest benefits of creating your signature talk and framework is that you don't just use it once; you can repurpose it over and over again. In this episode, I talk with Thought Leader Academy graduate Eloisa Marquez-Gonzalez, who shares how she's taken the signature talk and framework she developed with us and adapted it for different audiences, topics, and speaking engagements.Eloisa has spoken on everything from sustainability to operational excellence to partnerships, but at the core of each talk is her Optima Framework. By simply giving it a new lens depending on the audience, she's able to stay consistent in her message while making it relevant to each event. You'll hear us discuss:Why repurposing your framework saves you time and energy while reinforcing your thought leadership. How Eloisa tailored her talks to different audiences, including business leaders, engineers, and bilingual groups, without reinventing the wheel each time. The importance of preparation and asking smart questions, which helped Eloisa get referred to new speaking opportunities even before event organizers saw her present. What it looks like to niche down your message so your audience clearly understands who you serve and the value you provide. If you've ever felt like you need a brand-new talk for every opportunity, this conversation will show you how to work smarter, not harder - repurposing your signature talk and framework so your audiences remember you and your unique thought leadership. And if you'd like to create your own signature talk and framework that you can repurpose again and again, join us in the Thought Leader Academy.
